  Thanks for posting. Is it a burned disc? If this is you please redownload the image. Also, try the following.

  1. place your Windows XP installation CD and start to her...
  2. Press any button to start the Windows installation (don't worry... we do not actually use the installer at this point)
  3. wait a few moments for the installation program starts, when you see repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, and then press the R key
  4. wait until you see this screen, enter the number of your master installation. (Typically 1 to C:\Windows)
  5. press ENTER.
  6. If you are prompted to do so, enter your administrator password. If you don't have one, leave the field blank and press to enter.
  7. from the command prompt, type: chkdsk/r (note the space between chkdsk and / r)
  Allow it to complete undisturbed.
  8. remove the disc, then restart.

  A few days ago that my adapter for my HP laptop failed when I plugged it in. After that, I bought a new.

  However, when I plugged in my laptop and I started it, it started to extremelly slow. So I decided to restarted in safe mode of Windows XP. However, when I run it in safe mode, I received many lines with an error similar to "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\...» ».

  The problem is that the laptop works very well, but it works extremelly slow.

  I ran the two BIOS HDD-selft test and check the Memory Diagnostic and there is no problem.

  After I run CHKDSK on the drive and there is no problem.

  QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE:

  (1) no idea how can I solve this problem?  (I have the CD DVD recovery and HP Windows XP Pro)

  (2) what I need to format my hard drive (clean reinstall of XP) and reinstall everything?

  (3) ==> is there any software where I can copy an image of my hard drive and then once formatted then I copy back yet once?

  • What switches did you use to run the chkdsk utility?

  You can also run the utility chkdsk from the command prompt and check if it helps. To run the command chkdsk utility follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start and click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type CMD and click Ok.
  3. In the command prompt, type the following command: chkdsk /f /r and press enter

  The disk check will take place in the reboot. Check if it finds errors and fixes it.

  Note:chkdsk may take a long time (for example, over several days) to complete. The computer is not available during this time because chkdsk does not relinquish control until it is completed.

  If this is not enough, you may need to back up your data on the computer before using the recovery disk HP and reinstalling Windows. You may need to reinstall the programs on the computer.

  If the installation provided with your Windows computer discs was preinstalled on the computer - it is OEM and cannot be moved. You can move Windows to another computer if you buy the retail version.

  Reinstalling the hard drive is made exactly as you did. The only option now is to try to replace the hard drive with a hard drive retail. It is the only way to determine if it is only the hard drive that has been damaged.

  If you need help to choose a replacement, post back with the complete model number or product as indicated on the Service tag on the bottom of the laptop. If you know what your hard drive capacity is just be sure to get one at least as large a capacity in order to use your recovery disks to reinstall Windows. It can be larger but not more small capacity, such as whether you have a 320 GB hard drive, now, you could use a 500 GB but not a 250 GB hard drive.

  The XP disk is bootable, just like disk Win98 I think.

  You should be able to start the computer with it in the CD player and be able to install, as long as your BIOS is set to boot from the CD - DVD drive.

  There is no way to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit; they are different operating systems.

  It must be done with a new installation of the 64-bit operating system.

  First thing to do is to check with Sony to see if 64-bit drivers are available for your machine:

  If disk management is unable to format your Micro SD try to do it in the command window. To do

  • Click on the start ORB in windows and type in the cmd search box
  • It will open a black window. There, type diskpart
  • Then type list disk
  • After that, you see a list of drive connected to your machine. Select your micro SD card. For example is your hard disk is on no. 1 and the microSD card in no 2 then typeselect disk 2
  • After that, you will see written disc 2 is now selected
  • Then type clean
  • create the primary partition
  • format fs = fat 32 fast
  • output

  See if your microSD has been formatted.

  If none then try to remove the card SD of your mobile phone (if you do) and try to connect a micro SD adapter and try to format it from there. Maybe it's your phone that prevents the operation.

  Otherwise if you already use an adapter for micro SD do, then check if it is not locked (with the key was found on the side of the adapter) or try to try with a new adapter.

  PLEASE, DO NOT RESPOND WITHOUT HAVING READ THE FIRST POST! IM NOT ASKING IF I CAN TRANSFER THE PRODUCT KEY ON ANOTHER COMPUTER! My laptop was stolen, but I have the Windows 7 product key.  Can I disable Win 7 for this laptop so they can not use it?  I don't want to transfer the product key on another computer, nor am I asking questions on the follow-up to the computer I bought a computer brand new with a perfectly good copy of win 7. I just need to disable the old key so that they get the Windows 7 is not geniune message and can not get updates.  Furthermore, I have a proof of purchase (original receipt from reception and cc) and entered it in the original box.

  If you know the correct product key, you can block the user in use- but it won't stop them reformatting and reinstalling using recovery disks from the manufacturer to reinstall using the OEM_SLP key - and it would also prevent your use your laptop must be returned.

  You must contact one of the centers of activation and inform them of the keys and the circumstances.

  They will then issue a global block on the key (which can take a long time) which will result in any attempt to validate or activate any system with this key, which gives a non-genuine message on the desktop - it will NOT prevent the use of the system, and it will NOT stop the user both take steps to steal the data and/or reformatting/reinstall.

  Also note that the key on the COA sticker on the case of the machine is not normally the one in use,- and if the key OEM_SLP is still in use, MS can take no action at all, as thousands of others would be affected.

  If you want the argument less to install and want to avoid the problems of material, that you ultimately won't be able to fix, install windows or linux, then run workstation on top of your host operating system and run ESXi inside vmware workstation.  Most likely, your sony will have problems with the disk controller.  If you are able to get around this, you can have problems with the network adapter.  If you can move together, then you have the chance.
