700 - 527c envy: do not know if I have a hardware problem or not

I got just a desire to HP 700-527c.  It has a door at the front just above the red light that does not open.  It looks like a CD/DVD slot.   Is this a problem or is it just a slot empty which opens only if there is something in there? Thanks to all who can help with this dummy on... Laughing out loud!

The basic configuration of this model includes a single DVD 5,25 "drive. There is a 5.25 "Bay 2nd slot. That's why you have the panel door.

    I did the same thing on my computer, after loading turtle; I didn't get the message.

    As you mentioned that your HP desktop computer is not able to start after a reboot.

    I would first disconnect the backup / external drive and check if you are able to start or not.

    I suggest to go to the BIOS and boot sequence and select the internal hard drive as first boot device.

    NOTE: BIOS change / complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Setting changes are made at your own risk.

    If the problem persists. I suggest that get you in touch with HP support in order to solve this problem.

    The command line does not work.  I am the administrator and it is automatically elevated command prompt.  I type CHKNTFS /X c:

    I get an error message: "is not recognized as an internal or external command executable program or Batch file" won't play with my registry.  Any help please.

    Thank you and all who responded.  It seems that the chk dsk is enacted by System Mechanic (which I think is an excellent program).   I learned, however, to run a command as administrator prompt.  I always started it with the command run and not as a typed command.

  • 700 - 147C envy: high connections USB3 & Audio do not have

    First the USB3 TOP connector failed & would be the only function as USB2 Audio failed.  Since they are both of the same Assembly (relief, small stage, located on the upper part, in advance, of the PC). The switch is on top of this platform, while the connectors are in the back. I find it more than a coincidence that they have failed.   I can find dozens of DESIRE pc 700-147 views & motherboard, front, rear, imside, outside views but none of the upper connector. My feeling is that it's a hardware problem & would appreciate some tips on repairing it.

    BTW: I got an audio cable connected to the front & it was very convenient, because I only need a short cable. It is very difficult to access the rear because the PC is mounted under the desk.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you have problems with the connections in your case to the top front.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

    By raising the parts available for the model of your system using the HP parts store, or the HP PartSurfer, I found the part you describe is almost certainly:

    If you are comfortable with it, you can try to replace it yourself by getting a replacement of one of the dealers listed as options on the site of the parts store and install yourself, or you could instead call telephone support and repair.  If you prefer the second choice, then please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp, fill in the form, create a folder for your question, and then use the information to contact HP.

  • ENVY 700-527c: data port availability

    ENVY 700-527c, regarding with card mother Kaili2.

    This unit had a place available for an additional cd/dvd drive for a total of 2 cd/dvd players.

    In addition, there are two bays available for the additional hard drives for a total of 3hdds.

    I installed a dvd drive in the extra Bay and I installed a hard drive in one of the two available bays. Everything works well no problems.

    I would like to take advantage of the third Bay for an additional hard drive, but there were only two available data ports.

    You can see the data ports in the lower right. Currently, all four are busy (2 dvd/cd drives - hard drive 2).

    My question is: How can I get a third HDD installed and operational?

    If you remove the laptop battery, reconnect the cable to the notebook AC power, then turn on, it powers the laptop?

  • Installation of 4500 HP Envy does not accept the IP on printer

    I was installing my new HP Envy 4500, and everything was a lot. The printer connected to my router Westell 7500 wireless and I can see it on the network with the IP 10.0.0.17. When the installation on my computer, I get to the point where he asks the IP address on the screen.  I can't clear the checkpoint.  He dislikes this IP address. (It seems like a simple IP address, is it not?) HP Envy is compatible with my Westell wireless router? This is 802.11 g, not n, but that doesn't seem like it should be a problem.

    Then it took me five days, but I finally my printer works perfectly, and I love it.

    After running many diagnostics on my computer, I came to the conclusion that I had a problem of windows 7.  I restored to factory settings (because windows even backup was stunning on me). After that installation is progressing beautifully and I got the printer set up in a few minutes.

    Was it a virus? Windows flip out because I had already run a Lexmark printer? What happened a month that made me lose communication with my old printer. I'll never know.

    But, I have solved my problem, so I'm happy.

    I am trying to install 11.7.700.169 on Windows 7 64 bit. I tried using Chrome, IE and Firefox. Every time I have download and open the exe file, but when I click on 'run' nothing happens.     I had my printer for a few months and have had no problems with it at all. I printed the 25 pages of back and front panels, less than a week ago. Now it won't do anything. I tried to scan, it says 'connection' and will never happened. I tried to print from my Chromebook, it won't. I tried printing from my iPhone, it won't do it either. I tried to send a printjob to enamel of the printer, in 10 minutes, I get a "failed" email It does not scan to e-mail or computer, but it is copy/printing. I tried to unplug. I tried to disconnect the wifi. Going back through all the set up again. I am at a loss.

    Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

    I understand that you have some problems with printing your urge to 5530. I can help with that.

    To start make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet , not a surge protector. Once it's done:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is turned off, unplug your router for a minute.
    3. Once your router works again re - turn on the printer.
    4. On the printer, click wireless icon in the top middle of the screen to display.

    Now the following troubleshooting steps depend on what you see on the screen.

    • If you see a line indicating "status: not connected", then the printer connects is more to your wireless network. To fix this click on settings and then scroll up to the wireless configuration wizard. After you run the wizard to your printer will still once connected to your wireless network.
    • If you see a line that says "status: connected" and the IP address starts with "169.254" while the printer does not receive an IP address from your router. You will need to contact your Internet provider or one that provided you your router to solve the problems of the router.
    • If you see a line that says "status: connected" and the IP address starts with "172" while the printer is probably connected to a network of comments. You will need to contact your internet provider or the one who gave you your router to disable the network of comments.
    • If you see a line that says "status: connected" and the IP address contains all other numbers, then the printer is properly connected to the network.

    If you have a situation like the fourth point above and then to see what the printer goes to press home to return to the main screen. From there, tap the icon of web services in the upper left corner of the screen. If you have a line that says connected the printer is properly connect to web services. Try sending an e-mail to the address of the ePrint on screen printer. If this prints then there is something wrong with Google Cloud Print.

    For iPhone, you want to make sure that the iPhone is connected to the same network as the printer. If it is and you are unable to print, then you will want to contact your internet provider and make sure that the multicast is enabled on the printer.

    You must have installed a Windows 7 64-bit driver (if it exists)
    for this. Do you have? Otherwise, navigate to the web site of the camera
    manufacturer, search, download and install it.
