• Memory card reader problem

  I have a HP Pavilion dv5-2134us running Windows 7, 64 bit.  In the past, worked the small memory card reader to the front.  It does not now.  There must be a switch somewhere in the device manager - not to conclude.  There must be some downloadable HP driver - was not found.

  Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read on your HP Pavilion dv5-2134us Entertainment Notebookand of problems with a memory card or a player.  Here is a document on the memory card reader troubleshooting.

  Sometimes, Windows 7 will not allow any change in the drivers here is a solution for this.

  First of all, try to click on the Windows icon, type services in the start search box, and then click or tap on the advice of local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type must be - automatic and the service status should be - started
  Restart the computer after this stage and try to reinstall.

  My alcor micro usb 2.0 card suddenly reader has stopped working on my asus laptop yesterday, when I tried to insert my SD memory card that it just shown for a few seconds, and then he disappeared under the "My computer" window, I checked on 'device manager' and there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point above and under device status , I get this message: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory.   If it is recognized in safe mode you should perform a clean boot to try and isolated the program that is causing the problem.

  I forgot what they call it.  Explain the situation... you need to unlock/reset the BIOS password you forgot.

  Which driver version you are using on Vista and Windows 7? My Qosmio F50 is running Windows 7 and I m using the version of the driver on Toshiba page 1.00.29.02.
  You use the same version?

  Have you tried different brands of SD cards? I always use the SanDisk Extreme cards because they did not no problem.

  Card reader is properly recognized in Device Manager?
  If it is not recognized, then you used a bad driver.

  If its recognized, the driver has been installed correctly and there is another reason why SD cards cannot be used.

  I hope someone can help me.

  I bought an opportunity Portege R500 (the warranty is still available until 12/2010) and set up with Windows 7 Home Premium.

  Tip; BIOS update and setting BIOS by default (with F9) can solve many problems... it's worth a try...

  By the way; Win 7 is able to update the drivers automatically. I recommend that you run an update in Device Manager and let windows search for the update.

  I ve got another laptop and installed Win 7 as well. The card reader Vista driver has worked for me on Win 7 OS just a tip
