ACS - monitor Services

Hello

Currently using Windows ACS 4.0 and 1113 Ver4.2 with SNMP patch to allow ping.

We want control services using Solarwinds APM, you fix the template above, you can see details of SNMP from the ect server and Services.  But it seems to require a user name and password to monitor services, which is not a Windows user name and password.  I tried to add Administrators user name and the password of the ACS, but does not control the services.

Is there a certain procedure to monitor the Services of the CSA with a 3rd party like Solarwinds product?

Concerning

Craig

The ACS SE 1113 is a server, locked in order to describe how the services are done with a third-party utility, it would very probably install some type of agent to look/monitor/or even send traps SNMP for the ACS Services (that are installed on the operating system).

ACS already does in itself, if you go to the System Configuration > ACS Service Management > you could configure ACS to contact you in the event of a service failure. You may also send the report of these alerts to a Syslog server: System Configuration > Logging > change the case report.

Just realized that there is also an SNMP Agent (System Configuration-> Configuration of the device--> SNMP Agent), this could provide some additional information:

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_server_for_windows/4.2/user/guide/SCBasic.html#wp288047

Keep in mind:

Documentation of the ACS CSCsj18497 device doesn't not list SNMP MIB support

http://Tools.Cisco.com/support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCsj27225

Hope this helps,

  • Error on new install http status 500, said "the monitoring service is not available..."

    I don't really understand this problem. I am relatively new on tomcat and coldfusion, but I followed the basic instructions.

    Deployment under Tomcat 7.0.68 and Java 1.8.0.77. It's on CentOS 6,7

    ColdFusion Setup log, no errors, said 8890 successes. Tomcat on localhost: 8080 seems good. Using the JEE WAR file deployment, 30 days trial, production server. I modified the Web.XML of Tomcat to enable a deployment of 500 MB, the Coldfusion WAR file being almost 300 MB. I spent my file Catalina.out here, because it seems most relevant. And I really appreciate any help someone can offer.

  • VMware vCenter Storage Monitoring Service fails

    Hi all!

    I have a problem with 2 Server vCenter (in bound mode). Do not start monitoring services of storage with the licensing of services...

    How can I start this service?

  • Using the windows agent for the staging of some support teams and monitoring Service

    Hello

    We Foglight and use agent windows for tracking service and for the moment all our alerts lead to direct e-mails to our redress system, which in turn, their analysis and create tickets.  what I need to be able to do is direct services (when down) different teams - is it possible with Foglight?  IE we have implemented an agent of windows on a server and run the rule of services monitored on this server - then it must be said if the service is low it goes to the windows supports guys and if the function b is low t goes to the application support team.

    all advice appreciated!

    See you soon

    Davie

    Sure, ok, so it's not hard anymore:

    Fatal level:

    • Set a variable of severity level, called host name, of expression of type, defined as restore the extent?. host?. name
    • define another variable level, called serviceName, gravity type expression, defined as restore the extent?. name
    • define an other severity level variable, called Prospect of expression of type, defined as:

    serviceName = scope.get ('name')

    Format = null

    switch (service_name) {

    case "Alert": Prospect = 'Documentum Team. "

    Break;

    case "SQL Browser": Prospect = 'DBA Team. "

    Break;

    case "RasAuto": Prospect = 'external team '.

    Break;

    default: Prospect = 'MS Server Team.

    }

    return of prospect

    • Finally, define another variable of severity level, called matiere2, of type message, defined as @hostName : Fatal: Service @serviceName is down (@teamName)
  • vCenter Storage Monitoring Service Service initialization failed after the upgrade from 5.1 to 5.5

    I recently upgraded from vCenter 5.1 to 5.5. After the upgrade, I started getting health warnings for the VMware vCenter monitoring of Storage Service that say "failed to initialize the Service." I restarted the vCenter server and restart services several times and who has not deleted the question. When I look in the SMS. LOG file there is no activity in it since I did the upgrade (a week or more there). All prior activity in the SMS. JOURNAL seems to be well upward until the upgrade took place though. I found at least half a dozen KB articles that describe the various reasons why this error may occur, but they all relate to older versions of vCenter. Just to be complete, although I saw the symptoms in the articles and none of them really seem to be the same as what I see. My hypothesis is that perhaps the SMS did not get properly re-installed upgrading because I don't see any SMS subdirectory in the directory \Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\tomcat\webapps but I do not know if this directory must exist on a 5.5 installation.

    If you would be grateful if anyone has any advice for troubleshooting for this type of error.

    Thank you

    Mike

    Change the credentials of the service account for VMware vSphere Profile-Driven Storage Service to those used to start the VMware vCenter Server service and the service of VMware VirtualCenter Management Webservices. By default, the account used Local System.

    Restart the service, the change was made, and then check.

