HP Pavilion dv7 crashes at startup
My computer froze when I was watching a movie and I had to stop it. When I got to the top, it was really slow and eventually crash within minutes. I tried to use system restore and I chose a restore point from the day before, but he would usually give me an error message that does not make sense. I also tried the Startup Repair. He said he found a problem and tried to fix it, and it would run Windows normally if it succeeded. Nothing has changed, and Windows has continued to slow down and crash. So I re-upgraded my computer to Windows 7. It seems to work very well until he got to step 5 (end of installation) and did nothing more than an hour. So I canceled the installation, but still, he wouldn't do anything. I held the power button and shut it down.
Since then, my computer crashes always after the HP logo appears. It shows just a black screen and after a while, several squares/rectangles appear on the screen. Whenever I press F11 at the HP logo, it just shows a blank screen and makes a beep sound whenever I press a key. When I run the Windows 7 upgrade disc, it seems to load correctly but the installation window does not appear. When I ran my backup of Windows Vista disk, it works perfectly fine. However, this disk running will delete all my files. I think that my files may still be on my computer because nothing happened that should deleted, because the upgrade to Windows 7 (although incomplete) should have moved my files to a folder named windows.old.
My files are very important, and I hope there's a way to fix my computer without deleting them (assuming they are still on my hard drive). If there isn't a way to get back them, then I'll be always ready to launch the Vista backup drive. My last backup file was about three months ago, and there are a lot of significant changes since then.
I tried the upgrade to Windows 7 again and this time it worked. It often freezes, but as long as I'm careful I can keep it from crashing. I am currently backing up my files and when it's done I'll use my backup disks. Thanks anyway for your help.

A1100y Pavilion Desktop crashes
I have a Pavillion with XP3 which restarts at random times and is back with the serious error message. I've already tried
update most drivers and disable restart with error checking. I changed the power supply and hard drive. I was hoping to spend this machine to Win 7. Any thoughts?
Escargot9, welcome to the forum.
When I see an old computer, my first thought is the power supply unit (PSU). However, since you upgraded the PSU, my next well is memory. There is no form on the Product Specifications page. So I can't say how many modules are installed on the computer. If there is no diagnosis in the BIOS, you can test the memory by deleting all the modules and replacing them one at a time and start.
This is the section "solving a problem" of the computer. You can go in the memory (RAM) / motherboard / BIOS section to see if all the guides will help you.
Once the computer running, you must run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. This will tell you if it is running on the computer. If you don't have 2 GB of memory, this is a must with Win 7.
Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

Firefox worked on my Windows 7 desktop. One day he gave me a report of crash at startup, I went through the troubleshooting procedures suggested. I tried restarting, upgrade, uninstalled and reinstalled, uninstalled and cleaned the files and the registry and deleted the files module then resettled but nothing works. It keeps giving a crash report on startup. I remember that my Symantec software gave a message that FireFox has been stopped due to an attack on my system. Ever since then, it won't work and I can't seem to cross the screen to crash at startup of FireFox.
Thank you for the report crash IDs. If you open the error reports and click on the 'Modules' tab, you will see that the first on the list in each case is "FLVSrvLib.dll". This module installs with various programs of Applian Technologies including Freecorder and Replay Media Catcher.
This crash is closely related to have BOTH software Applian software of security AND Norton. As no doubt you don't want spend away from Norton, you can remove or disable the Applian software as follows:
(1) uninstall and restart
If you have either of these programs and it is not essential, try to uninstall it then restart Windows to ensure that none of its components are running.
Firefox will start normally after that?
(2) avoid auto-start
If you do not uninstall the program, a few others said using the msconfig program to stop execution at startup FlvSrvc.exe circumvented the problem.
See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-system-configuration
You may still need to restart to unload the software of your current Windows session.
Success?

my windows Explorer crashes on startup
First of all, I have a Dell Inspiron with Windows 7, he made a few updates as a couple of days, and now in the last two days, my windows explored hangs just for no reason, usually right start, before I even do at all, I even had several times manually just turned off the computer all together, all the world knows what he is It had not done before yesterday
Hi Corey Guthrie.
I see that windows Explorer crashes on startup. I'll help you with this problem.
1. what security software is installed on the computer?
2. are you able to boot to desktop screen?
Method 1.
If you are able to boot to the desktop screen, you can try a system restore and check.
System Restore: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore
Important: System Restore will return all system files not as documents, email, music, etc., to a previous state. These files of types are completely affected by the restoration of the system. If it was your intention with this tool to recover a deleted file to non-system, try using a file instead of system restore recovery program.
Method 2.
If you are unable to boot to the desktop, and then follow these steps.
Step 1.
Start the computer in safe mode and check if that helps.
Advanced startup options (including safe mode): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
If you are able to start the computer in safe mode, you can restore the system to safe mode.
Once you are able to get to the screen and the computer still restarts, then you can perform these steps.
Step 2.
A clean boot to test if any element of service or third party application startup is causing this issue.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 3 of article start normal to start.
Step 3.
You can run the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.
Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.
Step 4.
I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if that helps. The SFC/SCANNOW command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.
For more information how to make SFC / scan, please follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
Try these steps and let us know the status.

