• 1588 with no Ethernet device

  It's a very basic question (since I'm new)

  So if you have a card that synchronize your chassis (PXI-6682) and you connect through a cable on the LAN.

  You also call the necessary APIcalls (niSync_SetTimeReference1588OrdinaryClock & niSync_Start1588).

  And on the other end, you have a device that uses 1588 (PTP) and is also connected to the same LAN...

  Should both the card AND the device note between them automatically?

  For now what is happening is:

  • The PXI-6682 is the master (should be slave)
  • The other device is master

  This means, for me, is that they do not seem to communicate with each other.

  Can someone explain to me a nice step by step what I need to do?

  I do some testing with two boards of 6682H... I want to check the synchronization between two chassis.

  I met these two boards and wrote some code to synchronize the frame. So I have a phase of init when I initialize the niSync, then I put the reference time to use ordinary 1588 clock and start participation in 1588. After that, I read the clock status whether it is a master or slave. The problem is this vi always return me defective condition.

  I have not understan why I receive this State... does anyone have an idea?

  What operating system are you using on the chassis with a PXI-6682?  With LabVIEW RT, you need activate the max on each PXI-6682 Ethernet adapter use 1588.

  Now how to synchronize these timestamps are useful for my sample? (I mean I need to sync my calendar with the PXI_CLK10 card) because for now prices will not match the sample rate.

  some of my cards will accept DAQmxSetRefClkSrc but others must use DAQmxSetMasterTimebaseSrc.

  Now I can't use DAQmxSetMasterTimebaseSrc with PXI_CLK10... no idea why...

  So, how did I would synchronize THESE cards...

  Alright I could totally be wrogn with my approach, but I'm new with stuff of OR and using C isn't exactly the best documented piece of the NC.

  We have the same clock sampling for all of these devices, but we are not PLL'ing with the card of the S series, we cannot guarantee that they will all be in phase.  However, given that all of these devices would be based on the same reference clock, we would not drift when we started the task.  Would this work?

  An alternative is to use the new X-Series card, which can also do a simultaneous sampling, but I don't know if it is feesible within your application.

• Cannot replace the PXI embedded clock with clock oscillator PXI-6682 on PXI back plane

  I installed a module of synchronization PXI-6682 to slot 2 of a PXI-1031chassis with a PXI-8110 controller running hypervisor and RT.  The 6682 is installed on the RT system hypervisor for GPS sync during the measurements, but I would like to ask the TCXO on the PXI-1031 chassis backplane (which replaces the PXI embedded clock).  When I try to run the "Clock.vi route" that I found in the finder of the example, all I get are error messages indicating that a parameter for this operation is not valid.  The Terminal source is "Oscillator" and terminal of destination is "PXI-Clk10_In"  How can I determine which parameter is not valid?  Any suggestions?  Thank you

  Hi vugt.

  You are right that the physical switch determines which one to use and you should not have to route signals.  If you are having problems with clocks after the synchronization module 6682 please let us know!

• Impossible to send software trigger using 6682 and OR sync

  I can't send a trigger of global software to the PXI (PXI_Trig0) trigger using the PXI-6682 card and the software of synchronization OR (beta 3.0 and 3.1). I ran the example vi: route software Trigger.vi and chosen my 6682 and terminal of destination PXI_Trig0 resources. I get the error:-1074118606 was held at niSync Connect Software Trigger.vi, driver status: (Hex 0xBFFA4032) the terminal specified source is not valid for this operation. Looking at the terminal of the source, it is selected as the GlobalSoftwareTrigger. If this card does not support a software trigger (I can't imagine why), if not, how can I send a software inside of basket PXI trigger trigger?

  I found this one. Apparently the PXI-6682 card cannot do a software trigger, so I plugged internally PFI2 to PXI_Trig0, then an event of installation time (down, up, down) on PFI2. Time event fires a trigger on PFI2 that triggers a trigger on the backplane PXI PXI_Trig0. I will then put up to fire all stars fires instead of PXI_Trig0 to synchronize my two FPGAS.

  I've updated to itunes version 12.5.1, as well as Windows 10.  If I let my ipod classic finish syncing, everything on the ipod is removed.  So I have to restore the ipod in disk mode so that itunes recognizes the ipod and avoid itunes gel settings.  I found the only way to keep my music is to stop synchronization before it ends or the entire contents of the ipod is removed, and I'll have to go through the process of restoring ipod to factory settings again.  During synchronization, I disable the Windows 10 firewall and anti virus as Apple support told me that it could interfere with itunes.  What is - this with the finishing of sync that removes my ipod?

  It's weird...  Hard drive it is possible to the iPod becomes unreliable and is damaged during the synchronization process.  What happens if you set it up to only synchronize a small number of songs, instead of "all"?  For example, on the settings screen of music from iPod in iTunes, rather than choose to synchronize the entire musical library, choose the option to synchronize playlists, artists, albums, and genres, and select only a SINGLE album.  These songs always get deleted at the end of synchronization?

  If the records are directly under the same parent folder then you should be able to select this parent folder at the top of this screen of Photos and records of the child must be indicated below (if you select "Selected folders") for the selection and timing of the iPad for example

  

  If files are located on your computer, then no, you will not be able to select and synchronize them with your iPad - I created a folder separated (with specific subfolders for holidays/events) for the photos that I have synced my iPad

• Backup iphone to mac, but am trying to get you want to synchronize.

  I have backup my iphone to icloud, but I want to be very sure and also create a backup itunes periodically.  So I read about it and it seems pretty easy.  But I have a question:

  When I connect my iphone 6 to my iMac, iTunes open, because it asks me to authorize the computer, I see up on step 3 (I think it's #3) «Sync iPhone...» "and underneath it says"determine what applications to synchronize. "BUT, I don't want to 'sync', I want only to save.  I unplugged the power cord and it stopped in its tracks.

  My question, why is it automatically attempt to synchronize before I have a chance to start the backup?  IS this a normal behavior?

  Probably because you have iTunes automatically sync value. I think that's the default behavior. I do not use Mac, but in Windows, you're going in Edition > Preferences > devices and you put a check mark prevent auto-sync iPhones. There must be a similar setting for Mac. Which should help you to find a way to find out.

  Once you do this, you can connect the device and not to worry about synchronization and then simply click on the Save button after selecting the phone.

  There is no alternatives that save to iCloud instead of it, or upgrade your software and/or hardware to run a newer version of iTunes.  iOS 10 requires iTunes 12.5.1 find which demands in turn 10.9.5 OSX or newer.

  My files have all been transferred to iCloud.com and the folder and file structure all the shows in my Finder with the cloud / down arrow, but I cannot open the files at all.

  You must have the latest version of iTunes (12.5.1.21). If no updates appear in the Mac App Store, it means probably that it's only available for future versions of Mac OS X, or as it is now called macOS.

  I've recently updated my phone and my mac, (do not know if this is my problem). Tonight when I try to sync my phone, I get a message saying that "my phone can not be synchronized. An unknown error occurred (-50). »

  What is this error and how do I know what to do about an unknown error? When I looked for info and what to do, it seemed I might have to reset my phone to original settings and restore it. I'd rather not have to completely restore my phone (or mac) unless I absolutely have to. Any ideas or suggestions?
