Access remote vpn connects to the 5505 but cannot ping servers

I have a cisco 5505 and trying to set it up with 6.4 AMPS.

My vpn client connects ok to the network but I'm unable to reach one of the servers.

I'm sure it's a simple configuration issue, as I don't have much experience with Cisco Configuration.

Any suggestions on where to find would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Graham

    Hello

You have set up the WLan router with the right data from your ISP (internet service provider)?

Further, I would recommend to disable all security on the router option and try to access the internet.
I mean, you must disable the encryption (WEP, WPA), Mac filtering address, etc.
In addition, check if, in settings TCP/IP, the option as "obtain an IP address automatically' has been set.

Have you tried the WiFi connection using the customer like Intel ProSet utility or Atheros configuration tool?
These tools can be used instead of own WLan connection option of Windows.

  • Connects to the router, but cannot send or receive data

I have a WRT54G.  I can find the network and connect to the router, but I can't send or receive data.  I tried to connect directly to the router and I still not able to send or receive data. Both computers on the router has the same problem.  I did a reset the router back to the settings by default and still no luck.  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance for the help.

The first thing you can try is when you the Modem and the router is connected to the other, disconnect the power from the router and Modem, wait 30 seconds and then plug in the power to the Modem and once all the lights are solid, then connect the power supply to the Linksys router, now check if you are able to go online. If still no then...

Who is your ISP. So I think you need to re - configure all settings of your router again.

  • AnyConnect VPN connects to the work but not the House

    Hello

I tried searching for this problem, but I have not found something that I think applies to this situation.

A University that I work uses a vpn ssl with Anyconnect and while in my office at another University, I can easily connect (even through a firewall). However, at home I can not connect.  If I connect to the webvpn then the connection hangs at the part where the installation program is to analyze the computer and nothing happens.  If I open the program Anyconnect sslvpn address in the login field and I get a time-out error.

I tried to disable the windows firewall and my antivirus, but this is not enough, and not that he should, since both are active while at my desk. I also tried connecting via ethernet and wireless at home.

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Thank you very much for your help!

We started to see a similar problem a few weeks ago and concluded that when not at the office, users must uncheck the proxy configuration in Internet Explorer before AnyConnect works.  Once they VPN, they must of course activate the setting back on proxy.

So far we can say, IE started to cache the proxy.pac and use it when the user is not connected to the corporate network.  We are still investigating but would be interested in hearing if this affects others now, and if this is a recent problem for them.

When I look in the detail section of the troubleshooting it is said that there may be a problem, but there is no additional information available. The thing really strange is that my wife and I have exactly the same computers and the OS and his computer has no problem to stay connected. I found a update for my card driver and it made no difference. I am at a loss now other solutions. • When it is connected to the LAN, FF cannot find servers; no problem with the wi - fi

26.0 Firefox running on a Windows 8.1 System. The thing I meet is this: I have no problem loading of pages and surfing when I am connected to my wi - fi network (I have a double function modem that wireless and LAN at the same time). However, whenever I plug the LAN cable, I get the error message that Firefox can't find the server. In this case if I disconnect the wireless at the same time. BUT, if I continually press the button [start] or simply tap the icon reload the page in the address bar, will eventually load, usually after a few failed attempts. However, the page loads usually only partially in a first time, apparently without advanced HTML formatting. But, after clicking on reload again one or two times, the page loads normally. Unknown, is that the behavior is not consistent - some pages of charge very well. But I can't for the life of understand me a boss.

I've tried troubleshooting by disabling NoScript, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It's almost as if the wait time for a response from the server is so minimal when connected to LAN that the server has no chance of loading the first time. Does that make any sense? If so, how can I go about fixing the issue?

Thanks for any help you can offer on this (for me, anyway) head-scratcher.

Maybe another DNS server is used or there is still cached data.

Have you tried a hard facing to bypass the cache to refresh all files?

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

You can also try to switch to work offline/off voltage after changing the network connection.

If is also possible that your firewall treats the Wi - fi connection other than the connection to the local network.

  • a public access remote vpn from an inside interface asa 5505

I'm trying to see if it is possible to accomplish what I am trying. I have an ASA 5505 with the following configuration.

    1. There is an external connection, connected to the ISP. Let's say that it is 10.1.1.1/24 for ease. There is a remote VPN configuration as the access of people through this interface.

