• Alienware windows alpha 10 and alienfx - when it will get fxed?

  When dell/alienware will fix alienFx to support windows 10? I have an alpha I bought last spring that I have upgraded to windows 10. AlienFx does not work with windows 10. Dell/Alienware does not list alienFx or center of orders under downloads for windows 10, only windows 8.

  I see that they are now shiping Alienware Alphas with 10 preloaded windows. What they use to control the system of lighting with those?

  I reset my computer because I wanted a new start, after I did my lights on my laptop alienware will not work and I no longer have AlienFX or Control Centre which allows me to change the color and leave me no more "go light" or "off". I need the download for it or what ever, so I can get it back.

  I recently purchased the Alienware r2 x 51 since the Dell, all etc updates website So it is on Windows 8 or 8.1, whatsoever, in any case I went to watch to change the light on my computer system and could not understand how do, I went to google to help as always and he said it was a program called AlienFX, but no program with any similar name was found on my computer , I was wondering if there is a new program for new computers or if it is not compatible with windows 8 or if I am the intruder and just do not have it?

• Windows 10 AlienFX unable to switch fast profiles

  Minor problem after update to Windows 10 - the Alienware AlienFX program is no longer able to make the quick switch of color profiles in the right click menu of the system tray.  Changing profiles directly through the main application user interface works very well.

  When you try to make a quick change, an error dialog box appears with the following text:

  Access to the path 'C:\Users\\Documents\AlienFX\Themes\Quick Change.ath' is denied.

  It seems that there may be some differences between Win7 and Win10 authorization, but do not know what would need to be updated to fix this.  Are there plans for an update of the application itself to support Win10?

  No help from Dell or Microsoft, I found the problem here.  I'd be willing to bet that you are also impossible to save all the files in your directory "C:\Users\" either, including Documents, photos, movies, etc. subfolders.  The problem is actually related to OneDrive, whose Win10 installation process actively encourages users to activate.  Unfortunately, doing so also live all your folder permissions and the only fire only way to solve the problem includes disabling OneDrive, and manually adding you return to the list of users who are allowed access to your own record.

  You don't have to do the full procedure, described in the post, just the steps for disabling OneDrive and add you to the list of permissions for the folder.  I checked that this solves the problem of permission that has also plagued the AlienFX program.

  We NEED Alienware to push Microsoft on a fix for this problem; they won't listen to individuals to make a priority to get a fix.  Absolutely, cela MUST come from their OEM partners.  It seems that Alienware has decided on a a response under the strategy of Microsoft here unfortunately, same wire so I did not have faith that everything will come from this.

  I strongly urge you, if you have a system 'supported' to call their helpline and make specific reference to this thread. This question needs visibility, and we need support from Dell/Alienware to get this problem.

• Aurora R4 temporary sensors at 0 degrees; real time go above 100 c when running the Diagnostics

  I got my R4 for about a year and a half. It is running Windows 8.1. I had a few problems before with fan running at max, slow startup and malfunctioning lights. relocation of command center fixed. This time, it did not work. Command Center displays all sensors to 0 degrees, but HWMonitor it idling at 80 c with fans at 3 k, 5-4, 5 k RPM. I tried to run Dell Diagnostics, but temperatures reached 102 c, so I stopped it. I have tried to make the closing down, power, startup method.

  "Correct procedure to reinstall Command Center on the Area-51 and Aurora systems"

  "To correctly reinstall Command Center on your Area-51 or Aurora systems, please follow these steps:

  1. uninstall command from the control panel > programs and features.

  2. open my computer, click folder and Search Options, choose the view tab and select Show hidden files and folders. Click OK.

  3. go to C:/Program Data/Alienware/Command Center/Thermal Controls and remove the Profile.xml file.

  4. go in C:/Users /AppData, Local, Alienware, Alienware AlienFX/themes and delete all the files in *.ath.

  5 make sure that the Device Manager does not all unknown devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers. If there are unknown devices read the note below.

  6. restart the computer.

  7 download the last available version of Command Center and run it.

  8. complete the installation of Alien Command Center to answer Yes to all dialog popups. During installation, the firmware of the Master I/O Board will be updated. Do not stop the computer right now. If the firmware update process fails, contact Alienware support.

  9 restart the computer.

  10. check that there are no unknown device under Bus USB controllers. If there are unknown devices read the note below.

  11 launch AlienCommand Center.

  Note: Is there any unknown devices in Device Manager, or no device is found please proceed as follows:

  a. check that the Master i/o board USB cable is correctly connected to the motherboard and Master i/o board.

  b. drain MB power for a minute"

  Drain the power of the computer. This process is to:

  • Turn off computer
  • Unplug the power cable from wall and the battery (for laptops)
  • Press on & press and hold power for about 20 seconds (the computer is not expected to turn on)
  • Reconnect the power cable
  • Turn on the system

  Hi all

  Start a week or two ago I had a problem with lighting effects on my Alienware Alpha. When I first put it on the end of function bit turns in a few seconds they turn off. The only way have to stay on is to start on the office and go in the software AlienFX and change the color and click on apply / save. Everyone knows this? I tried to reinstall the command center by using the download page of the Alpha pilot, but has nothing good.

  For those who have a similar problem, I have this problem. I found a post on the forums Alienware arena, indicating that there is a problem with the PC things standby in console mode. Basically everything what I had to do was to start in console mode, select 'Sleep' in the power options, wait a few seconds and to wake up the PC. My lights work fine now.

