• General issues (iFilter, .syf and EM simulation environment)

  Hello!

  I have a few general questions, ranging from corresponding EM simulation symbol creation and design of network environment. I would be really grateful if someone could take some time to respond to these in as much detail as possible.

  (1) I use iMatch Wizard in iFilter to design the matching network of entry for the LNA and PA. But I noticed that I get the best correspondent for the LNA (verified by Zin measurement at the source of the device with the included matching network) when I do the correspondence for the combined impedance. However, in the case of the PA, this happens only if I design the network with the correct impedance and not its complex conjugate. Anyone know why this is the case? Or by popular practice, in which case the combined complex should be used for the corresponding network design?

  (2) how can I create my own .syf file to be used as a symbol for a system I design? If I have the .syf how do I appear in my list of existing library of symbols?

  (3) in the EM simulation environment, how to decide the spacing of the grid? Yet once, EMsight I cannot add ports in the structure of Employment, if the structure is not aligned with the grid. How to manage the grid alignment so that the ports are attached without worries? Also, in the EM structure is an available at the entrance x and is coordinated to a partciular shape/structure so that it will sit in the coordinates and will allow me to build the forms around him?

  1. it is the plug.  You are probably using the gamma to the research in the output in the design of LNA (so your load must be combined), but using the desired gamma (manufacturer?) load design PA

  2. up to the v11, it's probably easier to just import the .syf in each project where you want to use: project > Circuit symbols > import symbol.  In v11, just help > show files/directories... > AppDataUser, create a folder named symbols and empty the file .syf in there.

  3 EMSight is ideal for the subset of the problems to which it applies, but otherwise it's pretty restrictive.  The ports must be on the limit, either on the walls or up/down drivers.  The latter requires a via, which does not incorporate to turn off automatically. etc.

  X and are grid sizes are defined in the enclosure.  When you draw, you can press the tab key to enter the coordinates manually.  However, I recommend that you check the mesh on the structure of your EM before you simulate to make sure that you are not shorting adjacent shapes, or decompose adjacent metal.  Download AXIEM, it blows EMSight out of the water.

• Preview RAM and general issues of speed

  Dear experts,

  I have a little problem. When I go for a RAM Preview, sequelae decides to stop and have a think for a few minutes. This occurs even on images low resolution and without any audio.

  I'm also a bit disappointed by the speed General I get in After Effects, but fear it's something simple, that I do in my memory settings.

  Please take a look below at my preferences of the AE and system information. Thanks much for any help. (There is not much else running on my computer)

  The ADF analysis both paper size? Can I use glass scan to scan both sides of a document? Digitization program analyses multi. Scan many pictures and she's going to crop?   Yes you can use glass to scan both sides, but to do this, you will need to analyze 1 side (part 1) at the time, and then return the document to scan the 2nd face.

  Hello!

  First of all, I am a real beginner in the 'world of LV in real-time. I'm at the beginning of a new project where a part of the system consists of a PXI with RT OS system, including a GPIB interface. This interface must be connected to several meters of picoamp Keithley (model 6485 & 6487). The RT code should read data from Keithley devices and also run certain commands on devices (like zero of them, turn the high voltage, etc..). The other part of the application of the RT PXI will have a TCP/IP connection to a Siemens S7 system and send data more receive incoming orders to be executed on the Keithleys. Anyway, Siemens via TCP/IP interfacing is another great challenge and could be a topic for another future post. Now, I want to just treat the GPIB part...

  I would ask people familiar with PXI RT (and possibly GPIB on these platforms) for best practice & advice:

  1. I had the official driver of Textronix for LabVIEW ( http://www.tek.com/specialty-instruments/6485-software/models-6485-6487-and-6514-ivi-visa-based-driv... ), but the pilot works via a DLL. I think that this is not a good idea (is it even possible?) to use a DLL on a RT operating system and adds more complexity (there will be a lot of PXI systems later). Therefore we should implement our own driver using basic VISA, am I right?
  2. I would like to have a robust system of RT, so it should automatically detect all Keithley devices connected, and also model check type (only model 6487 a voltage supply option). I guess that if VISA Runtime is installed on the RT operating system, so I can also use the 'VISA find Resource.vi' for a list of available devices GPIB? I'll also have to program a function to handle the scenario when a crimp module is disabled or removed from the string, so the RT operating system it goes not down, but it shouldn't be a problem...

