Alienware M18x R2: Loud beep when starting

Sometimes it turns on and sometimes it isn't.  There simply BEEP BEEP BEEP one pause pause until I turn it off.  The Alienware logo does not appear in this case.

I believe that this way is a bad mother or a corrupted BIOS or something.  How can I determine who he is?  I don't have a warranty so I hope it's something that I can fix it myself, but if it is the motherboard, I guess I have no choice to the send it.  Anyone know the cost if it is the motherboard?

Thank you.

First thing to do is unplug, remove or disconnect the battery and hold the power for 30 seconds button.  Remove and reinstall the bars of memory.  Try to turn on again.

If you get the same model single-beep, the motherboard should be replaced.  They seem to run about $350 (parts - People.com);  If you don't replace it yourself, add another $100 or more with a workshop for a total of somewhere around $450.

  • Beep when starting and past in startup mode

Hello. I currently have problems associated with the startup mode. When I turn on my laptop, the laptop starts beeping loud and it automatically goes in boot by itself mode.  I, not having as much knowledge about the technology and do not know which of these options to choose from, I just pressed the Esc key and then my laptop automatically goes to the normal start screen and beeps constantly. I did no changes to my laptop and it's bugging me. BTW, my laptop is Lenovo G480 running on Windows 7. Is there a way I can disable this automatic start mode? Please help me.

    NN

The model of the beeps should help you diagnose the problem.  Sound signals are specific to the computer so when you find the boss go to Lenovo (or Google search of startup beep sense) and check the most likely cause

  • Audible alarm (beep) when starting a satellite A60 742

    Hey!

When I try to start the laptop, a sound comes from the speakers and it stops after a few seconds.
I don't know what the problem... Please, need help!

    Thank you very much!!

In my opinion, the beep was caused by Power-on-self-test (POST).
The STATION is running in the background and checks your hardware to ensure that everything works correctly.

The sound signal is a BIOS error code and it seems as if a hardware failure has been detected and in most cases it s a malfunction of the motherboard :(

I think you don't have a lot of possibilities.
In my opinion, you need assistance from EPA.
The technician may test the computer laptop and could know what's exactly wrong and what causes this problem.

In the worst case, you will need to replace the motherboard and is not cheap.
You know, everything is about money, you can easily get a new motherboard, but I guess you will have to pay about 350-400 euros.
Therefore, you should consider some other possible solutions IE a laptop second hand.

  • Windows 7 beeps when start

    Hi all

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit machine, and I have benn, noting that it has become slower. I tried to order something and when I put my contact information, I couldn't click on the text box and the computer still does not respond. I rebooted the machine, and then he started making noises beeps for a while, and he then started normally afterwards.
I also noticed that my mouse flickering os.

Beep at startup of the motherboard BIOS and indicates a hardware problem, not a Windows problem.

The number of beeps will suggest what the problem. You will need the motherboard manual to decipher the beeps, but the manuals do not always give the required information.
The problem could be a power supply fault.
  • Loud beep when I hit

I bought a Lenovo X 200 second hand, and it works fine. But it's annoying me. Whenever I type as say, an article or a long email or something - that is a long text - the phone would beep in the middle of my typing. And I was not able to understand what triggered it. I tried to type with the plugged AC adapter, typing without the power adapter connected, and it's always the same old thing. (As I type this message, it does beep once in the middle of the strikes of the last sentence)

Anyone know what could be the cause of this?

I thought it may have something to do with some of my Palm based on fingerprint software, scanner nearby. So I have disabled scanning fingerprint on my laptop. But still, it will beep.

Argh! It's quite annoying especially when I'd rather do my work late at night and it keeps beeping like that every now and then without visible cause or the frequency of the ringing - I'm worried he'll wake up my baby even though I work in the living room and he sleeps in the bedroom. It's that strong.

FYI, it beeps beep - a total of 5 times now since I started typing this post...

Any advice would be most appreciated. Thank you!

