8500 will not print Yellow

I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless all-in-one printer and I can't seem to print the yellow color. I have cleaned the print heads (manually, as well as through the machine), calibrated their, them aligned and installed nine original cartridges HP... all colors. The printer recognized the original the new HP ink cartirdges and shows them to 100% of its capacity of ink... I have prnted a test page and cannot get yellow to print... all other colours print fine... I did a test print page General windows and still no yellow.

I need print some important documents and the cards and need yellow to work and am frustrated that it does not work... Can anyone help me ID a problem I can fix and advise what's happening here?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey @MtnSquid,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I would like to help you today to identify the problem with the yellow ink not print on your HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless all-in - One Printer. First of all, I would like to thank you for the detail that you included in your post about troubleshooting you have already completed the steps. You have already run through the troubleshooting steps recommended to solve this problem of print quality.

Now at this moment I think that your problem is your black and yellow print head. Because you have already replaced your cartridges, cleaned and aligned to your printing system we know at this time that the yellow cartridge is defective. The black and the print head yellow is what controls the black and yellow cartridges for printing. Because the yolk still does not question must lie with this print head.

According to the HP Support document: solve print quality problemsonce the following steps are performed:

  • Solution: use genuine HP cartridges
  • Solution 2: Check paper
  • Solution 3: Check the print settings
  • Solution 4: print and evaluate a Diagnostics Page of print quality
  • Solution 5: Check the image

The last step is to "replace one or two print heads. In this model of printer, you have a Cyan-Printhead Magenta and black and Yellow Printhead. As I said previously, because this problem only affects your yellow cartridge that your problem lies in the black and yellow print head.

You can buy the black and yellow print head locally or hpshopping.ca: black and HP 940 yellow print head Original. The part number is C4900A and it cost about $64.99 before taxes.

However, be aware that there is always the chance that this print head does not solve your problem of yellow quality because this may be the beginning of your print system failure. If the new printhead fails to solve your problem to a replacement printer would be necessary.

If you want to explore alternative options, I would recommend that you contact our Technical Support telephone queue.

HP Technical Support can be reached at the: 800-474-6836.

Please let me know if this post will help you. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • My Pro 100 will not print Yellow

    Any suggestions?

I noticed that my bad air impressions and I noticed that I had not filled the yellow in some time.  I ran test pages and it was the only color not print.

I thought that the ink was old and I put in a brand new yellow ink and it still does not print.  I tried a deep cleaning and the printer do not think that something is wrong.  Also if I touch the tip of the yellow ink on a paper towel, yellow ink comes out.

  • Jet office pro 8500 does not print Yellow - no error messages and printhead life shows good

I have an Officejet Pro 8500 A909n Prime that doesn't print Yellow. I have replaced the yellow cartridge twice, cleaned the printheads as well regular and deep cleaning, and I cleaned the contacts on the print head. Current information shows the printhead as good quality. The amount of ink is correct. There has never been no error messages whatsoever. What gives?

    {The content removed}

Sorry, but none of your suggestions helped. What I suspected at the outset was the printhead and it seems to be what needs to be replaced. HP and print heads are a big problem and I had this problem on previous models of the officejet family. My Canon has been in service for seven or eight years and I have never had a problem with it. I think that if I replace this printer that I might have to consider anything other than HP. Thanks a lot for your help.

  • New 351 tricolor cartridge will not print Yellow or mix for green

    I am using Windows 7 64 bit

I tried to use the HP Digital Imaging Monitor but it is not installed.

I tried to know where download and install one but cannot uinderstand where to buy.

The problem is that I don't seem to be able to make green.  Also the yellow seems to be missing.

    The cartridge is new.

Can you recommend something and give me a URL where I can download and install the imaging monitor?

    Thank you very much

    Best wishes

    Sky

    Hi Sky,

You can take a look at a video that I'm a link so that you can check your system for the digital imaging monitor and activate it if possible.  Video

If you need to download the software, you can find here.

Before you get too involved in the end of the printing software, I suggest that you make sure that you don't have a hardware problem.  If you make a color photocopy of something that has green inside, the Green comes out?  If this isn't the case, you must be a hardware problem.  I would not spend time on the software until the hardware problem is resolved.  Let me know how it goes.

  • HP 8500 will not print the data of the Internet/Email

HP 8500 A909a - bought the new laptop HP with Windows 7 - 64 bit, installed new drivers from the HP site, but cannot print from internet e-mail. Can print from notepad and Word. The diagnostic utility tool indicates that all is well. I use a USB to connect to the printer. I had no impression of older PC problem.

    Hello CB8500

It is a known problem in Internet Explore 64-bit, there missis plugins required to print from a Web site or Web mail. To resolve this issue, Microsoft has installed a 32-bit version of internet explore as well in any 64-bit operating system. Then start the 32-bit internet Explorer try to print then. Most likely, it would work.

  • HP C4180 will not print Yellow

My C4180 stopped the yellow color printing.  I changed the color print cartridge, clean the print head 3 X and drivers updated.  Is there anything else I should try before I have spend a lot of money on another cartridge?

