A60-302: problems with Win XP SP2 update

I have Win XP Home OEM and installed SP2. Since then, the desktop icons are refreshed terribly slowly (for example at startup). Sometimes it takes 2-3 seconds for a simple icon appears in place of his general "icon". I'm just interested in other experiments in this.

Another thing that has changed is that 'The House' disappeared from the Windows XP startup screen (the screen with the 3 small boxes from left to right), so now it says only "Windows XP." He disappeared with the others, too? Oh yes, and the little boxes changed to blue from green, which is, of course, not a very important issue, but always - is this normal?

Finally, does anyone have an idea if there is a Toshiba official e-mail address where should be sent issues related to Windows? Just because the web page Microsoft says questions about OEM products should be addressed to the manufacturer of the equipment. I could not find such an address, even in SUPPORT, only this forum.

I think that you have installed the Toshiba Recovery BONE, havn't you?
and what laptop do you have? This info is important!

For your first question with the icons I have no experience, but for the second.

The colors changed boxes bit is a little confusing because XP Home are Greens and XP Prof blue ones!

If you want the support of toshiba you must go to the country specific Toshiba Web page where you live or you bought the laptop. Here on the Web page you can find a banner with a support phone number on the left side in the middle of the site.
Mail support is also country specific and is not available in all countries!

    You can try to disable the GPU performance by clicking on the icon of the rocket in the bar of the App, or on the top of the menu bar, deselect the box Performance GPU; You may also uncheck performance GPU in your preferences.

    I think that the issue should be fixed with the 19.0.1 patch.

    For weeks I can't update my Win 7 Home Basic on an ACER PC of detail.

    I get the usual Windows Update screen, it shows the download of updates, but then it shows (0 total KB, 0% complete), while 0% does not change.

    I chose the only feature in the file of 1 MB to see if changes as the download progresses but 0% 0% does not change in 10% or more not even after 40 minutes.

    It seems that something stops the download.

    Please tell us how to make the change from 0% being downloaded.  Thank you.

    I'm not sure that the two problems are related... I don't know what topic to choose.

    I have a custom, with Win 7 machine, and I install all required updates. But for a while (months? I turn it off every night) it says 15 updates are available every time that I reboot, and I see no updates installed (I search for installed updates today).

    Anyway, let them go all the way, and when I restart, I have no connection. It's happened several times (everytime I reboot). Maybe that I had the chance to solve the problem by restarting (and reinstalling :)) 15 updates, but today I can't. I am connected by wire to a modem. Our all other computers work.

    I have a job in the process and need my internet connection (easier to work on a desktop computer with large screen of a laptop) and I can't.

    In network and sharing Center, there is a cross between 'Several networks' and the internet. I have the message if I 'connect or disconnect' "no Internet access.

    I did ipconfig, and I get media disconnected. I did not unplug anything!

    After update to install 3.6 LR, LR will recognize is no longer Photoshop CS5 64-bit as an external editor. After adding it again manually, it still doesn't let me use various features of Photoshop plugin. No "merge to a panorama' or 'merge to HDR' or 'open as smart object' or 'open as layer '. I was able to add manually the Photoshop C5 return as long as editor-in-Chief, but the options are still grayed out and pictures will not be re - import in Lightroon after editing. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Absolutely no problem before installing 3.6 LR.  Any suggestions? I do not want to reinstall Photoshop CS5 and I can't uninstall LR 3.6 will fix the problem...

    I had the same problem with my desktop i7 Win 7 CS5 manually added but things just weren't right then reinstalled Photoshop CS5 and now everything is fine. Problem list that I had with an update of Lightroom came to 2.4. A side note ran that same update on my Win 7 i5 laptop no matter what so ever.
