  • Upgrade hard drive Dell Latitude D800

    Hello

I have a latitude D800 with a Hitachi Travelstar 80 GB 2.5 "IDE model: HTS548080M9AT00 who now suffers from the disease by clicking on infamous which apparently these HD are famous for. So im needing a new HD, I took the old hard drive that was easy enough, but what worries me really, it's what is compatible with my d800. So I'm looking for an answer well informed on this hard drive I can stick it in my D800 as I don't want to buy a HD and it works not because the motherboard doesn't. I know that the best thing to do would be to buy the same HD, but I'd like one with more capacity.

  • External hard drive is not recognized after Windows Update

Original title: XP Pro wants to install driver for external hard drive that is Plug-and-Play

I think that using Windows Update can cause problems (unintentinally or not) for users of Windows XP.

In a series of accidents with an old computer and reinstall the XP Pro operating system, I discovered that MS Money installing only if it was made before the Windows updates.  (planned obsolescense?) The issue has to do with the removal of the registry AUTORUN file. INF for some new and improved files through Windows Update.  Before the updates, the file exists, and I could install MS money.  After updates, AUTORUN. Missing INF file of the registry.

Now, I encountered a new problem, and I think that it is also a result of Windows Update.  My external hard drive to IDE, that worked perfectly before on this computer (newer), is no longer recognized and want to reinstall the driver.

The problem is that it is a Plug-and-Play device, and no driver was needed before updates.  I read somewhere in my many attempts to find a solution that the MS Plug and Play system was replaced by a universal version of this feature (UPNP?)

It's on a more recent, computer replacement, which came not with a copy of the Windows XP Pro operating system, and I can't just reformat the hard drive and start all over again.

Someone else has encountered this, and if so, have you found a solution?

    Double Post suite-

Where is my external hard drive?

I'm under XP Pro on a Dell Optiplex PC with all the current Windows updates (SP3. Net4, etc..) and last month, I added a USB IDE hard drive. the hard disk enclosure is MASSCOOL, and I used a 250 GB Seagate Barracuda7800. The car worked perfectly until this week. I had the Windows Update critical update automaticlly value and security updates.

The hard drive has disappeared from "my computer." I tried to plug and unplug in different USB ports, restarted the computer, but continues to receive the "new hardware detected by saying me that new hardware has been detected and that I need to install the necessary driver.

The problem is that Seagate does not provide any driver for this drive, because it is supposed to be (and was so far) recognized by the Plug-and-Play of Windows XP software. The hard drive enclosure came with a mini CD, but this contains software to use the unit as a back-up, not for storage.

I can't understand that this change suddenly to believe that something in the Windows updates that have been installed recently changed the command structure, registry files or the drivers themselves.

I know this is possible, because I've seen what's happened to any program that relied on self. INF file that was originally part of XP. This resulted in programs like Microsoft Money and older versions of MS Office, not being able to be installed by those of us who are not 'technically lit.

I'm here in left field, or other people have had similar problems? And is anyone know how to solve this dilemma?

  • Aspire 6930 recovery

I had to change the hard drive on my Aspire 6930 running Vista. I installed a WD 320 GB drive in place of the original 250 GB drive.

Using 3 recovery disks that I made when the computer is new, everything seemed to install ok. However, when the computer tried to start, I got the following message: "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer." I have also an extra drive received a "settlement to Acer Recovery. Not sure if this should be used or how.

Hi Vince - Thanks for your reply.

My original disc that failed was a Western Digital 250 GB SATA drive.

I replaced it with a WD 320 GB drive, the hot spare seemed to charge up well, but Windows wouldn't start.

Finally, I tried a 250 GB Seagate drive - it worked like a charm.

Apparently the recovery disks you do not update your hardware.

He had to see the hard drive of the same size.

  • HP dv6 7040tx: compatibility mSATA for my laptop

    Hello

is it my computer laptop support mSATA SSD? I intend to add an SSD for my laptop. I have 2 options:

    1. Add an mSATA ssd

    2. replace the current HDD with SSD normal and add the disk using Caddy.

I don't know if my phone is compatible mSATA SSD. Can I add it to my laptop?

The features of my computer: HP dv6 7040tx

In the user's guide, it was provided that it supports 16 GB mSATA. I don't know if I can add 250 GB mSATA.

