512 MB SDRAM memory upgrade

HP Pavilion a1106N with original 2 x 256 MB 240 pin DDR2 SDram PC2 3200 mb/s

I need to move to full capacity 4x1Go

My question is:

is this memory ECC or NON ECC is it important? Support site HP does not say ANYTHING about
If I buy ECC is compatible or not and vice versa...

Thank you

Hello pierjean,

The model of motherboard you have in your Pavilion, a 1106n is present . I found the information to your specifications on HP supports, as you can see in the memory section it shows the modules of memory non - ECC 4 GB 533/400 MHZ DDR2 4 x 240 pin DIMM sockets support unbuffered. That is why we should use the same type.

  • Portege 4000 1 GB memory upgrade?

    Hello!
I have an old laptop Toshiba Portege 4000.
The manual indicates a upgrade memory up to 512 MB (2x256MB) is possible. But the technical specification on toshiba-live website indicates an upgrade memory up to 1 GB (2x512MB) is possible.
I brought 2x512MB (SO-DIMM 512 MB SD RAM SDRAM PC133 PC 133 512 MB 144 PINS) ANONYMOUS memory from ebay and it does not work. The system does not start.

Now my question. Can I go up to 1 GB with the Kingston memory recommended toshiba or it just won't work in general?
Anyone here with experience on that?

    Thanks in advance.

    normally a portege 4000 is upgradeble up to 1 GB (2 x 512 MB sdram pc133, 3, 3v)

However the architecture and the number of tokens on the modules can cause an incomptability, so I guess that "misfortune."

on ebay-express you can find them for about 50 US$ (search for portege 4000; memory)

  • Memory upgrade 4000 series problems

    Hi all
I just tried to upgrade the memory of my old P4000. Card, the system should accept 512 MB by memory slot.
So I bought a new brand:

    Technology essential 512 MB SODIMM 144 pin 64MX64 SYNC PC 133 (CT64M64S4W75.16FD)

However the Portege rejects the module as being not compatible (indicated by a sequence of signal beep).
It does not matter what memory slot I use, both give the same result.

Is there a known issue with this kind of module or updating the BIOS must perform the Commission see more big modules then 256 MB? I unfortunetely don't have no available portable alternative to check if the new module itself is maybe defective.

    Comments or suggestions?

    Hi Robin

Well, I found some information on your device. Support for computer laptop max SDRAM PC133 1024 MB (2 x 512 MB). Are you sure that this module memory is compatible with this unit? Maybe the module has a defect.
As far as I know the laptop works properly and without flaws if two modules are similar.
Also, I found a few compatible parts 100% for your laptop.
    You can use:

    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

  • Portege 2000 - memory upgrade

I am the owner of an old but good laptop Toshiba Dynabook SS 2000 (aka portege) 2000. The material is: P750 / 128 M / 20 Gb. long ago, RAM has been increased to 256 MB, but this is not enough.

Is it possible to replace with new 256 MB 128 MB module to increase the 384 MB RAM?
Or maybe the only adjust the volume as well as on the map?

Portege European 2000 can be upgraded to 512 MB. Memory module 256 MB compatible except for the number PA3158U - 1. 25 M.

I think you can use it on your Dynabook SS 2000. Check it out.

  • Satellite Pro M40: After 1 GB of memory upgraded only only 980MB are shown

Hello, I upgraded my 512 MB of memory with an additional 1 GB module.

However only 980 Mb memory is recognized by the Bios and the OS xp prof. -Any ideas?

Some of the Pro M40 units support a shared memory graphics card. Maybe the difference was reserved to the graphics card.

A question: did you use the modules of memory recommended by Toshiba?

  • Satellite A60 memory upgrade does not help

Hi, I have a Satellite A60-793 and I want to upgrade the memory by adding a 512 MB of memory currently installed.

I tried to install a 512 MB DDR PC2700 333 MHz SODIMM module, but the system does not boot to the top: it emits a long whistle blow and then stops automatically. If I remove the module, the system starts properly.

I have already updated my BIOS, I here something more, I can do to make it work?

You simply used bad, faulty or not fully considered supported modules.

Recommend to test it with another new

  • Satellite L30-113 does not recognize memory upgrade

Just bought a L30-113 with 512 MB and bought a Crucial 512 MB upgrade.
It mounted, but it was not recognized on boot-up the top.
Tried both modules of memory in the two shots together and single, recognizes however never 512 MB of memory, of course the two work packages and two jacks work, but not all.

Checked in the bios and recognizes only 512 MB, also checked in config/advanced and not limited to 512 MB of MEMORY, I know the bios is the latest available.

Without doubt this is a problem of compatibility. Return the new module and buy one from a reliable brand. But you shouldn't really open a new topic, because there are already two topics for this problem:

  • SDRAM memory

My MacBook support a 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory, but I find on the internet a SODIMM.

