acceleration of GTX 980

I've just updated my gtx 580 to the 980 gtx video card so that I can use a ultra screen of LG.  First pro CS6 puffs of heat now a message that the GPU acceleration is not supported.  (rendering seems to take more time that he did with the gtx 580, also, although I don't have the numbers to support that impression).  y at - it a update/update available which allows the GPU acceleration with the gtx 980 in first?  Thank you.

You need to hack the card by removing the support for Cuda Card.txt from the root file.

    Hi all

I have a GTX 980, I activate the use of the GPU in the preferences of the project, when I read a video, the red bar is replaced by the yellow bar.

However when I apply an effect on my video, as for example, stabilizing my red bar once more, which means that the GPU is not asked if I'm not mistaken.

How to make the GPU is used?

  • GTX 980 and no splash screen

I have a ti GTX 980 flashed running in a Mac Pro(on external power) 2010. It shows only a splash screen, however, so I attach a No 4 k monitor DVI port. Monitors Dell P2415Q 4 k (except for a random time) show no video until the initialization is complete. This means that I must keep an old DVI monitor on all the time to get not only the splash screen but even to get any video output at all on end of startup. Without a monitor DVI the Dells don't show any video and go mode 'sleep'. Bootcamp Windows 7 displays the same behavior. Any ideas?

How the P2415Q is normally connected? If you try HDMI then try rather Displayport.

If your card was flashed did buy you it from MacVidCards? If so, ask them for assistance.

  • TI GTX 980 on external power

It's smarter to run the 6 pin and 8 pin on the GTX 980 TI off external power supply, or is it better to run the six pins in the internal power supply and PIN 8 of the external power supply?

Users say it is best to run all the form of power to the same source.

  • Cursed GTX 980 TI

My GTX 980 TI flashed by Mac Vid cards is cursed. First of all, it does not start at all when connected to the internal power supply which is not the norm for this card. Then, once current running on external power, he started with web Nivida KP drivers listed as number one in track and a large number of references following Nvidia or Apple IO. The newspaper KP read almost of the same save whether or not it was CPU 0 or a CPU who initiated the panic.  Time to start the carillon was 30 seconds. Now it does not chime at all. It crashes just in POST. On a PC machine I pull the card, reset the ram and shoot all the other cards. Would probably uninstall and re-install the drivers. My PCIe slot configuration has the GTX in track 1. A map of blade OWC E2 SSD in slot 2. A 4322 Rocketraid in location of three and a Sonnet USB 3.0 card into the Groove 4. This configuration works very well with the original ATI HD I'm too slow card. Any other ideas?

If the amount of energy on which connectors is you are looking for, and how have you provided? two six-pin? a six one eight? two of the eight?

  • GTX 980 TI still does not work

I bought a GTX 980 TI knowing that I probably would feed the 6 and 8 pins externally. I thought it would work at least to normal loads while I built a more elegant solution. No dice. The machine just clicks and dies. I got a new PSU ATX modular power and jumped the Green and soil and can turn on the power. When I turn on the power supply with it connected to the 6 and 8 pins on the map, however, the power does not depend on it self. What gives? I found a PS jumped fastest way and dirty to power a card like this on the outside. PS won't even turn. Does anyone know if someone is always selling a solution mini itx 5.25 which can automatically detect and goes into the 5.25 Bay?

I'm agree that normally one would expect this card to always allow to boot but would struggle at full load with just built-in power.

  • Pavilion HPE-H8-1221: will be a job of it Gigabyte Nvidia geforce gtx 980 with the mother of HP H8-1221.

    Nice day

Looking to upgrade my Pavillion H8-1221 son with a better graphics card, currently it is running an EVGA geforce GTX 660 and we are looking for upgrade to GTX 980 it.  I was wondering if this will require an upgrade mobo as well or is the OEM card sufficient to manage this card.

    Thanks much for any help.

    SonicRising, welcome to the forum.

I don't think that the video card will work on his computer.  980ti GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  The only BIOS update that is available is to win 8.  You will need to update in 8 Win.

Regarding the upgrade of the motherboard, HP has their motherboards manufactured to their specifications.  Therefore, you must buy a Board that has holes that will correspond to the accessory in the case.  In addition, connectors can be owners, and may not correspond to those of the species.

