564 Black XL cartridges come in many sizes - Help!

I have a HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one printer that I bought a year ago.  I took my XL 564 black cartridge (it's almost 1 inch thick) of the HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one printer.  This cartridge also has a 5 symbol faces above the number.

I went to Staples (where I bought the printer) to try and replace.  Found one for $28 + who says 'Black 564 XL' and thought that it was.  It turned out be only 3/4 in. thick and does not fit into my printer.

How will I know if I buy an inch thick cartridge (the only one that fits), before we get home and realize my mistake? The staff was no help, they were simply surprised that labels were the same and that the product was different.

Thanks a lot in advance for you help.

Sharon

The "new and improved" black cartridge 564xl is the 3/4 "wide, the previous version was abandoned.  The new cartridge is slightly smaller and less expensive than the original 564XL.  It will always work with your printer, it must be centered in the slot with a little room on each side.  Correctly, it will then break into position.  See the page here for more information.

  • Re: 564 Black XL cartridges come in many sizes - Help!

I have a Photosmart C6380 printer, I bought 3 years ago.  I had used the old cartridge 564XL black width bigger and with success.   I had a few of these cartridges, but now they are all gone.  So I used a no 564 Black XL I had on hand.  When that was missed, I bought a new black 564XL.  This is one of the resized nine who are a bit more narrow.  While it fits into the slot, my printer does not recognize that it is there, saying that it is missing or damaged.  If I swap back in almost exhausted standard size 564 black, my printer recognizes, start printing.  I read in other posts, that other people have had the same problem.  The new resized 564XL black cartridge is not recognized by their printer either, and it is with other printer models as well.

Is there one solution to this other than to use a standard size in the future?  It will cost me more money.

FYI, I am 100% sure that the new design of cartridge is the problem.  Before finding messages about the problem of resizing, I tried all the possible alternatives - reset of the printer, cleaning the heads, checking the cartridge, 1 back again 564XL black for another thinking it was defective, etc, etc.

If HP disappeared and 'improved' something and in the process screwed many of us more?

    Hi Clara.

Yes, I cleaned the contacts before, and I just did it again.  Slight change - the printer recognizes now again my roughly dry Age standard size 564 black, but she is always to treat the new cartridges - as well standard and XL as missing or damaged.

News flash!  I stopped just to write this to fool around a bit more with the printer and I fixed it!  I took out all of the ink cartridges.  I had noticed before watching all the "pines" making contact with the chips on the bottom of the ink cartridge, that one of the pins for black was not in exact alignment with the others.  Both times that I had cleaned with a dry swab, only there was no change in alignment.  So with nothing to lose, I used my finger to them jiggle back.  The result, the 4th PIN for black was now lining up perfectly with the others.  So I put the ink cartridges including the new XL Black, and the printer now recognized!

So therefore the misalignment of the PIN was the problem all along.  Now why the old standard cartridge was recognized while the stems were out of alignment, but the new cartridge was never (remember I kept their rotation back), who knows!

So now, I have a printer to work once more.  I don't know if this problem happens again at another change of the cartridge, but I hope I can realign the pins again.

    Thanks for your help.

  • I have a HP Photosmart more and I'll have the time the harder the 564 black ink cartridge installation.

I have a HP Photosmart more and I'll have the time the harder the 564 black ink cartridge installation. It it not a cartridge 564xl. I am really considering to resume this printer and turning it.

    Hello

What seems to be the issue. His are more in there or something like that? If so, check the icon on top of the cartridge, it should be a Hexagon, if you want to mount a "bow tie" it does not, since it is a photocartridge that is not supported by your printer.

  • Nine color cartridges 564 show partially full. 564 Black XL cartridge show full

After that I inserted 564 new ink cartridges in my printer HP Photosmart 6520, 564 color cartridges show partially full, the 564 full black display XL Black print cartridge.  Is this normal?   Bill

    Update.

A HP supervisor contacted me by phone to discuss the problem of ink cartridge that I have with my printer HP which is indicating nine color ink cartridges are less then showing full.

Much to my surprise, the supervisor volunteered to replace the printer.

I was hoping there would be a way to reset the cartridge ink level display, so it would be more accurate.  However, it seemed certain that it was a hardware problem and not something I could fix it.

The new printer is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, 13 November 2013.

  • 564 black ink cartridge

Sombody HELP!  In 3 days, I bought 6 ink cartridges black to fit the task of black ink with an emblem of the bowtie and none of them fit and they all have a Pentagon inside on the cartridge. The outside has NO photo of Pentagon or bow tie or a word on the boxes. They all came from different stores and HP. How can I tell from the outside of the box if it contains a black bowrie or the Pentagon black cartridge? I'm broke. Cannot afford another mistake.

page here can help.  The cartrdige you need is the photo cartrdige, he won't say black anywhere on the packaging.  (The previous packaging that says black picture was confused people who needed a black cartrdige).

