Address no. E3000 ISP on WAN

I have an e3000 who can't get an address from the ISP.  I can get an address on the computer and an old router directly connecting the cable to the computer or the router.  I peut also chain the e3000 to the old router, and I can get an address on the e3000 from the old router.  I have hard reset the e3000, modified Linksys and TomatoUSB and then to Linksys, firmware and I still can't get it to work.  It worked fine on Saturday until a bolt of lightning hit close to home.  Since then, I can't the e3000 to connect to the ISP.  Any ideas?

Okay, either get the E3000 fixed/replaced.

Or put a 100 Mbps switch between the E3000 and have it. You can even use your old router to do this: open the web interface of your old router. Disable the DHCP server on the router of old. Then HAVE it wire and the E3000 your old router LAN ports. This way you use only the switch in your old router and the E3000 will get an IP address from your ISP (i.e. the DHCP server on the old router is disabled and won't be any more quickly to provide an IP address...)

Of course, when you or your ISP upgrades to the line to 200 Mbps or faster, you need to replace the E3000. But for now, it may be a good option if you can't do a warranty Exchange.

I have a wrt54g with the 4.30.12 firmware V3.   The problem is that I can't get an IP wan to my ISP.   Can I connect my PC to the modem and it receives an address very well.   I tried to release renew to invite the router to get a new address which did not work.   I missed my router to the factory, which did not work.   This router worked fine until about 4 weeks ago, when this problem started intermittently.   Now, he gets all a WAN address.

Can someone help with this problem?

    Thank you

I found the problem.   I rebooted the router and the modem cable.  Once the modem and the router came up, I plugged the router to the modem.  He then received an IP address via DHCP from the cable provider.

I discovered the cable of the company does not release the IP address that the modem is rebooted.   I had to restart in the sequence of the cable modem first, and then once it came I rebooted the router.  Once the router came I plugged the two and the router has got a new IP address.

I don't know much about the TCP/IP settings.  OS is XP Pro SP3.  I have a DSL router from single port connected to a simple switch 5 ports, then two CAT5 cables will switch on both computers.

    Hello

Two computers cannot connect to the same connection using the same IP address. Each computer on the network must have its own unique IP address.

You need to get a cable/DSL router. Configure the WAN port (Internet) side with your static IP address and connect all the computers the and other equipment network on the side of the router LAN.

Generally, it looks like this, http://www.ezlan.net/network/router.jpg

P.S. You don't need to use the wireless if you do not, it is very difficult to find a new wireless router.

  • Research by ASA & ISP address space

    Hi all

Maybe a stupid question. One of my clients planning on creating RDP access to some servers sitting on 'Inside' of ASA5510. Customer asked pulic ISP 24 address space and had a 1.1.1.0/24 (ips changed). In addition, ISP customer provided with ASA ouside I / f IP: 2.2.2.2/30 and default gateway for ASA (modem Internet service providers) such as 2.2.2.1/30.

So what is the best way to use the ISP assigned public IPs to provide RDP access to servers on the inside... ? Can I assign 1.1.1.1/24 to ASA inside and can create a "No. NAT' to access internet and RDP.

Or I thought initially to have NAT with ip pvt in-house system (wasn't aware of public ip address space required). So is it possible using the same ip address space pvt and assigned/24 ip addresses to create Internet/RDP access?

Help for config links is appreciated.

    Thank you inadvance

"I thought initially to have NAT with ip pvt in-house system (wasn't aware of public ip address space request)." Is it so possible using the same pvt ip address space and assigned/24 ip addresses to create Internet/RDP

    access? "

Upsolutely possible and the best to do as you have thought about it.

If I understand correctly: Please correct me otherwise!

    1. you have ASA5510, outside of the interface with the IP public 2.2.2.2/30

    2 - ISP router with IP 2.2.2.1/30

Gives 3 - Customer ISP 254 public IP addresses using client on another beach 1.1.1.0/24

Well, you can do the following if you do not have inside the configured IP interface.

1 - ASA5510 inside can be any subnet ip to any of the reserved private beaches. For your inside interface you can use one of the below private beaches.

    i 10.0.0.0 through 10.255.255.255

    II - 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255

    III - 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

Assume that you have inside the 172.16.1.1/24 interface

    If you have:

    ASA5510 outside interface IP: 2.2.2.2/30

ASA5510 inside the interface IP: 172.16.1.1/24

for your ISP services new public IP range just create your one-to-one NAT in ASA5510

translations by using the new IP address of the ISP. Note that the ISP should route the new public IP address space to your ASA5510 outside interface, Im sure they know that.

As said, just create your static nat using the new public IP address, you can also create

    If necessary global nat pools.

for example RDP access from outside with the public IP 1.1.1.100 coordinated to 172.16.1.50 PC inside the host

    static (inside, outside) 1.1.1.100 172.16.1.50 netmask 255.255.255.0 0 0

outside_access_in list access permit tcp any host 1.1.1.100 eq 3389

    Access-group outside_access_in in interface outside

for example, creating additional pools of global variables using the new IP PAT range.

