A1100y Pavilion Desktop crashes

I have a Pavillion with XP3 which restarts at random times and is back with the serious error message.  I've already tried

update most drivers and disable restart with error checking.  I changed the power supply and hard drive.  I was hoping to spend this machine to Win 7.  Any thoughts?

Escargot9, welcome to the forum.

When I see an old computer, my first thought is the power supply unit (PSU).  However, since you upgraded the PSU, my next well is memory.  There is no form on the Product Specifications page.  So I can't say how many modules are installed on the computer.  If there is no diagnosis in the BIOS, you can test the memory by deleting all the modules and replacing them one at a time and start.

This is the section "solving a problem" of the computer.  You can go in the memory (RAM) / motherboard / BIOS section to see if all the guides will help you.

Once the computer running, you must run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.  This will tell you if it is running on the computer.  If you don't have 2 GB of memory, this is a must with Win 7.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

"However a pop-up message: this software cannot be installed on a Hewlett-Packard system".

    No reason?

Is there any burning software can be installed in my pc?

    Hello:

I'm surprised that the software did not work.

    See if this version works...

This package provides CyberLink Power2Go in the supported models running a supported operating system. CyberLink Power2Go is a burning software that allows users to burn data, music or video disks. It offers support for CD, DVD, HD DVD and Blu - ray discs and includes features for disk copy.

If that doesn't work either, I like this free software... I install the version without open candy.

The specifications of product software for your model, indicates that it does not come with any software CD/DVD burning.

  • HP Pavilion desktop computer - a 550-015: update map PSU and graphics

I currently have the HP Pavilion Desktop 550 015 which has a 180w PSU and a GTX 745.

I'm looking to upgrade to a power supply 450W and then later on the track upgrade the graphics card. I learned that some pre-built computers have a BIOS limitation, which may mean that it will not approve some GPU chipsets.

Is this the case with my PC?

Thank you for the additional information.

I see no reason why this power supply does not work for you.  I love Corsair products.  However, if I were you, I would buy a 500W power supply at least.  It will give extra power to the use of maximum power and won't cost much more if necessary.

  • the HP Pavilion Desktop 500-329 GPU upgrade

Hello! I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the GPU and the power supply of my

    HP Pavilion Desktop PC 500-329

The GPU is a GTX 960 and the PSU is a 500W EVGA power.

I read that I had to turn on legacy something with the computer with the f10 boot menu. I made this and just want to know if it's possible.

Yes, you can upgrade, simply follow the recommendations of the manufacturer of the graphics card on the connectors and the power of the power supply.

You have a PCI Express x 16 (Gen 3.0) card slot there will be plenty of choice for video cards.

  • HP-Pavilion Desktop PC recovery error MediaCentre

Hello, my friend tried to install windows 7 Home premium on his PC, and now I'm trying to get the PC back to factory setting.

I have the following desktop PC

    HP-Pavilion Desktop PC MediaCentre

    M8095a RZ557AA-ABG

    AUD716065V

    Windows Vista SP1 x 86

The recovery partition is available and I am able to get into recovery mode, only problem after hp recovers then windows restarts and is supposed to desktop installation, I get an error

The system registry contains invalid paths, the Installation cannot continue. This system image was applied without gauranteeing that correspond to computers drive letter assignments.

is there a way to solve this problem and recover back to factory settings.

    CAN SOMEONE PLEASE?

    Thank you

I solved the problem, if someone has this problem all you have to do is the following.

I used a live Linux OS and booted the PC,

I then chose live OS and started the OS

I then opened the partition manager and deleted the partition of 100 MB Windows 7 creates

Then, I deleted the partition to the OS and created a new partition NTFS

so now the partition table looked exactly as it did with the original Vista operating system

Then I restarted my PC and went into recovery and restore the PC back to factory default mode.

the pc is now as it was, and I have to remove some unwanted junk hp and upgrade program to windows 7

the last time I tried to create the recovery disk that the PC would not recognize one of my DVDs, I hope that I don't have the same problem this time.

  • P7-1534 HP pavilion desktop PC, stop and sleep problem

P7-1534 HP pavilion desktop PC, Windows 8, 64 - bit, sometimes when I turned off my PC, the PC does will not off it stays on and I have to use the power button to turn off the PC and today I put the PC to sleep and he did not wake up when I tried to wake up that I had to use the reboot of the PC power button. I did a diagnosis of memory and found no errors.

    Hi dwellas

I understand that you are having problems with the computer is shut down and not being able to wake up.

You can have an application or process that runs in the background that not stop correctly. Close all applications on the status bar that you can, make sure you first close all programs, and then try again. If this works, you should see what you have installed which can be the cause of this.
  • speakers stopped working in HP Pavilion Desktop PC

My speakers stopped working in my HP Pavilion Desktop PC. The computer says that they work, but there is no sound and the speakers are not muted. Can someone help me?

