Alias of IOV Distributed System Manager

Is it possible to see the IOV alias name and the name of the physical channel

a cRIO channel?  The Project Explorer displays cRIO channels in this way and

would be nice if the DSM would do that also.  Otherwise if you track down

a bad transducer on a high lane count module, you will need to list the

channels in your head.

One possibility is to look into the following file stored on the cRIO system and extract the information from there.

C:\NI-RT/config/variables. XML

This file contains simple XML code, listing all the IOVs in the current configuration of the cRIO system.

The attached sample project shows how you can read and analyze the information directly on the cRIO system. Of course, you can also copy (FTP) this file to the host and analyzed it.

Note: Scan Engine Channel Info Plus.vi included in the sample, download its own bitstream on the FPGA to determine which modules of series C are located in the cRIO chassis. So this VI cancels and replaces any current FPGA VI running on the cRIO chassis. Use this VI cautiously because it can cause serious problem in your application due to the interruption of the FPGA.

This example uses the reference for the CRY component library to retrieve information about cRIO current of the system hardware.

    Hi all

I just finished real-time 1 training where I learned about the Distributed System Manager.  Then, I deployed a project Veristand and watched.  For me, what I see, it's disturbing, but I'd appreciate your opinions.  While watching the processors, they seem to be occasionally exchange of charges autour.  Veristand project should be "slowed down" meaning that the HIL is not yet turned on, if the PXI chassis should be executed (2) models and custom devices (6) in a stable condition.  There is a good chance that all 6 custom devices work call loops (that I just learned is not recommended).  Also there are moments where two of the proccessors slowly seem to swap loads (in the attached zip) rather than the wobbly behavior below.  Any ideas?  Is - this inidicative of an unhealthy system definition?

CPU scheduling is an interesting topic, and although deliberately threads to different processors can affect the determinism of a system, RTO Scheduler can and will move threads to different processors at different times. Moral of the story, what you're seeing should and fine as long as the use of a processor not individual rail.

Now, if you want more control, VeriStand gives you the ability to control where to run most things. You specifically mention templates and custom devices:

Models - you can specify, on a per model basis, what basis they run on. See "Processor" command on the model configuration page.

Personalized custom - Inline peripheral devices will be running on the same core as the PCL; Custom asynchronous devices (which I'm assuming yours are because they use call loops) will run on what basis you say them.

  • Sharing network Variable not in Distributed System Manager

I have experience with LocalHost.   I have 2 computers A, B.  A, I can read a created/static SNV of B.  However, I need to use a SNV on A to A (I don't know why, I inherited this project and it is not at all commented).  So I create and I see it on my drive D:\\.  However, when I go to NI DIstributed System Manager, there are no library under localhost.  So I write in a VI and call it in another, and I get "DataSocketRead in VI" with the code 56.  Don't know why I can't have it is the Manager.

I have attached ahev the library in case something wrong here.

Have you deployed and right click the shared variable library?

If it's an executable in the bulder properties you should check to deploy shared variables.

  • Manager of distributed system 2011 messed up after that 2012 installed

So, as usual, things break when you install the new version of LabVIEW. I had not yet installed the new drivers, but the new version of MAX has been installed on my computer (it is wrapped in LV install now, rather than with the drivers?). Anyway, I went and opened the 2011 Distributed System Manager and I can't see what follows (Manager of distributed system of 2011 is at the front, 2012 in the back).

  • Real-time System Manager

    Hello world

How can I open real-time System Manager to monitor on my project of myRIO resourses?

I've already activated the VI server on the target.

If I select Tools-> real-time Module I find only "Project Wizard", "set up Time-triggered network" and "viewer of Trace".

    Thank you in advance,

    Lorenzo

The "Distributed System Manager" is an application/executable separated - you can find it, if installed, on the start menu under the folder "National Instruments". If it is not there, then you probably have installed as part of your installation - raise your LV Installer and choose to install.

Alternatively, you can use the System Configuration API to read the various parameters (e.g. CPU / memory) on the target itself to monitoring the health of the system.

  • HP System Management Homepage at VMAs

    Hello!

I read that it is possible to install equipment in vMA agents. I would need to HP System Management Homepage and the utility of Compaq Array Configuration. Can I use the Linux versions, or those for ESX 4/4.1?

While they interact directly with the hardware, do I need to have a vMA on each ESXi?

Thank you very much for your help!

I agree, ACU being available as an offline version is really annoying... I also hope that HP will improve this.

If you are using HP System Insight Manager (it's free by the way) to monitor the host, you will be able to see more details than in the vSphere Client.

In addition you get surveillance and warning. In enterprise environments that use hardware HP HP SIM is a must.

  • On the DPM (Distributed Power Management) in VMware vSphere

    Dear Sir.

    As the description below URL.

    http://www.VMware.com/files/PDF/drs_datasheet.PDF

Could you explain how DPM works on the server?

I want to say how does VMware ESX control the power consumption of the server?

