a problem with an installation of memory

Hello

I have trouble to install memory in addition to my currnt one card.

When I use the old one only it workes very well. When I use both my cmputer won't turn on. Instead, I hear 5 sound "beep". It lights when I use my new single memory as well.

I want to know what I'm doing wrong and what I should look for in a memory if mine does not fit my computer.

I use:

Win7 starter

computer pentium 4 32-bit.

the memory I have installed on my computer is:

DDR2
512 MB
PC-2 4300 (266 Mhz)

the new memory I bought is:
Kingston 512 MB DDR2 533 mhz pc2-4300 NON ECC Unbuffered Desktop PC RAM memory

My motherboard model:
HP-09f0h
Since its an old computer, I have not found an answer to my problom.

If you need more info, here is my cpu and motherboad info:

motherboard Info

CPU - info

Thank you!

Whenever you do an upgrade of RAM in the future and you want to it works as expected the first time it is turned on:

Always purchase compatible memory modules guaranteed

upgrade only pairs of identical memory modules.

What you are experiencing, it's what I expected to happen because you do not follow these two rules "" upgrade memory in PCs and laptops. Mixing memory you made generally results in failure at startup or in an unstable operating system.

I can't tell you what should work, because you have not identified your PC. This is not the same as upgrading a self built PC. Manufactured of PC memory upgrades are always executed by matching the name of the manufacturer of the model to the list on the site in the configuration utility or the manufacturer of memory by the manufacturer. Find a serial number on the side or rear. Post here the number of full product in the wire.

If I want to add memory to my motherboard ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z, I look in the manual of the motherboard memory compatibility list. It is quite different with a manufactured as your desktop PC.

I hope someone has a suggestion for this problem... I just bought a new laptop and Windows 7 Professional came installed on it.

    Thank you

    Linney thanks for your response!

The file I'm trying to install is an exe file (so the SIG file is embedded in the exe file).

I tried the option "Run As Administrator" and it did not work.  However, you gave me an idea that has provided a work around that allowed me to install the program.

Once this dialog box is displayed with all the control switches, rather than press 'OK', I left on the screen and went in the 'temp' folder and find the MSI program I tried to install (I cross referenced the timestamp of when I tried to install it to find).

Once I found the updated file, I clicked it, and he proceeded to install the program... I have not had any other problems with the installation.

So, there's something wrong with the way that the exe file have been created and how the files extracted from the msi file (these are files of Intel and Lenovo - driver updates - so I think they do these things) or there is a problem with Windows Installer.

For now, at least, I have a work around I use until I find a solution to this problem of permanent

Thanks for your help and for taking the time to answer!

Then "error 1722.  There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A fun program as part of the Setup did not finish as expected.

Earlier, I had a problem with the video and had Windows reinstalled 7.  Now my AOL games don't show/reading.  JAVA said error 1722 is an InstallShield error code. It indicates that the installation process has failed. The exact reason for this error is not known at this time.  I was told to uninstall JRE (Java Runtime Environment).  I find two versions of Java on my system (no JRE) - Java (TM) 6 - update 14 and 14 (64-bit).  Should I uninstall both?... Hi Betty48228,

Here's how to solve your problem:
    (1) uninstall all versions of Java.
    (2) the uninstall will probably fail. If so, get Revo Uninstaller free http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.htmland uninstall Java in advanced mode (integrated Java uninstaller runs, failure and then Revo will delete everthing manually). You will need to restart your PC.
    (3) reinstall Java: http://java.com/en/download/

  • Problem with Windows Installer (I think)

Hey I just got a new 'game' PC with all the good things like i7 processor nvidia GTS 250 graphics card. So I guessed I would setup games. Games were installed very well the problems started when I tried to run SteamInstall.msi he looks ready to install for 1 second and then close and nothing happen. Even try to do once again nothing. So I gave up with it.

Then I installed cod4, codwaw and download for both patches. When I try to install the patches it starts normal and after extractinng saying "" ".msi or msu or something it get stuck on the preparation for installation on both cod4, codwaw games and I think about others too... '".

So I guess that's my Windows Installer problem... ? Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (problems on SP1 also)

    Yoris,
I think that if you had a problem with Windows Installer, then you would have also had a problem installing the games themselves.  If after installing just the game, you are able to start the game, then you will need to determine if you really need the patches you install.  If they fix game issues and do not add any content, then you may not even need of patches.  If it turns out that you do not have the patches and they are self extracting\installing files and then save them to your desktop and then right click and select run as administrator and see if that helps.  You can also check with Activision support , because this can be a problem they know.
