Agent installation on Redhat Linux for managing database through grid

Hi friends,

Plan to add Oracle databases (we are now 6 databases) Grid control. Please specify the options available. We will choose based on our environment.

Significant immediate responses

Vincent

Hello

Seven options are available. Choose your option depending on your environment.

1. agent deploy Application
2 installation of the agent mounted by NFS
3 agentDownload script

for example: chmod 755 agentDownload.linux & utilisation./agentDownload.linux

4 installation of the cluster Agent
5. cloning management agent
6 installation of the interactive Agent through YES
7. silent

for example: responsefile

It could be that useful...

Thank you

But WHEREAS, when we check the OBIEE compatibility matrix, cleary mentions the support of OBIEE 11 g with Redhat Linux 6 (level 1 + updated to date)

  • The cluster Agent installation does not ask for password Agent

    Hi all
I try to install configure the management agent on a few nodes of the RAC on Windows Server 2003 64-bit. I installed the agent on other hosts before, but not on clusters. Installation seems to be pretty simple, YES the other nodes automatically detects and installs on them. However, when I do the installation of cluster, I am never invited to the agent registration page register with the administration server. He's asking the host name of the server and port, but never the password. Then the agent installs and starts the service, he is never seen by the administration server.
Has anyone encountered this before? Is it possible to save it now, or should I just try to reinstall manually?

This is an expected on windows cluster behavior, registration of the agent will not be asked.
Once the user installation must ensure the agent on each node manually by emctl sure agent \bin

Compatible Linux RHEL (Linux Red Hat Enterprise Server 6.7) for oracle database 11.2.0.4 with grid Infrastructure.

    Hi all

We plan to patch Linux Redhat Enterprise Server (6.4 and 6.5) to 6.7.

I tried Searchin' on support of oracle for the compatibility of the database for Linux patches, but not able to find accurate information.

  • oratab for R12 database 11g on Linux

    Hello:

This 11.2.0.3 on Linux database is migrated to HP - UX. I was checking oratab under/etc (on Linux), but he has no lines. Instead, / var/opt/oracle/oratab has this saved SID. Would you please answer my questions below:

I would add that SID to the/etc/oratab?
How is it his work always with/etc/oratab vacuum?
Why is/var/opt/oracle (on Linux)? I didn't copy this to the target (Linux).

    Thanks and regards.

    On Solaris, there "/ var/opt/oracle/oratab.

On other operating systems, it is ' / etc/oratab.

The oratab file contains lines similar to the following, which are used to identify the SID and the directory corresponding Oracle for each database or the Automatic Storage Management instance on the system:

    SID: oracle_home_directory: [Y |] N]

Stop and start the Oracle software

I would add that SID to the/etc/oratab?

    Yes.

How is it his work always with/etc/oratab vacuum?

The database would normally work if the entry is missing or corrupted. However, if you try to patch/upgrade to level the instance he complains of the missing entry.

Why is/var/opt/oracle (on Linux)? I didn't copy this to the target (Linux).

Check the timestamp of the file, maybe it was edited/modified by someone else?

    Thank you

  • Fonts for RedHat Linux

The fonts Adobe store lists the fonts for Windows and Mac.  What about fonts for Linux?

We use LaTeX on RedHat Linux and a requirement is to use the family of fonts Adobe universe 57 condensed in a report that I am generating.

The it Department is leaning toward demanding the use of the Type 1 fonts rather than allowing the use of OpenType fonts.

What product of Type 1 (Mac or Windows) we need license for use under Linux?  And just in case they allow OpenType fonts, OpenType (Mac or Windows) product we need license for use under Linux?

Is there anything else that should be considered in regard to using fonts Adobe on Linux?  Even for use with LaTeX on Linux?

You can certainly use Windows Type 1 fonts in your Linux application (although some require. AFM files, these are also provided with the fonts, even if Windows does not need them).

On the side of OpenType, the fonts are the same files for Mac and Windows.

Your only complication is that to use the Adobe Download Manager and download the files in the first place, you need to purchase Windows or Mac OS.

    Yes.

  • Best way to manage databases 8i and 9i?

    Hello
I'm looking for the best way to manage databases 8i, 9i, 10 g and 11 g with EM (of course, the upgrade from 8i databases is not an option). I installed SGD 12 c successfully, but the 12.1 agent does not connect to the 8i databases. What are the alternatives?
-L'agent 10g can handle 8i, but he will be able to connect to 12.1 SGD?
-If this does not work, I guess I need a SGC 12.1 for 9i, 10g and 11g databases and a 10g SGD for 8i databases. Is that a viable solution? Box 10g and 12.1 SGD coexists in the same environment?