    Global 1.1.1.50 - 1.1.1.74 2 (outdoor)

    Global (outside) 2 1.1.1.75

  • L2l VPN between ASA with the IP address public and CISCO2911 behind the ISP router with port forwarding

    Hi all

My apologies if this is a trivial question, but I spent considerable time trying to search and had no luck.

I encountered a problem trying to set up a temporary L2L VPN from a Subscriber with CISCO2911 sitting behind the router of the ISP of an ASA. ISP has informed that I can't ignore their device and complete the circuit Internet on the Cisco for a reason, so I'm stuck with it. The Setup is:

where 10.x.x.x is a corporate LAN Beach private network, y.y.y.y is a public ip address assigned to the external interface of the ASA and the z.z.z.z is the public IP address of the ISP router.

I have forwarded ports 500, 4500 and ESP on the ISP router for 10.1.17.2. The 2911 config attached below, what I can't understand is what peer IP address to configure on the SAA, because if I use z.z.z.z it will be a cause of incompatibility of identity 2911 identifies himself as 10.1.17.2...

    4. connected to 192.168.1.1 via web browser

    6. the MTU value = Auto (1500).  Also tried manual 1492

Could not get the IP address by using the version of IP address and IP address renew.  Address Internet IP still = 0.0.0.0

Note that the web page will be still stuck after perfoming some actions (such as after switching between the tabs).  Message at the bottom of the browser is "Wating for http://192.168.1.1/Status_Router.asp.  And the hourglass on the screen away.

Note that the old Netgear router still works fine and I am currently connected to the internet via the Netgear router.   I'd appreciate any help getting the new Linksys router connection/operation/obtaining of internet and IP address.

    Thanks for your help.

I do not know where I was unclear: you wrote before you used the function of the cloning mac address on the WRT to clone the MAC address of the PC. In this way the WRT "pretended" to be the PC if you connect to the internet port WRT to your modem.

However, the PC is not the device you used before you connect to the internet. The PC was not the device that was connected to the modem before. If you connect the computer directly to your modem it will either be an IP address. There will be no internet.

The problem is that your ISP only allows you to have an active internet connection single at some point. If you plug in a different device with a different MAC address to your modem this device won't get an IP address. That you have connected the Netgear router to your modem and you have internet, then you need to clone the MAC address of the Netgear router. This is the device that is connected to your internet connection and it is the MAC address that your ISP has locked your internet connection.

So, once again: clone the MAC address of the router netgear (internet or WAN port MAC address) of your Linksys router. Then the Linksys's router Netgear and your ISP should accept the Linksys router. The netgear router should have a status page in the web interface, showing you the right MAC address to be cloned.

  • WRT160N: Getting dynamic IP address 169

    Hello!

Linksys WRT160N, bought yesterday and I want it behaves same way did my Buffalo WHR-HP-G54. So I live in apartment building for students, and we don't have modems, just the RJ-45 ports in the wall. If I plug the cable directly from the wall of the network card in my computer, my computer receives the dynamic ip address from the ISP. With my Buffalo, I connected the ethernet to the WAN sa-port cable and changed the router in bridge mode. In this way, there was 4 other ports free for the other PC and of course wireless too much for the other PC. Each PC connected via the Buffalo had a dynamic ip address from ISP, up to five addresses, which is the limit of my ISP. I plugged the ethernet cable from the wall of WRT160N Internet port and disabled NAT, dynamic routing (RIP) and DHCP server on the router Linksys, so all my computers have addresses ip starting with 169. And when I plug the ethernet cable from the wall to a port other than Internet-port of Linksys, all computers get the correct IP addresses via a wireless cable. What is wrong, is at - it a setting I have not seen? Some setting that I can use Internet-port and have other 4 free ports for other devices and other devices can get dynamic IP from my ISP.

Ignore the Scrooge. What he wrote has nothing to do with your problem.

Unlike the Buffalo WHR the Linksys doesn't have a configuration option or switch to alternate between the 'bridge' and the router mode. The Linksys always uses the internet port on a different interface of the numbered ports. You can't fill.

For example, if you want to 'bridge' with the Linksys is the configuration you already have when wiring from the outlet ports numbered, i.e. do not use the internet port. You will have to "give up" the internet port then. If you need more wired ports, you must connect a switch to the router.

    Hello world

We have a block of IP addresses of our ISP and I am using one for a network of comments, but I can not understand how to configure.

X 2 (ending with 150 WAN IP address) should feed WAN X 0 (VLAN 1), and

    X 2 (ending with 151 WAN IP address) should feed WAN X 0: V2 (VLAN 2).