Is it the same? Can I replace it?

I am trying to upgrade my MacBook as it is to slow down and someone told me that I can improve this way. I installed El Capitan, but has not helped.

    Any other advice?

    Thank you

If you need memory so I recommend looking to OWC, DataMemor Crucial. SODIMM specifies a type of module DIMM SDRAM defines the type of used flash memory. Your use of MB:

Maximum memory 6.0 (actuals) 4.0 GB (Apple)
    Memory locations 2-200-pin SO-DIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 (667 MHz)

Search memory with these specifications, and you will be fine.

  • Computer HP Desktop M1188A upgraded the HARD drive and memory upgrade possible

    Hello

I have a HP Desktop M1188A running XP Media Center 2005.  The computer runs very slowly and was only 27.6 GB of free space left on the hard drive with a total area of 149GB.  It has 512 MB of memory installed a 4 GB maximum.  Speed supported is PC3200 MB/sec.  Type of DDR.  DIMM slots 4.  160 GB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive.  Fact hard drive 160 GB 7200 RPM SATA means it is a SATA connection?

I want to switch the HARD disk like this I hope that the computer runs faster.  I'm a complete novice with respect to the operation of computers.  What to buy to upgrade the HARD drive?

Will it also upgrade the installed memory?  If so, what to do?

    Everything I need to know?

    Thank you.

    See you soon,.

    Michelle,

Try for battery HP to THE Bing search engine, I found several sites in line with the Chargers and batteries. BattDepot Australia seems to have decent prices... At$ 24.49 for the loader and THE $37,49 for battery. If you have not yet checked the HP battery reminder page, I recommend you do this first.

  • HDX16-1040us | Memory upgrade options

I just bought a laptop HDX16-1040us and now I would like to upgrade memory.

In the tech specs it is said that they used 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM SO DIMM 200 pin. Can I use the modules of DDR3 SDRAM memory also? However, I see that I have an INTEL PM45 Chipset and the Chipset DDR2 and DDR3 support.

The chipset can, but the locations of memory are clavetés only to accept a type of memory.

  • Memory upgrade cannot be found.

This is my first time on a community forum. I have a HP/Compacq, Compacq Presario desktop computer.

    Model: CQ5205Y - 64-bit win 7 Home Memory Specifications:

    240 pin DDR2 SDRAM PC2 - 4200 MB non ECC unbuffered memory

64-bit 2MB memory upgraded to 8 MB Max.

My question is, I spent an hour on the phone with HP support, tech told me once that he could not find compatible memory sticks for updating my pc. He said that it would cost $69, 99-99, $99 to buy memory sticks.

Where can I buy, what to buy for my model CQ5205y, Desktop/Compacq Presario?

spend at least 4 MB 2MB. I do not know what plant actually installed in the case, because he is still guaranteed inder.

bought three months ago. Technical support said that I can open this case myself to upgrade. Is it better to take the CPU in

  • 9150 memory Upgrade - Question once again

    Good day to all,

I have 2, Dimension 9150 who receive upgrades. The first machine was fine with OS WIN 7 / 32 PRO. Updated BIOS (A07), not installed the required software, no problem, everything no problem. RAID driver install also, no problem. Problem I have is the memory upgrade. Get machine 2 update, but not until this problem is resolved.

Been revised post old topic of memory and still has not found an absolute remedy to my question. Machine (1 and 2) are 2 GB; 4 512 PC2-4200 (all locations showing on bios config).  I installed 4; 1 GB PC2-5300. Problem? Must not like system accepts 4 GB maximum and is also accepted speed Max.

My problem is 2 GB in slot 1-2 (white) are good, no problems (boots to windows without error beeps). Check the BIOS and find sticks of memory are reading fix it. When I add the other 2 sticks of 3-4 (black), error on boot beeps and lights 1-3 lights telling me memory error.

I recently updated a dimension 4700 and used memory not dell Komputer Bay. Could see all the modules and showed 3.76, so I bought the same memory for this machine. I know that in the past, Dell machines are "FINICKY" when it comes to memory.

Is this the case? If so, Crucial memory has been discussed and I might add 2 (2 GB each)? That's what I was not able to see the answers. Part of the crucial says Yes, post only memory. The other Yes was that I could use sticks of 2 GB. Spec note 1 GB is max stick, per slot.

I am at a loss, if you're looking for an idea on a direction.

Yes, low density 2 rank INTEL chipset compatible ram works fine. The other way to say it isn't that 380 Precsion ecc ram works fine.   The GX620 has the same problem where we will see more ram by the bios but total ram is limited to 4 concerts by the chipset.  Upgrade to a precision 380 allows a full 8 gigabytes of ram.

You could put 4 x 2 gig and he would show even in the bios but the ram would not be usable and the machine does not start with 64 bit OS.