    Kind regards

    Charles

    Charles,

DPM does not resemble the power consumption of an ESX Server, but it leans on the CPU load and memory. "VMware Distributed Power Management (DPM) continually optimizes energy consumption in the data center. When virtual machines in a DRS cluster need less resources, such that during the nights and weekends, DPM consolidated on fewer servers and the rest goes off to reduce energy consumption, the workloads. When VM resource needs increase (for example when users log in applications in the morning), DPM brings guests powered down online to ensure service levels are met. "For more information, see VMware vSphere VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) .

  • BSOD in Windows 8 memory exception error System & Management Service.

    Dear all,

I recently bought a lenovo U410 of the United States. I've been using this computer in Germany since the week last in Germany. Over the last week I had to re install OS 8 on my computer. After re-installation, I was often do a lot of memory management & Service Exception BSOD errors. How can I rectify this?
We need the DMP file because it contains the single record of the sequence of events that led to the accident, what drivers have been loaded, and what has been loaded.

WE NEED AT LEAST TWO FILES DMP TO SPOT TRENDS AND TO CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS.

If you're overclocking (pushing components beyond their design) return you to default at least until the crash is resolved. If you don't know what it is that you're probably not overclocking.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting in SafeMode (F8) with networking.
If you are overclocking stop.  (chances are that if you are unsure if you are, you are not)
To allow us to help you with symptoms BSOD on your computer, download the contents of your folder "\Windows\Minidump".
    The procedure:
    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another location (temporary) somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy (compress)
    * Please download to a service like Skydrive or "Rapidshare" to share files and put a link to them in your answer.
Link to find out how to download below.
To ensure the minidumps are enabled:
    * Click Start, in the search box, type: sysdm.cpl, press ENTER.
    * On the Advanced tab, click Startup and recovery... Settings button.
    * Make sure that automatically restart is unchecked.
    * Under the writing debugging information header, select image partial memory (256 KB) in the list box drop-down (varies from 256kb).
    * Ensure to that small Dump Directory is listed as % systemroot%\Minidump.
    * OK your way out.
    * Reboot if changes have been made.
Please also run MSinfo32 and download the output as well.
To run MSinfo32 please go to start > run > MSinfo32
Go to 'file', 'save' and download the PDF is saved with the DMP
System specs are extremely useful then please include everything you know.

Blue screen view and that crashed are often wrong and should only be used in case of emergency...

I will answer the second part that I just finished an IP based scan CA for a client.

    first-

    Admin-> Options-> tab Jobs

Expand the task "on-demand - discover.

Select 'discover' and click on edit (to change the task)

use edit-> tab tasks-> task to select 'Discover'-> settings button

    -This is the fun part-

    Select 'IP subnets' tab-> add

Choose to enter via the beach or CIDR class (which I prefer)

Select what are "well-known" ports you want to search by (I found success with all checked)

Click on the button 'Add '.

    Rinse/repeat as needed

Now, if you want to discover in addition to say... 5 subnets, you need to add a double task otherwise that you find the questions I never reduced down. This should be pretty self-explanatory under part of work to change the steps above.

If you do not want it discover all the servers of advertisements and local LANMAN server, you'll want to disable them here too! I suggest to uncheck:

'Discover the areas' - under the Active Directory tab

LAN Manager systems - slot tab discovered node

Active directory - on the discovery tab node

That should help you on your way.

  • Can be used with ESXi 4.0 HP system management tool?

    Hello

I'm installing ESXi 4.0 on HP DL380 G4 server and I was wondering if the management of the HP tool system can be installed along side the hypervisor, so I can remotely check the condition of the equipment of the machine.

Anyone know if this is possible?

    Thank you

I had little experience with HP SIM, it's been a while. So with ESXi, there is no agent that runs on the host computer, it uses the CIM (Common Interface Management) which is an API that can monitor the hardware and return this information to tell your server HP SIM. For the configuration and use, I recommend looking at HP and the involvement of the HP documents. If you have installed ESXi HP image, then from the point of view host you should be good. You must later have your SIM Server talk to host ESXi and sure he monitors the components you want and alert on it, etc.

Here are a few articles around ESXi and CIM blog:

  • The partitions of a distributed system and custom map of cooking.

    Hello

I'm experimenting with custom (schema-class) media card to distribute the game. I see one instance of my card is created and it is used to store data from all partitions hosted by JVM.

    My question is
In case of transfer of the partition, how one partition data will be removed from the backup card. It will require complete sweep on keySet()? It will be done in parallel with the cache operation (on partitions of transfer / other partitions)? I ask, because I want to know what use of concurrency should support application card customized to be used as background of the cache of distribution.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Organizing data for the partition (for example due to failover) transfer requires an iteration of the set of keys. However, only the partition in question must be locked; other partitions owned by the same cache service can still be repaired. The lock is managed to a level of internal consistency.

3.5 consistency, a key iteration is no longer necessary, to reduce the overhead of the transfer of the partition.

    Thank you