I've seen a few suggestions from the people of HP in the forum to Contact HP, they can provide replacements, even though most of the cases that I remember was for users who need black but got photo cartrdiges.

  • HP 564: Black ink cartridge

I called four different people at HP and gives me the race around. They said that they will replace a! I can't go back to the store because I've already placed in my printer. Who can help me with this problem?

This can be a problem, you can solve with your printer. What model is your printer? I can send on some troubleshooting steps.

  • Photosmart 7520: 7520 Photosmart black too big HP 564 black cartridge for insertion in the cartridge tray

My Photosmart HP 7520 has 2 black cartridges.  One is narrow with the same width as the color cartridges and the other is larger and fits OK into its slot on the far right.  Close cartridge is supposed to be inserted into the slot on the left.  I bought 3 new cartridges of 564 black but it's widest 564 black.  How to find the narrow black cartridge?

    J_A_A

564 cartridges are labeled with icons for identifications. Black regular has a Pentagon on it and black Photo has a 'Butterfly' icon (and image of the camera on the package). I think that you're looking for is the photo in the black.

BTW, regular 564 also has a narrow black (standard load) and more wide (XL), so make sure match the icon, not the size.

  • Can I use a cartridge with extra flat 564 black ' photo' in a HP Photosmart B110a? Perth, Australia

Can I use a cartridge with extra flat 564 black ' photo' in a HP Photosmart B110a? Perth, Australia

No, you can't use a Photo cartridge instead a black cartridge. Photo black and black are not the same and that they are not interchangeable. Here a link to a document that I site the prior statement which also goes to explain why the photo cartridges have been renamed and the differences in the picture and Black cartridges. I hope this helps.

  • incompatible 564 black cartridge in eprinter Photosmart Premium C310A

My just went black cartridge 564XL empty and I bought 2 x 5 packs of 564 cartridges in an online transaction (3 color more photo and black) that are labeled "564 setup. I did use one of the other cartridges that I prefer to use XL cartridges and just these available as backups between purchases. When I installed the black print cartridge (cartridge close in black wide slot with the corresponding symbol) I got the message 'cartridges listed above are not intended to be used for this printer as it is currently configured'. {The content removed}, but it doesn't work on my printer. Should I just throw these 564 cartridges "setup" and he chalked it up to a lesson learned or is there a solution to this. By the way which will run into the same problem when I try and use the "setup" cartridges 564 color or is it only black who is affected?

    Hello

The cartridges you purchaseds are labeled Setup? Where did you bought these as setup cartrdiges should only be received by the printer, not bought in a shop. Setup of cartridges are to be used when you first install the printer. So they will not work in a printer that has already been put in place.

  • C310A: is the slimline 564 black cartridge? You need to replace the 364-setup. 364XL is too fat.

My C310A has worked perfectly as a network printer and photocopier
13 months with a heavy workload on the side of the copy.  I had bought a
number of packs of cartridges HP original and replaced a couple.  The
Install black cartridge is still there but with very little ink in there then
When photocopying started to fade today I went to install a new 364
cartridge.  Blacks only I have are all XL which does not fit
in the installation location.  Were included in the packs I bought three CYM
Slimline cartridges and a black XL.  I replaced the cartridge XL and
then put the black original installation in the K Groove to get things
work.  Were reported as 'missing or damaged '.  Color copy
has worked as before with virtually no black which implies that XL Black
was ignored.  So I tried to copy 'black', but which is released
empty.  Can I threw a black XL perfect condition.

I have two questions, at least.  The XL slot is black only
impression or can it provide ink for the printing of color as well?  Secondly,.
where the United Kingdom can you get 364 slimline black cartridges?  All the
online stores seem to stock XL only Variant.

In response to myself.  Had a closer look at available online thecartridges and find a supplier for the black photo.  There the black symbol of the can on it.  Meanwhile, I reinstalled the new black print cartridge (the wideer one) and was able to print a complete report.  Tried a color photocopy and black came fine, which seems to show that the black cartridge IS used in photo printing.

Again, I am impressed.  This is a fantastic printer.  I've always liked HP (16 years and a half dozen printers) and particularly for their copy Linux supports.  They keep HPLIP right up-to-date.

  • Why 2 types of HP564 black inkjet cartridges?

I just bought my HP Photosmart B209A last month. I ran out of black ink. No problem... I need a Ref. 564 black cartridge. So, I went to my local Wal-Mart and bought one. Got it home and cannot install it. The packaging said HP564 Photosmart so I think I bought the right one. but no! Of course, this is after I opened and cannot return it. Thanks, now I'm out $10.00 all because HP can't score there products correctly. Why are there 2 types of 564 black cartridges? Yes, I know (now) that one is for photos and one is for normal printing and some model printers both use. But my new B209A only uses the Pentagon grand style. No 564 a or 564b or maybe a different number. No other designation unless you take the time to look under the 546 and see the little 'black picture. Who knows, there is nothing in the manual indicating the difference. It clearly states that this printer takes cartridge 564.