  • VMware vSphere profile focused on service of storage AND VMware vCenter Storage Monitoring Service alerts

    Hi all

    I installed VC 5.5.0b in-bound on a Windows Server 2008 mode. The Installation goes very well and everything looks good, but when I check the service of vCenter status it shows that both services have an alert

    The Services are

    vc service error.PNG

    I checked the log file vws.log and found the below error message

    [ ERROR com.vmware.vim.health.impl.ComponentSpec] Impossible to recover health for com.vmware.vim.sms of http://localhost/sms/health.xml

    ERROR com.vmware.vim.health.impl.ComponentSpec] failed to retrieve com.vmware.vim.sms from any of its URL of health health

    java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://localhost/SPS/health.XML

    at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown_Source)

    I tried steps below

    My virtual database uses a custom instead of 1433 port.

    Please suggest what I can try next

    Thanks in advance

    This service is supposed to be there, anyway you can try to repair the installation. This article talks about re - install VMware vSphere profile Driven Storage service: upgrading to vCenter Server 5.0 Update 1, 5.1, or 5.5 fails and the Setup Wizard is interrupted (2017147)

  • Monitoring service

    I wonder how Hyperic does service checks, for example, SMTP or IMAP.
    Many products simply open a TCP port to the respective server, if the port opens, it assumes that the service is running.
    However, in some cases, the service runs and accepts an initial connection, but no data will pass.

    For example, Telnet to port 25 open a connection, but you don't receive any welcome message, cannot perform an EHLO or receive a string 220 when disconnecting.

    Hyperic knows to make these controls extend for SMTP, IMAP, etc...?

    Hello

    If you are interested in more details, have a look at the source code of the netservices plugins:

  • Service monitoring on virtual machines in windows

    Hi people,

    We recently bought VFoglight and also NMS.how (with what I bought) if I monitor the status of windows services? -i.e. can I follow specific (or all automatic) services and warning of the they change order?  Is this doen via the infra cartridge as it would be easier than having to alos use a NMS agent on each server.

    All advice appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Davie,

    If you see this - http://edocs.quest.com/foglight/563/doc/Cartridge/InfrastructureCartridge/UsingTheCartridge.02.4.php

    You can see the agent properties different (accessible from the Administration-> the State of the Agent). Click on your WindowsAgent agents in the list and change the properties.

    The drop-down menu to "Collect measures of Service" has a few options for all, no or specified.

    The rule of "HostServiceRestart", generates an email if a monitored service is stopped and an agent is configured to restart. It is disabled by default.

    The rule "HostServices" generates an alarm and sends an email if a host service changes its status. If it changes to run anything else, it generates a warning alert.

    Hope that helps,

    -Darren

  • Foglight 5.6.4 services monitoring

    Hi all

    We are sure that agents of the infrastructure can also monitor Windows services.

    But we can create rules for the monitoring of these properties Service.

    Monitoring service FTP
    Monitoring service Cron
    Monitoring service DB
    Monitoring service Web server
    Monitoring service Send a Mail

    We want to know if we can check the status of the above services. Please guide us how to create rules for the latter.

    Thanks & best regards,

    Guenoun

    Hi Brian,.

    Sorry for the late reply. We actually got the created rule by selecting the type of toplology "Host Process" for linux and Aix hosts.  in this, we have chosen State 1 or 0. will check how it works and get back to you in the event of doubts.

    Kind regards

    Guenoun

  • own, hardware installation, service on this monitoring host is unresponsive

    Hallo,

    I have 3 servers running esxi5.1.0 image of the form version 1157734 update 799733 managed by vsphere

    On one of my DGL380 G6 servers have the error: hardware monitoring service on the host is not responding

    is what I did to try to resolve the issue:

    • restart the /etc/init.d/sfcbd-Watchdog
    • Return to material on vCenter Server Status tab and click the update link. It may take up to 5 minutes to refresh
    • Stop the service and resart it
    • Reset sensors
    • update of the data
    • enabled the setting of firewall they are all the same

    the question is always the same

    Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

    After I reinstalled the host State of the material was good (used a new generation iso. # 1065491)

    After that, I set up my host then I patched the host to # 1157734

    then I check if the condition of the equipment was OK, but I noticed that all the sensors, where the normal but the HP ProLiant DL380 G6 was unknown after one minute is Normal.

    so not a real problem then to install the module of Multipathing dell after the sensors when there is still good. before adding the host in the cluster, I rebooted the server again

    still no problem

    before adding the host in the cluster, I removed the old host and then added the new host to the cluster.

    now the material status tab is always OK

    the problem seems to be resolved for now.

  • Follow-up diagnosis of Windows service

    Just had offered update KB3022345 to install the Windows Diagnostic Monitoring Service for Win 7 Pro, which is a standard part of winning 10.

    Here's what MS wrote:

    DiagTrack - follow-up of diagnostic Service

    When acquire you, install and use the program, Microsoft collects information about you, your devices, applications and networks and use of these devices, applications, and networks. Examples of data that we collect your name, e-mail address, preferences and interests; history of navigation, search and file; phone call and SMS; configuration of the device and the data of the sensor. and the use of the applications. For example, when you:

    • install the program, we may collect information about your device and applications and use for purposes such as determination or the improved compatibility,
    • use voice input as speech-to-text features, we can collect information from the voice and use it for purposes including improving the treatment of the word.

    Looks like any other keylogger...

