adoption phase = fs_clone

I'm a bit confused about the impact of the action FS_CLONE in ADOPTION.

Some document indicated that you CAN run AFTER a full course of the ADOPTION, so that you save time when you start the next cycle (and also to perform a sort of validation already).

But, isn't the new cycle ADOPTION already started using this command? I am meaning: when you run this command, is there not a gap between Editioned file systems, where the captain is actually switching?

I request this because of ANY change that is done within the whole Editioned files, but excluding the ADOPTION and OPATCH.

Let's assume that you do not work FS_CLONE at the end of the cycle, but only at the beginning of the next cycle. Is there not a difference then?

Standard phases of adoption are prepare, apply, finalize, commissioning, cleaning. These five phases must be used.

special cases using adoption abort, actualize_all, fs_clone. fs_clone in fact entirely copy the system file to run the patch file system.

Where when you run prepare phase it will copy that all incremental changes to file system to run the patch file system.

A little late on this thread, but assuming that you have enough space and still get the error "there is not enough space on the volume that you specified.

What is the space allocated for the mount point where you try to install? If it is greater than 2.5 TB, you can get this error. Re-size and try again.

Hello Jenna.

An alternative is to try "adoption phase = failover mtrestart = no" if we can confirm that the issue is w.r.t. starting services.

Thus, the failover can be completed and starting the services can be looked in or fixed once the failover successfully completed.

I have performed adoption phase = prepare and this is completed successfully.
What should I do? nothing and adoption left to prepare the phase or: adopted phase = phase of demolition then = cleaning mode = full adoption?

Hello

According to the documentation, you must perform cleanup after interrupt you a cycle of correction.

However, it does mention the abandonment of a cycle of correction without doing anything.

To be in the right side, run the cleaning with or after the demolition.

The facts before patching

We try to apply patches to our 12.2.3 instance - before patching the file system to run was / U02/FS2/EBSapps/Appl- the patch file system has been / U02/FS1/EBSapps/Appl

After the session of the ADOPTION, the execution file has been returned to/u02/fs1/EBSapps/appl and vice versa - the patch file system has been returned to/u02/fs2/EBSapps/appl

When you run fs_clone, to synchronize two file systems, we encountered an error related to the inventory.xml file.

My question is

Fact adoption phase = fs_clone - need to be run from the RUN filesystem or the PATCH file system? Or is it even important?

Apply the hotfix using ADOPTION in R12.2.4

The consultant encoutered issue in the setup and asked me to apply the p18955265_R12 patch. HZ. C_R12_GENERIC.
I want to apply this fix by using "adoption." I understand that in R12.2.4, you can not apply a patch using adpatch? but only adopt?
Patch adoption cycles mentioned the following:
Phases:
adoption phase = prepare-> copy the code of the application
adoption phase =-> apply patch in PATCH environment
adoption phase = finalize-> makes it ready for the failover system
adoption phase = failover-> bounce the transition to the system of system files and. FS2 becomes runtime environment.
adoption phase = cleaning-> withdrawal of obsolete objects.
adoption phase = fs_clone-> synchronize file systems
Do I have to perform the steps above to apply the p18955265_R12 hotfix. HZ. C_R12_GENERIC?

Run 'adoption phase = prepare' and it must synchronize the FS patch with execution for Patch 17020685 FS - I assumed that "adoption phase = fs_clone" was performed as described (Oracle E-Business Suite Release Readme (Doc ID 1586214.1) 12.2.3) before the Patch 17020685
