5.2 horizon problem pool view

Hi all

I'm new to this forum... I have a problem with my farm of the view. I installed view 5.2. I created all the components (composer, vCenter, field, ecc). Everything is green... When I create a pool, I see not all VMs in the list Parent VMs.

I created a VM XP SP3 in my farm, with DHCP, in my field, and with the Agent of the installed display. But nothing: view does not show me the virtual machines.

Any suggestion?

Thank you!!!

  • Right to the pool view

    Hello

Scenario: Have seen Horizon 5.3 Configuration.  Having created the pool view. Entitled to security Active directory global groups to the pools of the view.

While assiging users to view pools, add us users to the Group of active directory to Active directory and then set it to view VDIs. During this operation we are faced with a pop - up that 'add a user as an individual right.

To my thinking, that I shouldn't get this sub group that has the right to pool view to this user as a member. If the user benefits indirectly pool view.

Additinally, we have checked "Enable automatic assignment", but we still need to adopt this manual method of assigning users to view VDIS we must also provide administrative rights to users before allowing them to access the VDI. So we manually assign VDIs to users and admin rights.

Any help on how I could avoid this pop-up message?

Why you add the users manually if you have already added the ad group?

"Enable auto-assignment" have nothing todo with the admin rights, it basically automatically chooses which office will be assigned to the user.

I have problems with view on an Atrust W100 5.3 zero client attempts to use a Magtek USB card.  When I plug the blow of the card into a USB port and the test with the notebook, the device works, but when I try to slip something in QuickBooks POS there are missing characters and the card is not recognized.  I contacted MagTek and they pointed me to a download that I can run and slow the flow of data entry, however when I try to run it it is unable to recognize any USB device.  Is there anything I can do to get this MagTek card reader to work with the view 5.3?

Looks like you're not actually redirecting the USB device, and instead it is considered a local keyboard to the zero client, with the keystrokes that results from being sent all over the office. • Several areas in the Horizon of VMware View AD

Hi guys, I want to test creating Pools with 2 Active Directory domains. I have set up my environment as follows:

    Domain A

    1. connecting to the server

    Server 2-composer

    3-Security Server

    4 - vCenter Server

    Domain B

    1. connecting to the server

    2. created a separate account to View Composer

For now seen Horizon 5.3.2 is fully functional on the field. But I need your help deployment pool using domain B. After you have configured the connection Server (joined to Domain B), I tried to add domain B by using view composer account by logging in to view Admin(Domain A) > Edit vCenter Server > change display composer settings > check server information (under Domain) but I'm 'Bad domain name.

You guys please help or send me a link of approval one way of installation which is required for VMware View, so that I can deploy Pool using domain B.

Without creating confidence, I added redirector conditional field B on the field which allow me to add domain B without "Bad domain name" pop up. But I don't know what to do next. Anyone can guide me please.

    Concerning

    Hello

I've done below the configuration to create 2 different pools where VM is joined to 2 different domains.

I have Domain A and domain B, having 2 confidence way configured by the AD team.

I sent 3 win 2 k 8 Server and added to the field.-a. On a single server, I installed vCenter & composer on one server I installed the login server & the other I did the Server fall back to the existing connection server.

In connect to server, I added vCenter & composer. I have 2 different users who have domain join rights in Domain A and domain B.

    Domain-A\abcUser

    Domain-B\xyzUser

I added above 2 users in the view composer under domain settings. PFA.

When creating a pool, in the comments tab customization for users of domain-A, I chose identifier of domain-A\abcUser machine Domain-A and the AD container, which is present in Domina-A place machines.

for domain B user created another pool, and tab customization of comments, I chose domain-B\xyzuser and the AD container that belongs to the domain B to place machines.

If you want to add a different machines, you must not deploy a connection/replica server in each domain. Just add the ID domain user under domain composer view tab and choose the right ID when creating the pool.

  • When to delete snapshots in parent pool view image

    Hi all

Some of our master images for our pools have a lot of photos and I want to clean them. The problem is, last time I deleted a snapshot on a master image that someone in the pool had disconnected from non-persistent desktop before I had time to recompose the pool and when that office is to refresh it failed (because the snapshot, I removed was in the path of snapshots to the snapshot pool was built out of). Not only he made the effect each Office update in this pool, the error stopped the View Composer vCenter Server server then NO more desktops in any pool could not be refreshed.

