Windows Vista falls into disuse, some see it as obsolete by 2013 because Microsoft has dropped support for that office 2013, IE10 and IE11. The next version of Windows will be 10 Windows and install the Windows Build 10130 Insider, I recommend:

If you insist on the use of such an outdated Windows version while you use the WSUS Offline Update for patch. This will give you IE9, SP1, SP2 and all updates for Windows Vista. One no hotfix Windows Vista may have problems getting the update:

Standalone SP1, SP2, and IE9 can be found here:

I think to buy windows 10 to upgrade my old dell computer. Is it possible to do a clean install of windows 10 64-bit on a 32-bit computer?

If your hardware meets minimum care to win 10 (doubtful) and purchase a license to win 10 you can install own architecture whatever you like.

    1 GHz processor or faster
1 GB of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB of disk space available (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphical device DirectX 9 with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
Your processor (CPU) must support the following extensions: SSE2, NX, EAP

  • Deskjet 710/720/810/820/1000 Series printers - Patch for 64 bit Vista and Windows 7

There is a problem with the 64-bit, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers which causes the spooler crash with the following HP Deskjet printers:

    DeskJet 710

    DeskJet 712

    DeskJet 720

    DeskJet 722

    DeskJet 810

    DeskJet 812

    Deskjet 820

    DeskJet 822

    DeskJet 1000

The attachment contains a fix for this problem for Vista and Windows 7.

[The patch does not work for Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 x 64 systems.  There are efforts to this address, if a solution is developed it will be shown here.  [{Edit - I did not progress by getting the patch to run in Windows 8 x 64.}]

First of all make sure that the driver for the installed printer.  If the driver has not been installed go to start devices and printers, add printer, the local printer, choose the appropriate port (for the converters, USB-parallel, the port likely USB001: or maybe USB002 :), then click Windows Update then choose HP for the manufacturer and select the appropriate printer.)

Apply the patch as follows: log in to the computer with an administrator account.  Download the patch by clicking on this link or on the trombone at the end of this post.  Save the hotfix on your computer, then unzip it.  Then, copy the three DLL files in the following directory: %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3

Note that %windir%\System32 is a system variable that points to the location of the Windows directory. For most systems it will be C:\Windows.  You can click Start, computer, and type %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 in the address bar and it is in the right place.

This can be done from a DOS command prompt if BACK is opened with the "run as Administrator" command or to explore with a copy and paste.  Depending on your UAC settings, you may need to provide confirmation.  Also allow existing files to be replaced if you are prompted.

This patch is not necessary and should not be applied to a 32-bit version of Vista or Windows 7.

Thanks to extraordinary Microsoft engineer Alan Morris forguidelines for patch.

Update - here is that of the more detailed installation instructions:

Download the patch on the DJ_Patch.zip at the bottom of the page and save it on your computer.  Now click on the file and open it, and then extract the fix in a directory that is easy to find. (I use c:\temp. If this directory does not exist you can create it as follows: open the administrative BACK prompts by clicking Start, all programs, accessories, and then right-click on CMD. EXE and select run as administrator. Click in the DOS window, and then type the following command:

    MD c:\temp

    CD \temp

Now extract the patch files in the c:\temp directory (all, extract c:\temp chose as a destination).

[Update - Windows security settings can prevent these files from being used, please open computer, type c:\temp in the address bar and then right click on each of the dll files and select Properties.]  If there is a message indicating the properties file has been downloaded from the internet and can be blocked and then unlock the file before continuing.]

Then, click back to the administrative DOS prompt and type the following: (the green stuff are comments, do not type them...)

*. DLL DIR (just to check that the files are there, it should list hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll and perhaps others).

Net stop spooler (ensures that the files are not in use.)

Copy hpvdb720.dll C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this is for the Deskjet 710/712/720/722)

Copy hpvdb820.dll c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this covers the Deskjet 820 and 822)

    Hpwm5db1.dll c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3(this covers the Deskjet 1000 copy)

    NET Start Spooler

    Output

[Edit - note that these DLL files will already be in the directory.  You will get a warning asking if it's OK to replace the files, say "Yes".]

At this point, the patch is installed and ready to print.

Note that here printers do not support USB connections, they have only the parallel ports. [Edit - if your printer has a parallel port to use, it will be probably much less problematic than the use of a converter USB / parallel].   If you use a make you converter USB / parallel it is supported in your operating system.  The following messages are reported by cables USB-parallel that are supposed to work in Windows 7.   A driver is required for the converter USB / parallel besides the driver of the printer.  For converters supported, it is usually provided automatically in Windows 7.  Note: the appropriate to select for USB-parallel converter port is often USB001:.  I've heard of cases where the port was USB002: or LPT3: as well.  If the port you are using is unable (after applying the fix) try to change the port by going to start, devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select printer properties, then click the Ports tab.

Mick4 wrote: the problem is that I only could unzip the 3 dll files but don't know how to replace the bad dll files. Mick 4

If you use Windows 7 do the following: log in as a user with the administrater properties.  [The following assumes that you are using IE as your browser] Click on the here link and select "Save".   Once the download is complete, select "Open folder", then right-click on the DJ_patch.zip file and select extract all.   If extract all is not an option, then click on "Open with" and select Windows Explorer.