You know what, its okay, I think I found a solution for this. I went into BIOS mode at startup and is went to Config and disabled the keyboard beeps. Told there that keyboard beeps occur when the impossible key combinations are entered or something... so I guess that either I was typing too fast or you continue to press the keys I shouldn't be pressing when I type my documents. • inspiron9400 loud beep

I've seen other posts/solutions for this problem of "beep", but they were not for the inspiron9400. I am running Windows XP. Even when my sounds are set to "mute", and my sound scheme is set to "No Sounds", I always get a LOUD beep when you use a Site management program when it opens a new window ('Report already exists', or 'Report will be Read Only'. The Site support team manager said just to put my computer on mute, but no luck with that. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you.

  • Satellite L500-14Z starts to beep when it reaches 10% of battery

    Greetings,

As I installed the sound card driver on my laptop, it always starts to beep when it reaches 10% battery in every 10 seconds. It is not a voice of Windows, but I tried to look for the sound controls and even the BIOS to disable this thing. It may be useful in some cases, but I really want to get rid of him or to use only if the screen is off and I do not see the level of battery charge.

Overall, the question is, how do I disable or control the sound signal after the 10% battery level without uninstall the Realtek audio driver?

    Yours Sincerely,

    Fifty

    Hello

    You can disable it in:
Start > Control Panel > Sound

There, click the sounds tab in sound properties

Choose in the small window called sound and critical battery alarm choose no sound.

Apply the changes and restart the laptop.

  • Fast beep then starts when you start XPS 8700

so I just got a dell xps 8700 and immediately improved, the 650 Watt PSU and GPU to a gtx 980, when I start the machine he has has a very quick chirp and then starts as usual. given that I don't normally it starts the minute I got it that I don't know if this is normal or not, I think that I probably wouldn't put in updates before you start it at least once. Can anyone confirm if this is normal? or does that mean? I don't think that it s the code beeps it starts very well after the beep.

What version of BIOS is installed on this system?

Not sure if this is your problem but some previous versions of BIOS makes a quick beep at startup which was perfectly normal and indicated the JOB was complete. But it has been be mistaken one - beep error code meaning "card mother failure."  For later versions of the BIOS deleted the normal POST beep.

As stated by Jennifer, you will need to restore the material to its factory condition to find out if your upgrades are originally the beep at the STATION. This is why it's always a good idea to test a new system first, before making any major hardware upgrade.

  • Alienware m18x does not turn on

Hi, my alienware m18x sudently closed today. When I press the Start button, it won't turn. Can someone help me! PS: When I plugged the captain, the led turn off.

    Hello!

Is the laptop didn't light not at all or is AlienFX of light or fan activity? Have you tried the adapter only and the battery only?

    powa8

I already tried the hard reset, the thing that you have to press the button for 30 sec to 1 min and it does not work...

Just to clarify, did you remove the AC adapter and the battery before doing so? If not, try again after the correct steps: turn the system off, disconnect the AC adapter / CC, remove the battery, press on and press and hold power for 30 seconds, reconnect the power supply and the battery and then try to turn it back on.

  • Satellite X 200 - 25 H - 3 beeps on start up and wont start

Hi guys, I'm looking for advice a little before coming into contact with Tosh, it might be something I can fix myself if all goes well.

I have a slight problem with my laptop at the moment. I turned on this morning and received 3 beeps on startup (more silent beep pause then pause loud beep then a beep loud) and does not start. I have the power, battery lights and waiting now on and fans seem to be swirling very slightly but I can't POST or the Toshiba screen to appear. On the surface, it looks like a hardware failure, the thing is in the years I've had this laptop, I didn't have any problems what so ever.

He was a weather close last night, the error seems to appear from nowhere.

No idea which could indicate these 3 beeps? I had a quick glance this morning IE re seat RAM and drives hard but I got tired of trying to figure out which of the 100 live more I had to cancel to the GPU and CPU haha. Looking for a little guidance.

    Kind regards
    Tony

    Hello

I guess you have a Phoenix BIOS.
Here are a few for different BIOS BIOS beep codes:
    http://wiki.WinBoard.org/index.php/BIOS_Beep_Codes

Unfortunately; 3 beeps are not mentioned maybe you should check the beep code again.

However, POST errors are always hardware problem. Maybe it s RAM problem.
Check it; Remove a module and check if you could start using a module only.

Otherwise, it could be a motherboard problem and it would be the worst case.