  1 dll are compibled for Windows.  So that won't work on RT, Pharlap, VxWorks or RT Linux operating system.  You will need to do your own driver using VISA calls.

  2 since you have to manage different Keithley instruments, I highly recommend to go with an OBJECT-oriented approach.  Most of the similar instruments should have the same commands, so I doubt that you will have a deep hierarchy.

  Now, my advice is to do all of your creation of pilot and testing on a Windows machine.  All of the code that your development should work just find when you take for a RT system.  This is the command structure that counts more than anything.

• General issues related to my router E2000

  Hello all - I recently bought/installed my E2000. Firmware version is1.0.o4, build7 and s/w version is 1.3.1106.1.I currently have a Kindle that connects wireless to the router E2000. NETWORK card in my computer doesn't have wireless capability and is connected to the router via an Ethernet cable. The two do not work properly. I have a printer HP OJ7410, which can be connected wireless or Ethernet cable. I have the following questions:

  1 did you install via the cd include the installation of wireless security?

  2. If I connect any additional device wireless including printer and the computer with the wireless adapter should I enter a PW for these devices?

  3. the addition of these devices via the Ethernet cable will require additional p/ws?

  1. it depends on. When you have done the installation using the CD, you remember Setting uo WEP or WPA? If you have connected your kindle to the wireless signal, it asks a password (WEP or WPA)?

  2. Yes. all wireless devices attempting to connect to the router will be asked for a password. It is the idea of wireless security.

  3 nope. no need to pw only s when connecting via ethernet.

• General issue of 4215

  I'm quite a beginner to the configuration of the 4215 IDS; However, we have just received our House and I would like to go through setting up with some experts before an extended trial.

  My question, I Fe1/1 and Fe1/2 cables connected to two Gigabit ports on our 6509. I have two destination ports (the ports that connect finally return to the Fe ports on the 4215) specified on the source port 6509 and one (our port router PIX connected to the 6509).

  Given the config below info and details from above, should I correct wiring and this approach works?

  Yes it will work.

  Whith your configuration, you will be able to inspect the traffic to and from the Internet.

  In the future I suggest you set up the rest of the interfaces to detect internal traffic. You can COVER a couple of port of the switch (for example, different VLANs) and use of IDS in promiscuous mode.

  So when I want to uninstall a program I go to settings > device > application management and I uninstall it from there

  I also noticed that I could delete the app icons that appear on the screen. This also uninstalls an application?

  Menu > delete the home screen icon or click and hold + del does the same thing.  They are all uninstall the application.

• General issue of file on why my data store has 3 files with a _1 and _2

  OK, I'm a little new to this thing of VMware, but I was the main actor in this migration and have been the building and move all our servers to our ESX 3.5 with a back-end SAN platform.

  I did well until this weird thing, that I think that I understand, but I just don't know how to solve, or how it happened.  And right next to the bat, no I did not the instant code with this server... those that have been cleaned in the time there... Now

  My situation:

  I have virtual machines that are created equal, that they all have a 'C' drive for the operating system on another dedicated "LUNS for OS Storage" and then they have their readers of 'd' of the newspapers "SQL" on a dedicated LUN in mirror, and then the 'E' drive is on dedicated aonther "LUN DATA.

  If all servers have 2 or 3 LUNS associated with them. That's how the SAN engineer and I designed it. OK works great.  Until one day, I noticed that I was shy about 40 GB space on my SQL LUN. Took time but I think I found the culprit, but I don't know how to solve this problem, or if it will break my dose. So here I ask you all.

  One of my servers called "Server01" has 2 drives associated with it and supposedly 2 / 2 data warehouses, or even what he had initially when it was built in August!

  Now, the operating system data store is fine.

  When I'm on Console V and I click with the button straight on my server and go to his 'change settings' is what I see:

  SERVER01of properties on the "change settings of ' Advanced ' your drive hard 1" to the appropriate LUN and all the VMDK and those files are there. ""  (IE OS LUN 10)

  But "hard drive 2" pointing to the right LUNS (IE SQL LUN11), but his record is called "server01_2"?  What?    She was built and given a hard drive on this LUN, but the name of the folder is wrong.   So I'll browse my store data and low and this is, I have 3 files with the same server name (IE... ( Server01, Server01_1, Server01_2 ) OK so what happened? Why? How? and how in the heck can I get my space back 40gig?

