  My computer froze when I was watching a movie and I had to stop it. When I got to the top, it was really slow and eventually crash within minutes. I tried to use system restore and I chose a restore point from the day before, but he would usually give me an error message that does not make sense. I also tried the Startup Repair. However, this disk running will delete all my files. I think that my files may still be on my computer because nothing happened that should deleted, because the upgrade to Windows 7 (although incomplete) should have moved my files to a folder named windows.old.

  My files are very important, and I hope there's a way to fix my computer without deleting them (assuming they are still on my hard drive). If there isn't a way to get back them, then I'll be always ready to launch the Vista backup drive. My last backup file was about three months ago, and there are a lot of significant changes since then.

  I tried the upgrade to Windows 7 again and this time it worked. It often freezes, but as long as I'm careful I can keep it from crashing. I am currently backing up my files and when it's done I'll use my backup disks. Thanks anyway for your help.

  I have a Pavillion with XP3 which restarts at random times and is back with the serious error message.  I've already tried

  update most drivers and disable restart with error checking.  I changed the power supply and hard drive.  I was hoping to spend this machine to Win 7.  Any thoughts?

  When I see an old computer, my first thought is the power supply unit (PSU).  However, since you upgraded the PSU, my next well is memory.  There is no form on the Product Specifications page.  So I can't say how many modules are installed on the computer.  If there is no diagnosis in the BIOS, you can test the memory by deleting all the modules and replacing them one at a time and start.

  This is the section "solving a problem" of the computer.  You can go in the memory (RAM) / motherboard / BIOS section to see if all the guides will help you.

  Once the computer running, you must run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.  This will tell you if it is running on the computer.  If you don't have 2 GB of memory, this is a must with Win 7.

  (1) uninstall and restart

  If you have either of these programs and it is not essential, try to uninstall it then restart Windows to ensure that none of its components are running.

  Question: My HP p6710f desktop computer crashes at startup when 2 Sandisk Cruzer USB drive (8 GB/FAT32, a 16 GB/FAT32) is installed in a hub Targus USB2 multiport (connected to the back USB port of p6710f).

  With USB flash drives installed, from a market boot: Boot past the BIOS (blue) screens, then 'underline' cursor blinks just on the black screen and hangs.  It does not start a Win7 from the hard drive.

  If I do the trunk with the key removed USB, the boot process proceeds normally and starts Win7 disk.

  I have flashed to the latest ROM system from the support page of p6710f.  Who really seemed to solve the problem for a while, but the hook finally reappeared.

  I copied all the data on USB flash drives, formatted their 'rapid' and copied all the data back.  No joy.

  This happens everytime I open the first Pro CC. I was not able to find info online about it. First Pro CC works very well on my desktop, but for some reason he hates my laptop.

  Firefox started crashing on startup today ' hui - goes directly to the Crash Reporter. Does not correctly send the accident report. Firefox in safe mode does not help. Tried to uninstall followed by clean install, no change. Tried to clean the installation of an earlier version 41, 0 - no change.

  As long as I can guess, I note something that is coming a lot lately: If you use Norton Security software, it seems to be a serious boot problem crash if you also have a program called Freecorder from Applian Technologies.   After update to Firefox 40.0.3 several weeks back, Firefox would crash at startup. I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled FIrefox (now with version 41), this is updated to Windows (Vista 64-bit), shockwave and Flash Player updated, uninstalled Firefox and deleted the Mozilla folder in AppData Roaming directory. Update some addins, FreeMake in particular. Disabled antivirus (Norton 360). I'm unable to start Firefox in safe mode (when I hold SHIFT and you try to start Firefox comes immediately to the crash report). Versions prior to 40.0.3 worked without any problems.

  Hello daniel, it seems there is a library named SPVC32.dll on your computer involved in these accidents. a googles search reveals that this may be part of 'Conduit search Protect', which could be considered adware or malware.

  go to Control Panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software you have in place and various other tools such as the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.
