Alienware 17 - R2, drops battery play mode?

Hello Alienware Club.

I have a problem with my Alienware 17 R2 while I play in games. So I play in Team Fortress 2, and when I come to a place with a lot of players where a lot of action (shooting etc.), Alienware is instantly activate the battery Mode so fps drop, adjust the bass and etc.

The problem is that the power adapter is plugged while this thing is happening and it's really annoying. When I unplug the adapter and then plug it back - 'everything back to its place.

I mean this:

When I disconnect > connect thing that crossed on my screenshot - it doesn't have a meaning.

What is the problem? How to fix?

p.s. I'm sorry for my bad English, it's not my native, I hope you understand what I wrote.

You need the DELL power adapter, they like to send bad food with these laptops and when your game if low power adapters, it draws too much power turn off to stand to get damaged. I had to ask that for mine a year ago when I bought it... Here is also the reference numbers:

  • Satellite A660 - fan 90% on battery optimized mode

Hi all my dear users of Toshiba that I really respect because they use such great brand Toshiba. I hope you have the time to read my problem and that its length can not bother you and you can do me favor and answer me.
I am from Egypt and I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite A660 - 17M. It is really a great device and I've updated the BIOS twice on the official website of Toshiba and now I have the 2.00 BIOS os independent.

My problem now is that the fan cooling and here's what happens with me. When I adjust method in the Toshiba cooling ensures peak performance so that the temp is between 36 to 63% and the fan speed is 52 to 75% and it takes a lot of time turns off because it is not easy to reach the beach of temp which makes it either stops when I'm inactive or work.

The largest part of the problem is that when I change the method of cooling battery optimized mode everything working the fan going to 90% and rest, so never or up to this I put the laptop before in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 minutes. Then it is cool and it stops. So in the meantime either inactive or work done, it jumps again to 90%. When I turned off my laptop and wait to be completely cooled, then turn it on while in battery optimized mode the fan starts working during start-up only stops until Windows starts completely then it climbs to 90% and remaining so ever except when I force him to be cool by placing it in front of the fridge.

My friends, I think that it is not logical to always work in conditions of refrigerator and also it is illogical to have fan always 90% especially that I'm on battery optimized mode.

What is the problem in your opinion, and if someone has the same laptop can help and describe what is happening with him also. I do not remember if these events are produced before BIOS set to day or not as I they weren't in my mind before BIOS update and I don t know whether or not this happens also before the BIOS update.

From what I understand, is that the battery optimized mode fan running weaker than the maximum performance mode. Then what's happening and if you say he remains silent until this than complete Windows starts and runs then 90% to compensate for the accumulated heat, I agree with you, but shouldn't t happen to some extend then stops at the battery life optimized according to the name of the battery optimized mode.

Really I am so disappointed and now know what the problem is. Please help and don t advise me to call Toshiba. Whatever they say please send us the laptop. I m waiting for your responses and thanks a lot for the time spent reading my message.

    Hey,.

Normally if you use the battery mode optimized for the method of cooling the fan will run less maximum performance. So your laptop will work more silent, but with a higher temperature but usually you don't notice it.

So if this happened only since the update of the BIOS is you load the default settings in the BIOS after update? Go to the BIOS Setup and press F9 to load the default values. Then save & exit the BIOS Setup.

I would be also interesting to know what operating system you are using. What is the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or your own installation?

The fan should be cleaned from time to time using a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. This can also help improve the cooling. An accurate and interesting article on cleaning the notebook, you can find here:

  • T440p windows 10 battery charge mode

    Hi all

I had a recently updated T440p to level to win10pro win7pro. Among other things, the most annoying is the battery charge mode: I put it in "custom load thresholdd", between 55% and 85%. Instead, each time you start the battery starts to load and I have to go to PowerManager8 and change the setting to custom. Then everything is going ok until the next start-up, where I have to do the same thing...

The notification on my antivirus is the second most annoying: I forticlient antivirus (the latest version, updated to work with win10 ok) running without problem, but in each boot win10 informs me that forticlient is disabled and keeps telling me the same every now and then... I've already put the Panel I want info on the antivirus, but win10 seems that does not understand this...

    Any help will be welcomed.

    Thank you, guys!

Hi x220forme and thanks for the welcome!

I found a 'strange' way of trying to solve my problem: I have read in this forum about someone else whom the battery was not charged as it should, and the notice was "try to degrade your power managememnt driver and power manager.

So I thought ' why not? ' and the last 36 hours, I installed Power Management Driver 1.67.03 and Power Manager 6.67 (with windows 10 Pro in a T440p).

Until now, looks like it works well. After many restarts, my battery is at 85% and fails to demand, as he has done with PM8. I'll wait a few more days and let the community know, in case where someone else facing the same problem.

