Activation of the integration in Windows Virtual PC features

I installed Windows Virtual PC and installed XP on it.  I also installed the integration features, but whenever I'm going to allow it, he asks for a login and the password, which apparently is not the same login and password that I used when I installed XP.  Anyone know how I can turn this on, or at least find the right login and password?

I finally got it work.  The problem was that I had set up XP in VPC to log on without password.  Apparently the integration features requires a password, and even leaving the empty password would not work.  So, once I added a password to log on my XP, features integrations worked well.

This trap for the unwary should be explained in the help VPC files.

  • Blue screen at the start of WinSrv2008r2 recovered from the backup of windows virtual machine image

    Hello

    At first, everything seems fine:

-to create the new virtual machine

-startup disc for instalation of Windows Server 2008 on this VM

-Select "Repair system" and point the backup image file (full backup - made with standard Windows backup tool)

    -system recovered successfully.

But then, when the system restart recovered fresh - start start Windows normally - and suddenly it is blue screen with the error 0x0000007b

IMHO, this first initiated boot of the recovered system trying to twist something in the special part of the disc and he cannot (because it's a virtual disk?)

Is it possible to recover the system windows image file system server to virtual classic?

Thanks in advance for all voice :-)

    Greetings,

    RA

    Welcome to the community,

the error message is related to the controller to start the virtual machine, which is different from the original system, and its drivers are not loaded in Windows. What you try, it is to use the free VMware Converter and run the option "Set up the Machine", which should inject the necessary drivers in the virtual machine. Before doing this, please make sure that the Windows 2008 virtual machine has the default "LSI Logic SAS' controller configured in its settings.

  • Windows Virtual PC integrated with components lock me out of my WinXP - error of OEM comments - "the system could not log. Make sure that your user name and domain are correct... »

With my new desktop Windows 7 hardware configuration, I decided (before you consider VMware Player) to retry Windows Virtual PC; but instead of using Windows XP Mode (which is useless because the disk is inaccessible), I decided to use my own Windows XP Pro OEM. [I use it for games that won't play on Win7.  Security issues are also irrelevant, because for these games, I'm not likely to use the Web.  Of course, I always Windows Security Essentials in my OEM customers.]

The problem here is, whenever I have to Activate my integration, features VPC opens as if the Windows XP Mode have been installed (it is not); and when the screen is turned on, it asks my user name and password.  I tried to use the name and the password that I entered when installing my XP OEM; but I get this message:

"The system could not log.  Make sure that your user name and domain are correct.  Type your password again.  Letters in passwords must be entered using the proper case. »

How is it that I can't access my Windows XP OEM guest when the integration features are enabled?  Only when they are disabled can I activate my OS; invited but it's counterproductive, because I won't be able to move items from my host in my comments.  Once more, if I should decide to use VPC as my host VM for Linux Ubuntu/Kubuntu, what chance is there that the activation of the integration features will lock out me my Linux guest?

Another thing: in the Start Menu under Windows Virtual PC folder I have shortcuts for ' Windows Virtual PC ' or 'Virtual Machines' (according to the Win7 version I use, 32-bit or 64-bit); but I also have "Windows XP Mode", I have not installed.  How is that possible?  I checked the shortcut, and point it to rundll32.exe.  Should I just get rid of the shortcut, or I will incur damage to my VPC if I do?

  • Cannot start Windows Virtual PC host process. Check the log of the events system for more details

    Hello

Ideally, this error message indicates that your processor does not support the against hepatitis a (hardware support for virtualization)function.

    Cause:

Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode are supported only on computers whose CPUs are the HAV feature is enabled. Therefore, if your processor does not support the functionality of HAV or if this feature is disabled, you cannot start the virtual machines in Windows Virtual PC.

To resolve this problem, follow the steps mentioned in the link below

  • No shortcut/folder "Windows Virtual PC" appears in the start menu after installation.

I am re - a question that has been previously published by "turkeh" which the answer has not solved the problem. New: after successful Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 Ultimate RC installation the specified shortcut, "windows virtual PC", does not appear under "all programs" as the moderators mentioned; It simply isn't there. Uninstall and reinstall XP mode does not help.

Help with this is appreciated. Thank you.

It seems that the information may be incorrect.  You must install both, because the Menus are created by the installation of Virtual PC.  Windows XP mode installs just needed to run files, which are then used by Virtual PC.

    See you soon,.

  • I can't install Windows Virtual PC on my computer Windows 7 Home Premium

I have problems to install the update to Windows Virtual PC on my Windows 7 computer.

I checked and have met the criteria for Virtual PC (I do not wish to install XP Mode), but the update will not let me install Virtual PC.

You're right and I'm wrong, as this clearly indicates that the stand-alone version of Virtual PC (without XP Mode) must run on the 'Home' editions

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/929135

Have you tried to clean your Temp folder, you can do this by typing folder in the Start Menu RUN box.  This will open your Temp folder, there, you can remove all Windows will allow you to do.

It may be necessary to show both hidden and system files and also uncheck 'Hide known file types' in Control Panel / folder Options / view to navigate to the mentioned location of Temp.

This example may or may not work for you with your program, use the built-in Administrator account to perform the installation?

"It seems that the"Run as Administrator"command gives you administrative privileges only, and they are not enough to install Java (and OpenOffice, by association). To work around this problem, you must actually connect to the built-in administrator. Open a command prompt with admin rights by clicking Start, type cmd in the search/run box, hit CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER. At the prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes

Then disconnect from your regular account and folder administrator integrated, where you might be able to install the program. When you are finished, open a session to your regular account and, for security reasons, disable the built-in using administrator account:

    «net user administrator / active: No.»