    I rejected this update on my Win 7 PC but found - unexpected - it installed on my laptop Win 8.1.1. So quickly withdrawn from there.

    The problem will be with Win 10 because we will be able to accept an update or not. They will ALL be fed by force and that if we are vigilant and MacoStupid is honest about what each update done, we will never know what they are stealing from us.

    And even if we don't know not what makes an update, unless MS provides a way to uninstall it,'re stuck us.  MS can stimulate - unintentionally - a new breed of pirates that survey every single update in every detail and develop tools to uninstall the most reprehensible.

  • White "fringe" through monitor U2715H

    Order number: number retired by the privacy policy of order >
    Agenda: Dell Ultrasharp Monitor U2715H
    Serial number: maintain the label removed by privacy policy > (not found online, cannot add to my products)
    Express Service code: abducted by the Express service code privacy policy > (not found online, cannot add to my products)
    Delivery date: may 25, 2015

    Problem:
    White stripes "fringes" are visible near the center of the screen on both sides (see photo). They are very important when displaying any sort of background white (publishers of text etc.) and the lighter shades of gray. And no, I don't mean grayscale of the bands which is a different problem. This Panel has uniform, white free artifact for the most part (90% of locations), and only three places across the screen are suffering of this artifact.

    Things I assured, tried and failed:

    -Setting brightness / contrast, even without decommissioning of the native resolution
    -Connect on two different laptops instead of my regular work office
    -Change the graphics card on my desktop
    -To ensure a quality, a power supply stabilized (with a voltage regulator) upon first use
    -Ensure that there is no magnetic nearby device, or anything that can cause disturbances

    None of the above helped.

    What worked:

    Very sweet-A (single finger, ultra light pressure) on the areas get rid strips / bangs completely! But surely, this isn't a solution, by any means.

    It is a family UltraSharp premium Panel, and quite frankly, I'm shocked. My previous purchases (2408WFP) never had this problem with some 8 years of intensive use.

    Here are the codes from the back of the monitor (and it is not found by the search for products and I couldn't add it to my account).

    Please advise on how to proceed.

    (The artifact is very difficult to capture on camera for reasons I can't explain, but it is clearly visible to the eye and can be seen without effort). A full resolution image is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6zPNR9DHCOoOFRLRlpTOVV0c3c/view

    Your IP address indicates you are in India. Yes, but is there a problem with that? As in, is there a community site in the field of the Dell India where I'm supposed to post because my IP is of the India? (where I live)
    * This is the Forum USA. Even if validated, we could not in place here monitor Exchange.

    Serial number and express code do not appear in the databases of the region Dell. What is more a concern for me than anyone at Dell. Today when I talked to Dell India support in this respect, that's what they said (I recorded the call and have proof), and I was stunned:
    "Sorry, only the desktop and portable computers can be added to your list of products as part of your Dell account - monitors can be added using their tags service or express code number - they will be not even be found by the system using their service tags or express codes."
    So in a sense it is true: I tried to add the monitor by codes, the system found nothing. Even when you tried. I'm not quite sure if that support Dell India says is true and these codes are practically useless - but nevertheless, it is painful for me. There may be some twisted fraud involved on the part of Dell, which I'm not aware of?
    * Unknown. When buying directly from Dell, monitor service number and the order number of monitor are related to your Dell customer number. That's why I posted this in the FAQ monitor;
    "Why you should buy a monitor directly from Dell.

    According the pictures, I see no justification to Exchange (even if we could see the numbers).
    Well, I can understand that the pictures illustrate the question too well, but it is very visible to the eye. I don't have the skills needed to operate a DSLR under the right settings for this capture in a better way. Yet the image in full size (from Google Drive) shows the strapping that is strong enough. Did you look at that?
    * I did.

    Anyway, I contacted the technical support of Dell India and they will inspect the Panel in person some time. Premium screens are supposed to be flawless and still more so out-of-the-box. Hoping that something works. I'm not necessarily inclined towards an Exchange as long as the problem could be solved.
    * Dell does not 'fix' monitors, only exchange them. So I don't know what they think.

  • replaced the monitor number invalid svc code

    Hello, I recently gave in my Dell UltraSharp U2913WM to repair his apparently broken screen matrix and I learned by the official authorized repair center that dell would repair her, instead, they embarquerions me a new. I got the monitor in a fortnight, but I was afraid that she had no packaging, it was dusty and had used air. I checked the service tag and expess svc code, none of them where valid.

    If it was a scam? Replaced monitors are shipped without any brand and accessories package, or with a tags valid and codes the svc?

    No, not a scam. They are correct, Dell does not repair the monitors.

    Policy of Dell on monitor to nine = trade
    * If the monitor Exchange is Setup inside the first 30 days of the date of the original invoice, the replacement will be New
    * If the monitor Exchange is Setup outside the first 30 days of the date of the original invoice, the replacement will be refurbished
    * Handed to nine monitors may have aesthetic problems which do not performance
    * Handed to nine monitors do not come with all the cables are not in the original box
    * Handed to nine monitors service tag may come from a different region, that's why you don't see it on your Dell regions website. The original purchased warranty period is related to your order number and customer of Dell
