Acer R7-572-6423 white/black screen. Indicator of battery/blue

Acer R7-572-6423

Windows 8.1

Bought April 28, 2014.

Question:

Now I get a black screen permanently.  When it is connected to wall battery indicator is blue, I press the power button, light to power lights up blue for 7 seconds then turns off.  Nothing happens.  Screen not being able to, can not hear fans, etc. Same question not connected to the wall.

There was a version of the 2.04 BIOS update that fixed a problem '2.Revise system cannot start when "Exit Discard Changes" has been selected in the BIOS menu."  I think this is my problem.

Is there any recovery method that can be done at home to get out of this State?

Here's one video of another user with the same laptop and same problem, but he has never released a fix. https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=AJeEZO_czxw

Another user suggests to send in the laptop to have the EPROM replaced but never said why or if it is fixed.

Tried:

Pinhole button to reset the system

removed battery, hard drive

looked for son crimped in hinge past on the screen

Thanks for the help.

Just updated my own post-

Something on the motherboard is indeed stuck in a permanent off-State.  There is no solution in addition to the replacement of the motherboard together. They are more expensive because integrated cpu.

My laptop is out of warranty for a reason any since I bought it via Acer Outlet on Amazon, even though the laptop itself had been built less than a year ago.

Chat online support for problems would not help at all.  They are a 3rd third party vendor and do not do this things.

Sent a request for repair of Acer. They want $399 for repair.

It took a repairman (people super nice btw, way more useful than acer supports... I would suggest strongly local mom & pop stores if you can), they want $360.

Don't know what I'll do yet. I think it's ridiculous to pay for a bug of software known bios that bricks your laptop, but that's just me.

Marking this as resolved issue.

So I have upgraded RAM using 2 x 4 GB SODIMM DDR3 Corsair 1600 Mhz, after installing the PC boots but screen is white/black

    steps to follow:

    1. I tried with 1 socket by using only a RAM, screen black

    2. I tried with 2 socket using RAM only one with the same RAM step 1, screen black

    3. I tried step 1 and 2 using the other RAM, screen black

    now here it gets interesting

4 tried 1 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

5 tried 2 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

    6. tried without any RAM at all, looks like a lack of RAM, screen black

Now, to each measure adopted, I must say that the screen sound not only not showing things, but its totally black as it does at all, until the system starts normally. !

Is it Possible the upgrade of RAM affect the screen? or maybe when I was replacing the RAM I hit some conecting by cable to screen or something?

  • Start-up and installation of Windows 8 USB result in a black screen, followed by a blue screen.

    Hello.

I help my friend who has a problem with his computer running Windows 8. It started with his computer, gel and should it reboot.
After the restart, he is greeted by a black screen for about 30 minutes, followed of a BSOD flashin (the smiley one). No error code.

I made a bootable USB key with Windows 8 on it, downloaded from the Microsoft Web site. After the start of it, I am presented by Windows 8 logo, a circle of rotation, but then it goes black and after 5 to 30 minutes I am getting the same BSOD.

I tried to disable all I can in the BIOS. The BIOS detects all hardware in the computer.

The computer is a portable computer. ASUS X401a.

I hope someone out there has an answer for me!

    Thank you.
    / Carl.

    Carl

The first thing I would do is to try to boot from the victory 8 dvd.  (if you don't have it get a).  If your problem of computers is what associated USB then start on a USB key will cause a BSOD.

If this does not help in pulling the HD to put in an envelope and try another computer can help if this does not work on the other computer it can point to the HD as the question.

I would also try vi USB boot using win PE (Google for download site)

IF all of the above do not help it is time to bring it to a professional or to the room if it is under warranty

  • White/black screen after you run check disk error in Windows Vista.

I ran a check of the disk error on my lenovo W700ds (Windows Vista) yesterday evening. When I logged into the machine the screen became black and white. I was able to start the Task Manager, and he showed no application running and less than a dozen processes running in the background (which is unusual). I was able to login using safe mode but may not know how to get rid of white screen black and restore anything that could have been smeared in the disc.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Method 1
I suggest you boot the computer last known good configuration and check if the problem persists.

    Hi Abhishek,

This problem may occur because of problems with the display card driver.

What is the model of the Dell laptop?

Please disconnect all external devices other than the keyboard and mouse.

Since you are not able to go to the login screen or able to boot to the desktop, the only option we can try is to run the system restore by using the installation of Windows 8 media. To create an installation of Windows 8 (USB) media. Check out the following link.

How to create the installation media for a PC refresh or reset:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

When you create the installation media, do the system restore. System Restore to restore your computer to a previous state, quickly and easily without losing any of your files and personal settings. Sometimes when you install programs or drivers, they can affect some system settings and prevent other programs to function properly. You can use system restore to restore these settings to their previous state. Refer to the steps:

    1. Insert the Windows 8 (DVD/USB) installation media, and then restart the computer.
    2. Hit F12 key (usually it's F12, but it may differ between computer manufacturers) and choose the drive in which you inserted into the installation media.
    3. Once the Windows Setup window appears, follow these steps:
    4. Then drag and select repair your computer.
    5. You will then see a blue screen and an option to choose.
    6. Choose the Troubleshooting option and select Advanced options.
    7. Select restore and follow the prompt on the screen.

