802.11 wireless pen drive recognized as 'unknown device' under USB. Help, please.

Specs: Windows XP Home Edition version 2002, Service Pack 2. This is the version of XP OEM. Processor Intel pentium 4 2.00 GHz. 1.50 GB of ram.

After an unknown incident (i suspect headphones usb), my wireless USB key has ceased to be recognized as such and become everything simply an "unknown device" under "USB bus controllers. Although windows tells me there is no drivers for the device installed, the wireless pen drive is signed with the Publisher of Microsoft Windows with a version of driver 5.1.2600.0, Microsoft being the driver provider.

Compound number, the 802.11 device is listed under "Other devices" when 'show hidden devices' is selected and the variable "devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices" entered "environment variables", but is washed out-showing that the system thinks that the device is not currently connected to the computer. In addition, under details, it displays error code 45: the device is not connected to the computer. And it is. It's very hip. as cement and connected tape.

I plugged the wireless key USB in all the usb ports on the computer, every time with her recognized as 'unknown device' under usb controllers. I entered in the safe mode, uninstalled all the usb controllers and root usb hub drivers and let windows the respawn after reboot in order to solve the problem. No dice.

I also plugged the USB in a different desktop and it works like a charm, so the issue is not with the hardware.

Clearly there that a conflict with drivers/registry/God knows what, but I'm at a loss. Somehow, windows has taken its decision and the player associated with "unknown device" and I see no way to make the system "forget" that the USB was never connected. How can I remove the ghost driver "unknown device" manually or force windows to re-associate the key wireless USB with "other devices" (with the yellow? mark) and not this useless usb driver "unknown device"?

Thanks for the help!

try to run the following tools in series:

  1. http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/hardware_device_problems
  2. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/817900 (Microsoft Fix it 50052)

I suggest you uninstall the drivers for Bluetooth, fingerprint usb controllers and the sensor. Then reboot the computer this should install it the appropriate drivers for it.

Here's how you can do:

1. click on the Start button > run > type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
2. locate each USB device, the after another and then right-click on it.
3. Select the option to uninstall.
4 restart your computer.

Alternatively, you can try to install the driver chipset for your computer.

Hope this information is useful.

OK, so I'll try again from Firefox this time.

For the first time poster, so please, be gentle. I recently ordered and received a x120e. The first time startup in Windows, the ThinkVantage Toolbox had a yellow exclamation point. To study more, I determined that it was due to an "unknown device" listed in the Windows Device Manager under USB controllers.

I installed all the Windows updates available, and unknown device problem. When you open the device in Device Manager, the Statute indicates that "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ». The associated driver is usbfilter.sys, and if I try to update, it tells me that my current driver file is already up-to-date.

  • Unknown device under USB on my laptop Satellite L500-1XZ

    Hello

I'm new on this forum, but not new to the use of Toshiba products.
Anyway, a few weeks ago I started having problems with
My USB ports in the sense that they all started to die one by one: first
the upper right corner, then the bottom to be followed soon after by the Sata/USB combo
port on the left (kept my adapter mouse there).

I have not used anything other than the regular on my USB ports, you know memory
sticks, HARD drive external (I used a Toshiba StoreArt 1 TB), my mouse and just about it.
Naturally I started looking for a solution to my problem and tried everything, except
for an update of the BIOS.

I don't know what else to do, so I hope that smbd after dealing with the same problem
can help me to restore my USB ports feature.

    I'll post some screenshots:

Hello and welcome to Toshiba support forum.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to tell what the problem is here and give you an accurate diagnosis. In my opinion BIOS update is, for now, is not necessary.
I put t know if you have installed some software additions for use with an external device but you can try now is to reinstall the chipset driver.

I checked the Toshiba download page and your laptop is supported for Win7 32 and 64 bit so you can find it there. I wanted to post the link here, but I put t know what version are you using.

Please, do it in a first time and post comments.

  • HP 250 G3: BSOD - netr28x.sys (MediaTek 802.11 Wireless Adapter Driver, MediaTek Inc.)

I recently bought the HP 250 G3 without OS laptop.

I installed Win 7 pro 64 bit and all the missing drivers, which now seem to be up to date.
I made my machine run all night to check synchronize files on dropbox and google reader, but this morning, I realized crashes BSOD occurred 9 times.

So I download WhoCrashed which identified the main cause of the system down to be:

netr28x.sys (MediaTek 802.11 Wireless Adapter Driver, MediaTek Inc.)

WhoCrashed strongly recommend checking the updates for this driver.
Can anyone suggest me how to upgrade?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Find a driver for an 'unknown device '.

    Hello!

    tions

Recently, I bought the laptop Alienware M17x R4. When I received it I did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional. I installed all the drivers in the DVD Media Resource, updated said drivers with those that I found on the dell site to support technical and also put the graphics driver on the AMD website. Then I ran Windows update and done all the necessary stuff there. Played a few games and I tried using various programs to test my new configuration. everything seemed to work fine and dandy.

Then I downloaded AlienAutopsy just to make sure it has never been fine and dandy and see if I've forgotten something. Performed A test material and everything was fine, but then I noticed the assessment than my necessary system 'attention' and finds that it has detected 1 device without a device driver. I looked at the hardware ID of the unknown device and it came with:

"ACPI\CPL0002" and was classified in the category of "other devices".

I did a quick search on google for this hardware ID and don't find any relevant results. He had a few COMPUTER forums that had "suggestions" for what it could be, but none that could say with certainty. Among these suggestions included "Chipset Drivers" (I reinstalled all the drivers for the chipset on the dell support site just in case, but the camera is appeared as 'unknown'), "Pilot of Smartbattery" (I installed on the Intel site as it was not for my computer on dell support, but still peripheral presented themselves as unknown) and finally some people thought it was free fall sensors , but even once, I reinstalled this from the dell support site and still no luck.

Could someone has an idea what this could be?

    Contagious cure

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be that. The unit remains unknown :(

Just to confirm, and it is the driver for ACPI\CPL0002. It is on display on the screen. Can try you again please?

  • My drive Local (c) cannot be defrag. Help, please!

My drive Local (c) cannot be defrag, because there is that 1% unused space. The defragmentation tool requires at least 15% to be effective. I have removed all unnecessary programs in Control Panel and use the disk clean up several times, but there are so defragmented files it will not improve the disk space. Help, please!

You have two choices.   Buy a bigger HD and transfer data through or delete things until you get to 15%.  It's a large amount od deletion so I would opt for the drive.
