4 new cartridges but still not PRINTING BLACK.

We have a HP Deskjet 3070 using Windows 8

We don't use it a lot and so when he started being picky last week I thought I had to delete it and reinstall whenever I wanted to use this I don't mind really.

But it was faded printing, so I replaced the Blcak cartridge as we only really need to print in black.

After having done that, it was still faded so I paid and bought new cartridges HP authentic to replace the lot, thinking they were probably all dry and need to change anyway.

However this has not corrected the problem.

Print colors without any problem at all, but black is partial, faded or even not that does not exist.

Any ideas... Please!

Return the printer to Costco and exchanged for another 6520. The 2nd works great so far! I kept test prints of the first printer that definitely has lower quality of black print before it stopped working. I think that something should interfere with connections.

  • After you have installed the new cartridge HP do not print black ink

HP Officejet 4620, Windows 7... installed new HP black ink cartridge and now it will not print black at all. I followed all the advice line in the help section, even cleaned the vents on the cartridge itself but shows only the white page. No error message is displayed. Diagnostic ran and says it all works correctly. Also cleaned printheads through 2 cycles still nothing. Any other suggestions? It was working fine before inserting the new black ink cartridge.

    Hi Teresa1960,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are facing some print quality problems on your HP Officejet 4620 you cannot print in black ink.

You have completed all THE steps listed here: printer does not print black ink or color of ink or prints blank Pages, without success.

Please note: there are three stages of print head cleaning. Three steps if necessary. If the print head is badly clogged, it may require another round of cleaning. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last step of cleaning (third) to start the first stage of the cleanup process.

If you are unable to print in black ink, I think that the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. • Printer says I have ink in the cartridges but will not print black

I have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m.  I am frustrated because for now, it will not print anything black.  The color setting shows that I have sufficient ink in all cartridges, including the ordinary and photo black black.  Should I assume that I have a bad ink cartridge (even if it was printing without problem), or is a printer problem?  I ran to the print head clean definition, but it did not help.

It could be the cartridges, but I doubt it.  What you can try, is not this video, I'm going to the link below and also Bob Headrick printhead soaking.  I hope that will fix him

  • DeskJet 2541: brand new HP Deskjet 2541 not printing black

Just set up our new Deskjet 2541. Impressions color very well, but when I try to print black it prints a blank page.

Ink estimate shows that the black cartridge is about 75% full. I ran the alignment and vacuuming twice.

I also tried to do a hard reboot by unplugging for 30 seconds and then plug it in.

As much as I know there is no problem with black cartridge, its all just not printing.

    Help?

Edit: I took out and put new and when the alignment page is printed there are 2 red arrows and a warning sign on the bottom half red. Upper half a blue colors only.

It's working now. No idea of what he did, I turned it off for a whole day and when I restarted the properly printed alignment page and black now works!

  • New Dell v525 will not print black

Just got a v525w of my company for my remote desktop.  I went through the installation process on the disc, but the printer will print color not black, only.  All cartridges are new aluminum foil packaging and a quick search online has not turned upward all useful patches.  Touch the round black cartridge pad shows the ink in the cartridge, once again, don't think it's the cartridge.

Any thoughts on how to fix?

Phone support rep had me clean print head and that fixed it.  Such storage or shipping sometimes affects the print head.

  • My Officejet 6500 E709 all in one will not print black.

My HP Officejet 6500 E709n all-in-one will not print black.   All other colors work very well.  Have you tried what follows - new black cartridge installed, ran the print heads clean utility, made sure the wind was compatible black ink cartridge, turned printer off and restarted.  Print tests still not print black - other colors and images to print, but not text black or shades of black in images.  Any suggestions on how to fix or what needs to be repaired?  Thank you.

Hi jim: I just had the same problem a few minutes ago. After having gone through all the troubleshooting steps, I realized it was all just a bad cartridge. The PIN on the printer heads were not reading the new cartridge, so nothing in black print could be printed. I installed a new black cartridge and I could resume my printing projects. I then contacted the HP store directly to report the faulty cartridge while they could send me a new, that I won't be out of pocket for a cartridge I bought directly from them.

Hope this helps you with your problem.