So, my question is... What is the mechanism for deleting snapshots in a pool?

    Thank you

You should not disable the pool.  Just disable commissioning of the pool.  In this way the opportunity to recompose do kick in while you do your work on the parent.  When you are finished, you can enable and then commissioning on the pool again.

  • ZeroClient and pool view selection screen

Currently have a problem when a user selects a pool of offices, this pool may be out of jobs, they will get the message that no desktop computers are avilable and just walk to the machine.   Question could someone come behind them and try again.  Is it all the same to drive this overrun time or logoff after a failed attempt of connection to the pool

No, this isn't one, done a bit of research and this has been added in fact to 4.6.

    Here's the Administrator's guide:

Set a Single Sign-on time-out to show users

By default, when a user connects to view the display Client Server connection, single-sign - on (SSO) is enabled. The user doesn't have to connect again to connect to the desktop view. During a desktop session, a user can leave the office, allow it to become inactive and return without having to authenticate again. To reduce the risk that someone else could start using the desktop session, you can set a time period after which the user SSO credentials are no longer valid.

You configure the SSO time-out by setting a value in the view LDAP. When you change the view LDAP on a login to view server instance, the change is propagated to all instances of server connection view replicated.

The timeout is set in minutes. The time counter starts when the user connects to the server to connect to the view. For example, if you set the value to 10 minutes, the credentials of the user SSO are struck down 10 minutes after the user connects to the server to connect to view.

NOTE on computers desktop view that are used in local mode, a cash operations that lasts longer that the SSO time-out value causes SSO powers the user expire. For example, you can set the time-out to 10 minutes SSO. A user can connect to the view connection server and discover a desktop computer. If extraction is 20 minutes, the user must log in again to connect to the local computer, even if the user has not yet spent any time in a desktop session.

    Prerequisites

See the Microsoft TechNet Web site for more information on how to use the ADSI utility on your version of Windows operating system.

    Procedure

    1. 1. start the ADSI utility on your server host connection view.

    2. 2 Select or connect to DC = vdi, DC = DC = int, vmware.

    3. 3 on the object CN = common, UO Global =, OU = propriΘtΘs, attribute set the EAP-SSOCredentialCacheTimeout to the new limit of SSO time-out in minutes.

The default value is - 1, which means that no time-out SSO is defined. A value of 0 disables SSO.

On remote desktops, the new SSO time-out limit takes effect immediately. You don't need to restart the server to connect to view service or the client computer.

On computers that run in local mode, the new SSO time-out limit takes effect the next time that a client computer that hosts the local office sends a message of pulse to view connection to the server.

    I hope this helps.

  • Pool view creation fails to add label

It is quite frustrating. I have a brand new facility to view attached to a 10G SAN. I'll put up a pool automated using clones related with floating of the assignments for the user.

Everything seemed to go ok - vCenter automatically starts the source cloning machine in machines virtual "replica-xxx". This process lasted nearly three hours, and while it seemed that he was going to the end, it throws an error saying "a general error has occurred: internal database error.

Then it progressed to remove all of the clones he does, so I'm back where I started, just half an afternoon lost on a process fails with a "General" error

What causes this? Unfortunately, since this is a new installation and the event logging is disabled by default in view administrator (why?), I have apparently no newspaper to look at to try and resolve the cause.

Installation of the server all new, completely fresh, material is excessive for what I do, so I don't think its resources. Why did it fail? And why he deletes all of the clones he just took almost 3 hours to create?

Hmm, ok. You should review the problem of 3 hours, its usually related to storage.

To get the functionalty you want you have a "floating pool" not "consecrated", then more, then a user can use a desktop computer.

  • Problems with view 4.5 and PCOIP screen resolution.

I know this question has been asked before, but I have yet to find a solid solution. The last activity that I saw on this was in October 2010, so I thought I would like to start over rather than resurrecting an old thread. Please see below the description of the problem.

We have a number of XP virtual machines configured in a dynamic pool for our users. The pool settings are configured to allow a maximum of 4 monitors, with a resolution 1920 x 1200 on each monitor max. Users report that when they log in and try to change the resolution, the settings tab in the display properties page disappeared.