    For your reference: System Restore

Please follow the section restore your PC to an earlier point in time

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-PC

Warning the system restore: Application /programmes. that were installed after the last restore point will be lost. You may have to reinstall programs and applications.

Please answer us on the State of the question to help you further.

  • Satellite M100 suddenly white/black screen

    Dear all,

    Good evening

Can advise what to do on my laptop. Suddenly the screen black but may be able to on, but no display or HDD led light, only power led and the Start button / stop have light.

    Thank you

    Hi Hunter

You can try to remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter.
Wait a bit (30 min), then reconnect the two devices.
    Again for this machine

If this will not help you can try to connect it to external monitor to check if some pictures would appear on the second screen
If it would not help you then I guess a serious problem of material made sure and a technician of the ASP must check hardware

  • Y50 - white black screen after startup

I have a Lenovo Y 50, who simply refuses to boot completely. Just after loading and the Lenovo logo circle the screen just pull a vacuum.

    Link to photo/image

The LEDs also work, during the process LED flashes now and again.

    Link to photo/image

I tried a discharge of the battery, but that no longer works.

Now, I try to start in safe mode by using a bootable flash drive (as the SHIFT + F8 does not work on the Y50).

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

PS - I heard a noise from inside when you move the laptop. Open to find a screw loose jiggling on the inside. I removed, but I doubt that's the issue. Also, I for the life of me cannot understand where the screw goes.

So I had to refresh Windows to operate.
I still have some idea what went wrong. Windows startup repair does not and not more than the restoration of the system.

Most of my data is intact, however I lost some of my college work.

Hope this has been a thing of the time.

  • My laptop won't boot. All I get is a white, black screen with the cursor flashes in the corner.

I tried boot cd of the Hiren s and changed the boot order to cd drive.  That did not work.

My laptop is a compaq, about 8 years old and winxp.

Press ctrl-alt-delete. If it works, go to file / new task, type explorer.exe. This brings to the top of the desktop computer? I wouldn't use Hirens CD. Go into the BIOS and change to the hard drive. If windows is installed

  • C50-A-1DN satellite: black screen until the battery has been removed

The battery of my laptop Satellite C50-A-1DN was defective despite attentive treatment after more than a year.

Now the screen remained black at the beginning of the unit.
After that I removed the battery, I could see the computer then power up as usual.

    How is that?

Well, this question seems a bit strange because even if the battery couldn't keep cooler, the laptop should be able to power being plugged into the mains.

I'm not quite sure that the problem is related to the battery...

However, the battery is a removable part and very cheap... so in all first the battery should be replaced and laptop computer features must be tested using the new good farm work.

If the problem of the laptop will not be resolved even by using the new battery, well in this case there must be a serious problem with the motherboard... maybe power electronic problems...

  • Satellite M70 - black screen on startup

    Hello!

I have a problem with my Satellite M70-309, so for two times after logo Toshiba, Windows Xp (home sp2) does not start.
The result is a WHITE & BLACK SCREEN.
So I turned off manually appeared then black screen where I can choose if starting normally, last good configuration etc...

    That's happened?
Is a hardware problem? Because my cpu died last month I changed it.

    Thank you!
(Sorry for my English I'm Italian)

    Hi, RSC

It is not easy to tell what can be the problem, but I assume that there is something wrong with the HARD drive. It will be interesting what happens with the new HARD drive.

If possible also start the recovery procedure to see if the HARD drive will be recognized correctly and if the recovery procedure starts correctly. Check it using the installation in expert mode where you have access to information from HARD drive (partitions and so on).

  • Black screen on Hp Pavilion dv7 Notebook

I had my Hp dv7 notebook for a few months now and have had no problems. But all of a sudden, I turn on the computer and see nothng but a white, black screen. I don't know if I changed the display settings or what, but I do not see anything. I know that the computer is running because the fan starts and the lights on the keyboard are working. When I connect my laptop to an external monitor, I was able to find that my computer was on and fully functional. In fact, I use it now on an external monitor to type this message.

I was wondering if I made a stupid mistake, or if it's something serious, please help ASAP

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi Mike,.

If you press f4 you see a menu on the screen with the options ' computer only; Two copies; Extend; Projector only "?"  If you do this, use the arrow keys to select duplicate , then press ENTER.

Now nothing shows on your laptop screen?

Let me know before going any further.

    Kind regards

  • HP Pavillion 11 x 360: black screen after login

I recently got my x 360, used for about a month, go to turn it on, boots fine then I connect, and it goes to a black screen with the cursor, can not do anything except ctrl alt delete, then Task Manager, nothing works, it's just a white, black screen
I restarted several times without success and becomes very annoying.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Boot the computer normally and log.

Black screen, old the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

    Select Task Manager.

Click on file and select the new task.

Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for "create this task with administrative privileges" - and click on Ok.

When system restore interface has loaded, select a restore point at least 48 hours before this connection problem occurred first and then proceed with the restoration of the system.

    Kind regards
