A start-up beep and no entry

Hello

Ive had my x 51 for about 2 years now and no I did not extend my warranty. A month before the incident, my computer randomly crashed and was accompanied to the screen it mixed with a thud. For some reason that I have not considered it. Fast forward a month to these constant accidents and something happens. The computer crashes as usual, and when I go to restart the computer, the screen says no entry. Strange thing about this is with the computer is located on the and I have the choice between my entries it detects one with my computer. But when I make the screen continues to say no entry.

Help, please

Hello!

First of all, I would recommend to check the graphics problems. Test the monitor on different video ports available on the discreet graphics card to use different cables or adapters video if possible. Additionally, make sure that the monitor is working properly by connecting to another computer or device.

If the problem continues, check if the system is to complete the phase of Post . Try pressing the Numlock or CAPSLOCK SHIFT and check if the respective led on the keyboard changes.

You can use this article for reference.

Let me know how it goes!

If you use Windows XP, you can accidentally activated filter keys.  To put this off just hold the two shift keys for a few seconds and the keyboard should work normally.

Then, the computer will die and I can not restart for about an hour.

It's a beep again and carry out again as I have this type.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hello

I can't say that if the problem is truly software related, in this case, you're on your own. Then you should try the following:

All data backup and recover the machine to check if the problem appears after the relocation of the entire system.
But don t install something else except the recovery, it's the most important thing.

The other solution would be to contact a local servicepartner for a checkup of material. They will see if your machine has some serious hardware malfunction, so they exchange defective parts in case of hardware problems.

Here´s a link to find the service/service partner:

  • Machine starts beeping and stops...

My friend just put a Corsair 850 watt power supply in his P6404y machine and tried to stock update the 9100 Nvidia graphics card to an Nvidia GTX 460 and the machine would be fine, however when he tried to play games the machine would beep and closed which is usually a symptom of a GPU overheat condition.  He then returned the GTX460 and upgraded to a PNY GTX 470 thinking his first card was a supplier without a name and the same problem occurs.   He then put a big fan next to his computer with the side and if the machine starts to beep it makes and may continue to operate, but I told him that option is not recommended.   There is nothing in the Bios to see what the parameters are for the monitoring of heat on a GPU and there is no newspaper generated indicating what the cause of the stop is.   We looked online for help and there is none available for mother Pegatron m2n78 - made by Asus for HP.   Is there a software that allows to monitor and change settings for the beaches of heat on a GPU, or y at - it another way to identify which monitors the machine for the heat so we can try to solve this problem.   The bios options are very limited and we are really stuck on this one.   Help, please!   Thank you

    Chuck

OK, we believe that we have solved the problem!   Even with the upgrade of the energy supply, the issue seems to be with the current Nvidia cards.   Under site Web CPUReview, they show the max of each graphics chip power draw.   Looks like the Nvidia GTX 460 drew 160 watts and the next card, we tried the Nvidia GTX 470 drew 170 watts maximum.    We tried and tried and failed to get the system working.    Now, a few months later, we were given another chance and used a card Geforce 9700 GS PCI-E and it works beautifully.   The card has not been fast enough, but he had only a maximum current of 82 watts.   Makes us think it was the fact that the GS 9700 uses DDR3 and recent Nvidia cards use DDR5, but after checking, we found that had nothing to do with the problem.   Then plunges us into the issue of tension and grabbed a new ATI Radeon HD 5450, who also ran fine and has a maximum circulation of power of 20 watts.   The map was underpowered for 3D graphics, so we then made a leap up to an ATI Radeon HD 6770 and again once it has worked very well to 108 watts.   Do not forget that we were back all our previous equipment, but we got a Thermaltake 500 watt power supply available, so we had already put in the machine that we thought that the stock of 300 watt power supply was a nameless, low power unit.   So far, he played several games at speed without any problems.   Our last thought is that the Pegatron m2n78 - the motherboard don't like prints of the power of the latest Nvidia cards.    I hope that helps you people!  Wooohoo! OK, it's game time!

  • Desktop HP Pavilion h8-1150z: desktop HP Pavilion h8-1150z - 6 beeps and no start

My Home Office HP Pavilion (Pav HP h8-1150z AMD (Angelica) 3 c NAPC) is about 3 and a half years (and apparently 6 months past my HP Care Pack coverage extension).   It runs Windows 7.  Yesterday while the computer was not idle, he began to make a new sound of snoring (a bit like a fan noise).  So I stopped the machine.

Now, when you try to restart, it gives 6 beeps and goes no further.  It's always a little strange noise of snoring.  After my research, it looks like it's some pre video failure.

I tried to remove the graphics card and re-sitting there.  While I had the video card, I tried to restart.  The sound of snoring had gone, but still have the 6 beeps.  While the Office has been opened, I also reinstall memory and blew out the dust.  Still no luck.

I've seen a few suggestions to clear CMOS but don't know what I would need to do it with this machine.  I unplug the machine and press down the power button for several seconds to erase any residual power.

Any suggestions/recommendations?  If it looks like my graphics card has gone bad, any suggestions on how to buy a compatible replacement?