    Thanks again!

  • Stuck at 50% after battery saver mode have changed for Linux.

    Hello

When I had installed on my X 1/2 G W7P, I turned on the battery saver mode.

Later, I decided to change the Linux operating system and has not changed this back to normal

operating on battery and Linux (Debian) seems only to charge the battery at 50%.

First of all, it is in fact a matter of strives Windows and second, is there a command

    TIA.

    Additional...

TLP do not work on systems with sandtbridge or newer.

Which, I believe, includes the 1/2 G X. However, another

Turn off battery saving mode--> press and hold down the power button until the red LED is displayed, the device restarts and appearance of the logo blackberry and telephone lights--> ride on battery saving mode (with off location services), and then monitor the battery consumption again.

  • DUO 13: Buzz and high battery loss mode "sleep"

I notice a rather strange problem and concern with my DUO 13, when I put it on sleep, I hear a very low hum coming from the center of the laptop computer, after a few hours this part Gets a little warmer and I get a significant (5-6% per hour) battery loss. Everyone has noticed this problem?

I tried to put the phone in airplane mode bofore enter in sleep (just to check if the feature "connected internet ' could be the reason), but I had the same noise behavior.

While the laptop is working I can't heard this noise, also if I put into Hibernate the laptop, this does not happen. Can adefective unit or it's normal behavior?

    Cugel,

Battery loss of 5 to 6% per hour is a lot. I think that this is supposed to be 10% per hour the screen on while playing a movie. Can clarify you what you are doing when in mode 'sleep'?

Also a laptop computer in mode 'sleep' shouldn't be heat sensitive.

The hum that you describe sounds as it can come from inductors in the diet. It is usual for them to make some noise, but it is usually by ultrasound. At low enough power output maybe he can't spend fast enough without having really low efficiency, where the audible hum.

It could also be the audio circuit / speakers picking up some sort of interference if it sounds like it is coming from the speakers. How loud is it anyway? Can hear without putting your ear to the unit?

  • Satellite A300 - consumes a lot of battery in mode 'sleep'

    Hello
I have a Satellite A300-1MP, brand new, with Vista 32.

When I put it in mode 'sleep', she devours battery. Something like 10-20% of the overnight!
Why is this happening? Is this normal? If not, how to fix? Is there something I can do or is there a problem with the laptop battery?

My old laptop is a Satellite M70-340, and standby mode, it would lose less than 5% per day!

    I'd appreciate your help!
    Thank you!

    Hello

You may need to disable certain options in the BIOS.
I'm talking about Wake up LAN and similar options.

I found this article from Toshiba:

+ Battery draining 15-20% when it is turned off during the night.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB6B01N50013R01.htm

Disabling Wake up option should help.

  • Activate the battery Conservation Mode in Windows 10

Lenovo ThinkPad E540 laptop running Windows 10

When I got this machine, he was running Windows 7. With the help of Lenovo Power Manager, I was able to put the battery to load only when it fell below 40% and charge to a maximum of 80%. This configuration is designed to extend the useful life of the battery. My laptop is plugged in most of the time. I only use the battery for short periods.

When I put the battery always charged as he did in Windows 7 (from 40 to 80%), but I could not find a setting to fix this to upgrade to Windows 10. At some point, I installed a critical update of Lenovo. I think it was an update of the firmware. Since then, the charges of the battery to 100% every time I plug the. I want to charge the battery the way I used to. I saw this parameter called Mode of Conservation in online discussions.

This message indicates that it is possible to access the Conservation Mode in 10 Windows through the application of Lenovo settings:

    http://www.improdia.com/tech-tips/Lenovo-battery-conservation-Windows-10/

I followed the instructions in the post above, but my Lenovo settings app does not have a power for the Conservation Mode setting. I have the status of power, always on USB, rest of battery meter, but no Conservation Mode.

Does anyone know how to access the Conservation Mode in Windows 10? Or does anyone know how to get the same functionality via another way? Thanks in advance for your help.

As far as I know, this is not possible in Windows 10. This feature has been removed. I'm sorry.

  • Disable the "Now playing" mode in WMP12

    Hello.
I'm not like this new mode of "Now playing" feature. It would be nice if I could just forget about it and never use it, always being in a normal mode, but when I open a multimedia file the default mode is "Now playing". Can I change somehow?
    In advance, thank you Alex.

    Hi pokrishka,

Can be used for playback in full-screen mode or mode of the Player library.

Full screen makes videos, DVDS and photos fill the entire screen when you play them.
1 display a picture or play a video, TV show, DVD, or song.
    2. click on the button full screen display in the lower-right corner of the player, or press Alt + Enter.