Leave the default directory and check the box "Show extracted files when you are finished", excerpt.   Click Start, computer, and type % windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3.  Arrange the windows so that you can access the two parts of the window.  Go in the first pane and select the three files dll, hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll.  Now drag and drop them to the % windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 window, select copy and answer to 'replace' in the dialog box.

Note: %windir%\System32 is a system variable that points to the Windows directory.  For most systems it will be C:\Windows, but it can vary depending on the configuration of NDO of hardware configuration of the computer.  If you type %windir%\SysWoW64\cmd.exe in the address bar in Explorer or in start, search programs and files, it will find the right directory.

(64-bit capable) 32 bit Vista Home Premium... I can do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit professional?... from a flash drive?... to change the boot order?... or at all?

    Hello

That's right; with Vista Home Premiun upgrade paths are for Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate.

It is one of the reasons why you should do a clean install.

The other reason is that you can NOT put 32-bit to 64-bit.

You need a clean install to do.

Follow these steps before you install or buy Windows 7:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

    Hi LaForest,

You will not be able to access the Windows vista 64-bit DVD that the problem occurs because the Windows operating system upgrades are supported only between matching operating system architectures. A 32-bit version of Windows XP does not recognize the engine to install Windows Vista 64-bit.

  • try to install Medal of Honor Airborne on 32-bit vista, and problems with the windows firewall starts do not.

    OK, im losing my mind.

I bought a copy of airborne for my 32 bit vista system and found initially that I had to do a few tricks to install and play it like UN-installing ageia phys-x, it was simple enough. Well I have had since stopped playing it and would try to uninstall without result. I tried to fix it and using "C-cleaner.

I went down some of the files, but I think that my registry is a little buggy so I tried blocking it with c cleaner, he sure found several errors and fixesd them.

Well, I'm trying now to re - install MOHA and when I put the disc and click autorun the pre-start games window appears with the usual options, play, upgrade, site Web etc... I hit play, it does nothing. I tried to uninstall it from the disk and to halfway through she said "MOHA has not stopped the Installation Wizard prematurely try again later". I can't repair or uninstall or install. I read somewhere that it is a firewall with windows problem and if I run my firewall victory "which I have never on", this should work if the software is added to the 'green' list on the firewall.

now I find that I can not get my firewall to start. I researched and found a few forums where people explained to the services command prompt and tried to 'start' several 'order' in there and firewall programs will not start giving me this error-windows cannot start service windows firewall. and the code of error-6801.

I am a novice to tooling autour under the 'software' hood of PCs. I know a bit about the material and that's it. anyone has any ideas for me? otherwise I'm looking to another disorder vista install, I had a moment difficult, installation of the 1st hour and im not not looking forward to try it again...

    Hi rocknerd,.

You can try to download the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and try to remove the game, and then reinstall it.

You can read the following article to download the Windows Installer Cleanup utility:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

    1. click on Start , then select all programs

    2. in all programs , click Windows Installer Cleanup; the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility window appears, listing the software currently installed on your computer.

    3. Select the game in the list, then click on Remove. If you have multiple files, delete all the.

After you run the Windows Installer Cleanup utility try to re install the game and check if it works on your computer.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Multiprocessor_configuration_not_supported Precision T5400 in 64-bit Vista / Windows 7

    Hi all

My T5400 precision cannot run Vista/Windows 7 64 bit when a second processor is installed.  I have a blue screen saying Multiprocessor_configuration_not_supported.  It is the configuration of my precision T5400:

First processor: Intel Xeon E5420, stepping C0

Second processor: Intel Xeon E5420, stepping E0

    BIOS version: A05

Review of the main map: A00

There's no problem during the installation or the other processor.  The problem existed when the two processors were installed even I tried to (stepping E0) CPU_1 CPU_0 and (stepping C0).

I can't install Windows 7 64 bit.  The blue screen appeared after loading Windows files.

I can complete the installation of 64-bit Vista (DVD original Dell).  However, when I install service pack 1, the same blue screen appear after a restart.

I also tried the patch from Microsoft (KB973879) but the situation is the same.

I find that the problem occurs only in 64-bit Vista / Windows 7.  I have no problem to install and run XP 64-bit and 32 - bit XP / Vista / Windows 7.

Do you have any idea?  Is it possible for Dell allow disabling certain features of processor in the BIOS so that they are 100% identical to the BONE.  According to Intel, a less characteristic than C0 E0 stepping.  According to me, it's why Windows thinks that the processors are not identical, although they are in the same family, model, clock speed, FSB and cache.

Thank you very much for your help.

I have a t5400 that I bought a second processor for Dell who had a mismatch of progression. I had the same problem. I solved it by removing the second processor. Installation of windows 7 64 Professional with all the updates. Opening msconfig. On the Startup tab, you will have an entry for windows 7 which is indicated by (OS default or current operating system). Click above to highlight, and then click Advanced options button, put a check the processor and change to 2 in the menu dropdown. Stop and install the second processor. When your windows 7 64 facts should start up. It worked for me!
