Wireless mouse Logitech M305 is "unknown device".

I bought a while back wireless mouse Logitech M305.

It worked perfectly today, it stopped working.

Windows says that it is an unknown device. Only it doesn't work properly and it may not recognise.

I don't know what to do, I tried with the FixIt tool, but it didn't work.

I tried also to try to update, but nothing.

Can someone help me?

  • 802.11 wireless pen drive recognized as 'unknown device' under USB. Help, please.

Specs: Windows XP Home Edition version 2002, Service Pack 2. This is the version of XP OEM. Processor Intel pentium 4 2.00 GHz. 1.50 GB of ram.

After an unknown incident (i suspect headphones usb), my wireless USB key has ceased to be recognized as such and become everything simply an "unknown device" under "USB bus controllers. Although windows tells me there is no drivers for the device installed, the wireless pen drive is signed with the Publisher of Microsoft Windows with a version of driver 5.1.2600.0, Microsoft being the driver provider.

Compound number, the 802.11 device is listed under "Other devices" when 'show hidden devices' is selected and the variable "devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices" entered "environment variables", but is washed out-showing that the system thinks that the device is not currently connected to the computer. In addition, under details, it displays error code 45: the device is not connected to the computer. And it is. It's very hip. as cement and connected tape.

I plugged the wireless key USB in all the usb ports on the computer, every time with her recognized as 'unknown device' under usb controllers. I entered in the safe mode, uninstalled all the usb controllers and root usb hub drivers and let windows the respawn after reboot in order to solve the problem. No dice.

I also plugged the USB in a different desktop and it works like a charm, so the issue is not with the hardware.

Clearly there that a conflict with drivers/registry/God knows what, but I'm at a loss. Somehow, windows has taken its decision and the player associated with "unknown device" and I see no way to make the system "forget" that the USB was never connected. How can I remove the ghost driver "unknown device" manually or force windows to re-associate the key wireless USB with "other devices" (with the yellow? mark) and not this useless usb driver "unknown device"?

    Thanks for the help!

  • Mouse, now known as "unknown device".

Hi, I just played a fairly new game with my mouse, (mouse Razer Naga Hex)-all of a sudden the mouse had stopped working. This has happened several times before, however, after plugging it again. It was not recognized at all. I restarted my computer (Alienware x 51) and re-installed all the readers who are for my mouse, but the problem remains. It is not always recognized it. I plug it to my computer and it makes the noise that the new hardware has been connected, but that's all. The mouse is in perfect condition, I literartly have no idea what caused it. I knew this was a problem for many people (looking for answers on the internet). have not met a "real" solution yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading!

  • Zoom scroll Logitech wireless mouse

I had my M750 for awhile, and until a few weeks before, hold down the command button on the keyboard of my Mac while I scrolled did nothing. Except navigate pages on Firefox. Now for some reason, since updated to update to Firefox 20, or even to the slightest touch of the control button, when I scroll with the scroll wheel to scroll to the top and to the bottom of the page on Firefox 20, it zooms in and out. Very annoying. Anyone know how to disable the zoom on the scroll wheel when you press the command key? Or is it a Firefox issue rather than a problem of software of Logitech? I use the command to automatically open links in a new tab. My finger is at hand. Just easier for me that way. But the slightest touch of the control key enables the scroll wheel zoom feature. And once again, never a problem so far. I actually knew a number of annoying problems since update to Firefox 20, which I had to find workarounds. What is one of the most annoying.

    Found my dose. https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/821743

Set the value to 0 for mousewheel.with_meta.action

Testing, this only disables the command + zoom scroll wheel in Firefox. Scroll still works with the scroll wheel. It IS therefore a matter of Firefox. And when the update to the latest version, sort of to reset my previous configuration settings. I guess I have to put in place some time ago when I first came to the wireless mouse. I hope that Firefox does not change the settings in the future updates. Maybe even do to access patches like that much simpler. As included in the preferences. That is to say. Disable/enable the Zoom with scroll wheel.

    Hello j_waver0000,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

I would like more information on what brand and model of mouse you are using?  I know that you listed Trackball, but I show several manufacturers using the name of trackball, including Microsoft.

Have you informed you have uninstalled the mouse drivers, have you done this in Device Manager?   "Click Start-> type Device Manager" in the search field-> select Device Manager-> select mice and other pointing devices-> with the right button of your device, and then select update.

If the device is already updated and then right-click and select "Uninstall".  You may be prompted to restart, otherwise right click again on your device and select "install".

If you have a Microsoft Mouse, please visit this link for additional information.  Please let us know status.  Thank you!

  • Unknown device on network adapter between the laptop and the wireless router

I am running windows 7 64 bit on a laptop computer connected wireless to the router and internet.  The router is Linksys WRT160N connected to the internet.  The map of the network, there is a question mark device unknown between the laptop and the router.  However, I still have access to the internet.  In terms of network, if I hover over the laptop, it does not show an IP address.  It only shows the name of the computer and its MAC address.  Any help would be appreciated.

Solved my problem.  I checked the button of the IPv6 protocol in the properties of a network connection on the laptop, and now I can see it's the IP address and the unknown device has been replaced by a switch and hub which is part of the router.   I do not uncheck the button IPV4.  I'm guessing that it is a bug in Windows 7 that you need to cut of ipV6 Protocol when you have a Win XP computer on the network if you want to see a map of own network.  As I said before, everything worked before, so this seems to be a cosmetic fix only.  I see that my shared files on the XP computer appear faster after a reboot.

  • Calibration device wireless mouse is disabled

The receiver that I plug into the USB port for my wireless mouse must be taken out and put back in, even waved around to make it work. Once I got to work, he won't select things correctly. I mean, when I select things such as volume, or mute, or to go full screen, I have to have my pointer to the right of what I select. So it's as if my calibration is off on the pointer. She does it with my mouse on the touchpad of my laptop and wireless. It drives me crazy. Help, please.

If the receiver is disconnected, you get the same behavior with just the touchpad? If so, then going to the controller or the driver is damaged. Reinstall the driver for the touchpad would be easier to test.

Another thing you can do (after the pilot has been reinstalled) is to go into Control Panel and disable the touchpad before you plug in the receiver and test the mouse wireless in this way.

If you encounter to shake the receiver to make contact, then the USB port is broken/door to where it does not have the receiver tight (try a different USB port if you have one), or the receiver itself is worn or damaged. Look at the end of the plug of the receiver and see if the external armor is flat and rectangular all around. If this isn't the case, you may be able to straighten using a pair of pliers to nozzles. If the inner part of the socket on the laptop or the receiver is cracked or distorted, then it is defective and must be replaced.
