32-bit to 64-bit upgrade RAM problems

I recently went from 32 bit to 64 bit of Windows 7 Pro following the 'unofficial' resettlement Wiki (the second time around) to the letter.  Here what's happening: bought two sticks of 4 GB of DDR3 1600 MHz RAM 1.5 volt.  It is fully recognized in BIOS Rev A16. 3.8 GB is used and works perfectly under Windows 32 Bit.  When I attempt to load Windows in 64 bit I get 1) white screen to repair Windows loop - A & B charge 2-BSOD DIMMS when each stick is loaded in DIMM A only.

The tension is incorrect?  Why these modules work perfectly in 32 bit?  Should I exchange for 1333 MHz to 1.35 volts?  Please notify

Generally, I would go for Crucial RAM on Dell systems. We find that they sometimes accept always RAM of other providers. In this Crucial case is 1.35v modules:

http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Dell-memory/latitude/latitude+E6410-upgrades.html

They also have PC3-12800 modules that will be the fastest. You can also consider an also however high capacity SSD are still quite expensive.

This former pilot hidden, I'm not sure. Looking around it seems related with the Dell drive:

  • HP Pavilion b000no-13 upgrade RAM, problem with disassembly.

    Hello!

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 13-b000no (I think that it is a "Europe/Scandinavia" model only) and have decided that I want to add 4 GB of additional ram (I checked that it is compatible).

I searched all over the internet for the same model or similar on how to open it, but have not found anything useful. I then tried to do it myself, located all the screws unscrewed the but found that I couldn't open the back plastic without a chance to break.

Here are some pictures of my attempt (too big files so had to use imgur).

In yellow are all visible screws that I could find.

Red, four additional screws under stickers (down two don't have behind them).

Green is where I could "pry" open less than an inch and see the internal parts.

Top of page interim sticker had no screws under.

  • Upgrade RAM problem new Alienware 15, 4 no beeps no boot.

So, I just bought a new alienware 15 and I've had good compatible ram for an upgrade, according to dell recommended ram for this computer.  He also worked in my previous alienware 14.  I took the stock of ram (2 x 4 GB @1600 mhz) and set (2x8GB @ 1866 mhz) Corsair vengeance and the current bios does not recognize them.  A04 is the newest bios.  Any chance Alienware will come out an upgrade of the bios to accept RAM like this.  the Alienware 14 down them without flaw.  Model number on the upgrade of ram is CMSX16GX3M2A1866C10

    Thanks for any help.

  • Upgrading Ram problems

    Hi all

    I have a R4 Aurora alx 2012 build

Sandy bridge i7 3820 gtx 980 sli, 8 gb of ram 1600 mhz cpu

The island problem is ive bought 16 GB 4x4GB Corsair dominator platinum 2400 mhz ram and it does not start when it is installed?

Ive tried all imaginable configurations with the sticks themselves, reset the cmos jumper, removed the cmos battery etcetc and still no joy.

The system turns well but no signal on the screen even if all the lights of the fans and everything seem to work very well? There is no beeps at all, and obviously the Tower seems to think his job well, but no signal.

I have replace the old 8 GB 1600 mhz original and everything sticks works fine?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am scratching my head after having exhausted all remedies?

    Thank you

    Hi Steant,

Looks like you've done what you can do. In this case, seems to me that the Aurora R4 is not compatible with 2400 MHz RAM. That or latency CASE of Aries is off from the design of the system.

If you mixed the RAM, old and new, it works? Put 2 sticks of the original in both slots and the privateer in the other slots to see if you get anything then?

  • Upgrading RAM problem

    Hello, I have a laptop HP 350 G1 series i5 4210u (P/n: K4L54UT #ABA)

I am looking into adding another RAM stick (identical to the ram in stock) on my laptop, however, I'm having a hard time finding the EXACT ram. I found the product to the RMA number in the manual and the stick itself (p/n: 691740-001), but there seems to be different versions of it. After that, I went back into ram for closer look. I noticed that many other numbers next to the product number, however, I have no idea if one of them is useful.

