Additional CPU installation
Hello
We bought a license for VMware Essentials and an extra CPU to add to our server. My question is this: should I install the license key before or after the addition of the CPU?
Thanks for any info,
Stem
I think it either is working fine. I install the CPU, make sure that everything happens correctly and that the CPU is seen and then install the new license.

Add additional CPU licenses to host
I have a host of 4 shooting, a business licence 384G of RAM and more. The server owner added an additional 128G of RAM to the host. My understanding of the new license model, I need to add an extra 2 CPU licenses to the host to take full advantage of the newly added memory. I can't find where and how to do it. Any help on this would be appreciated.
VRAM licenses are not tied to the physical memory in the ESXi host, but the virtual memory assigned and used by the virtual machines - this document will nadine you information on how to vRAM and how to check it- http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2000935
Depending on your environment - if you vCenetr you would add it to your vCenter Server - uf you run a stand-alone ESXi host you use the vSphere client and go to licensing features in the configuration tab

Jul - 09 CPU installation - error could not copy file "libjox10.so" to
Hi all, I received this error while I was installing the last CPU on a 10.2.0.4 Instance Oracle running on a system of HP - UX Itanium:
Patch 8568398 :
Copy action: Desctination File "/ u02/app/oracle/product/10.2/Db_1/lib/libjox10.so" is not writable.

I checked metalink' site not found similar results.
Could someone help me?
Should I run/usr/sbin/slibclean and remove the last patch (Patch 8568398) and try again?
It's the full changelog...

I have a HP Z600 workstation with 1 x E5570 cpu.
Can I install a 2nd type processor x 5570 on the motherboard?
What is the difference between E5570 and X 5570, and if so, which is best?
Thank you
Caspian Sea
The Z600 features of two processor on the motherboard ready to go, as with the xw6400 and the xw6600. So, it is much easier and cheaper to add a second processor for the Z600 for a Z620 which requires a 'minimotherboard' separated to add to the top of the main motherboard before you can add a second processor.
Here is information on the naming conventions names to the processors, to the low position for E vs X:
/T5/workstations-z-series-XW-series/Z600-CPU-upgrade/m-p/6649124/highlight/true#M18367
I saw the HP list some X processors as an E processor when Intel and the rest of the world as a x lists... follow the convention of Intel and the surefire way to know exactly what processor you have is to take off the heat, remove the Processor heatsink, clean it and check its code sSpec laser engraved on the top of the processor stainless steel cover. You must at least be comfortable with this process before thinking to add a second processor. Dough thermal costs for both is useful if you have two processors.
Note the orientation of the processor before carefully remove you it... There is a corner triangular gold on it which is oriented to a corner of the plastic of the decision threshold, and you can see that, after that you turn to the top of the stainless steel on its hinge fixing. After you have added the thermal paste very carefully put the processor down on delicate pins with it's interface. I hold the processors North-South, not East-West... with North being the hinge of the hold down. In lots of light here and note that tasks molded into the plastic of the socket to align with the edge of processor corresponding to tasks... together down gently, then check alignment, then close the hold down.
X 5570 has a single code sSpec, SLBF3, and that should be easy to find. It's a max 95W TDP processor and you can buy new Intel for about $1400.00 USD today. Or, for about $35,00 or even a little less off eBay. I only buy used Xeons and had a bad on about 50, and the seller has sent a replacement free of charge.
You want to match a heatsink / fan new / used eBay for what you have, and the part number will be on the radiator you have. I recommend to use Noctua thermal paste, and only a nice little dab is needed to get a good thin layer on top in stainless steel before replacement and reassembly. I extend it with a finger gloved latex in a circualr motion to cover the flat top surface, where was the laser engraving. You want pretty thin... not so thin that they are able to see through, but close to that. You screw the radiator on sequentially across, opposing live a few laps at a time, until they just gently... the bottom but do not turn the handle downwards beyond. It is fine to do walks back and gently bottem them again to get all too tight 4.
Upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS first, and only a reboot may be necessary to work with the new processor. The latest version of the BIOS gives you the last HP "microcode", a hidden part of some updates to the BIOS, and which includes the list of specific processors that HP has certified to work with your particular workstation. For example, you might see a processor that works in your computer in one of the QuickSpecs, but if you do not list your BIOS firmware, it won't work. I do not think that HP ever pulls a processor from the list of firmware when it moves forward with a workstation... compatible motherboards X56xx should be able to run all X55xx older processors.
Partners, it is important to know that there are two main versions of the Z600, with the latest version capable of running with some processors than the earlier version cannot. By combining your second processor to exactly what you already have you don't need to think about this question, but if you want faster dual processor completely new, you will need to do more research in this forum about the revisions, which will be held with the two main motherboard reviews and the fact that you can use "performance" heat sinks if you go with the processors the "." more hot.
The last QuickSpec for the Z600 (v51) covers X56xx and processors E56xx... QuickSpec is for the new revision of the motherboard. You can search in the HP to find their searchable list of all prior QuickSpecs and see which processors have been certified for your motherboard probably original review. Based on this research, you can choose to move to two correspondents faster 95W X55xx Xeons, but only get those who are in the list QuickSpec from HP (and get the latest not if there are several codes sSpec) for everything what install you on.
Searchable QuickSpecs for Z600:
Later and probably the last, is v51. The PDF link get you more later. The HTML link offers you the most recent, but also a drop-down list in the upper right to use to go back in time:
http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetHtml.aspx?DocName=c04110961&search=Z600
From there, you can create a chart on all previous processors available and choose what you want. I recommend doing a chart for only the fastest and the second more fast X55xx processors in each QuickSpec and check eBay for the price. A step down from the fastest often gets you a large drop of cost. If you do this work, please report it here to help others.