    Hello

Try this: excerpt from the User Guide: If the problem persists, clean the brass contacts of the ink cartridges.

You are able to download the manual of base from here:

If your ink cartridge is a brand new and just purchased, can try to ask for replacement if still under warranty.

  • Photosmart premium 309g will not print Yellow, cyan or photo black

We have premium photosmart hp 309g.  I replaced the ink cartridges and it still won't print black, cyan or yellow.  I used all the 'tools' on the printer and nothing has helped.  Any ideas?

What happens if you try to make a copy of a picture of the printer - still no printed colors? If print colors by making a copy, then the problem is on the side of the computer. If this isn't the case, it's a matter of hardware/firmware/printer accessories.

If you determine that the problem is the printer, see below.

Since you have replaced the cartridges, you may have a printhead problem; Sales/dirty or defective.

Follow the steps in this document to begin troubleshooting your print head (ignore the title): 'print head problem' or "Print head seems to be missing or corrupt" Message appears on the computer

Please post your results after going through this troubleshooting.

    Thank you!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a Premium yellow will not print

I am not able to print Yellow.  The quality of the print head is 'good' on my two print heads.  I cleaned the Black/Yellow Printhead (which was dirty) and electrical contacts.  There is no break in the inktubes.  Original HP cartridges were full (although with all attempts to realign and clean, they are now all almost empty).  Print quality report shows no white dark lines or gaps in the Test focus3.  The reason for Test 1 shows and connected lines.  Focus 2 shows not yellow, but without streaks white through any of the colored blocks.

So I think I've covered everything except the replacement of the print head.

The question is to know if I can wait that it will change the situation to change the print head or if I have to get the printer serviced - and, as it is out of warranty, if it means that the cost of the service outweighs the balance of the cost of obtaining a new printer.

What do people think?  Is that what sounds like a new printhead will correct the situation?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Cherniack,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

  • Will not print blue/yellow

HP Pro 8500 AIO Wireless Oject - 3 months warranty. Will not print blue or yellow. I realigned, cleaned and calibrated. I unplugged and reset. Still no go. In addition, the print head carriage does not move left back when the top is open. Any ideas?

    Hey Mudlizard,.

I see that you have a problem with printing yellow and Cyan with your Officejet 8500 Wireless.  The printer has 2 printheads inside: Cyan/Magenta and yellow/black.  If you have a problem with these 2 colors, then it is possible that the two print heads have gone wrong.  However, it is also possible that the unit has developed a problem in the electrical circuit of the printing system.

The print heads can be purchased for this printer most retailers who carry the HP ink cartridges.  Do not forget that these retail for $ 50-60 each print heads.  Buy the two print heads would cost close to $100 usd.

  • HP officejet 8500 has more will not print black and white because the color cartridge is low

I have entered the property and set it to 'levels of gray' and 'use black ink only', but the printer still will not print because "the yellow ink cartridge is low.

incredibly frustrating that the cartridges of color completely stop you from printing, even if you are trying to print in color.

    Proffessional OS-windows 7

is there a known solution for this?

Unfortunately, the printer does not print until the replacement of the yellow ink. There is no work around for low ink message.

  • yellow will not print photosmart c4280

My printer will not print or scan colors yellow / green. It's a fairly new cartridge, so I don't know that I him have not used everything up and on the levels of food its fine. I don't get the error messages. And clean the heads of printing and the allinged I level 1 and 2.

I advise to remove the Photosmart C4280 cartridges and clean the electrical contacts.  During this operation, I would go ahead and perform a reset of the ink system.  For more information about how to perform an ink system reset click here.

In addition, there is a document for the resolution of bad color printing problems.  The document can be accessed here.

    • Also, try to run all 3 levels of the print head cleaning utility.  He is trying to force the ink holes in the print head to try to get back to the normal print quality.

Let me know how it goes.

  • Office Jet Pro 8500 black ink cartridge will not print

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless: Can I get some help here? Yellow ink will not print - HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

No matter what I do, ink yellow does not print, or stops at halfway printing on the page. I use genuine HP cartridges. There is a lot of ink - in fact, I just installed a new cartridge in the case where a previous (almost complete) was defective. No change. The pipe is not pinched. I flashed the firmware more recent and installed all drivers and utilities updated. I have cleaned the print heads over and over again and even took and cleaned according to the instructions.

I think it was a sign that the printer is worn EXCEPT - just a few months ago, magenta and black stopped printing. These are the opposite printheads. When I uninstalled every bit of HP software I could find, the printer back to normal!

The only thing I did not - it is the HP Toolbox argues that it is impossible to establish two-way communication with the printer. The patches for this involve get under the desk to play with the power cord and USB cable (even if it is a wireless printer), and my arthritic knees that make a very delicate operation. Two-way communication IS enabled.

I'm about to start crying. I fought with this market a week, when the yellow all of a sudden went - once again, * most * of the time, but sometimes it prints to maybe an inch of the image before disappearing. Help!
