• M7-k211dx envy: install Intel MEI don't

  (I hope I'm in the section appropriate for that matter).

  The system is Envy m7-k211dx comes with Win 8.1 and is automatically upgraded to Win 10.  Been use it a little more than a year and as far as I know everything works fine.

  Do the system dual boot for a 2nd OS which is ultimate Win 7-64.  Who completed and works fine - except for 1 small problem.

  In Win 7 Device Manager displays a small yellow error exclamation point to a device called 'controller PCI of communication Simple '.  Checking properties said that no driver is installed for this device.  It shows that it is bus 0, device #22.  Under properties/details/Hardware ID that shows 9CBA VEN 8086 and DEV.  I think that the titles back to the Intel MEI - Management Engine Interface driver.

  Go to the support page hp.com pilot for the m7-k211dx, I downloaded and installed sp66098. Or at least I tried.  Shortly after starting the installation comes back with the error message: "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements to install the software.

  It seems that it is unlikely that the problem is hardware related because HP has put W7 drivers download and it works perfectly well in the trunk of the W10.  So I suspect it is some SW is related issue that causes the installation to think the computer does not meet the minimum.

  No idea on how to find what causes the installation to fail?

  The installation fails because the driver configuration information file contains no support for the ID of the material that you have posted.

  So we have to find the right driver that supports the ID you have posted.

  I just downloaded and installed Firefox 4.o and it does not work properly. I am running Windows 7 SP1 on a 64-bit Alienware Laptop i7 cpu 1.2 Ghz, 8 GB of RAM.

  Black boxes cover the text when the mouse passes over it; Some Web pages appear completely black; other flash between black and normal. I can't see tabs when I hover over them (they appear in black). The scroll bar on the left does not. It is very difficult for this type because every time I hit a strike the textblock turns black. It is also very difficult to move to the bottom of the screen.

  The problems seem to be exactly the same as when I downloaded the mine field.

  Can I restore to 3.6?

• HP Pavilion x 360: back issues of sleep and stop; MEI driver moved

  I have upgraded to Windows 10 last summer and, like many people, I had sleep and close issues. The computer wouldn't wake him up after he went to sleep and when I stop the computer the light remained on and the fan will continue running. I was able to fix by updating the graphics card and the driver of MEI.

  Windows has released a new update a few days ago and it has been applied automatically to my computer. Now, sleep and shutdown questions have returned.  This time, the graphics card is fully updated, but now I can't downgrade my MEI driver back to version 8.1 of Windows ( 9.5.24.1790 1.5 M ).   Open Device Manager, expand the 'System devices' section, and then find "Intel Management Engine interface", double click it and go to the driver tab, and then click on "roll back driver" button, it will come back to the previous driver.

  You can do most any device in the device manager driver.

  If roll back driver button is gray, then there is no older driver to restore.

• Installation problems drivers MEI for HP Compaq 6000 Pro MT

  The OS is Windows 7 x 64.

  An unknown device in device of systems management is registered as VEN_8086 DEV_3048.  I think it fits with the Management Engine Interface drivers.  I tried to install the HECI drivers on the site of HP (SP45411).  It installs the software, but the installation fails with "an unknown error has occurred - will leave Setup."

  When you try to manually install the driver I get: "Windows encountered a problem installing the software driver for your device."

  My next step is to try the drivers directly from the Intel site someone at - it suggestions?

  Based on this error, I found that it is actually a very common problem with these types of drivers and Windows 7 x 64 systems.  The long solution is to remove completely the driver files, temporary locations, and for MEI registry entries.  I couldn't be arsed with it so I just transferred the image to the WDS server and manually install drivers instead of the program installation and then rebooted the machine, now works.

  There is a updated driver of MEI.  I don't know if that will fix the problem or not well.

• Sid Meiers Gettysburg! is not a valid Win32

  That's what I'm greeted by trying to play Gettysburg of Meier.

  It took forever to find a way to install the game to start (Kernel32.dll errors) but I was able to install the game. I tried my Windows compatibility program, also tried as admin, tweaking the compatibility settings and the download of the update of XP of Gettysburg (which, with me under Vista, it may be, was not the best idea)

  So, what can I do? Anyone? This isn't for me, it of for my father who has really loves this game and doesn't really have much else is happening in his life. Since getting this computer, he was with "Antinem" that it just doesn't feel as good as Gettysburg.

  I got the AE 2500 after the a N750 Linksys dual-band wireless router.

  the router is soft, but to my surprise the internal Wireless NIC does not support 5 GHz networks.

  I own an alienware m17x running win7 64 bit home premuim.

  at bost performance I had the USB AE2500 adapter, when I plug in the Device Manager recognize as "Unknown device" and no matter what I do on the Web, nor what I download Linksys it used to recognize and install the adapter.

  When I thought that maybe the adapter is broken, I have a 4 year old with win7 lenovo machine that had no problem what so ever grateful and the installation of the adapter and conect to my 5 GHz Wireless.

  in a nut shell it annoyed me.

