A black screen, then a blue screen

The status bar for my CD drive was off the track so I removed the side panel to look at. He was COVERED in dust. So I took a cloth and sprinkled the entire interior. The fan was BAD and got everything clean. I unplugged the two cords that were clinging to the back of the CD player to try to fix the tray. Well, the plateau is back on track and works very well!  However, now a black screen appears and says CPU fan has failed and stops within 5 seconds, it seems, but the fan works well. And then, sometimes after you turn it on, I get a blue screen that says computer has failed. I break something? I connected the cables to the back of the CD player and there are only 2 points, in that they can go. Any suggustions? Don't know what I did or what I need to do? HELP Please!

The CPU fan is a different fan for the computer case fan.

You did of course something back there.

http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_fan

CPU fan

Used to cool the radiator of CPU (central processing unit). Effective cooling of heat concentrated as an large-scale integrated circuits requires a heat sink, which may be cooled by a fan. use of a single fan will not prevent an overheating of the small chip.

See you soon.

Most of the things see you on a blue screen of death (BSOD) is generic boilerplate stuff you see on just about all BSOD.  What is important is the few lines that you see under the heading technical information - and sometimes it is not enough to understand what is happening.

After trying the suggestions of the engaged Microsoft Support Engineer 'expert', someone who knows how XP works may be able to help understand what is happening if you provide information on your system and your system crash dump files.  I do not see how these things suggested will give you clues about what causes your BSOD, but they are the "experts".

The following looks like a lot to do, but if you do the best you can with it, your question will be resolved more quickly than to try some things:

Unfortunately, MS Answers forums does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, so we don't know anything on your system.

Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Please MS Answers, continue to make solving simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

What is your Internet browser and version?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Your system seems to start OK and then crash or didn't he start not at all?
Can you make the system crash when you want?  For example, you would say that there is no specific system activity that coincides with the accidents (like watching videos, playing games, etc.).

The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we know what your BSOD looks like.
Now provide more information about your system and data against more recent accidents.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:
    Msinfo32
Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.
For information about video drivers, expand components, click display, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.
There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.
This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

It is sometimes easier just to download the memory dump files since your last breaks down on your SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).   So can someone who already has Windows debugging tools to look at things and understand what is happening.

Dump memory of recent crashes and BSOD files are usually in this folder (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive):

    c:\windows\minidump

The files will be named something like this:

    Mini120311 - 01.dmp

You need to download the latest... maybe 5-10 of the most recent crash dump files should be sufficient if you who have a lot.  If you do not have that much, send what you have.

    Getting started with SkyDrive:
    http://explore.live.com/SkyDrive-get-started

Once you get your downloaded files and watch them on your SkyDrive, you need to 'share' your folders/files so that others can see them.

Here is a link that tells you how to:
    http://explore.live.com/Windows-Live-SkyDrive-change-access-permissions-FAQ

Then click on the button "insert a link".  When you click on that, a window opens that contains the link to your SkyDrive files.

Copy the contents of the box "copy this link to share:" in selecting the content of the link (it will be all highlighted), press Ctrl + C (copy) and then come back to the forum and in your next message, press Ctrl + V to paste the contents of the link back here.

What you paste the return will look something like this link on my SkyDrive:

While you wait, please follow these steps:

No matter what you use for malware protection, follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a quick scan with these free malware detection programs (not at the same time):

Start the computer in safe mode (press F8 continuously immediately after power and don't worry beeps when you press the button) and let it boot without a network.  Once there right click on the desktop and then click Properties.  Click settings and the value of the monitor mode (640 X 480) VGA or SVGA (800 X 600).  Accept the changes and restart the computer.  You should have a mediocre screen, but you should see it now.  Download and install the appropriate drivers for your video card in the laptop to the web site of the manufacturer of the laptop.  Install the drivers and then you should be able to set the display of the laptop to the correct native resolution for your computer monitor (must be in the documentation of the laptop).

  • hp blue circle on black screen, can\ ' t access the boot options for the recovery disc

I have installed Symantec disk full encryption and encrypted hard drive. Then I restarted the pc. I get a black screen with a blue HP logo in the Center. The low right sysa message press the ESC key for startup menu, but no key is working. Each button gets a beep. If I turn the power off, then on and press the various f keys, I get different messages but still no answer from all the keys.

Symantec sent a disc of recovery for deencrypt the drive, but I can't get the pc to load from the drive. Any thoughts?. I reset the computer twice (battery and power cord, hold the power button / stop for 30 seconds)

I remove the hard drive and then turn on the laptop to see what answer the BIOS.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as if you may have encrypted the whole disc rather than only the C: volume or the BIOS ROM file is damaged.

You should be able to go beyond the HP screen to access the BIOS.

The BIOS should give complain that it cannot find a drive with a bootable operating system.

If this happens, and you have the recovery disk set or usb recovery media, life is good and you will need to take a look at the Symantek forum to see how to proceed with your encrypted drive.

If it does not then, the problem is the BIOS on the system board.

By pressing the ESC key and have the start menu appear is conditional on the BIOS being in good condition. Yours may be damaged. Try download a softpaq BIOS on another PC, extract the BIOS ROM file and put it on the root of a usb key. Put the USB key into a USB port on the laptop. Press the power button and immediately hold down the Windows key and start receiving the B key. If it works and you see an led flash, release the keys and wait. the process must load a BIOS file to replace the one damaged. This takes time, so be patient if you see a blinking led or no reaction from the laptop for a few minutes.

