Acrobat Pro of XI "is not responding.

I've recently updated to Windows 8 Professional and Acrobat worked like a charm for 3 days with an instant response.

Now, gradually I am back to this old problem I had Windows 7 and with Acrobat X and 9 - whenever I open a new PDF it takes an extraordinary amount of time to open up and I usually get the message "do not answer" with an opaque window.

We had this problem on 2 PC.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all the tips.

The issue seems to have been the number of fonts that I had in the folder fonts.

I installed a font manager and moved a large number of fonts in a managed folder and it seems to have solved the problem.

It makes sense when I think about it.

Once again, thank you all for your advice.

Acrobat has become unusable on my Windows computer. The program opens, but everytime I open a PDF file, the program hangs and gives an error "not responding". I then exit the program. It started just past a couple of days. Before that, everything was fine. I was not able to get the work done for the last two days.

Please, does anyone have a suggested solution?

I don't tell me if you install the latest update, then try again with the new user account and see if you have the same problem or not only by opening the pdf documents.

  • Change language in Acrobat Pro XI - it does not work

I installed Acrobat XI Pro using Adobe Application Manager (AAM) on Windows 7, English. I'm on a creative cloud subscription, so I have no .exe file to install from.

Acrobat Pro XI defaults to the language of the application in English during the installation of MAO since Windows is an English version. I want Acrobat Pro XI in the Swedish language.

If I go to Acrobat preferences > language and change the language of the application of English "choose at the start of the application" I never get the dialogue box which should provide me with the possibility to change the language when I re - launch Acrobat Pro XI. If I hold down the CTRL SHIFT when launching Acrobat Pro XI I do not get this dialog box either.

I see the same question on three computers, two with Win 7 and the other with 8 Win. Both versions of the OS are English.

So, how can I change the language of the application of English to Swedish?

In case someone else in the same issue, here is the solution:

    1. Add Remove programs-> select Acrobat

    2. then click on the button next to the option to uninstall this Exchange. Dialog updated Acrobat will be launched.

3 Select change in the Acrobat installation dialog box

    4. in the drop-down list select View Adobe PDF

    5. Select the language of your choice support

    6. install the language packs required

When I did, I got the dialog box which allow me to change the language, the next time I started Acrobat XI.

Special thanks to Rohit from Adobe!

  • Form created in Acrobat Pro XI live does not not in Acrobat Reader for iPad

I created a form using Acrobat Pro XI, security is as shown.

Recorded as the other - Reader Extended PDF - activate more Tools(filling in form fields etc...)

But when I open it on the iPad, the form fields do not work.

This form will be used until the end of time or the shape changes... whichever comes first.

The form must be protected from users to make changes.

They are only allowed to complete and sign.

And Yes, I've studied this extensively, but no real answer except to not remove the password.

Yes it works, but the shape is is more secure against users make changes to the form.

  • Acrobat Pro XI Installation does not work - Adobe CC

The school that I administer recently bought more licensing Adobe CC, which includes Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.

I used the creative cloud Packager to create installers for Acrobat XI on its own and as part of the full suite of applications.

Everything installs fine except for Acrobat XI, there is no error during installation, however, the program is not visible in the Start Menu or Program Files, and if I look in programs and features, it is there, but with a generic white icon.

I have redownloaded the software several times and tried to install it on multiple computers running Windows 7 32-bit Ent, including imaging re one PC with a new installation of Windows to see if it works.

Just a parenthesis, please back up your installation files and other CD or disk backup for the future. Looks like a txt file, discuss the installation process would be too good.

  • Purchsed XI of Acrobat pro upgrade and can not activate

Recently I bought Acrobat Pro XI for work and I read that the requirement was to have Acrobat Standard XI. I looked at my current Adobe PDF software and he said it was the XI. Not until I tried to activate the Pro version I noticed I had Adobe Reader XI not Acrobat.

How can I activate my purchase $200? And if not, can I get a refund?

    Thank you

    JL

You have an Acrobat file in your folder program files? You can also go to the control panel > programs &... to check for installed Acrobat. I don't know what requirement you are talking about - company or other? Generally, I would still spend the extra for the Pro and not STDS. For a few people Std will be sufficient, but most people seem to finally find something that needs Pro and they are unable to do.

So, how do you have Acrobat - download or CD? She obtained from a dealer of play or on the website of Adobe? If it's a download, be sure to back up to another medium, generally CD or possibly a backup hard drive for future use. Was this the full version or version upgrade (probably the last for $200)? If an upgrade, you must have installed the earlier version or have available serial number during installation (so don't get rid of the previous CD and SN version is where you need it in the future).

I guess you made the installation process. You must be logged in as an administrator and have disabled when installing anti-virus. During the upgrade you will be asked if you want to leave the previous version, remove it or enter the SN for the previous version (AA9 or more currently). Then, you will get to a point to enter the SN for the current product, I think. When you start Acrobat for the first time, you should get an activation request (and need to be connected to the Internet). This process is expected to complete the process. Strict activation looks a bit fuzzy for me since I usually run versions of business that do not use the activation process, but Adobe charges a fee for each copy installed of the institution.

  • Acrobat Pro XI suddenly does not work

I have updated acrobat XI pro installed on Macbook Air with El Capitan all set to date. When I try to 'create a PDF file of the file', then try to open any file I want to convert (Word doc, for example), first comes a blank word doc then it gives an error message "Acrobat cannot open 'Example.docx' because it is not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an attachment to e-mail and has not been correctly decoded).  To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then choose Save in Adobe PDF format from the drop-down list on PDF in the print dialog box. "I've uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat and no dice. This has never happened before and I got Acrobat for almost a year and it has worked flawlessly on this machine. And it comes with several types of documents and document files have gone very well because I checked and created dummy files to demonstrate the issue. Also, when I try to save a PDF file in a smaller file, I get an error message saying that I don't have permissions people or disk space. It is also a new show. No new installs either. Can anyone help please?