I have a 5960 x and I use maybe 30% of a render and only up to 3.3 GHz. cpu load since I m d OC to 4.2 GHz, I know that there must be some extra cpu power to operate.
Also I often renderings of projects 40 + and it would be a huge time saver.
Thank you!
Sorry, I misread that. I'm afraid that it cannot be done now.

Additional CPU added to SLES 10 VM not detected by core
We have just added a 2nd vCPU to two of our guests SLES 10 SP2, and even if the CPU is also present in VC and in graphics performance, the core is not seeing her and always reports as a single CPU.
Any thoughts?

Additional memory installation
Hello
Can I install 2 x 4 GB memory cards in the slots at the bottom of my iMac 2011 environment while keeping the cards of 2 GB in the top slots?
either they are correct pair configurations (side by side)?
There is no mention that slot machines are the pairs. Normally we would identical memory cards in slots 1, 3, and another identical 2.4 slots.
Does anyone have an idea of this to get the best out the higher level maps?
Thanks a bunch
Anthony Hunt

OK I think I can have answered it for me.
According to the about this Mac and report/memory system , it displays 4 benches of 0.1, 0, 1.
So I guess that 2 identical cards placed in Bank 0 , and the other 2 in Bank 1.
If anyone thinks that this is not correct please feel free to let me know :)
See you soon

HP Touchsmart 520-1030 - additional memory installation
I am trying to install extra memory on my HP Touchsmart. I was told when buying this PC I could simply take the back off and put in a stick more than 4 GB of DDR3 RAM that this model has 2 slots, of which only 1 is currently used? I don't see where the memory going!
Can anyone help please?
Thank you

Additional memory installation on a Satellite 3000
I'm unable to install memory on a Satellite 3000 - X 11.
It was suggested that I need to update the bios, so ia´ve donwloaded Bios 1.60.
When I try to reboot it tells me "This is not the right update for my system"
But it's the update is recommended.[Edited by: admin on April 22, 2007 20:41]
Hello
I put t know why you can not upgrade the BIOS BUT usually the BIOS update is not necessary if you want to upgrade the memory on your laptop
I think that if you use the memory modules right everything should work properlyFound a useful page that gives interesting information on upgrading memory on Sat 3000 - x 11
http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=14194&ft=m&St=3So according to this page, you should use modules SODIMM PC133 144 pins and you can upgrade the memory to 512 MB max

Hello
If I install extra RAM into my PC, I have to change the settings in XP or the system will automatically adjust anyway?
See you soon.
The computer will do everything for you. No parameters for you to settle.
Just be certain that the RAM you buy is designed to work with
your computer. The major vendors of RAM (by example, Crucial, Kingston, Corsair)
have RAM selectors on their web sites that make it easy to find the
good memory for your computer.Another response to community focus group Windows XP