  • Dual active/passive failover of ISP with static Nat on Cisco 1941

    Hello world

I'm working on a configuration of a client and I have everything in place right now except the NAT' static ing.  The config fails during an ISP to another and track als and routes by default static weighted, the PAT rocking with course to each interface maps.  It is, is it possible to switch on the large amount of static NAT entries to the ISP of backup?  So far, everything I've read said no because you can have only one entry per ip/port combo, other than another configuration static NAT double server with a different IP address.  I just want to be sure before making my recommendations, all thoughts are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Brandon

In fact, you can also long as you use standard NAT ("ip nat inside source static") or not NVI ('ip nat static source') for your attackers. You apply the roadmap by the end of the static NAT statement to indicate which interface it should apply to. So, if you have something like this:

     ip access-list extended ACL_NAT permit ip 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0 any ! route-map RM_NAT_ISP1 match ip address ACL_NAT match interface GigabitEthernet0/1 ! route-map RM_NAT_ISP2 match ip address ACL_NAT match interface GigabitEthernet0/2

Using port 80/tcp for example, you can do this:

     ip nat inside source static tcp x.x.x.x 80 y.y.y.y 80 route-map RM_NAT_ISP1 ip nat inside source static tcp x.x.x.x 80 z.z.z.z 80 route-map RM_NAT_ISP2

Just replace x.x.x.x with the LAN address of the machine that you are shipping y.y.y.y with the WAN address you are shipping on isps1 and z.z.z.z with the address of the ISP WAN you are shipping on ISP2. The static NAT will be conditional on the roadmap, at this point.

This works with TCP, UDP, and IP forwarding, but does not require that you use an IPv4 address to your WAN address. For some reason, it does not work if you use an interface... so if you're using dynamic addresses, it will be more complicated.

You can, but you can't use transfer based on the interface of the to do. It should be based on the address itself. It's fine if you have static addresses or reserved on your WAN interfaces, but pose a problem if the addresses are dynamic:

    ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.2.x 3389 1.1.1.1 3389 route-map NAT-WAN1ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.2.x 3389 2.2.2.2 3389 route-map NAT-WAN2
Replace the address of your interface WAN1 and 2.2.2.2 with the address of your 1.1.1.1 WAN2 interface. Applying the road maps will work pretty much the same way as it does with your statements of overload. Each transmission NAT rule applies only to the traffic corresponding to rules of the road map.

  • Connections RV042G Dual WAN

We are a Cisco DPC3825 provided by our ISP cable modem connection.  It has been configured to act as a switch only.  They provided us with 2 static IP addresses.

When each WAN port is connected individually, all right.  I see the IP addresses on the respective WAN port, and it works fine.

When I connect the two WAN ports to the modem at the same time, I see a large amount of traffic between the WAN ports, as indicated by the port LEDs, and the RV042G becomes totally inadmissible through its web interface.

How can I get the RV042G working with two connected WAN ports?

Hi Rory, I'm not sure that the CPD is designed to aggregate in this way traffic. I wouldn't be surprised if he made a loop network, especially if you see a lot of broadcast or multicast packets.

The most typical deployment has usually 2 connections that are unique modems.  I would suspect your 2 static IP addresses are on the same subnet / block ip that the router do not know how to react to load balance this scenario since he's going to the same destination in turn causing a loop until resources are consumed.

  • RV180 DHCP IPv4 client to work on the WAN interface?

Is it the customer Cisco RV180 router/firewall support DHCP on WAN interface? What is specifically mentioned on the DHCPv6 client, however, it is not mentioned for the client to IPv4. I want to set up with my cable modem in Bridge mode accessing the WAN on the RV180 interface? So I would get the IP address of my ISP.

    Hello Niels,

The RV180W can certainly pick up a DHCP address from your ISP to the WAN interface, via a bridged modem. In fact, it is the default configuration. Of course, you can also change your type of connection to a static IP or PPPoE (DSL) connection profile.

All our small business routers are certainly capable of this confiugartion. Personally, I currently use a RV180W with a cable connection. Public IP from my ISP very well address the picked up RV180W.

  • How to use a VM vyatta to manage my LAN/WAN connections?

I have a simple problem that is hard to explain, so please bear with me. I am using a router Vyatta VM to manage my local network. I have connectivity thoughout my local network but I cannot go outside my local network of the virtual machine. I have a linux box running ubuntu 8.04, vmware server 2.0.2 + vyatta VC6. eth1 on the box gets a public IP address from my ISP (we tell 1.1.1.2 for demonstration).

eth1 has an eth1.2 to interface VLAN with private IP 192.168.1.2/24.

I have some maps more who are bridge interface br0 with IP 192.168.2.2/24.

    Ubuntu eth1 (1.1.1.2) <-WAN

    Eth1.2 Ubuntu (192.168.1.2/24) <-LAN 1

    Br0 (192.168.2.2/24) Ubunru <-LAN 2

    Vyatta eth0 (192.168.1.1/24) is filled to eth1.2 <-LAN 1

    Vyatta eth1 (192.168.2.1/24) is bridged to br0 <-LAN 2

Routes on the GNU / linux and vyatta appear to be configured correctly, but I can't do a ping of the Vyatta VM to the internet (say google http://74.125.45.105) or my gateway address ISP 1.1.1.1 that, however, I can ping from the Vyatta VM to the linux box eth1 1.1.1.2, which is a "public" IP address I thought I'd add a static route to 0.0.0.0/0 next hop 1.1.1.2 would do it but still no cookies. Someone knows what's the problem?

    Enter the account settings.

Select the new address to be the default.
All at the bottom of the list of accounts in the left side is account Actions.
