Adding 1142 points of access to existing wireless network

Is there that problems with the addition of 1142 points of access to areas that have existing 1242 and 1232 access points?  I have heard and read that the 1142 provide improved thanks to the function «clientlink» performance  The clients that we have are for the most part G, B and, N not much yet.  We have a few localized areas where users report a problem of intermittent coverage and is considering to replace an access point or two in the areas with the 1142.  For all new areas I intend to deploy the 1142 only.

Thank you

Al

No problem at all with the mix don't except that 802. 11 b / g and a customers will decrease the performance of the network. The 1142 s will have their talk with 54 Mbps and 11n clients are also suffering from their presence.

But nothing too disturbing.

My laptop (Toshiba Satellite L350-203 with Vista SP1 HPE) has lost the ability to connect to the internet using my home network. I have McAfee Internet Security and charge of IE8, but both were present before the problem appeared. My home network is now displayed as 'unidentified public network' and the laptop has "local access only". He seems unable to keep the WEP key for the network as it asks everytime I try to connect. I confirmed that the WEP key is correct. There are 3 other computers in the House that connect without a problem, so I guess that the router is not the source of the anomaly. I tried accessing another network to another place (with any necessary safety information) but get the same result, so that other computers can connect successfully. I am able to access the internet via an account mobile broadband (using a "dongle"), but I added this account after the problem appeared, so once I don't suspect it as being the culprit. Diagnosis in the "network and sharing Center" routines are unable to solve the problem, so any help is most welcome.

    Hello Roy Mac,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

You receive an error or the error codes when you try to connect?  You're obviously network savy upward so if something seems repetitive please ignore, you tried to delete the location and replace?   Is there any software for the high account mobile broadband that could changed settings?  Are you able to connect to the router with an ethernet cable access to the internet without problem?

  • After that Windows 7 conclusion "No Internet access" in the wireless network?

I have a USB wireless network card installed in my office. All judging by the "connected network" showed, that he manages to connect to my wireless router, with I can't visit all websites due to "free Internet access". Only if I move my router where (almost) no wall blocking the path between my office and the router, will be solved the problem.

There is no problems surfing the Internet using my laptop (Windows XP) and the iPad, which also connect to the router.

I don't know what "No Internet access" while "Connected network" appears. To understand this, perhaps I should know what Windows 7 draws the conclusion "No Internet access" to the wireless network.

Thank you, everyone. I managed to figure out the problem last night. With this document that I found by Googling, http://www.usb.org/developers/whitepapers/327216.pdf, I tried to disconnect my DVD ROM USB plugged next to my wireless network card and found that this really WORKED, although the DVD ROM is USB 2.0 instead of 3.0.

In addition, as Shawn "Cmdr" Keene [MVP] said, I really need to I ignore the message "connected network". I ran the Ipconfig/all command frequently and found that sometimes the IP address of my wireless network card was no longer * 192.168.0 and the gateway, and the IP addresses of the DNS servers are null, even if the message "Connected network" remained all the time.

Hope this helps others who also have this problem, even though my English is not very good. : )

  • Access to the wireless network

All of a sudden I can't access my wireless network that I use for this computer for 2 years.  My modem works as I have tested.  But it does not find my wireless network.

    Hello

Power Off (Unplug) your Modem (cable, DSL or other type ISP service you are using) and the router and waiting
3 minutes and power and then turn it back on. Then, restart the computer.

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon. Use a wire or download the drivers on
another computer then transfer them using removable media.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for card (NIC) network and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

After the transfer of music through my mobile to my mobile Bluetooth maps network seems to be disconnected. Dial-up connections (AC) or Windows can find any wireless network. Also if I try to configure any LAN, WLAN with Windows I get the message that all network cards have been removed. However I can't find any problem in Device Manager as all parts are shown to work OK.

That's what I've done so far:

    (4) installed new version wireless driver for Intel (r) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (version 12.0.0.82)

Yet, even if I uninstall AC to check that if the WIFI doesn't work at all, Windows gives the message that all network components have been removed.