  • HP C309a: HP C309A will be not printed black, don't align

I've seen a couple of posts similar to the problem I have.  For me the problem came suddenly.  Yesterday the printer has not worked, today no black print.  I replaced the black cartridge, even though the indicator says it was always half full.  The replacement was a new HP cartridge.  The display acknowledged the new cartridge with the screen of "genuine hp.  Still not printing black ink.  I pulled the cartridges and clean the print head, reinstalled the cartridges and tried to print.  Now, I had an alignment error screen.  I tried the hot water bath, let dry for an hour (while the cartridges were placed and sealed in a ziplock bag) and then reinstalled the print head and cartridges.  Still have the alignment error and still no black printing.  I unplugged the printer into the wall, and then repluged into it, while holding down the key "#" and press '6' on the printer keypad.  He ran the steps wondering what language and invites me to load all paper trays, then tried an alignment.  I still have the alignment error, and it would not print in black.  I retried this so many times my XL Black cartridge now read a little more half full.  Then I tried the warm water through the printhead until water in clear weather.  I double checked it by soaking in the bath hot check clear water came from the print head.  I'm dry now, but I'm not optimistic that this will be remedied what whatsoever.  Is there anything ELSE I can try?

Thank you for responding.  The third bathroom, combination of flushing seemed to work.  I managed to do print in black.

  • C310a not printing black

OK I went through all the posts on these forms, followed all the links of the interview, replaced cartridges, aligning the print heads, cleaning of the printheads, powered it extinguished/turned on, and the printer is still not printing black. It worked very well and then everything just stopped printing black. I use this printer to print approximately 150 pages, since I got last June. Any ideas? I am frustrated with this printer.

Bob, thank you very much for taking your time to answer.  I tried the troubleshooting steps and soak the printhead as you suggested.  It seemed that he did nothing because my black print not after these steps.  I gave up and called HP technical support, hoping that they can help me more.  My first call did not much help because on their system, it showed that my warranty has expired.  It has not expired, so I found my Bill and called again three days later.  The Francis tech had me turn on the printer and copy a document.  Black printed on the first try!  It wasn't a perfect impression had it streaks going across the text in black, but black is finally printed.  We went through several steps to get the black to write legibly.  Align us the cartridges few times, cleaned the cartridges, printed several test pages and wipe the electrical contacts of the print head with a damp lint.  I am extremely relieved that my printer now works.  Thank you.

  • DeskJet F4480: full black print cartridge still does not print black. Colors OK.

What the title says. All of a sudden my Deskjet F4480 does not print black. All cartridges are almost nine (changed recently, bought at Staples). Colour printing is OK. Print a page with black text and results in only the images printing color images. I only went through all the steps of cleaning cartridge several times, no difference. There is no error message, just black not appear do not at all.

    And... Here is the solution.

Funny how I found an explanation of the problem and how to fix it on a different printer manufacturer's Web site, but not on HP... But I digress.

The black cartridge has been blocked. The way of difficulty is:

    1. remove the faulty cartridge from the printer.

    2. place a small amount of boiling water in a cup (about 1/4 in.) and dunk of the print head (the part where the ink comes out) in warm water for a minute. Do not immerse the entire cartridge in hot water, just the print head.

3 take it out, pat against a paper towel, observe the model ink left in the cartridge on the towel. If too little / interrupted, dunk again in hot water for another minute, pat again. You want to get an unbroken line of ink through the length of the print head. Repeat as needed (I did 4 times total).

4 cartridge Pat dry everywhere, put it back in the printer, run cleaning cycles (1 - 2).

    5. If still not good fixed, take out the cartridge and repeat 2 (I had to do it again).

You will lose little ink, cartridge of bad and good a well (you can not run cycles with only 1 cleaning cartridge), but at least you won't have to throw a nearly full cartridge.

  • Could not print black after installing new ink cartridge

I installed the new black cartridge on my deskjet 3520. This is the original hp ink cartridge.

also reinstalled the software of hp deskject.

It shows even good condition here.

but just no matter if I try to copy/printing, the printer started working and looks like it's actually printing, but after he gives me a blank page.

Please can you me what should I do?

    Hi @Laviniania,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are facing some print quality problems on your HP Deskjet 3520, you cannot print in black ink, you tried an alignment without success.

  • HP 5510 will be not printed black before and after you installed the new cartridge. the specified controls did.

Photosmart HP 5510 will be not printed black before and after you installed the new cartridge.  The specified controls did.

Yes, I was referring to manually clean the print head. I see that the 5510 lacks the possibility of leaving the print head manually.

You can click on the menu of your SETUP program on your screen and go to TOOLS and clean the print head from there.

If this does not resolve your problem, you may need to replace the print head.
Contact HP Total Care (1800-474-6836), and if your unit is under warranty, its free.

Let me know if this can help, thank you.