Post your results here and we can take the next steps, you can take.

  • Acer R7-572-6423 white/black screen. Indicator of battery/blue

    Acer R7-572-6423

    Windows 8.1

    Bought April 28, 2014.

    Question:

Now I get a black screen permanently.  When it is connected to wall battery indicator is blue, I press the power button, light to power lights up blue for 7 seconds then turns off.  Nothing happens.  Screen not being able to, can not hear fans, etc. Same question not connected to the wall.

There was a version of the 2.04 BIOS update that fixed a problem '2.Revise system cannot start when "Exit Discard Changes" has been selected in the BIOS menu."  I think this is my problem.

Is there any recovery method that can be done at home to get out of this State?

Here's one video of another user with the same laptop and same problem, but he has never released a fix. https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=AJeEZO_czxw

Another user suggests to send in the laptop to have the EPROM replaced but never said why or if it is fixed.

    Tried:

Pinhole button to reset the system

    removed battery, hard drive

looked for son crimped in hinge past on the screen

    Thanks for the help.

    Just updated my own post-

Something on the motherboard is indeed stuck in a permanent off-State.  There is no solution in addition to the replacement of the motherboard together. They are more expensive because integrated cpu.

My laptop is out of warranty for a reason any since I bought it via Acer Outlet on Amazon, even though the laptop itself had been built less than a year ago.

Chat online support for problems would not help at all.  They are a 3rd third party vendor and do not do this things.

Sent a request for repair of Acer. They want $399 for repair.

It took a repairman (people super nice btw, way more useful than acer supports... I would suggest strongly local mom & pop stores if you can), they want $360.

Don't know what I'll do yet. I think it's ridiculous to pay for a bug of software known bios that bricks your laptop, but that's just me.

    Marking this as resolved issue.

  • Why the screensaver stop working after a few minutes and then go to the black screen permanently?

I use Vista Home Premium with Explorer 8. My screensaver always works for about 5 minutes and then stops and goes to a black screen. Still black screen and my screen saver active ever again until I have move my cursor to display the page I was on. The screen saver does not available parameters except to set the number of minutes, I want to start. I ran antivirus, anti-spyware-malware etc the gamet, but anything is wrong with the screen saver. I am blocked and never had this problem before. Anyone know what is happening, what is the cause and how to fix this?

If you changed your diet plan or changed some settings for your course, it can happen.

    (1) go in the bottom right of your screen and click on the battery icon and click more power options (assuming that you have a laptop. If you don't go to the control panel (Classic view) and go into power options)

    (2) on your package (indicated by a blue dot next to it), click on change plan settings and navigate screen however turn it off for a long time, you want it to be before he turns off the screen.

I do not recommend messing around with drivers, because when I did, it messed up my screen and ended up back where I was before she has nothing (sorry James). of couse I messed up a little and the only real problem was the catylist control center has disappeared, and when I tried to fix this, I came across problems (it looked like a safe mode without the mode without failure of words on the corners)

  • Windows Vista installation disc: Black screen with a cursor and then nothing happens

A blue screen appears when I try to start Windows and I'm trying to fix the computer through my installation disc I have. But when I try to run my Vista disk installation happening by loading the files fine. It then shows a black screen with a mouse cursor that moves. After that, nothing happens even if I leave it for hours to sit. It is a real disk Installation of Microsoft for Vista.

If a clean installation of a real Installation of Vista disc does not work, then you probably have some kind of hardware problem (and the blue screen, you got before makes this even more likely).  You can try to do some troubleshooting on your own hardware, but frankly you probably put "t have tools or spare parts to do very much.  Here are some instructions that may help:http://elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot.

If this does not work, then I suggest that you take it to a repair shop of computer with a good reputation for the service where they can troubleshoot, diagnose, identify and possibly repair or replace the problem.  Before you import it in, I suggest that you protect your important data, as it is likely that they will wipe the hard drive clean in the process.  You can use Knoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD.  This should hopefully give you enough access to the system (if you do not have any other means) to backup your important data.  Otherwise, slave the drive to another computer and copy the data in this way.

I'm sorry, we can not help more, but from your description there is no option of software if you do not have to do a clean install of an Installation of Vista genuine disc.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Black screen with a blue glow on screen 55 "

I'm having a problem with the 55 '' LCD Cisco monitors where they randomly have a black screen with a blue glow at the bottom (hanging vertically).  Their power off, then bring him back the photo.  The DMP continues to play their content, and they are not connected by RS232, so I don't know that it is not orders this way.  We have two side by side, and it is never both at the same time.  It is one or the other, and they seem to alternate.  Last week from the other two, who are in another building and in separate rooms in one room on the other hand, started having this problem also, but they have been in service for a few months more.  Last week, it was one, which is just in front of the person to me, and this morning it was the other.  The oldest of them is just less than a year in the service.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Michael,

I know a couple of back issues of customer with 55 '' screens goes black after a while. Best option is that you open a service request in the TAC of revision of the exact firmware running on LCD screens and see if they match a known problem that can be corrected - since I do not believe that there is a patch available in general release.

    Best regards