I'm looking for the best script that actually works, I understand everything that connects to 8i is not supported.

    Thank you.

    Hello.
I'm afraid that you have understood.

We will distinguish MONITORING that is done by the management agent (administration, maintenance, performance management etc) - which is made directly from the WHO.

    According to my experience:
OEM 10 G is the latest version that can totally HANDLE 8i databases.
OEM 11 G can MONITOR 8i (via an agent 10 G) databases, but cannot MANAGE them (or in other words, the 11 G SGD cannot connect to the 8i databases).
OEM 12 c cannot CONTROL or MANAGE 8i databases.

If you use OEM to manage your 8i databases (and intend to continue this way) I advised to retain a dedicated OEM 10G installation for the databases.
There is no problem using 2 different installations of the WHO and several organizations choose to do for various reasons.
The disadvantages are that you will need to duplicate your configurations OEM (patterns, rules etc.) and of course you will not be able to manage all the databases in a single console...

If you use OEM to monitor 8i databases, you can create a set of parameters defined by the user that will run on a 9i database and connects to the 8i DB link databases.
This solution is less than ideal, but it could eliminate the need to maintain another facility of SGD if all you need to watch the 8i databases.

  • Installation of fedora Linux next to my window 7 (dual boot)

    Hello

I am facing a problem while installing fedora on my computer windows laptop Z580 7.

I had narrowed the C drive to get 100 GB of free unallocated space where I could install the linux os.but when installing, I am confronted to error: ERROR of PARTITIONING "could not allocate requested partitions: not enough free space on disk.»

After going to some forums, I discovered the issue could be with limitation of the disk partition hard drive that is 4.

computer laptop lenovo already have 4 partitions additional partitions.and for / and / home etc for linux, this problem occurs.

Please advice me how I can solve this problem.

    Thank you

What happens if I also remove the disk tool from lenovo (of course after a backup of DVD) and merge it with the C drive. This primary transmission of woud do it3 and I can then install linux?

    Hi all

    Thanks for the responces.

I was able to install fedora 17 next to my win7 os.

I had to remove the drive Lenovo (with installation for the drivers files) after a backup of DVD.

However, these two days has been very difficult... and had a bad experience.

I changed the configuration of grub and installed nvidia package(was_just_experimenting_ _ ).after, I did the restart.it just won't enter the linux system. Although Win 7 was very good.

I am frustrated, lil being a novice and decided to reinstall linux by replacing the old linux.

Yet once the curse of maximum 4 primary partition now comes in picture, whenver I tried using USB or Live CD

He would show me errors. Then I felt that I had to delete the Win disk linux partition manager... thought tool.but. Overrride grub on the MBR could be a problem when I would have started to get into Win7, because he would have got deleted as well with the linux partition. I went to EasyBCD and used an option (I have no idea if it works or not. took the risk) and run the possibility of placing the win vista/7 start files on the MBR, (thinking that he could remove the replacement of GRUB).

Then I rebooted and BAM. I was lost as soon as I saw the message failed to initialize. (I have no bootable Win7)

But sometimes the rescue... A key recovery saved me in 15 minutes, he did recovery .and I could retrieve the settings to factory default, althogh I lost a part of the very important files.

Then, I deleted the disk Win Manager linux partition and reinstalled again.

now, the two systems operate correctly.

Conclusion: 1 Linux can not be installed in a system with 4 primary partition already existing (I could be wrong here)

    2. its safe to remove drive lenovo (containing the driver set up files), once you have the back upward.

    3. you must avoid changing any configuration for grub bootloader (unless you are an expert)

    4. for my case, normal Live CD has failed. I had to create a live USB (way fedora live usb creator) and I had to

delete files with the extension .efi (a person of some fedora forum suggested do), until I booted from it.

    She's the one

Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory

Please check if the directories are present or not.

    CD/home/core/databases / ControlFile.

If the directories are present, check for the permissions on the mountpoint.

    LS - ltr/home/core/Databases

    LS - ltr/home/core/Databases/ControlFile

The permissions should be user and group name through which you create the controlfile.

I hope that this information is sufficient. If the problem solved with this brand then kindly as correct answer later for others