• (Redirected) Alienware X 51 R2 vs Alienware Alpha

  Just wondering what is the best, mid-range graphics, games experince, speed, performance, etc..

  Looking at the high side of range of these two machines; However, the Alpha with i7 is much cheaper than the X 51 R2. Although, I'm not too sure about the graphics card being the alpha generation custom Vin 2 GB chip, I think. A few tips will be appreciated.

  I'm looking for comments and suggestions. I just bought 2 i5 Alienware Alpha for my 2 boys. They have screens VGA, that they can use, or they can use their HDMI TV. If we have to abandon the VGA they finally to have replacements for TV. Or, we leave only TVs and get new monitors or TVs for the Alienware.

  Someone at - it suggestions? (Cannot afford monitors suggested because of the purchase of the consoles).

  Good so I bought an alpha alienware on ebay. It worked fine until just now. I contacted the support to try to get it fixed. Was told I need a warranty transfer of the former owner to myself. Its still in warranty for 35 days more Dell... I contacted the chat and they said that they transferred to my name tag. So I called support since the tag was supposdely in my name now. Low and this is right before they were going to order a new motherboard for it. The support agent (phone) said that the mandate was not yet in my name as I was told before, and it cannot do unless its in my name. So yes im confused now.

  Yet once, at the start I tried to do online transfer of warranty even if everything I know about the person that I bought is the two bills that I got on ebay and paypal to purchase which was a few months ago (I bought it originally used). I just put this info in but still no answer... I sent the seller and still no response.

  The funny is that the guy that I spoke on the live chat it's everything in my name now. Yet when I called by phone, the Lady said that it was not let him apply for the permuted motherboard. and that he (the previous owner warranty) was especially "in white. Yet when I tried to register, it says its already registered... and won't let me put my info.  IDK im so confused. I want to just my machine to have a new motherboard (questions, it's complicated freezing) :( If anyone out there at dell can help me... Whenever I try to send I NEVER get an answer... ugghh. I have my file number if that helps. I have my tag number, tag express, heelp etc... Please before my warranty runs out...

• Alienware Alpha flashing yellow lights when it is off. How to fix?

  Hello, I had problems with my Alpha recently. This problem started occurring in my 3rd week of me having my alpha (which is too bad.). When I went to turn it off or reboot the system, it would not seem to come back. I tried to use the method of draining power and eventually fix it temporarily, but the problem would be more severe and would be more difficult to turn back. Mine was flashing in a sequence of five lights flashing yellow when he tried to be turned on again. Do I have to send it back or Alienware has a solution for this?

  Sorry for the delay with my post was out and about. However, I found a surprising solution to the situation. I'm the type to brag and see how I like to compare the specifications with my "Geek" friends I like to take my alpha in their home and play a game with them. I didn't really invest in one of those alpha bags because I thought that a bag of books can do the same thing. It turns out I was wrong. My father who is tech savvy thought that we should try to take a look at the alpha ourselves. So we checked the warranty sticker for zero and he wasn't there and we proceeded to disassemble. We took out the hard drive then we went we removed the chassis. We have then the guts and everything that we've done is we wanted to make sure that everything was intact (we didn't send back see how it would be tedious and an inconvenience.). WE DID THAT PLACE ALL IN. REAR AND REMOVE THE STICKS MEMORY I went to plug it back and works perfectly well. Now, I'm typing this from two reboots of the alpha, and it seems to go a lot. I guess we'll have to see what brings the future... in any case, I'll keep the guys/girls updated you and tell you if it's worse here.

• Alienware X 51 R3 AlienFX will go "Light".

  I recently bought an Alienware X 51 desktop computer. So far, the computer works fine, except when I put the AlienFx lighting on mode 'go Dark. ' Since then, I could not re - turn on the lights, no matter how many times I click on the "fire go" button. I ran the AlienFX Tester several times and whenever I do, the lights come back and stay until I have shut down my computer, but they stop again as soon as I turn it back on. Does anyone have an idea what is happening? Thank you.

  In the right corner of the Windows taskbar, you can have a little alien head icon. If you click on this icon, you should see a few options here. One of the options is 'Dim lighting areas. Try clicking on this option to see what is happening. We have a Dell article that explains the different settings you can check when there are problems with the AlienFX lighting. • (Redirected) Alienware Alpha delivered games missing

  Hi all I bought an Alienware Alpha back in June however I do not have to receive the games delivered with the system when I added my Steam login to the first installation.  I suspect that the machine has been used by the shop staff JBHiFi I bought it and they may have bought the keys innappropriately.  How can I correct this situation?

• Alienware Alpha HDMI in keyboard shortcut does not

  Hello

  Just my Alpha last week and the shortcut key for the HDMI in function via the Alienware command center does not work. The PC simply does not recognize the shortcut key, if it is the default value (CTRL + SHIFT + H) or a custom one.

  Now, the HDMI devices I plugged in are all supported. I know there is a button that switches to HDMI, but I can't go back to the PC without having to disconnect the hdmi cable.

  I have i7 with Windows 10 Alpha.

  I'd love any help I can get, because this feature is something that I could use really often.

  Thanks for confirming this. Try reinstalling the Alienware Command Center application and the HiveMind Interface software. First of all uninstall from the programs and features list, restart the system and install the first command center, then the HiveMind software (reboot the system if she invites you to do after installation). After doing this, try the shortcut key again to confirm if it works.