  I checked records the name of the original server, as well as the other files on the data store with the numbers in the annex of _1 and 2 and they have all VMDK files in it... of course dates on all the VMDK files are different and I guess that since the server points to the folder called + "SERVER012" + and its VMDK file has the most recent data buffer on this subject since the last Vmotion We did it, he must then use this folder.

  OK great... but now that messes up my folder structure, and if this server does not use other VMDK files and folders he ate up to 40 GB of my precious space!

  I'm pretty sure when I went on vacation last year, because it is the time of the timestamp on the VMDK files in older records and "dates of the task of the procedures as" trying to clone, suspend, model, reconfgure, snapshot "etc. that the other members of the team tried to do something, which lead to my having 3 files on my store of data with 3 VMDK files in them.?  Nobody seems to know or remind us what it is they are trying to do... great...   I just want to know + If the server points to a folder called "Server01_2" and it has the most recent date stamp on this subject, can I then rename other files? + and then I can delete them?   And if I successful, how can I get my server to have the name of the correct folder again?    Instead of a * _2* on the end of it?

  Any suggestion would be great!    I learned the hard way that if your VM operating system is built and pointing to a file with a specific name, and you try to rename it to match the server, your operating system does not start!. LOL I hope that is not the case with a folder that has a 20gig assigned to HDD with oner VMDK file in it...

  No problem.  Cold migration allows you to move all your files in a data store.  You can use svmotion to move disks to different LUN, but the syntax is somewhat more complex.  The help option shows exactly how to move a machine virtual disk at a time.  Basically, you can move a disk with the config file, so basically, you move the config file and the disk of your choice in the data store that you need.  Move back the config for the original data store file, then repeat the process with the next disc.

  Your best bet would be to have to install ESXi on the other server and images of current virtual machines to run on your existing server that are taken periodically. I guess that the tone of the email, that you do not have an overabundance of funds to work with, before storage, shared clustered and snapshot based backups would be off.

  If you rely on the possibility of recovering virtual machines among readers on the existing system, you may be in for a surprise.

  Answer brief No..

  Long answer, you can do one or two things that may not work. You can sometimes ghost physical systems and then you may be able to restore the system as a virtual machine image ghost. You might be able to restore a backup image to a virtual machine, and then fix it to a working state.

  There are a number of options available and I'm sure that some other people will be piling on short time

  I am writing an iPad App on any Flex experience. I have some knowledge of previous Actionscript, although my experience is in web development or Win Forms Applications. I think that, above all, I just need to get my head in the right place, so I have a few questions.

  1. different layouts for the States of Portrait/Landscape

  I really do not seem to understand the "States", so I don't know if they have what I want to use or not, but I've been struggling with this for a while.

  I want a label on the page that says "your device is in Portrait Mode" etc. However, when you rotate the device, it will change to 'your device is in Landscape Mode.

  The purpose of this is so I have completely different layouts (changing all values of text alignment etc.) for each mode.

  2. different "Pages" / views ".

  Another thing that seems just a foreign concept to me, but it is also common in Windows phone development.

  I have a collection of buttons/links/w and when I click on one I want that he take me to another page with text.

• Export and general issues of file

  Hey guys,.

  We do a lot of catalogs from 8pp to 24pp and seem to have a lot of questions on export-exporting and just using the files.

  My system is as follows

  Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200
  4 GB of ddr3 RAM (only 3.5 get used)

  Windows XP pro SP3

  and Adobe CS3 Master Collection

  
  the catalogues are very heavy images and I was wondering if the following situations can cause problems:

  File Jerkness overall while navagating through documents.

  -Is a common problem?

  -several images with an effective resolution of more than 1200 will cause jerks

  -All placed images should be as close to 300 PPI as possible?

  -Make Illustrator files with mixtures of blur and transparency (I recently had a problem with that)

  PDF export

  -Computers just crash

  -Sometimes have errors of jpeg.

  -Errors of memory

  All files get packaged prior to export and all the CMYK image color profiled.

  We use master pages and character styles or paragraph and errors occur on multiple computers.

  
  So basically I was wondering especially if it's how we create and place documents or is it a problem of computer hardware/software.

  Probably a bad image on this page.

  Try to divide and conquer searching for it:

  Remove half of the page objects. If it exports, it is in half you deleted, otherwise it is always on the page.

  Return the objects to delete. If the bad object is in this group, remove half of this group, otherwise, remove half of the other group.

  Repeat until the object is isolated, should only take a few tries, then rebuild this image and replace.

  Moreover, my first suspects would be EPS. It is also possible that several objects is a problem, but it's less likely.
