  I really struggle with this one. I have a SG 500-28 L3 switch with a link to trunk work to two other L2 switches. I am trying to allow guests in VIRTUAL LANs for access to the outside world... the L3 switch is connected to a router Draytek. I have assigned an IP address to one of the ports and set routing in both directions of L3 to the router. I can ping from the L3 switch to the router and the router to the L3 switch, but no host in any VLAN only can ping more far than the interface IP 192.168.254.253. Can anyone help with this? Is there something specific in this switch I'm missing? IP routing is enabled on the L3 switch.

  I am also getting this error periodically on the L3 switch. Not sure if it is related to the problem.

  Hi Chris, the problem seems to be the router. It does not support interface trunk/sup dot1q or it back pointing you are missing the static routes, to the SVI to the switch.

• General issues (iFilter, .syf and EM simulation environment)

  I have a few general questions, ranging from corresponding EM simulation symbol creation and design of network environment. I would be really grateful if someone could take some time to respond to these in as much detail as possible.

  (1) I use iMatch Wizard in iFilter to design the matching network of entry for the LNA and PA. But I noticed that I get the best correspondent for the LNA (verified by Zin measurement at the source of the device with the included matching network) when I do the correspondence for the combined impedance. However, in the case of the PA, this happens only if I design the network with the correct impedance and not its complex conjugate. Anyone know why this is the case? Or by popular practice, in which case the combined complex should be used for the corresponding network design?

  (2) how can I create my own .syf file to be used as a symbol for a system I design? If I have the .syf how do I appear in my list of existing library of symbols?

  (3) in the EM simulation environment, how to decide the spacing of the grid? Yet once, EMsight I cannot add ports in the structure of Employment, if the structure is not aligned with the grid. How to manage the grid alignment so that the ports are attached without worries? Also, in the EM structure is an available at the entrance x and is coordinated to a partciular shape/structure so that it will sit in the coordinates and will allow me to build the forms around him?

  2. up to the v11, it's probably easier to just import the .syf in each project where you want to use: project > Circuit symbols > import symbol.  In v11, just help > show files/directories... > AppDataUser, create a folder named symbols and empty the file .syf in there.

  3 EMSight is ideal for the subset of the problems to which it applies, but otherwise it's pretty restrictive.  The ports must be on the limit, either on the walls or up/down drivers.  The latter requires a via, which does not incorporate to turn off automatically. etc.

  X and are grid sizes are defined in the enclosure.  When you draw, you can press the tab key to enter the coordinates manually.  However, I recommend that you check the mesh on the structure of your EM before you simulate to make sure that you are not shorting adjacent shapes, or decompose adjacent metal.  Download AXIEM, it blows EMSight out of the water.

• Issues related to the parental control EA6900

  I have my setup of parental control to block access from 22:00 to 09:00 however, it does not automatically access when the time changes to time 'unlocked '. Curiously, it still shows the message 'parental control block. I have to disable the parental control to allow access to devices after 9:00 and then it must reactivate at 22:00 to block access again.

  I've also updated the latest firmware (1.1.42.161129). It does not seem to be 2 versions (V1.0 or V1.1), however, these two seem to be the same file. I used the correct version for my router (V1.0).

  I want to stay with what you have for now and look to see if it works on some devices. Check that the clock on the router is configured correctly. See also if certain sites are blocked and others not. I think there's a bug where some sites using https:// is not to be blocked but http:// did. It worked correctly before the upgrade? Remember you of what was the old version? The cancellation is made by the interface of the router and there is a button to restore but still, if restore you an unwanted version which isn't good either. Better do small things first.

• EA3500 issues related to Internet wireless

  We had trouble with our EA3500.  I spoke with tech support but could not afford it, so they sent me here.

  Our EA3500 works well, sometimes, not others.  It seems that there is a problem with the wireless internet signal.  For example, I can be reviewed online very well when I am connected to a LAN, but all of a sudden, internet wireless will cease to function without apparent reason, even if connected wireless devices must complete signals.  When this happens, all connected in LAN devices still work while those connected wireless are not.

  Until I finished the call with the Linksys tech support, they mentioned that I might need to update my firmware.  This could be the case.  I'm on a macbook pro 2007 at this time, and update Linksys program comes to about 88% complete and then informs me that the update failed.  Don't know what that means.

  Where should I go from here?  Any help would be appreciated.  I must also mention that we have a RE1000 about 50 feet away from the router, and I'm not sure if that plays in this.

• Issues relating to Internet WRT110

  It happens every morning when I wake up.  I unplug my router & modem every night and in the morning that I plug them back in.  My computer (or something else, that I have connected to it) has some problems with connection to the internet, almost as if there is no absolute communications of the modem to the router.  The only thing that works for me to get up is to change the MTU settings on the router configuration page.  The problem with that is that I have wireless turned off so that the internet at work.  Once I changed the MTU settings internet works perfectly fine, but I can't go back into the router configuration page, until I have restart the router.

  This has happened recently and I don't know why he started to do so.

  Any suggestions on why he could do this and how can I solve the problem?

  Trying to play PC games recently, I had a few problems. Yesterday, I solved a problem of RAM where it says 16 GB installed but 3.46 GB usable by using msconfig. That has been corrected (apparently) However most of my games just get past title screens and even when they do they are slow as * / crash most of the time: nothing has changed.

  I have a GTX 770 so it is a recent issue, because he was working fine until last week. Driver is up-to-date as with all updated regularly through steam/uplay games. One glaring problem I see maybe I have 9 GB on Windows (c) to the left, but I really would not have thought that to be a problem.
