  I lost my Z10 due to water damage and got a Samsung s5. Setting up my BBM is a nightmare, as the issue of recovery does not work. I got the answer to the security question in almost every possible way, and yet it keeps saying that the answer is incorrect. I know 100% that the answer is correct.   @jpmeek would not change your password without your consent the so the only thing I can think of you may have used a different password, or made a mistake when you initially set up your answer to recover.   I don't know how you open links received via the password reset email, but in the case where you use copy/paste please make sure that you do not select the period (.) at the link. In the case where you do this you will indeed receive the error mentioned in the message from this same thread so when you paste the address of the download page will contain two fields (new and confirm) to set the password.

  Otherwise, drive HARD recovery does not work because the boot manager has been changed or damaged as a result of the new install of Win 7 and this is why you cannot load HARD drive recovery.
  That is why it s always recommended to create a recovery disc before changing anything on the HARD drive.

  You can respond with more details on what you mean by "does not"-for example, no option to create a password, no option to lock a note, cannot open a note protected without password, etc..

  You must boot from the disc.

  If you're talking about XP Mode the default password is XPMUser.  In general you can not use Windows without a password in Windows Virtual PC that you can with Virtual PC 2007 and before.  XPMUser is used only with the XP Mode virtual machine.  All other virtual machines requires a user created password.  If you have changed the password in XP Mode and forgotten, then you have to start over.

  Windows Virtual PC is based on virtual server rather than VPC and all virtual machines need a password.  If necessary, uninstall the integration features, start the virtual machine and create a password for the admin user.  Restart the virtual machine, and then reinstall the integration features.  You will not be able to access a virtual machine created by the user that has no password, while the integration features are installed.  Once you have everything right, that a virtual machine will not be asked a password if you are the admin user in Windows 7.

Maybe there is some key information that remains after the uninstall process, and these are retrieved later during the new installation. During my process any key information have been recovered so far here.

  Are you sure, be connected as "LENOVO - BC8C81F0\Administrator. The name of the computer looks as if it was a random name. If your computer now has a different name. Maybe you have to change the name of the computer.

  I also feel that CSS is not very accurate in finding the right user and user profile folder.

  Sorry, if uninstalling and cleaning of different locations does not help you. If the problem is related to different account of your administrator account ID, I can't help you. It is a problem well beyond my capabilities of Windows.