I have a CQ60-211DX laptop. It uses a processor Intel Celeron 585 2.16 GHz core simple. It is a processor Socket 9.
I want to know if it is possible at this level to a processor Socket 9 better, such as the Pentium Dual Core or Core 2 Duo. My main concern is what families of processor will support the motherboard.
My research so far indicates that the Celeron has a max of 31W TDP. The Pentium Dual Core T3200 (2.0 GHz) and T3400 (2.16 Ghz) have a max TDP of 35W and the Core 2 Duo has a maximum TDP of 10 w. So, the Pentium Dual Core would generate a little more heat than the Celero, but I think he might be able to handle the additional 4W? The Core 2 Duo, on the other hand, almost cold.
The Celeron and Pentium have 1 MB of L2 cache, but the Core 2 Duo has 2 MB. The Core 2 Duo has a pace much more slow clock (1.5 Ghz), but I understand that it is still faster than the Pentium with the effectiveness of the architecture.
I don't know how the FSB affects things, but the Celeron and Pentium are 667 MHz while the Core 2 Dio is 533 MHz.
There are several other statistics I do not understand. A large part of the information I have just the pages that follow. Also, I have confirmed with a representative of Intel Celeron 585 is, indeed, Socket P.
http://Ark.Intel.com/compare.aspx?IDs=35583, 37160,33920,36681,
http://Ark.Intel.com/search.aspx?q=socket%20P&t=ProductGroup
http://Ark.Intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=28964
http://Ark.Intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=23517
It seems that Intel does not often stated that a processor is Socket P, but Sockets supported including the PPGA478 seems to be what I'm looking for. Not entirely sure, though. There seems to be the T7000 and T8000 T9000 series processors that support PPGA478, also.
http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27255&processor=T7200&spec-codes=SL9SF, SL9SL
http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27256&processor=T7400&spec-codes=SL9SE, SL9SK, SLGFJ, SLGFV
http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27257&processor=T7600&spec-codes=SL9SD, SL9SJ
Although T8000 and T9000 models all have much higher FSB speeds. Yet once again, I don't know enough to understand what effect this has on compatibility, so I guess I should stay with 667 MHz.
Finally, I guess the U7000 series is more advanced than any of the T series, but other TPD and VID lower voltage max quantity, all other specs seem lower (FSB, clock speed, L2 cache memory).
Soldering is not a problem. I don't know if my processor is welded on or not (have not yet cracked open and will not until I know that it is worth), but even if this is the case, I have a soldering iron, solder Wick and the skills to remove the welding without damaging the components.
So what I've been able to reconstruct so far. If someone could let me know which processors can handle the motherboard on my laptop, I would really appreciate it. If someone could suggest what processors would offer the best performance gain, would be great, too.
Thank you!
Luke
Hello
What follows is a listed one CPU upgrade CPU option for your product.
Processor Mobile Intel Core 2 Duo T5850 - 2.16 GHz (Merom-MV, at 667 MHz front side bus, 2 MB cache level 2 total, taken Micro-FC-PGA, 35W TDP, 65nm)
If you plan to upgrade limit you your purchase know CPU compatible and functional. This way you will save yourself the disappointment of an incompatible CPU installation.
As notebook BIOS do not have many options tweakable, which disqualifies basically anything but what the manufacturer offers for upgrades in option.
the CPU I have listed and linked to is probably the best you can do for your laptop.
Kind regards

Installation Documaker 12.4 Enterprise Edition
Installation Guide Doucmaker 12.4 Enterprise Edition says that - minimum hardware you need for a sandbox is - Windows Server 2008 x 64, Intel 2 Core 2.3 GHz x 64, 16 GB of RAM and 150 GB of hard drive. Which means that - DB, WebLogic, SOA and other previously required, all software will be installed on the same server. What is the only requirement for the sample / demo Version of the software available.
This is the requirement for ODEE only. The other required components have their own requirements that must be met. Although it is possible to install all components on a single server, it is not recommended for anything other than the sandbox environments or development. The indicated conditions might work for an all-in-one, but you may need additional CPU or RAM.

CS6 installation does not finish / accidents
Hello everyone,
I have problems to install CS6 (Standard Design) on my ultrabook.
The installation process seems to go on the property, but it stops at a certain point, this time at 54%. I tried several times, each time in a different position. And in addition, the installation process takes literally hours. I started as 6 hours ago.
The installer sucks up to 35% of the CPU power constantly, so something has to happen. I don't see any progress.
I already wiped everything clean with the cleaning of Adobe beforehand tool.
Additional information: I want to install on an SD card that is mounted on the c: drive to make windows believe it is a normal directory. Should not be the problem that it worked in the past in the same way.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you very much!
Philipp

The problems with the Setup logs. CS5, CS5.5
Generally speaking, however, it seems the worst way imaginable to install these software - 12 GB of software installation will take its time and using a device that itself is dependent on a very specific driver and physical parameters certainly does not help...

My cpu is at 29 percent, and I've scanned with malware bytes and essentials of security. any ideas how to solve this will be greatly appreciated. I run windows 7 on a dell Inspiron 537. Thank you.
This CPU system there? It could be due to a low CPU power. My Netbook has to an Atom processor that can run along 10-20% idle apparently. My office with a more powerful processor works at a much lower rate when idle apparently.
If you have scanned with associated MWB and MSE (both set to day of course) its unlikely to be malicious. Then take a look in the Task Manager with the right button of the taskbar and click "Start Task Manager" or press
altogether for the throw. Then, in the Task Manager, click the
tab. Then click "Show processes from all users" and enter your administrator password if prompted. Then click on the CPU column for the use of processes in order to low high CPU from the list. A few albums in the list will show you what is running and using your CPU. If the system is idle, "System Idle Process" should probably be at the top of the list. Running Manager tasks if he has to use additional CPU you should see that in the list of institutions.

Hi all
My apologies if this was asked before. We will install an additional CPU in one of our servers running VMware vSphere Essentials 5, more. The type of server is an HP DL360 G6.
Problem is that we are only licensed for one physical processor. I'm not sure how to obtain additional licenses for additional CPU, and I don't know how to do in this regard. Can install us safely the additional CPU it will affect the virtual machines? Take the license sorted first before even to consider installing the CPU?
If anyone can shed some light, I would appreciate it.
The license stops the use of this additional cpu so I recommend the licensing update. If you talk to your VMware/TAM dealer they can update your not licenses for you, no problem