    Thank you.

    old_geekster,

I talked to Support PNY and they agreed that the graphics card, I bought should be compatible but does not appear (maybe because I was running an old version of the bios on the HP computer, but I found myself stuck in being not able to update).

So I ended up finding another graphics card (EVGA GeForce 8400 GS 1 GB DDR3 PCIe 2.0 graphics card 16 x) and that did the trick!  Once I have installed the new card I was back running.

Thank you once again for all the help you have provided me and your community support!

  • ASUS GeForce GTX 750TI install on Pavilion P6 2010UK leads to 3 beeps and black screen

    Hello

I recently tried to install a 750TI Asus GeForce GTX on my HP Pavilion P6 2010UK using a SATA 6-pin PCI Express power connector, but after starting I get three beeps and a black screen. Can someone help me with this please?

As an observation, the PC was working fine before you install the new card.

    Hello

Many of the graphics cards NVIDIA GTX 750 will not work in the HP PC that do not have a BIOS version 8.  Your PC has a BIOS version 7 and I do not expect HP to publish a version 8 BIOS for your PC.

Return the card and try one of the models that should run on a PC equipped with a legacy BIOS.

  • HP xw4600 workstation: 6 beeps and no display

    Hello
I have a problem 3 days ago, I turned off my pc normally during the night, when I corrected it on the next morning, that it works but I couldn't see anything on the screen and I only heard 6 beeps, after searching the net, have proposed that this is mainly caused by "secure starting" is enabled , and the way to turn it off is to remove the graphics card and use the one built into the bios, but the problem here, it is that I don't have a VGA integrated to do this, is there any solution for this? Thank you

    Hello:

Secure boot is n/a to your PC, your PC is released prior to windows being around 8.

The problem is probably due to a bad sitting video card or video card failure.

Remove and firmly reinsert the video card and see if that takes care of the issue.

If this is not the case, most likely the video card died on you.

See the troubleshooting guide, Chapter 5, page 44.

  • Satellite L500-14Z starts to beep when it reaches 10% of battery

    Greetings,

As I installed the sound card driver on my laptop, it always starts to beep when it reaches 10% battery in every 10 seconds. It is not a voice of Windows, but I tried to look for the sound controls and even the BIOS to disable this thing. It may be useful in some cases, but I really want to get rid of him or to use only if the screen is off and I do not see the level of battery charge.

Overall, the question is, how do I disable or control the sound signal after the 10% battery level without uninstall the Realtek audio driver?

    Yours Sincerely,

    Fifty

    Hello

    You can disable it in:
Start > Control Panel > Sound

There, click the sounds tab in sound properties

Choose in the small window called sound and critical battery alarm choose no sound.

Apply the changes and restart the laptop.

  • a short beep and 1 beep on hp pavilion media center 8120n

My Tower is not start when I turn it on.  My son took off the side and that he was going to put more memory in it for me, but in the end it didn't.  He put the memory old back in and put the side cover back on.  Today, when I turn it on, it has 1 short beep and 1 long beep.  It just won't boot to the top.  Can someone tell me what I should do to get this operational return?

    RBurke, welcome to the forum.

The BIOS beep Code you hear is due to a memory problem.  Here's a guide that will help solve the problem:

You should read the entire page.  Beep codes common to HP computers are towards the bottom of the page.

    Hello

    1. do you receive this after you see Start button or entry?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

Method 1: Boot errors are fixed by the clean boot.

Perform the clean boot and see if that helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

Reference: How to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: when you're done to diagnose, follow step 7 in the article to start on normal startup.

Method 2: Some malware parody itself as InfoCenter.exe, especially when it is located in the folder c:\windows or c:\windows\system32.

I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.

Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

, Note 1: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note 2: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Hello

Situations of BIOS corrupted can be not recoverable with some versions of the HP BIOS.

Disconnect the PC and remove CMOS battery and press and hold the power button for 60 seconds. While the battery is removed, test it with a voltmeter-ohm - and if it isn't close to 3.3 volts, then replace it.  It's a $4 item.  If the battery is good before you reinstall it, plug the PC back in and give it a go.

This procedure of recovery of the HP BIOS claims to work by internal HP.  Read the instructions carefully.

  • drive hard beep and does not

I have a laptop E1 571 and have been using it with win 10 since its release, had minor problems, but the day of Christmas (from everyday) my hard drive started to make beep sounds and load, only to start menu screen but the hd does not!

Photo of the scene, taking pictures of the fam on Christmas day and need to load them onto my laptop so I continue to put my mem stick in laptop, copy photos anywhere on disk, but by the time finished my laptop decided to crash. I rebooted it without any problem, but the laptop moved it crashed again and did not the acer logo screen, before you tell me, I have a pxe - e61 media test failure blah blah blah (this is after I have F2ed the hell out of it and changed to the legacy bios.)

I tried to see if the hard drive would work on my pc, but it made the same beep and does not appear in 'my computer '.

Do I need a new hard drive or I can solve this problem by using backup/restore discs? I will need to buy or download Acer?

a HARD beep disc is a symptom of death.

You can only buy a new HARD drive.

You can't really uninstall and reinstall OE without having to reinstall XP as OE is a part of it. I hope your foray into the registry does not require a reinstall of XP.