  • Lenovo-ThinkPad-W541-20EFCTO1WW: is it possible to change/upgrade Quadro K2100M of GTX 980 M?

is it possible to change/upgrade GPU - Quadro K2100M of GTX 980 M in ws laptop Lenovo "ThinkPad W541' (20EFCTO1WW)?

I like the laptop, but the GPU portion is not for pc games, so iwould like to know weather is it physically possible to change this QuadroK2100M in the Lenovo ThinkPad W541 games GPU i.e. GTX 980 M?

    Thanks in advance!

The GPU is soldered to the motherboard, so he can't be replaced.

The K2100M should still work good for the games.

The 980M is also a map of 100 watts, while the K2100M is a map of 55 watts. There is no way the W541 can handle it, even if you can replace the GPU.

  • GeForce GTX 980 TI

    Aspire Acer Predator 605 G3

    GPU: GeForce GTX 980

CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30 GHz

Memory: 12,00 GB of RAM (11.92 GB usable)

    Current resolution: 1920 x 1080, 30 Hz

    Driver version: 353.30

Operating system: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro

I'm sure it's a 500 + power supply that exists in the required power supply for a Geforce GTX 980 TI would be a more than 600 or 650 +, but after doing some reading, the statement was made when it was said...

then I went out and bought a power supply 650 and the Ti-980. It turns out that this Acer pc uses some stupid 12 pins that doesn't use any other pc.

I assume that the connector is used to SUPPLY rather than the GPU, so be it we have a PSU that fits directly in that I can use a GTX GPU 980?

    Hello Durand1981,

So here, the background comes down to this: use Gateway (now owned by Acer) connectors owners 12v for their motherboards. This connector is unique to their products and creating a very difficult environment for those who choose to upgrade their PSUS.

However, despite the difficulty of work around the exclusive wiring, there is a solution to this. It comes in the form of a DYI rewiring to set an adapter to make a 24 pins ON the connector that is compatible with the 12v rail. You can follow the instructions here if you want to explore this option.

I personally recommend getting a new motherboard to complete your new GPU to make sure that no problem of compatibility - Although this might cancel your license OEM Windows OS. It is the easiest, although the most expensive solution, but it also provides an extra layer, ensuring that your system is ready for future upgrades and downtime than this mobo owner + PSU combo almost forbidden.

  • XPS 8300 and GTX 980 Ti

    Hello

I have an a XPS 8300, I was wondering if it will work with a GTX 980 Ti assuming that:

    • Power supply is upgraded (already have)
    • fits in the case (go to check)
    • Updated BIOS (I'm sure that I have of the A06 Bios will check)
    • have minimum 8G of ram (I do).
    • Still using Win 7.

from what I've read, 980 seems to work if you have the above. What about a Ti 980?

is there anything else I should be worried?

    Thank you

On this page there was a guy by the name of "SlimJ87D" who put a 980ti in a 8700 successfully. I think it's basically the same deal.

Unfortunately, due to the connectors being the end of the map that they were under the metal aside for him then, he said, it was not enough space to put in the pin connectors, while his shear part of the metal that you see in the picture he posted on this page that I linked.

You may need to do the same thing that ti 980 you get. He used the MSI file that is listed as 5.51 inches in height.

A smaller in size might very well fit. Here "agentblue" said the ti-980 EVGA adapt without the need to change the case. The ti PNY 980 is similar in size to the EVGA so it would probably be good too. Most of the others seem to be larger.

  • Alienware 18/w 2 x GTX 980 M 8 GB problems SLI - 8 beeps and no video now detected

    Hey everybody,

    I picked up a 'is' 18 with 2 x GTX 980 m 8 GB cards discreet alienware.

When you first start up, I got the dreaded "8 beeps" and a black screen.

I did a lot of online guides, and all said that one or two video cards must be bad.

So, I opened it and removed the two cards and then tried to turn on without all video cards, which works 100% great.

I think I tried put 1 card in slot 1, and turns, but in BIOS, Manager devices, GPUz etc, the video card is not detected.

I tried the same thing with Slot 2 only and the same problem.

I also tried to reinstall just the two and I still had 8 beeps.

These video cards are worth about $500 + each, so I'd like to find a way to at least get a job if possible.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you!

Both cards video with SLI cable, everything works correctly! Wow!

For all those who come to this page, here is my best explanation of what was the fix:

Remove the battery, remove the video cards, maybe reinstall OS, replace the battery so that the video cards are out, update BIOS to later restore the default BIOS settings, reinstall the video card (1 at a time).