    Thank you

It supports an mSATA WSSD but not quite in the way you think. Your laptop uses the first generation of hardware using the mSATA. The mSATA was used only as a "cache" which accelerates a regular mechanical hard drive, using the Intel Rapid Storage technology. These are usually not larger than 32 gigs and when activated, create links with the mechanical drive in a RAID array type. The cache contains startup and commonly accessed files program files and speed up the process a bit. It's just not as good as a pure SSD for sustained Read and write operations. If a normal hard drive 2.5 inch is present in the main Bay SATA the WSSD cannot be the boot drive.

The configuration of your best and fastest is to place a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in the main Bay, and then if you need storage use a shopping cart of DVD player. I don't really like these arrangements and given the price that SSDS descended a little a 1 to is actually a viable option and should be all the storage that anyone really needs. What with the cloud and all. And the mSATA drives are not faster than a 2.5 inch SATA SSD.

  • BIOS locked drive

My Lenovo 3000 N100 went completely dead from one day to the next. I'm trying to reuse the 250 GB Seagate hard drive that was on the N100, but it has locked bios. I installed the drive in my housing Ultrabay T61 and, as expected, got a locked disc 2 to start. The password on the disk is 6 letters and *. I can enter the six letters, but when I enter * I get two beeps. It seems that the bios didn't

recognize the 88 SHIFT which is *. I tried other numbers uppercase, but only get beeps.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

    Olesalt

The N100 and T61 have different BIOS, it is unlikely that what you try will work, but like anything else, it's certainly worth a try.  If you can get your hands on an another N100 your chances are almost a cert.

Have you tried not to type the *?  The PW contains any character special as § or %?  Done turn on / turn off the password function in the BIOS T61 help?  Don't forget to remove the other passwords before playing with it, we do not want a case that you can not change the return parameter

  • BSOD "a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor" Please HELP?

I read through most of other issues related to this incident and nothing helped so far! I've recently upgraded with an AMD FX-6300 3.5 unlocked processor and a Sapphire Radeon R7 to 240 2 GB graphics card. Since I put the processor, it crashed my Windows with the eponymous blue screen. I'm relatively new to the construction of high performance computers, so I'm not really sure where to start looking for the question. Another forum noted that turn off cores 5 and 6 resolved the issue of crashing, so I did. I'm running on 4 to 6 carrots. I did not purchase a proecessor of 6 cores to run 4 cores! :(

Now that I've read some of the other questions here, and that's what I tried:

-Starts in Memtest86 + and run a complete test on my RAM. No errors

--Also ran chkdsk on my main drive. No errors

    Here are my specs:

    CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5 GHz

    Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M LX

    Cooling: Stock for now

RAM: 12 GB Corsair Vengeance 1600

    GPU: Sapphire Radeon R7 240 2 GB

    PSU: 430W 80Bronze

    Storage: 500 GB Seagate 7200 RPM + 250 GB Seagate 7200 rpm + 1 TB Toshiba External

For anyone having this problem, the solution to my problem was in the BIOS. The C6 State option should be disabled. Now, it worked for me, it may not work for others. I believe that my question not related power, I use a 430W with a processor hungry power 6-core, with an AMD R7 240 2 GB and 5 fans. The State of the C6 is a power saving option that goes down the CPU when idle, and I guess that it mess with volts which, in turn, causes problems when it is not enough to be able to draw on when necessary.

Good luck to anyone with the same problems, if the advice above is not enough, then I hope that this final message is.

Also, thank you to the mods which responded and tried to help. Your advice me on the forum who helped me to find a solution.

  • Where can I get a second hard drive in a p6-2133w. I don't see a place for this.

I want to set up a second HD SATA in my p6-2133w HP, but it doesn't seem to be a place to put it. No holes align.

Do I need extra hardware of a certain type? Maybe some sort of addition of cage? The HD, I want to add is a seagate 300 GB

    Barracuda.

    Hello

You may need to set up something for yourself. Based on this, all the berries are busy:

    • Height: 36.8 cm (14.4 in)
  • Blue crash screen on Resume from S3, 0x7A (kernel data Inpage Error), probably faulty HARD drive

I have a laptop HP dv7 (AMD 780 G chipset), who has a problem with the release of the standby mode.  The system hangs on a blue screen 100% of the time when the recovery from the sleep mode.  I suspect that the problem is related to hard disks turn does not quickly enough during an attempt to wake from its slumber, but I can't be sure.

My system is running a Seagate Momentus XT 500 GB hybrid drive that the system, which makes me part of the problem.  It doesn't have the latest firmware loaded on the disk (SD28).  The system also carries a secondary drive of 250 GB seagate, but I tried to boot the system without this drive installed to see if the problem persists, try what he does.  I've done the minidump file available here:

    http://thecomputercaretaker.com/resrc/072213-42588-01.dmp

    Hello

The attached file of the DMP is the error checking KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7A) .

