  We recently bought two laptops for our children. My wife tried to set up parental controls, but we were striking problems on one of them.

  We have removed the trial version of McAfee that came with the laptop and installed computer Total virus defense. We tried and then configure the parameters of the family.

  A laptop works fine, but the laptop on the other, identical displays an error message when the family settings are changed.
  "Sorry, we could not make changes to parental controls settings."

  The settings seem to be there properly, despite the error message, but they have no effect on navigation or access time.

  The two laptops are running Windows 8 with local accounts for the parameters.

  Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

  It is a common misunderstanding when you start working in Ae. It takes time to get used to, and even veterans are still this error from time to time. Here's the thing, you have to get in your head: your project Panel is where your source material is, and the timeline is the place where there is a representation of this source. This means that if you duplicate an item in your timeline (particularly relevant for the precomps) it will duplicate a copy, not the source. so, if change you it - it will change all instances of this copy. If you want to duplicate a precomp and create another source, you will need to do it in a 4 step operation:

  1. duplicate your precomp in the timeline (you got that day)
  2. Select the source of this copy in the project Panel (currently the same precomp)-right click on the-> precomp 'reveal the source layer project.
  3. duplicate the precomp selected in the project Panel
  4. replace the copy in your panel mounting with the duplicate of the Source Panel (shortcut - Ctrl + alt + / when both are selected, or drag it to double with pressing Alt)

  what you are really duplicate the precomp twice - once in the project window and once in the timeline, and then one link to the other.

  I recently had a problem with hard drive in my Dell Inspiron N7010, and I need to replace the entire hard disk. After that, I bought windows 7 using the disc I had, and Windows 7 (pro) installed fine. However, several things happened. For some reason, my monitor won't go on a resolution of 1152 x 864 on my monitor 17 "! He's used to, but now it won't. Windows 7 also will not let me activate aero, because it says that my graphics card does not support it!   Hmmm, the DV AVI type 2 NTSC 720 x 480 is good for the first... normally that's what you get mini capture DV tape... SD video...

  If you can get Streamclip and place your AVI (xvid) file, you can export it to an AVI file and get rid of the Xvid...

  If it sounds good (try to import for the first maybe.. .see if it looks good in there as a computer game with a video player)... then you can put THAT AVI in virtualDub and export your TGA images...

  Maybe it will work OK...

  Not that crazy and the idea, as I've used Quicktime pro to import MOV files and exported in the form of files MOV... to make changes to the file... better it...

  I hope you can help out me.  I'm a newbie, but I appreciate learning Dreamweaver and learning * with * DW as well.  I have successfully set up a site with DW, but a second has me baffled.  With this site, I try to use a photo as the background for a main div.  I was experimenting with different looks, and when I removed the #main height/width and then pasted in the height/width of the div, the div will not return to the old height/width front.  I tried all sorts of changes to see what else could have changed, but I don't know that this css is exactly the same than when made correctly.

  My goal is to create a page with a sidebar on the left and a main div with the background of the photo and a title on the page and a footer at the bottom.

• Duration of the Image will not always change 3

  It's crazy, there must be a button somewhere that I missed. Since the upgrade, I've not been able to adjust the duration of a still image.

  When I import a new still image in the project Timing prperties are automatically set to:
  In: 1 (in pictures)

  Out: 3

  Duration: 3

  Can I change the number, but it will not save the new number. I can't expand the size of the image in the timeline panel either.

  How do I increase the time so my background image will remain throughout this project? Thank you.

  Never mind the top of the Timing box, it was a constant time, checkbox, had to uncheck.

  Language is assigned to the text at the level of the character. Dictionary prefs affect the dictionary to use when a particular language is affected.

  You can see the language assigned to the text in the drop-down list at the bottom of the character Panel, it's analog in the in text mode control panel, or in the definition of dialog boxes for styles applied to the selected text.

  Its possible that a another calculation, or condition is their use. If you are sure that this is not the case and you can't remove them then there is a glitch inside more. In the past, I've erased it by opening the workbook in office and delete them there.

• Help!  Still 'suddenly' will not make a slideshow for me!

  Good, Win 7 Pro (x 64) system, still CS5.5 (aka still 5.1).  I have made many a slideshow, automatic and manual, with just a few slides as well as with the scores of them.  If a desired slide show had more than 99 slides in it, I had no problem dividing the slides between 2 or more slideshows and connects them.  My most recent project, including slide shows was in November/December (can not remember which EXACTLY) last year (or in a few months).  HOWEVER, now I can't get the program to create a slide show to DVD no matter how small it is!

  I had a project with several small films, including video slideshows created outside again and some 470 photos in slideshows Manuel (no unique slideshow exceeded 97 slides).  The slides were all JPEGs, capable of 720 x 480.  When I tried to build the project, I spent the transcoding to the ' project to build - preparation building slideshows "and received the message"General error"always so useful, which of course killed the build.  Sometimes, if I re-project manager and tried build, it has exceeded the "strengthening of slideshows" to "Loading Videos" (clear from the slides) and THEN I got the "General error"!

  I tried to save the project to a different folder/name... same result.  I saved to a different folder/name and deleted all the videos, leaving ONLY slideshows... same result.  FWIW - I tried to delete all the slides and built just videos and which worked FINE!

  I tried the empty projects from SCRATCH, create a simple slideshow using DIFFERENT IMAGES... "General error".

  I tried to return all (well, videos) original, delete the ENTIRE folder of transcode and re-construction... same result.

  I erased the media database Caches... no help.  I deleted EVERYTHING in the folders "média Cache" and "Media Cache files" in the AppData > Roaming > Adobe > common files... still no help!

  I even re-installed my Pro CS5.5 production installation no files... no go!

  Two things I noticed, neither of which can be too helpful... first of all, it builds fine Blu - Ray and Flash, but not on DVD, second, on the file menu, THE options under "Render" (rendering project, make animated Menus and display slide shows) are greyed out!

  What I need, apart from a miracle, of course, is one) is the build crawler / CONNECTED anywhere so that I could be able to understand what goes wrong?  - and - b) What suggestions are there ' All may need to help me out here?

  I'll just say that your confirm that a slide show of the 3 slide fails. Try it with jpg which were all opened and resaved in photoshop. I don't know what it means that the phase of slideshow of construction work, then the next step will fail. I agree that should mean something, but I don't know what.