Based on what you describe, you could try going into Device Manager and uninstall the audio drivers and then restart, but if this does not work, chances are that at work, there is a possible hardware problem. Which, given that it is a chip that is soldered to the motherboard, involving probably would involve having the unit in a repair center.

  • (Still fairly new) HP Pavilion Desktop PC beeps and there is no screen

Last year I bought a 2nd Pavilion desktop computer - it came with 8 Win. I bought a second WD 1 TB HARD drive as a backup drive and installed in the machine under the Seagate HDD factory. Using my 1st PC ISO Pavilion purchased the previous year, I had OS (8 win so) and tried it migrate to the 2nd HARD drive backup white PC I installed. In this way, between two PCs, I would have 3 1 TB HDD with a Windows 8 operating system. However, when you install Windows on this backup disk, I lost screen 100% function as if it weren't even plugged in the Vid card and after re-booting, I get 6 beeps, no screen, but the PC seems to work all along. I can't of course in the bios with no operation screen to check what I have changed inadverdantly by introducing a copy of an OS on a 2nd drive. If anyone can help?

You have a real dilemma.  The fact that you don't have VGA is not a good thing, in this case.  I can hardly believe that you fried the PCIE slot.  I put most of my money on the BIOS.  However, more strange things happened.  I wish I could come up with a magic solution, but at this point, I am not sure of the result.

One last thought.  When everything has failed, clear the CMOS.  I saw one step to solve many problems.  I don't have much hope in this case, however.

Solved the mystery - everything under the Sun EXCEPT tried without clogging the cable of data to the HARD drive, then plug again WHILE the PC was still power up - got instantly on screen, and windows runs perfect - go figure, right?

want to thank you for trying to help - we appreciate it!

    All the best,

  • upgrade to Windows 7 on Pavilion a1100y CTO desktop PC

I wait with upgare my current OS from XP to Windows 7.  The upgrade is not from HP.  This upgrade won't work and will I need to reinstall the drivers for the network?

If Yes, where can I get these from.  Don't get on the HP website.

    Hello:

On your model, Windows 7 should automatically install most drivers.

The reason why HP does not have drivers for your PC W7 because the on-board graphics card can not fully run all the features of W7.

There is no graphic driver for it.

If you have already committed to the purchase of windows 7, you can try this work around using a laptop PC graphics driver to install the graphics card. It may or may not work.

Download and run this graphics driver. You can get an error not supported operating system. Conclusion of any windows error.

Go to Device Manager and click to expand the category graphics cards. Click on the VGA Standard card.

Click the driver tab, click Update Driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software method and navigate to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file above.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and I hope that the driver will be installed.

He can't work that on W7 32 bit, there is no graphics drivers or tricks to get this graphics card to work with W7 64 bit.

If you have not yet bought Windows 7, I recommend that you do not upgrade due to the inconsistency above.

  • Pavilion a6655f crashes

I bought a pavilion of a6655f about a month ago and everything works great... except for the part when it crashes

See, it happens all the time when I run a game in 2D, it's always the same I play and that the screen move then everything crashes, computer stops responding and does nothing at all... also rest on the screen as with the stuff that I looked at, but there are thin vertical lines red all over the screen, and then I have to restart manually by pressing the button for about 5 seconds Once the computer has done this and it turns off, then when I turned it on again, it wouldn't start... He stood just at the initial start of HP screen.

I think it's a display issue or I don't know, my drivers are up to date and my computer, it is in stock, I have not changed anything.

Vista 64, integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430.

After reading several forums on problems like that, I came to the conclusion that the problem is the integrated processor or a card or something else, I read that people has solved that problem by returning the machine and the store replaced a defective MOBO, in any case, it is my conclusion based on what I read also I think it's true because I just upgraded to a HD4670 and it works great, and it is not locked, so that you either, go back and say it is damaged, or upgrade, I would stay there I got rid of the problem already, but I'm too lazy so meh...

No msg error / warning and without cursor, etc., illustrated. Power rest on and unable to manually turn off monitor light. Solution is to disconnect and reconnect the monitor. Been returned to the screen, I went without loss of work.

This continued for a few weeks now and monitor function to tell first 20 minutes of the day without going black. The longest operating it gets worse. EG exploded 9 times in an hour.

Connections verified. Microsoft and HP drivers updated. Reinstalled Norton and I like that it is not the cause of the problem.

I'm trying to borrow another monitor / cable test, but any suggestions is appreciated please.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Looks like your monitor is dying.  I had the same symptoms on a flat of Dell.  When the Panel was cold, it worked OK, but it heats, he started to fail.  Once he got hot, it would fail on several occasions.  I had to let it cool down for a half hour or more, and plug it in again - and the process began.

I looked into having repaired, and the cost has outpaced that in the purchase of a newer sign.

Probably the same situation with your panel of HP.