    Maybe is it useful?

  • Satellite C660 - Windows 7 64 bit BSOD after upgrade RAM

    Hi guys

    my laptop Specs: Satellite C660-1JG
    -Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit (pre-installed, Toshiba-HDD recovery)
    -Intel® Celeron® Processor T3500
    -2048 MB of RAM DDR3 (800 MHz).

recently I increase my RAM to 4 GB (2 + 2 GB), since its installation, as soon windows7 64 bit beginning of loading, finished with BSOD. load BSOD Windows sometimes very well, but in a minute or two appears. I can confirm that it does not read the total RAM of 4 GB, I checked while the laptop was about 2 to 3 minutes ON. then I go out 1 RAM stick laptop is fine, no BSOD!

so question raises if the RAM is at fault, incompatibility etc, but I have the dual boot OS and other OS is Ubuntu 11. who reads the 3.84 GB RAM and without crashing or BSOD or any question.

Then I installed Windos 7 32 bit to see if that still has problems with 4 GB of RAM, but NO, 32 bit reads RAM 4 GB (usable 2.8 GB). without crashing or BSOD with 32, only problem with windows 64-bit version!
I checked the specification it says Max RAM 4 GB Ram and yes it supports 4 GB RAM with Linux and win7 32-bit.

I tried to update BIOS version 1.20 (currently on 1.40), but still got error: Firmware has no support of Flash (AFUWINGUI).
I was wondering if any of you can guide me to the right direction.
    Thanks in advance

  • A6511.uk Pavilion: Pavilion a6511.uk windows 7 64 bit upgrade

I have improved my a6511.uk Pavilion from Vista to Windows 7 32-bit of the disk to upgrade without problem and been running this for a few years now. I installed 2 additional 1 GB memory DIMM in the slot 3 and 4 to take up to 4 GB, as indicated by both HP and Kingston as a specific system upgrade for this model. The BIOS and windows both report of 4 GB. «The reading of the form of specification of motherboard site HP it is said ' 32-bit PC can not solve a full 4.0 GB memory»

Although the office comes with Vista 32 bit and I have upgraded to Windows 7 32 bit, the processor is 64-bit, so I have three questions:

1 will be available the additional 2 GB of memory in the current 32-bit OS (Windows 7 32-bit is asked to use up to 4 GB of RAM), or if I wasted my money with this upgrade?

    2. Windows 7 can be upgraded to 64-bit on this computer (I have the required upgrade disc comes with the 32-bit upgrade disk that works on the same key)?

    3. If I switch to Windows 7 64 bit upgrade tool, I would do this as a pure install or use windows, and the 64-bit system will have drivers to support this machine?

If the system can run on a 64-bit system, the question is why not with a 64-bit processor Devil!

Thanks to all those that can help you - the next step is to upgrade the HARD drive for one 240 GB SSD (an another HP/Kingston class upgrade), but I want to get this sorted out first.

Put in the extra memory for 32-bit OS wouldn't give you much of a performance increase.

You could install an OS 64 bit Windows 7 on the computer, but drivers can be a challenge that HP has no Win 7 drivers.  Drivers of this thread look like your system can work.  If this isn't the case, we can help you.

With a Windows 7 64 bit installed you would be able to upgrade your memory up to 8 GB.

Yes, Windows 7 will be a free upgrade for Windows 10, find out if it will work on your system may not be 100% sure.  I've seen newer computers not being not able to run win 10 Tech Preview and still some elders will be.  Only a Microsoft Upgrade Advisor will tell you, but it is not yet available.  For now see the minimum requirements to win 10.

Remember you can only switch to Win 10 64-bit only if a prior installed OS was 64-bit.

If you're feeling adventurous, try to install the win 10 Tech Preview now.

  • Can I do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on Vista Ultimate 32-bit upgrade. Installation file will not work. The error is described below.