  • Problems when using an extension to an existing wireless network wireless

I recently acquired a Netgear WN2000RPT which is an extension of a network from a router wireless wireless (also serve as DHCP server and Internet gateway). The extender implements a network connection to the router and admits PC connected to the network extenders in a manner transparent acess Internet (through the router). All works well with Vista but not XP wih. My computer XP SP3 laptop works perfectly when connected directly to the router (and I used it in WiFi systems). When connected wired to the Extender, all right. BUT when connected wireless to the dilution, it does not work. Connection established (documented in the PC, as well as in the extension). But during an attempt to access the Internet the Extender loses (documented) IP address of the PC (on the PC is shown no sign of lost contact). NETGEAR is a wellkown provider, but their support is grateful no problems with XP. They claim that the error is in my PC but all the parameters have been proven in the chats and emails, to be correct. Although no no not a network specialist I know that Vista has been a big step forward in stability network adding even layers in the protocols. This could be a possible cause of the problem and, if so, is there an upgrade to XP (or a KB article) that could eliminate this difference?

Good news and thanks for the comments.

As far as IPv6 is concerned, a quick way to say should run ipconfig in command prompt window.  If IPv6 is installed, you will see it immediately.

  • T8200: Where physical access to the wireless network adapter

    Hello

I bought a Tecra 8200. The internal WLAN card does not work. When I activate it with the button on the front of the laptop, nothing happens.
The card is not recognized by WinXP-> means that it does not appear in Device Manager. It seems that the card is not "under tension".
However, can someone explain to me how to open Notepad to check if the wiring is correct? I removed all the screws at the bottom of the case, but the keyboard is always aligned with the rest of the laptop, so I can't open it completely.

  • Install - not connect to existing wireless

    Hi all

I have a couple of Airport Express' that I used to just listen to music to use Airplay.    These are the older devices and I hadn't used for a while (been sitting in a drawer for a few years), but decided to allow them to use again.

I did a reset on each apparatus and connected to my Mac.  Using Airport utility, I connected to the device, but I don't see the option to add to my existing wireless network.  I see that they have updated this app since I modified it used.

There is an option to "extend" my network, but I don't think that that's what I want, as I'm not a network Airport Express... I want to just listen to music to it.

Advice on where this option to add an existing wireless network went?

If your network is provided by another router from Apple, you'll see an option to "extend a network."  Apple assumes that it is what you want to do.

Go ahead and implement the Express to 'extend '.  Then, if you don't want to do that, you can go back using AirPort Utility and change the settings for the network of 'Extend' Mode to 'register '.  Under 'Join', the AirPort Express will provide additional wireless network coverage.

If your network is not granted by another router from Apple, go ahead and start the Installer "Wizard", and then click More Options to see the option 'Add '.

The 'Expand' and 'Add' assume that the AirPort Express will use a wireless connection to join the network.

  • Problems of networking - cannot access other computers via network

Help, please!  About six months ago, I had Internet from Time Warner.  They provided a wireless router.  I set up the network with my desktop and laptop.  Both computers have XP and two of them access to the wireless network.  Everything worked well.  I was able to print with the laptop through the desktop computer.  I could also access files shared from one to the other.  One day it just stopped working.  I'm guessing after a windows update.  In any case I spent a LOT of time to sift through here looking for answers.  One thing I discovered is there is a lot of those who are experiencing the same thing, but nobody seems to have an answer to the problem.  I found an article that told me to increase the IRP stack size.  I tried and it worked for a few days and then it is right to give me this message, "you might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission.  I'm about to lose my mind.  I don't understand how he could have worked for two months and then stops.  The only firewall I run on each one is Windows.  Help, please!

    Jack,

After typing this long email discuss my problem and I did some internet research and found this post that said they have solved the problem.  He said ' I solved the problem by adding the "Protocol of Transport compatible NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS" to my list of properties of network on every computer on my network.»  I tried it and it worked.  Only problem I've noticed so far is that it takes time to move a folder to.  To back up a folder, he thinks for a minute before moving.  Any thoughts?

  • Pavilion p6020a wireless network card

I was bequeathed a Pavilion p6020a under Vista Home Premium.  The family of the deceased could not find any documentation, or an installation CD.

The label on the side includes an indicator and the statement 'surfing the web with built in wireless b/g networks.  I have to attach any device such as a receiver to allow the PC to access my existing wireless router, or one such device is already built?  The label implies it is already there, but the installation sheet suggests otherwise.

I'm definitely no expert and approaching my 75th year, unlikely to become one.

    You are the very welcome.

You don't need to buy anything, if you already have a wireless router.

If your router is broadcasting its SSID, you would connect the p6020a to your network wirelessly in the exact same way you did for any laptop that you have connected.

There should be a wireless icon on the lower right side of the taskbar, and when you mouse over it should be wireless connections are available.

Click the wireless network icon and select your router from the list, enter the security code and your PC should connect to the internet.