Obvoiusly Walmart knows no difference because him are all mixed in the same line.

Nice, gee thanks again HP! HP will do something? I guess I'm doing my part to increase your profits. The next time I give themselves as if by magic on all HP products. Pretty pathetic for something as stupid as an inkjet cartridge.

    Hi @SuzHP

Sorry to hear talk about the experience that you try to get the right cartridge. You can either buy for the PS 7520...

    a regular HP564 black (return on page ~ 250)

    OR

    HP564XL black (~ 550 performance)

The printer is a 5-ink system so you have black, Cyan, Magenta, yellow and black Photo. The best place for information on the compatibility of the cartridge is SureSupply or app eSupplies

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/Ink-toner-cartridge-printhead/cartridge-compatibility-how-to-find-out-which-cartridges-are/TD-p/740561

What was the product not. on the HP564 you purchased?

    Thanks, Ciara

  • HP Photosmart 7520 problem installation (left side black) black ink cartridge

I replaced the ink cartridges in the HP Photosmart the 7520 front unit and had no problem. It is very easy.

Now, I had to replace the print cartridge black on the left side of the ink cartridges. The old man is very good, but I can't get the new cartridge to go! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I pulled the plastic wrap and twisted the orange lever down.

I can't have the back of the cartridge to slide between the side of the bracket and the cartridge color next to it. He won't go. I don't even get it far enough to start the shoot from the front down. I tried to remove the color cartridge, but it does not help. I compared the old and new side by side cartridges. They look the same. Except, the former says 564 - installation, and the news is 564 - XL. I believe that this is the first change since we bought the printer.

    Any ideas?  Thank you.

    Phil Brown

7520 photosmart all-in-in-one using five ink cartridges. Photo, Magenta, Cyan, yellow and black. The cartridge on the left side is a Photo cartridge. This cartridge is not the same as the black cartridge.

Please make sure you are trying to install the Photo cartridge in the left side slot. The Photo ink cartridge will be a "Bow tie" icon and black cartridge will have a "Pentagon" icon on this subject. See the document below to learn more about the difference between a Photo black cartridge:

  • Cannon MG2100 won't recognize black 210XL cartridge

    Original title: Canon MG2100

    INSTALL NEW INK CARTRIDGE-

BUT THIS PRINTER WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE (210XL) BLACK INK CARTRIDGE...
I BOUGHT TWO, OR WON'T WORK...
    PLEASE ADVISE...
    NOTE:
IT IS THE FIRST REPLACEMENT OF THE CARTRIDGE

    Hi Dave,.

Canon sells a range of for residential use inkjet printers that use individual ink cartridges. These printers contain a chip that monitors the use of ink cartridges. The chip is not always accurate, however. In many cases, a cartridge is not really empty when the screen says it is. In these cases, the ink cartridge must be reset and the monitor turned off to be able to use the rest of the ink in the cartridge.

You can follow these instructions and check:

    a. press the button "Reset" once to resume printing if the printer stops and indicates an ink cartridge is nearly empty. The "Reset" button on the Canon printer is indicated by a circle with a triangle reversed in it.

    b. press the "Reset" button"and hold it down for at least five seconds reset the ink cartridge and turn off the analysis of the cartridge.

    c. monitor the ink level in the cartridge once the monitor has been disabled. Replace the cartridge or refill it when the cartridge is empty.

  • Since the update to 2015 CC, "Save for Web" crashes whenever I have it try. Is there a new way to save pictures off in many sizes?

Hey everyone, since I've updated for Creative Cloud 2015, whenever I have tried to use the option 'Save for Web', Illustrator will crash all trying to render the preview. I understand that save for web was marked as legacy in Photoshop - so I feel this feature is on its way out the door. So, I was wondering if there is another way to save an image in many sizes? It was my main reason to use save for web. Under export I don't see the option for several sizes. Thank you!

    James,

Personal Adobe works with issues save for Web, but it can take some time.

Some have re-established CC 2014 because of this.

If uninstalled, you can reinstall CC 2014.

    o-CC-or-any-creative-cloud-application/ http://blogs.adobe.com/kevinmonahan/2014/01/29/Revert-to-a-previous-version-of-Premiere-PR

Or from the tab versions in the app management CC using the CC Office management application, you should be able to go to the top gear icon on the right. Find the Illustrator set up and that there should be an option of previous Versions that you can develop.

Or go to your console CC > menu APPS, then scroll down to find additional applications and the right to it see you blue text (probably all applications.) and choice of menu, open it and jump a little below in black letters menu (video, etc.) there is a blue line SEE the PREVIOUS VERSIONS, click on it, you will see the names of all the software without number , click on install and you will see all earlier versions to install according to your choice.
