• USB problems with view 5.3

  I have problems with view on an Atrust W100 5.3 zero client attempts to use a Magtek USB card.  When I plug the blow of the card into a USB port and the test with the notebook, the device works, but when I try to slip something in QuickBooks POS there are missing characters and the card is not recognized.  I contacted MagTek and they pointed me to a download that I can run and slow the flow of data entry, however when I try to run it it is unable to recognize any USB device.  Is there anything I can do to get this MagTek card reader to work with the view 5.3?

  Looks like you're not actually redirecting the USB device, and instead it is considered a local keyboard to the zero client, with the keystrokes that results from being sent all over the office.   If View Composer creates clones based on a snapshot, but does not change the SID or (especially) the CMID.

  KMS is the only practical solution in VDI for the linked clones license.

  Without changing the CMID, KMS will not work.

  So, Win7 with linked clones will not be possible, or (if you use a clumsy method to change the CMID) supported by Microsoft.

• Error VDM with View Composer "View Composer is not available for this EGG."

  Even after installing View dial on my VC and configure the database according to the Administrator's Guide, I get this message when I click on the button "check to see composer compatibility.  I have the 'view composer' service on the Victoria Cross started and running.  I can't find anything on the web that makes reference to this message.  Thoughts anyone?  Thank you.

  Do you use the Virtual Infrastructure 3.5 U3? This version is required by the composer of the view - see the Administrator's guide, at the bottom of page 15.

• Problems with view 4.5 and PCOIP screen resolution.

  I know this question has been asked before, but I have yet to find a solid solution. The last activity that I saw on this was in October 2010, so I thought I would like to start over rather than resurrecting an old thread. Please see below the description of the problem.

  We have a number of XP virtual machines configured in a dynamic pool for our users. The pool settings are configured to allow a maximum of 4 monitors, with a resolution 1920 x 1200 on each monitor max. Users report that when they log in and try to change the resolution, the settings tab in the display properties page disappeared.

  Thanks to this research, I stumbled upon VM KB article 1020809, updated less of a month earlier, indicating a fix for this problem (changing the registry NoDispSettingsPage value to 0). I did it on my main template, however, when users log in is set to 1 return.

  There was also a thread in this forum who suggested changing the option multi-screen in the settings of the Pool to 1, leaving vCenter update, then change it back and then by a stop and start on all machines. I tried as well, but it has not solved this problem.

  Finally, I tried to turn OFF the option to hide the Group Policy Settings Page, but the setting remains at 1. Can I change the resolution of the screen via a script (it does not persist by a closing/opening session, that is another matter), but can not get the settings tab appears.

  I saw there is a model adm for Vista or Windows 7, but I am not mistaken, is there anything more that can be done to XP? I can't understand why this keeps getting ready again to 1 and am hoping that my users will not at all be stuck with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. As a side note, if I change it programmatically, what (s) do I need capture to have persist through a logoff (we use a third-party management tool ProfileUnity call profile)?

  What is the native resolution of the screens in use? I found that view will automatically set resolution in accordance with the native resolution. At least that seems to be the case in my situation.

  Running an older system, XP Pro with MS Office 2000 Small Business. In 'view', ' rearrange icons by > ', my flash drives boils down to "Auto arrange", instead of "Snap to grid", which is how I want the page layout. However, the storage hard disk a folder in "My Documents" do not go back. How to change this default setting on my flash drives? One is a 4 gb Lexar, one is a 2 GB generic. Only Word documents are on these files.

• Problem with connecting to Vcenter, with vSphere ESX

  Hi, I'm going to start this discussion again.

  Initially, I set up a cluster with two ESX host and configured HA. VCenter is located on a virtual server on one of the ESX hosts.

  At this point, everything has worked, tested HA several times and worked perfectly. Two days later, I HAD to reinstall the Vcenter server. That's when it all started. I added successfully to the cluster hosts configured HA. and I tried to test HA. Restart the ESX host, vms where migrated and strted upward on the other server, BUT the server has been restarted never maid she return to Vcenter. I could connect to it via customer, but not hollow vSphere Vcenter. After much work, I tried to disable HA and reconnect the ESX. This finnaly worked. A configured HA once again on two ESX, worked. After another reboot, it's the same thing. I have tried to restart all services, seems to me that something is wrong with the HA agent. Is this a re-install of ESX servers using?

  One of the possible reasons could be the speed of the internet thanks to which time can take to the buffer. It has one or more of the following could cause this;

  ·         Amount of RAM (Random Access Memory) used on the computer

  ·         Amount of memory available on the computer

  Method 1: You can pause the video and let the video buffer for a few minutes before selecting the 'Play' button again. Giving the download a few minutes to catch up while the video is paused can help solve the problem.

  If you use the utility replace sviconfig from there to return to default certificates the certificate error disappears?

• View composer 2.5 installation problem

  We did a separate server for our oracle 11 and the other for our vCenter. (the two server are 64-bit win2008 SP2 Enterprise)

  So first of all, we made the DB for the vcenter server and installed the server vcenter without problems.

  Then we made a second database for the composer of the view and try to install the composer 2.5 to vcenter server. but when you get to the screen to enter the DB options, we're stuck.

  Sorry for the multiple posts, so come back to my first posting on the bug in ODBC and .NET, Oracle has brought out a patch for the Windows Client.  The patch number is 9966926.  (connection can be made using the opatch utility that is included with the installation).

  One thing to note is when I was doing my patch, I fails me on update oci.dll.  This happened again after that judgment of the Oracle base services.  When I ran process monitor on my host, I have determined that these services were also hung in the DLL:

  Application system COM +.

  Distributed Transaction Coordinator

  VMWare tools service (this is because I'm running my Virtual Center on a virtual machine)

  Once I confirmed that nothing had a hook in this DLL, the patch was able to successfully apply.  After a reboot, I ran the installer to View Composer and installed.  At this point, I didn't run any test extended beyond installation, but its progression without a doubt.

  Sorry if I'm not clear, English is not my mother tongue.

  vCenter doesn't have to be in a domain. In fact, I even use the VCSA for centuries (new version, this is exactly what need you since the limitations are parties) should not be part of a domain.

  Composer should not find itself in a field no more. You can install local MSDB (SQL Express is very good even for its huge pods but given the huge pods must already have a database server some part...) with the SQL account for authentication, no need to be in a field here.

  Server connection MUST be in a domain. It is mandatory, that you can not install even if you are not.

  You'll also need a domain account for the composer to be able to add computers to the domain.

  This is what it takes, now, you put it in the right place in the display configuration. When you declare your vCenter, for example, you only need to set the accounts needed to communicate with vCenter with sufficient rights (and rights should apply to the ROOT level, not at the level of DATA Center), with the composer with sufficient rights as well (in general, you will use the composer server's local administrator account). To properly configure the composer, you must also declare the area you are going to compose, it's where things can go wrong because the composer must be able to resolve this area, so my advice is to add the domain DNS server (most of the time, DC) as a local for the resolution of domain DNS.