• Problem updating display on Alienware Area-51 m15X Vista drivers

  Hello. Recently, I had a virus on my Alienware Area-51 m15X. It finally did my restore my computer to its factory site. Most of the drivers was missing. I reinstalled my wireless card driver and the graphics driver, but the graphics driver does not work correctly. I uninstalled and went on the Web from NVIDIA site to reinstall the appropriate driver, and it still doesn't work right. I used Driver Sweeper to clean all the files on my HARD drive that are associated with the NVIDIA device in safe mode. I reinstalled all the and restarted my computer and I still get the error message. I can't send it because it is not under the manufacturer's warranty, and I have little money to send it to Best Buy Geek Squad. Please, if there is a way to solve this problem, even though it requires the formatting of my HARD drive, I'll be ready to do so.

  I solved the problem. For future use, if you own an Alienware or use the NVIDIA 8600 M GT card, uninstall the driver using Device Manager and use the driver Sweeper to remove all traces of the driver. Once this done, do not restart, but go on the alienware website and download the NVIDIA driver (you must know your operating system, ect. ect. for the driver) and install it. Windows will say that his signature is unreadable. Click on install anyway. reboot and your laptop must be as new :D

  Hi, im having trouble finding the exact chipset of the Alienware 51 i7 x 3770. I bought a new case, the food and the gpu for the project. I also jumped the gun and the waste of money on a motherboard with a lga1150 socket that I thought would work, but was wrong in the end. • Alienware 13 fan does not slow down

  After it cools, unless I open nivdia Control Panel does not slow down the fan Alienware 13, once the nivida control panel open the fan then starts to slow down.

  Update November 2016: the latest Nvidia driver solves the problem, fans now work as expected.

  However, I can't the virtualization to work. I looked in the BIOS for the option to activate it, but there is nothing on virtualization.

  CPU (i7-4770) mine certainly supports virtualization, so why the BIOS limit this feature?

  So the problem was not in the BIOS, but it was in Windows 10 instead.

  Hyper-V is turned on by default, and I didn't notice. (Because I never used it..)

  If the solution is to turn off Hyper-v. You can do this via cmd by this command:

  bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

  I am considering buying an Alienware 15 R3 (new version of 2016), with pre-installed Windows 10 Pro. The version I'm looking at has a 256 GB SSD more 1 TB HARD drive. I know that the 2015 R2 version supports replacing the internal SSD by a new m2 2280 SSD, but I don't know about the version R3 2016. I have a few questions:

  (1) can I get the 256 GB SSD and replace it with an another m2 SSD NVMe based SSD (most likely the Samsung 960 Pro 2 to).

  (2) as the SSD that comes with the laptop will be the BONES and other drivers, what is the best way to reinstall it on the replacement of 2 TB SSD whenever I swap discs on?

  (3) 2016 R3 supports is?

  (2) you can clone the drive or just do a manual installation.

  (3) it does.

  The R3 has 2 slots for readers of m2 in height, you could take advantage of that for the cloning process.

  I've been following this BSOD issue related to SupportAssist and went up to declare and work with PC-DOCTOR to try to find a solution to this (i.e. gave them crash logs, memory.dmp file, etc.). Long story short, I got a response back from them email 24/03/16, who informed me that a new version of SupportAssist would become available on 03/25/16.

  Guess what? I think THEY FINALLY FIXED! I downloaded SupportAssist version 1.2.6793.01, and ran Express Mode, Mode of Stress and successfully expanded Mode! No BSOD. No crashes. No errors. I ran various scenarios:

  -Ran immediately after DLing without rebooting. Worked successfully without BSOD.
  -A ran after the closure of my lip and let the computer laptop 'sleep' for a few hours. Returned, pulled up SupportAssist and once more ran all tests without problem and tested the other menus, options, etc. within the stability programme. Everything is good.
  -Stop the laptop; left for a few hours. He pulled up, started and re-run again all 3 tests and played around with various options/menu/etc. All successful. No BSOD.

  My test is in only 3 days. I'll give you another update as soon as I went a week with a stable system. However, all this looks like promising review before each of us w / this question could not keep same SupportAssist on our laptop because it would lead to term to BSOD if we ran it or not.

  If it is true fixed - YESSSS! All the hard work, frustration and patience has finally paid off for us.

  (BTW: this can troubleshoot BSOD for several laptops Alienware w / Support help - 15 thru 18 series (i.e. 17 R2 R3, R2 R3 15, 14, 18, R3, etc.))

• Cannot install (17 R3) Alienware command center

  I recently had to wipe my HD and so I lost the Alienware Command Center. My problem is that I can't find a version that works on my laptop, every single version, I tried to download tells me that is not compatible with my system. Can anyone help?

  I tried to rename it to a Zip file, I installed all the .NET frameworks, I did the update of Windows, I've done everything I can think, but I can't get this install. I have the newly revised 17 R3 (2015).