    2. There's the inside network, which is the normal LAN. It's cable system in the office. to say that it is 172.20.0.1/24.

    3. There is a wireless network on a VLAN separate called WLAN. It has an IP of 192.168.1.1/24. There is an ACL allowing traffic to that VLAN to the public internet.

Essentially, I would like users to be able to use the same VPN settings they use when connecting from outside of the Office when you are connected to WIFI.

Also, I would like that they can access public IP addresses that I have NAT would be to internal servers. In this way, they can use IP addresses when they use on the public internet.

    Is this possible?

    Hello

Well that's not going to be possible, the only thing you can really do is to activate the crypto map on the WLAN facing interface, by design, you cannot not access VPN, ping or manage the device on an interface which is not directly connected to you.

    I hope this helps.

Do you receive kb from the internet source or is it local only, and when trying to access the page host does upward with the site not found or 404 error, have you tried to repair the connection, it could be your antivirus protection is blocking the signal.

  • Try to connect to the wireless computer after freshly installed Windows says I am connected to the router, but I have no internet access

    Original title: connection problem

Hello! I recently did a clean installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and I use a wireless USB adapter. Windows says I am connected to the router, but I have no internet access, and I have this yellow on trinagle. Work of all my other Windows 7 PCs, but this one. Could someone help me? Thank you!

    Hello

Welcome to the community forums of Microsoft and thanks for posting the question. I've surely you will help find a solution on the issue. I see that you are unable to connect to the wireless network after you perform a new installation.

I suggest you to consult the steps described in the article:

    Method 1:

You can try the steps in the link and check.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

You can update the driver of windows 7 on the manufacturer's Web site.

    Method 2:

You can remove and re-create the wireless network connection, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, type ncpa.cpl , and then press on Enter.
    b. right click on your wireless network connection and then click Properties.
    c. click the wireless networks tab.
    d. under preferred networks, click your Wireless
network and then click on remove. e. click on view Wireless networks.
    f. under management of the network, click refresh the network list.
    g. under Choose a wireless network, click the wireless network to which you want to connect, and then click Connect.

    Method 3:

If the steps above don't you can uninstall and reinstall the NIC drivers and check with the question.

    a. click on Start menu, in the Search tab type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.

    b. right click on network adapters and click Uninstall and restart the computer.

    c. after rebooting, install network cards and check with the question.

    Method 4:

You can temporarily disable the antivirus and firewall on the computer and see if it helps:
    Enable or disable Windows Firewall
NOTE: Turn off Windows Firewall might make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.
You can see the following link to disable the Antivirus installed on your computer software.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks

Please follow these recommended steps and post if you still experience the problem. I'd be happy to help you further.
  • Win7 64 bit, connects to the router, but no error internet access-"page not found".

Original title: Win7 64 bit, connects to the router but no internet access.

Help! Windows 7, XP Home Edition Premium, 64 bit, connects to the router and I can access the network. However, I can't access the internet. PC was working fine until a few days when I was using IE Explorer and I suddenly got the error "page not found". This pc internet connection uses the onboard network controller. I rebooted the pc and used the option "safe mode with network. The pc worked fine and I had access to the internet. I restarted the pc and still no access. I tried a usb wireless adapter. No luck. I have not installed updates or software recently. My other 2 PC works fine. I tried to use the network troubleshooter and he could not find any problems.

    Hello

    1. Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    2. What antivirus application do you use?

I suggest you try these methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

Keep the computer in a clean boot and check the status of the issue. If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem. Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service. After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Please go up to step 7 of the Kb to maintain the computer to a normal startup after you fix the problem

    Method 2:

I would suggest trying the following steps and check the status of the question.

    a. open Internet explorer.

    b. click on tools, then on Internet options.

    c. click on the Connections tab.

    d. click on LAN settings.

    e. uncheck the option use a proxy server for your LAN .

    f. save the changes by clicking on apply and ok.

    Method 3:

Configure Internet Explorer to disable simplified HTTP error messages and check the status of the issue.

    a. on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

    b. on the Advanced tab, in the browsing section, disable friendly HTTP error messages display check box and then click OK.

    c. close Internet Explorer.

    d. restart Internet explorer and check the status of the issue.