p6710f, crashes at startup when installing 2 Cruzer of Sandisk USB flash drives
Hello
Question: My HP p6710f desktop computer crashes at startup when 2 Sandisk Cruzer USB drive (8 GB/FAT32, a 16 GB/FAT32) is installed in a hub Targus USB2 multiport (connected to the back USB port of p6710f).
With USB flash drives installed, from a market boot: Boot past the BIOS (blue) screens, then 'underline' cursor blinks just on the black screen and hangs. It does not start a Win7 from the hard drive.
With USB flash drives installed, from a bunch of market: If in the (blue) BIOS screen, I hit the ESC and select the hard disk device (which is the top of the "boot device") then boot proceeds normally and boots Win7 from the hard drive.
If I do the trunk with the key removed USB, the boot process proceeds normally and starts Win7 disk.
I have flashed to the latest ROM system from the support page of p6710f. Who really seemed to solve the problem for a while, but the hook finally reappeared.
I copied all the data on USB flash drives, formatted their 'rapid' and copied all the data back. No joy.
Here is a link to the Sandisk Cruzers. I deleted all the files on U3/etc. out of them, I want all of the space available on them for auxiliary data storage, I can't boot from them:
Thanks for any help,
-Gary K

Hi all
Please try to reinstall the latest version of the driver for your GPU AMD or NVIDIA, and then restart the computer. This seems to have resolved most of the cases we have seen.
Thank you

Firefox crashes at startup, even in safe mode
Firefox has just started to crash at startup, even in safe mode.
I also tried to create a new profile (which Firefox let me do), but it crashed as soon as I tried to use the new profile.
The only way I could get it to start is putting him to work offline, which is obviously not very useful.
Here are a few crash IDs:
BP-d5fc34cb-2f6b-48CE-8327-ceb2c2151011

The last ID is for is the first crash I got, which didn't happen at startup.
Thanks for the tips. I still don't know what was wrong, but a restart of the computer has set.

Firefox crashes on startup - going straight to the Crash Reporter
Firefox started crashing on startup today ' hui - goes directly to the Crash Reporter. Does not correctly send the accident report. Firefox in safe mode does not help. Tried to uninstall followed by clean install, no change. Tried to clean the installation of an earlier version 41, 0 - no change.
Just before what happened got an opinion on Norton Toolbar, and I chose not to activate it.
Have also tried to turn Norton turned off before reinstalling - no change. Also said Norton to ignore xul.dll, which sometimes he puts in quarantine during updates (detection of false suspects cloud 9).
The later saved report of June so probably isn't relevant. Here's what the Crash report attempts to send:

Hmm, Yes, incident reports are old now.
As long as I can guess, I note something that is coming a lot lately: If you use Norton Security software, it seems to be a serious boot problem crash if you also have a program called Freecorder from Applian Technologies. If you find Freecorder in your Start menu > all programs or in your control panel, uninstall a program, and it is not crucial to keep it, please try to delete it. You have to maybe stop and restart Windows to make sure that it is completely disabled.

41 of Firefox crashes, FIrefox was crashing at startup from the 40.0.3 updated
Crash ID: bp-fceb36ed-dad2-4eab-9836-687df2150928
Hello
After update to Firefox 40.0.3 several weeks back, Firefox would crash at startup. I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled FIrefox (now with version 41), this is updated to Windows (Vista 64-bit), shockwave and Flash Player updated, uninstalled Firefox and deleted the Mozilla folder in AppData Roaming directory. Update some addins, FreeMake in particular. Disabled antivirus (Norton 360). I'm unable to start Firefox in safe mode (when I hold SHIFT and you try to start Firefox comes immediately to the crash report). Versions prior to 40.0.3 worked without any problems.I look forward to hear from you, thanks! David
Sorry to hear about the accident and that you have the ID of the report.
The signature seems a disproportionate impact on the users of Vista. There is a bug in the accident report, but it is for the test of 64-bit versions of Firefox and the final versions are all 32-bit versions.
I see a reference to FLVSrvLib.dll in the report (at the top of the list in the mini Modules tab), which is a DLL associated with Freecorder program Applian Technologies. In other threads, users have experienced startup crashes if they Freecorder and Norton.
If you have indeed the Freecorder program and it is not essential, try to uninstall it then restart Windows to ensure that none of its components are running.
Firefox will start normally after that?

Crashes in safe mode as well (hold down the SHIFT key)

10.2.3 crash at startup
Since the update I get a crash at startup or when you choose a template. I tried to create a new user and with the new logical user not crushed (seen a video on youtube on this subject). Anyway to fix that works in my usual user?
I suggest that you download the app free "FCS Remover" (digitalrebellion.com) and use it to uninstall LPX. Reset. Launch of the App Store, in the purchase section, find Logic Pro X and click install.

/ DanielHello daniel, it seems there is a library named SPVC32.dll on your computer involved in these accidents. a googles search reveals that this may be part of 'Conduit search Protect', which could be considered adware or malware.
go to Control Panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software you have in place and various other tools such as the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.
