    Hello

Have you tried to close all programs and then insert the disc in the drive?

You have disk problem as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (burn CD & DVD and CD and DVD read).
Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD have a tolerance + - and you have to write on the side outside their tolerance. They can be given
However, it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    Try this troubleshooting:

Step 1: Please make all underneath the same if you've done it before as it's often the total of the process which
    solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Having too many CD/DVD programs can cause strange problems, especially if they're loading of parts of
themselves at the start because they will be competing for resources. This does not mean that this issue has been
caused by those, however, it's a possibility depending on which and how many you have installed.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)

    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    Hello

    Thank you for your response.

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the driver of DVD in Device Manager.

    (a) click Startand then click Control Panel.

    (b) click system and Maintenanceand then click System.

    (c) in the hardware tab, click Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    (d) in Device Manager, expand CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, right click on the device CD and DVD and then click on Uninstall.

    (e) when you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click OK.

    (f) restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the drivers will be installed automatically.

You can also search for a driver updated the manufacturer and install the latest version.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • DVD burner does not recognize blank DVDs, but will recognize blank CD?

I read through several similar messages, but none seem to have a solution to my problem.  I'm NOT very technically savvy, so this is as much I know:

    I have a Dimension E310

It was supposed to come with a cd burner and a dvd burner combo.

The reader says DVD R/RW RW DVD rewritable Compact Disk its Ultra Speed

I was able to successfully burn CDs from itunes, but have not been able to burn any kind of video file.  In fact, when I insert a blank dvd in the drive, the computer does not recognize that everything is there.

As I said, I'm not the person most computer savvy in the world.  I know how to work with my applications, but I know little about the way in which a computer is set up, so I apologize in advance if my question is ignorant, but I appreciate any help you can give.  Thank you in advance.

  • My dvd player won't play CD but will play dvd .i have run recovery system, no change discs

When the cd is inserted pc tries to read for about 30 seconds then silence.right click on results of dvd player in windows explorer freezing.as soon the disc is ejected Explorer is ok.apart of the records of restorations that I tried to uninstall the drive and reinstalling, diagnostic tools can not read drive when the cd is inserted , but is very good with dvd.software updated controls say that my dvd drive is up to date. DVD player is a HL-DT-ST-DVD RAM GH40L.

I am considering buying a new dvd player to see if that solves it, but all hoping a met and solved this problem before

The player uses different devices for the CD DVD vs.  It could be the laser and/or material for the part CD failed.  DVD players are cheap now, so a replacement won't cost you too much.  I see that the specifications indicate that the current drive has lightscribe, then choose a replacement that has this feature if necessary.

  • zd7000a (Win XP MCE) DVD drive will write on CD, not DVD

My scanner suddenly stopped writing to DVD. Using Nero, it fails with a generic error message. Using the native ability of Win XP passes the title of car of "DVD / CD + RW" in the window of the Explorer for just 'CD player' if I insert a blank DVD and refuses to let me drop files into the window.  I can write to CD fine both using Nero and Win XP.  I can play DVDs, as well.

I tried to delete the drive in hardware and re-Startup Manager to force reinstallation of the driver; no help.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

Sometimes drivers that Windows installs are not as effective - especially if you have recently upgraded to Windows 10.