The data page of the kernel of the required paging file could not be read into memory.

It may indicate that the hard disk has bad sectors, problems of material (disk, controller, memory), an infection by the virus or a bug in a device driver.

High CMD should now be open, type the following:

  • AnyConnect SSL Premium license not stackable

Hi, first of all, thank you for reading my entry.

Recently I have activation of license SSL problem.

Customer purchase L-ASA-SSL-50 = and L-ASA-SSL-250 = for their ASA5540 in support of 300 peers.

I realize the two key PAK set separated by commas, but I get an activation code for 50 peers.

Answer license 250 TAC cannot be shown due to the system detect there are already 50 licenses.

That means 250 = and = 50 cannot be stacked together to reach 300.

I searched to find Cisco doc about this problem, but no luck.

Has anyone read this Cisco documentation somewhere?

Now, Cisco can add the 250 = license and remove 50 =.

But I do not know if this add 250 = can replace 50 = installed to ASA.

Someone at - it similar cases?

My source is a guarantee of training partner.

There is a small reference to this behavior in the following location:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/iOS-sslvpn/67909-SSL-...

I have not performed the upgrade right that you are talking about but, so general, licensed ASA is passed and implemented via an activation key that is generated by the internal system from Cisco and, when it is installed, it will result in the unit reflecting the level of license bought - assuming that it was purchased correctly of course.

Your dealer should be able to advise you on the right track.

When I tried to install windows 7 64 bit, everything was fine unitil randomly, it stopped and gave error 0xc0000225. I really need help I spent a lot of money on this system and it does not work please help!

Try to reduce the amount of RAM installed on a unique key or 2 GB and try to install the new.

    Also:

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

  • IDE / RAID or AHCI

    I have a m8080a (RQ450AAR #ARG).

I've now updated the 250 GB Seagate drive to a 1 to Seagate Barracuda 7200.12. I now have a GeForce9500GT and 4 GB of RAM. I always use a slit Personal Media Drive 300 GB and WD Essential 1 TB external backup.

I now also have a license OEM Windows 7 and installed. Installation was a problem as the DVD drive was not recognized / picked up (?) I changed the drive in AHCI settings in the BIOS.

Now, I have a system up and running, I am reloading with everything else.

    However,.

What should work drive thid? IDE RAID or AHCI?

I have no idea this topic (it is feasible to change between them via the BIOS and the default is RAID) even if the PC seems to work on any of them.

HD bays discussions always seem to go up above the head of the average user so help on a game / BIOS settings which would work better would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Unless you want to set up a Raid array, AHCI is the correct setting for your hard drive.

  • ESXi and data on a single mailbox store

I'm eager to get ESXi running on my server at home for use in a test lab environment. Here are the specifications of the box:

    Card mother BIOSTAR TFORCE TF520-A2

    AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6400 +.

    Crucial Ballistix 4 GB

    Rosewill RC-218 SATA controller

4x2TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 Hard Drives (connected on the RC-218) software RAID5

250 GB Seagate Barracuda boot disk

Currently, the box is running Windows Server 2003. The RAID5 array has about 3 TB of data on it. If I understand correctly, ESXi cannot mount or use an NTFS volume (and mine is) as a data store for virtual machines unless it is via NFS. If it's wrong, please correct me. What are my options here? I like to keep all my stuff on a single box to reduce energy consumption. Is there a way I can somehow continue to use the RAID5 array in its current state and also be able to use it as a data store for the guest virtual machines in ESXi?

I have a few other boxes that I could use, but I'm trying to consolidate (isn't that the point of virtualization?) all in one physical box. An idea I had was the RAID5 array out of my server box and put in my game and then machine to mount as an NFS volume for use as the data store.

In addition, 250GB would probably suffice as a data store for my purposes. Is it possible that I could install a virtual machine running Windows Server 2003 and pass the RC-218 and RAID5 array directly? Or just make mountable in the virtual machine?

If you need more information please ask.

    Thank you

    Tony

What you could do is to install VMware Workstation on the box (although I haven't checked that it is running on Win2003 as well as desktop operating systems - read the card to http://pubs.vmware.com/ws8/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#href=welcome/welcome.html).  You can then use your local data store.

Your biggest problem is memory - with only 4 GB, you will probably be sharing MUCH in your family environment when you take into account your device vCenter or comments and 1 or 2 other guests.