The XPS 730 with Intel Q9450 computer yourself running Windows 7 64 bit? The details of performance show that it is capable of 64-bit. When I try to install Windows 7 pro 64-bit upgrade, the installer will not work. I get an error that reads:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows that you are running.

I'm currently running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Everything that I read on Microsoft and elsewhere says that you can go from Vista 32 bit to an operating system Windows 7 64-bit as long as you do the clean install. I'm that far away since I can't even run the installation.
Maybe nobody knows what could be the problem?

    Hi Hal K,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

If you are currently running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 32-bit version of Windows. Similarly, if you run a 64-bit version of Windows, you can perform an upgrade to another 64-bit Windows version.

If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows, and vice versa, you will need to back up your files and then perform a custom of the version of Windows you want to install installation.

  • Change color of Partition Image factory after that Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit upgrade

I bought the package of Microsoft Family Pack Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit upgrade. I upgraded my HP Pavilion m9525f without problem. However, when I upgraded HP Pavilion Media Center m8547c PC my work wife I noticed that the partition image factory had changed from blue to red. His computer is now slower that it was running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit years she gets blockages requiring restarts.

I have installed all the software HP upgrade to his computer and deleted all unnecessary programs, run the cleaning program in Accessories, defragmented the drive and ran sfc/scannow, who finds no problems with its operating system files.

There is a serious problem, indicated by the change of color of partition to factory?

Hello Archquark, you can delete the partition D: HP Recovery restore and recover this disk capacity.

If you have the game to restore HP Recovery disk, which you should have done when you've got the system, you can still use them to restore the system back as it was when shipped from HP.

I, personally, to remove these partitions recovery, because as you said, that they are usually outdated very soon after you get the system, but I wouldn't recommend others that under normal circumstances.

I don't know why a temp. file was created in your D: Recovery partition.

Windows 7 installation can be linked to the Vista install, and you will need to have Vista installed in order to perform the upgrade to Windows 7 If you have in the future.

There are a few different methods that Microsoft and HP use to upgrade to Windows 7.

I got a system until Windows 7 came out, but with a free Windows 7 upgrade when it was released. I got the Windows 7 upgrade disc and he ran like an upgrade. Later, I had to change the hard drive without an operating system installed and was able to perform a new installation with the provided HP Windows 7 upgrade disk.

Appears to be a tossup. If you decide to delete the D: Recovery partition, you probably that in the Windows 7 Control Panel Setup, administrative tools, computer management, storage, management records.

When you get there, just select the D: Recovery partition and select this option to delete the volume.

Then select the C: partition and choose the volume and it should expand the C: partition to include the ability to partition D: previous.

  • Can I use a key to upgrade Windows 7 32 - bit for the upgrade to Vista 64 - bit, 7 64-bit, with a 64-bit upgrade disc?

It's a bit complicated, but I appreciate all help.

    I have the following:
    1. access to a genuine copy of Windows Vista 64-bit (regardless of the version I want) through IEEE Computer Society.
    2. a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit upgrade disc purchased through a program of student software in 2010. Shortly after using the disk and the key, the laptop I was using died due to hardware problems.
    3. a drive to upgrade Windows 7 Professional 32 - bit bought via the same pattern of student software, including an unused key.
Student software system only allows users to buy a copy of each version, so I can't buy it simply another copy of the 64-bit version.
I wonder if it is possible to use the key of the 32-bit version with the version 64-bit upgrade disk to upgrade a 64 bit Windows Vista installation to Windows 7? If this is not the case, unfortunately, I'll be stuck with Vista.

Windows 7 Professional 32 bit product key will attempt to activate the Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installation. The only condition, in this case, is that the (Professional) edition is the same.

    Hello

the modules are completely identical? They come from the same manufacturer? If not, then your problem is solved and you should go to the store where you purchased this RAM and exchange for a compatible.
Usually this phenomenon appeared in only two cases:

    1. the modules are identical but one of them is faulty and it is the reason why they start won´t when it is matched
    2. the modules are not identical or not, from the same manufacturer they also start won´t when it is matched

That's it, my friend. Nothing more to say.
