  You cannot install any other processor other than those listed in the service manual.

  They have Chaned the keyboard for me on my laptop and now back 5 keys do not work (M, V, tap, space and F8) I tried and reinstalled dirver

  + the same formatting, and even that did not help me to only have no ide is a coz of the problem or the material of the driver, I must use a USB keyboard to install Xp on.

  So my question is is there a way to fix this or do I have to return the laptop from agen to guarantee?

  I have a problem with my network connections, whenever I am connected via the LAN port Ethernet, wireless connection is automatically disabled and I can't enable it.

  is this normal or should I do something to use both connections at the same time to connect to two different networks.

  This is perfectly normal, and you can fix it easily also.

  Go into the BIOS and in the sub-menu of device configuration, modify the LAN/WLAN, set active to disabled.

  Save the setting it by hitting the F10 key and again when you go out (save the settings and exit).

  Now the wireless stays on when you connect by using a LAN cable.

  The only available for your model Wireless N card is the Broadcom adapter of abgn with the reference number used in the country where you live - 441530-001 or 002-441530.  (Chapter 3, p. 29-30).

  You can install a wireless card for your model (not the 6710 (b) and it must have the part number HP on it or it won't work.

  My recommendation is to do a search by the part number HP on eBay and get an opportunity but tested and functional.

  I have problem with 6715 b computer laptop my sister. Fans runs almost all the time at full speed, and all is hot as h * all the time, even at idle. She also sometimes closes during startup (which takes forever even when formatted)

  I reinstalled Win7 vista rather original, no change. I tried to find the update of the bios, but I'm confused ho to do.

  I used the tool to update the bios sp41979 (or something like that) which suppose to make and bootable USBstick or diskette or CD, well, it didn't work. It just won't start him. Just said; no system disk (or something like that)

  It formatted my USBstick about 2 hours! because it does not quickformat!

  My bios version is that F05 dated the 26.4.2007. I hope that the bios update will fix this problem. Because it certainly is not dust, which warms and slows down the system.

  I wish someone could help me with this problem.

  Ok. So of course, I downgrade to vista and bios through windows update. BIOS version should not change if I instal 7...

• 5 year old HP Compaq 6715 b POST more

  The lights are on but nobody home...

  I had to replace my laptop at the end of the year but annoyingly it's dead.  It would be useful to bring back to life that I'm not sure what to replace it with yet.

  He entered mode "sleep" during use, the battery is fully charged.  I turned it on and after 5 minutes or more, the screen went white.  After that it wouldn't start or if it was, the screen was blank and I couldn't tell.

  I played with it and got tempting near loading when the screen went white to new windows.

  Since then, under the power of the battery, at startup, the led power and muted sound light light up, the drive light flashes and light flashes 8 times before going out.  The power and mute turned on lights but nothing else.

  the same thing happens with current alternative, with or without battery installed except the charging light is not at all flash.

  I saw the play on Nvidia GPU but mine doesn't have one under the heatsink from the CPU.

  I do not think that there is some time the CPU overheated and shut the system down, but it was restarted after cooling.  Would be - this solder CPU came adrift?

  I don't mind repair or bust, the data are all on my desktop PC, anyway.  I don't think it's worth spending the money on it unless there is very little.

  Both the hand & CMOS batteries are good.

  IMPORTANT UPDATE - IT WORKS AGAIN

  Not having all the answers, I browsed the net and found that some HP models suffer from an overheating processor graphics (GPU).  Mine has not been mentioned as being healed in this way

  Given that the laptop did not work, I have had no qualms about trying the suggested correction.  I downloaded the service manual that showed me all the necessary measures to dismantle the laptop.

  After having stripped the jury for the most part, I covered it with corrugated cardboard covered in foil, leaving only the square footprint of the Commission under the exposed GPU (3 cm square).  I then submitted to 2 minutes exposure under a spotlight 275W placed at 1 cm above the square hole.  I removed the lamp, the vertical pressure and put Council lit the GPU for 1 minute.

  I got a digital temp gauge monitor the heat, it's 260C right by the lamp.  The Council needs about 180 c to refresh the welds.

  Rebuilt the laptop and it works very well even Windows had no complaints!

  One of the laptops used by cheri Fiels Service Tec had his corrupt hard drive and should be formatted as it would not start, just kept looping through the sequence of boot time and time again... unfotunatly person knows if there is an installation disc exceeds is came up with it and if that was the case where sound now... so where can I get an a copy of XP Pro to get back on the laptop drive. The sticker is still on it, so we always have the activation key

  Personally, I would consider installing Windows 7, because the drivers are available. If you don't have a spare part Wiondows 7 license, Windows XP is indeed a good choice of relief.

• Compaq 6715 b No. WiFi help requested

  I just made a new clean install of Windows XP sp3 and can't seem to get the wifi working. I just bought this 2nd hand computer. Everything seems to work except the WiFi. I think I installed all the drivers, but I'm not sure. I have the little blue light at the top of the keyboard, but still nothing.

  I have zero unknown in Device Manager.

  I have two monitors icon in the status bar that says "Bluetooth Network" (a network cable is unplugged), but I don't have any bluetooth device.

  The other icon of two monitors is the Internet cable which is connected and working.

  I reinstalled the card wifi without result, it doesn't seem fair... Check in information system/network and there was no wireless adapter. So, is this map? Mobo?

  I agree that the motherboard has a problem.

  (Being the exact same model) wireless card would have passed the BIOS check and worked, because the map is a map of known work, or you would have gotten the unsupported BIOS wireless card stop Code if the motherboard has picked up the card and BIOS has rejected.