Thanks to this research, I stumbled upon VM KB article 1020809, updated less of a month earlier, indicating a fix for this problem (changing the registry NoDispSettingsPage value to 0). I did it on my main template, however, when users log in is set to 1 return.

There was also a thread in this forum who suggested changing the option multi-screen in the settings of the Pool to 1, leaving vCenter update, then change it back and then by a stop and start on all machines. I tried as well, but it has not solved this problem.

Finally, I tried to turn OFF the option to hide the Group Policy Settings Page, but the setting remains at 1. Can I change the resolution of the screen via a script (it does not persist by a closing/opening session, that is another matter), but can not get the settings tab appears.

I saw there is a model adm for Vista or Windows 7, but I am not mistaken, is there anything more that can be done to XP? I can't understand why this keeps getting ready again to 1 and am hoping that my users will not at all be stuck with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. As a side note, if I change it programmatically, what (s) do I need capture to have persist through a logoff (we use a third-party management tool ProfileUnity call profile)?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

What is the native resolution of the screens in use? I found that view will automatically set resolution in accordance with the native resolution. At least that seems to be the case in my situation.

  • Problems with View Composer / vCenter 4

    Hello

I upgraded my server vCenter v4 yesterday (build 162856) and ran into problems of performance and pages of material due to a collision with the port 8443 - that was used by the View Composer.

Then... I moved my View Composer 18443 port number, that makes all the cunning vcenter work, but now does not work my composer. I changed the port in the overview Manager it connects to and I can get as far as the button complete, when I create a new pool configured automatically. vCenter then creates the folder for him and he removes (or almost) immediately. View Manager then up a ' composer of internal error. Contact your system administrator.

  • Problems when viewing files in the 'My Documents' window

When I look at the files and folders in the My Documents window (in mode ' list') there is a wide space between the columns of information - I can barely hold two columns of names of files on my computer screen even if I do the window the maximum width.  It is a new problem - I used to be able to view the columns 3 or 4 names of files before.  My OS is Windows XP. Can you tell me how to reduce the space between the columns of information?  Thank you.

Thanks for your reply "Tricky", unfortunately it doesn't work in "List" mode, and it is has no column headers.

    Apologies,

I've been guilty of reading what I thought I only saw what I saw in fact.

The only thing I know to which increases the width of the columns in the list view is the size of the names appearing in this column, they are files or folders. Check the lengths of file/folder name by renaming them, there might be some characters non-display, resizing of the window in the vertical direction might help identify the sections where the long name exists (if indeed that is the problem).

    Hello

It seems that the problems with validate selected views and Parse old views of Style both TEST1A and TEST2A occur as a result of the view being defined with the SELECT initial placed in brackets.

I logged a bug about this.

Regarding the result of your Test request, you should be able to get this works using a connection that uses your username biuser2.

When the Test Query window, you must set the login field at the top of this window to your biuser2 connection.

In the case of TEST2A, it has "successfully" carried out an empty SQL string!

  • Monitor Configuration problem (3 views)

    Hi all

The hope that someone could give me a helping hand. I work with a few users with single monitor requirements. They want to be able to have a single thin client with 3 connected screens. Then, they want to be able to launch two separate VMs, each using only 2 of the 3 monitors. Basically, they want to be able to have a virtual machine running on the screen on the left and in the Center and the second virtual machine running on the monitor on the right and Center.

I have my set of virtual machines to use 2 screens, but when they start, they go only to 1 monitor. If I place the virtual machines allowing 3 shows the virtual machine will extend on all 3 monitors. That would be fine, but when I try to disable the 3rd monitor in the virtual machine it does not the setting. Once I said "keep settings" the 3rd monitor charge in.

We lack PCoIP, Horizon view 6.

    Any help would be great.

I'm sorry to say that this is not an option today - the parameters on the client are window / full screen (single monitor) or multi-monitor (all monitors). Display settings are always supplied by the client, it is not really possible to put inside the desktop computer and make them stick - finally the client will resend the topology and things will adjust again. You can trigger a feature request for the customer to choose the monitors to run sessions in - it would be run entirely by code client side if implemented.