  • Acrobat Pro 7 / words are not separated

    Hi guys,.

One of my friends has Acrobat 7 Pro on a Windows Vista operating system. She need to select text in a pdf file and paste it on a Word document. The strange occurs when you paste all the words are not separated by any space they are glued together. Is it possible to fix this? I tried paste special and it's the same thing.

You can view the PDF file I'm talking to

    http://www.IRB.com/mm/document/training/0/beginners20guide20es_7393.PDF

This is a guide Debutantes trainning of Rugby by the IRB. I don't know if the PDF file has a special configuration that will not let you copy and paste text on a regular basis.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you and Bravo,
    Sebastian

Michael basically means that Adobe does not support AA7 for VISTA. It may or may not work. If you ask them a question, they will tell you to upgrade and probably hang up. Several people succeeded with AA7 works on VISTA and periodically they come back with something they found what has not worked. A similar result occurred for AA4 on XP, I recall the older forums. People had finally update.

To the extent the AA7, I'll to my laptop shortly and try to check the same thing I did with AA8 on VISTA and post the result. This way you can see the result for yourself. If it works on my AA7 and not yours, it will probably be the thing in VISTA, but not sure.

    -----------

I just verify AA7 on XP and it copied from the file to the WORD fine. All fonts are embedded, so this isn't a problem. I had to use local fonts on, but try with use of local fonts off as well, with the same results. The results are lower than the same section I copied the last time (just to the right of the photo on page 2):

Siglos, el ha Rugby back after
    evolucionado hasta become in
One of the deportees mas populares
    del mundo, con million people
    playing, monitor, y disfrutando
    del Juego.

This shows the spaces, so the only conclusion I can reach is that it is a matter of VISTA. I don't have any other ideas. Bill

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless: OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless does not respond after a certain time

I use my wireless OfficeJet Pro 8000 for quite awhile now, but I have a problem that I can't solve:

Initially, it works allright. But after a few hours, it seems to go to sleep. And it does not print jobs more. I have to put the printer 'off' and 'on '.  After that, it will print the work queue.

I searched a timer as issues in the web interface of the printer, but can't find anything that points to a solution.

The printer is connected wireless to my router, using a 'fixed' IP address

    Can someone help me, please?

    Thankx

These settings are to set up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, wireless devices stay better connected and makes your router secure and hack proof.

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers must always be assigned an IP (fixed) manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here (Windows solution 4, static IP).
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto off" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check the properties of your printers.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. If necessary and you have assigned a static IP address, try using auxiliary for the preferred DNS Server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS server.
    5. Wireless printers work only on the 2.4 Ghz band.
    6. Make sure the printer is on the latest firmware by checking with the HP support site.
    7. Check all devices wireless in your home for interference. Check microwave, babyphones, phones, wireless and wireless alarm systems are a big culprit. Any of these will knock at your printer wireless intermittently.
    8. Make sure that your printer and router are at least 6 feet, independently of the other.

In the router: (refer to the manual of your router for more information)

    1. Use a fixed wireless channel as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    2. Set the router to 20 Mhz only or 145Mbps router function.
    3. Always use WPA2-AES encryption (personal), but you can try the "mixed" mode
    4. Disable the WPS and never use it and disable the UPnP for the security of routers. No one can hijack your system now and help with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, research on the web).
    5. If you have a router dual band (2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bands), make sure the SSID is NOT identical, they must be different for all the bands, even for networks without comments.
    6. SSID broadcast should be enabled.
    7. Save all the settings. Food at the same time, wait 2 minutes.  Power on router wait 2 minutes.
    8. Marketing the printer and check that it reconnects to the router.

Windows 7/8/8.1 is discovered the system on or off?

    1. Control Panel/Network and Internet/network and sharing Center / advanced sharing settings.
    2. Under home or work (current profile) / network discovery.
    3. Select "Turn on network discovery" and save the changes.

Last resort effort - if your printer has an Ethernet connection, suggest you to get some adapters line and convert your Ethernet wiring for your printer.

  • Surface Pro 3 touchscreen does not respond correctly

Original title: touchscreen turns out be a pain

Hello and sorry for such a pessimistic title for my post, but it's the truth.

I feel like I have to clean all my touch screens at least a dozen times every day and who still does not seem to keep them working properly. I use Windows Pro 8.1 on my 3 Surface Pro and my office and touch screens on both systems, of course. My question is simple enough, it seems that I have to click on 'touch' on any of a zillion times for the computer to realize that I'm actually doing something. Is this normal after the first week or I have to update the drivers or something?

Also, is it just me or do DirectX present a major problem with touch screens? I play LOTRO and I double-click-right on everything in order for people to talk to me or to make a transaction in store interfaces. This is not normal, and if that's the case, why can't not Microsoft fix this? I can't be the only person who has noticed or written on touch and directx...

Anyway, if anyone knows of solutions other than return to the mouse, please let me know. :)

    Hi Heiko,

Thanks for the update. This could be caused by a compatibility problem between Internet Explorer and the site that you are. Sometimes, this can be fixed by adding the site to your list of compatibility view.

Difficulty of the problems to view site with compatibility view

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Internet-Explorer/use-compatibility-view#IE=ie-11

If the problem persists, then as you say the problem seems to be specific to the application it would be best to contact their support site.

I hope this helps. If you need help with Windows, let us know and will be happy to help you.
