  In my opinion, Alienware laptop computers are skewed when it comes to their fan profiles. It's just like that, I'm afraid, but there is a way around. Like you, I bought my laptop (M17x-R4) fans has worked, kicking in full power when I played the games. But now they have not. Who knows why. But in any case, the solution is to download speedfan NOT fan control software. Download Hwinfo. The updated link here.

  Then you can control two fans at the same time (you can't control them separately). I'm able to put my fans at 5000 RPM. First, you open the program, click "sensors", and then at the bottom are a small fan icon. Click and you can control your fans. Choose a speed, then click the 'manual' button that will set the speed. It all seems too good and easy, well it's because theres more than that. some laptops like mine, stops when you play a game and the fans are controlled by this program. but there is a difficulty. You must go to 'program' then 'settings' in the 'security' tab you uncheck the box 'Support' and then you have no more accidents. Or how to reconnect somehow. my current fan is the basic intel cpu fan you get for free and it is quite wrong to say the least.

  All parties except for the motherboard are always available.

  New motherboard is the: msi z97Gaming 3 (yes I know, 3rd world country I am living, not really any decent other options)

  available heatpaste, the fan fits after a few changes of detail. (to the metal ring, I didn't touch the fan itself)

  You cannot use your alien-cooler, unless you cut the 7 pin connector, cut the wire, tie / crimp on 3 new terminals & insert correctly into a new connector for fan 3 pins:

  I had the same problem with my Alien Aurora R4 using Windows 8.1
  Impossible to set up the speed of the fans using the auto mode. 2 fans operating at 100% then the wer to low temperatures.

  I fixed this problem by uninstalling my 'Command Center' program, download the special windows 8.1 "Command Center" here:
  http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails?driverId=P1K0M I downloaded the file called App_NT_AWCC305010_W8_W81_W7_Setup_P1K0M_ZPE.exe

  and I restarted my PC after installing the new program of Command Center.

  Now, everything is OK: Fans are runing with a low speed using the auto mode.

• Alienware 14, fan only runs on start & everything seems to be fine

  I just upgraded the i5 CPU 4200 m to i7-4700mq myself. It starts fine, but after about 10 min running windows I noticed that the fan does not turn.

  I restarted to check and noticed only towers for about half a second to start, stops completely when it reaches the bios menu at the head of alien.

  Then I turned it off and start looking for solutions, won't damage the CPU...

  HWmonitor allows to control the fan and CPU temperatures. Try to re - install the control centre Alienware and updated to latest BIOS A09.

  If the problem persists, run an ePSA Diagnostics to check for hardware errors.

  Is there something that can be done to get control of the Alienware Aurora fans if Council MIO died? I have tried rivatuner and fan speed, but two of them seems don't work...

  I did clean re install Win7 disk resource and of course my MIO Board brick... no luck I didn't question with jury of MIO--> re installation of the system before...

  FX does not work, readings of thermal controller are disabled. I tried everything I could find on this forum. Light of Council MIO is on, but can not be installed. In the hardware Manager, I had this thing 'unknown device '... I gave up just really trying to repair it... now I want to just be quite - since I reinstalled computer system is terribly strong.

  Hi, I recently bought a desktop computer Alienware Aurora R5 for the games.

  It has graphics GTX 1070, 32 GB of RAM and i7 CPU.

  The PC itself is great and if I play movies/music or make internet surfing is very quiet.

  But if I try to make games with it the fan noise becomes unbearably high... almost like an airplane taking off.

  I updated my BIOS and DELL technician has replaced all fans inside the PC, but they do not at all help.

  Are there not in some way you can help me? Thank you in advance!

  I use my Aurora R5 with an i7 7600 and GTX 1070 mainly for RVS with a live HTC and had the same problem with the PSU 460W fan revving up and down all the time without load on the machine (!) and open a folder with Dell online support. In the process, I could prove that the behaviour of the PSU is a systematic failure, which can be reproduced as follows:

  If you run a diagnostic self-test on BACK ePSA / bios level (press F12 repeatedly during the startup of your PC) during the game "memory test" PSU fan will do limit it sounds known. To make sure that it is not the CPU or caissons fans you can run the test with the case open, fan power supply sounds diffently.

  There is a problem though I feel when I connect windows.

  After about 5-10 minutes after entering my PIN and connecting to windows machine suddenly freezes for a while (2-3 seconds) and the CPU fan runs at maximum speed then stops and the GPU fan. Since then sometimes not at all again. Only when I restart the laptop.

  Everyone knows what it might be?

  I updated the driver 530 intel HD as the GTX driver 970 M. The BIOS version is the most recent.

  I managed to solve my problem by downloading an iso file of Windows 10 of microsoft, the SSD of formatting and do a clean install of the operating system. I downloaded all the necessary software on my site of product. My Alienware 15 R2 works perfectly now.

  Hello, ive been experiencing this problem for quite a while already, sometimes when I start my pc, it displays an error message saying that the gpu fan could not launch, then I run diagnostics and nothing seems to have a problem, restart the pc and no more error and everything beautiful.

  Now this trick no longer works, and the gpu fan does not start going which makes the turbojet go crazy (noisy one that never normally begins) and diagnosis displays the following:
