  • Photosmart 5520:5520 won't print black

    Hello

I just installed all new cartridges (they are real HP). But it does not print black.

I went so all the help which is suggersted in the forum. But, no luck.

I think that the print head is probably bad.  I spent about $70.00 for four cartridge 564XL.

I'm too lazy on the purchase of a new black cartridge.

Also, when I try to scan the alignment page, it says not found alignment page.

It's more than 3-4 years. So, I probably need to buy a new.   HP maintenance tool detects any problems.

I just wish I have not wasted $70.00 for the cartridges.  A new HP printr costs less than...

    Kind regards

    Sery

  • DeskJet 1050A: HP Deskjet 1050 has won't print black

I've tried everything I can think of, but it still refuses to print in black.

I have the official HP (301 XL) ink cartridges that are only a few months, purchased in August 2015 and used only once or twice since their.  Still almost full.

I tried to clean the heads via the HP Support Assistant at least 5 times.

I tried to let the printer 'stand' as suggested FAQ, but a week later he managed only a few words scratched before giving up completely new.

I tried to remove and reinstall the cartridges as shown on http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/Deskjet-1050-J410-will-not-print-black-ink/td-p/4397932 , but that has no effect.

My color cartridges are still working fine but its always black that falls down.  I had this problem last year too, but assumed it was due to the old ink and bought the new cartridge but its happening already after 5 months.

    Any other suggestiongs?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

In the paper here troubleshooting steps can help solve the black does not print on your printer Deskjet 1050 a.

It soulds like you have done most of them already.  It is possible that the capping system (which protects the print head while this isn't printing) does not work, which allows the print cartridge to dry.  In this case, it can help soak printing cartrdige in hot water.  Take a cup of coffee and put about 1 "of hot (but not boiling) water in it.  Drop the black cartrdige nozzles in the water and let stand for 10 minutes.  After letting it soak the printhead remove and pat dry gently the electrical contacts with a wipe free of fluff dry.  A clean coffee filter works well for this.

  • HP3520 won't print black

I love this printer. He has been a reliable workhorse, but today, it would not print black. I bought a new cartridge, but still no go. When something like this happened in the old days, I would use a little alcohol on a cotton ball to clean the cartridge, but these 564 cartridges are not this way.

I took the cartridge and looked at the container of ink in the printer. Of course, it's a piece of lattice and it was clogged up. I used a baby medicine syringe to deposit some drops of alcohol on the mesh and absorb the alcohol with a q. total quantity of alcohol was maybe 1/2 teaspoon.

The glow of the mesh, the flow of ink and I still love my HP printer. I won't be responsible by someone of another printer, but mine is very well after this treatment.

Thanks for the comments and glad to hear that it's back to work

  • Photosmart Premium 309 a won't print black

My Photosmart Premium 309 a printer will not print black text. Just imagined colors.

I tried new cartridges (twice - at great expense!) head cleaning, cleaning deep head, aligning the head and tried to soak the printhead in hot water several times now and then cleaning and deep cleaning again and then yet another new series of cartridges, still no black - not a pinch!

Would it be a mistake to electrical connection with the contacts? Or is the print head itself a goner - seems such a simple plastic device, ok electronics in contacts can be more complex, but not much to go wrong.

I don't think I have done something to damage the print head when the occurreed first problem, but with all the plug and put back and soaking in hot water (let dry naturally) I can't guarantee that it is not damaged because, although I was careful and everything seems ok.

I am also puzzled as to where ink is going on because the black cartridges I used trying to solve this problem have certainly been empty but the ink is not reaching the paper - looks like the blooming thing could swim ink now but it seems pretty clean!

    Any advice welcome.

    Hi @StuartG48UK,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I read your post and see that the black is not printing. I want to help you.

  • Photosmart 210 a: won't print black after installing new print heads

Hello, I bought and installed a new printhead. It will print color but not black.  They were all new cartridges when the print head went down.  the tools to say all the cartridges are full, please help.

    Hey there @LMACE!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I see that your printer is not printing black once the print head had been replaced.  I would be more then happy to provide you with some suggestions that can make things work again.  The first thing I would suggest is to remove the cartridges and printheads the printer and manually clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and the printer.  It is possible ink sprayed on the copper contacts causing a bad connection, when the new print head has been installed.  If the printhead is not getting a good connection, you may notice messages on the printer error and poor print quality.

To clean manually the printhead in the B210a Photosmart click here: manually clean the print head

If please, after back and let me know how it goes!

  • OfficeJet 4630: 4630 Officejet won't print black ink

My Officejet 4630 is 6 months old. I bought it when my previous HP printer (which was more than 2 years) stopped printing black ink. This printer is doing the same thing. I searched the forums and the internet for a solution, nothing works.

I just changed the black ink cartridge today because he missed. I put in a geniune, brand new, HP black ink cartridge. Print the page alignment and the black ink was very uneven/faded. I scanned the pagae alignment and it has 'failed '. Printed a new alignment page, no black ink at all on this one. Then of course, the scan which has as well. I went through so many pages of reports to the printer, print quality, printer alignment pages, it's RIDICULOUS. I took the cartridge out and put it again. The printer off, he turned his back. NOTHING WORKS. This printer, which I paid a lot of money for, turns out to be useless!

I'm NOT going to 'send this home' which seems to be the only solution I've found that I have not yet tried. If there is no solution for this problem that I can do myself so this printer is crap and I don't want that. And if this is really the case, I will never buy an HP product again because this is the SECOND time I had this problem. What is an unreliable product and brand.

If anyone has a solution for this, I would be acknowledging the entry.

I have exhausted the alignment and clean the print head options with no fix. However, I found a page on HP (a little hidden and I can not find yet) who said to get out the black cartridge and place the face upward all night. I did that last night, put in this morning and boom, new black ink printing!

  • C4795: Won't print black

I have 3 HP printers, including the C4795 above - none of them no longer print in black. This is just twisted. I tried the alignment, cleaning heads and everything recommended.

Gray is at least print on the C4795, others nothing print.

HP Officejet 4500 G510n-z, C4280, C4795 printer and none of them no longer print black. Is it a default of family with HP printers?

I try to print a different Windows 7 64 - bit PCs and an Apple MAC - it doesn't matter - black does not print ANY of these printers.

using the provided video, soak the cartridge in hot water for about 15-20 minutes has toured.  Printers are now black printing again and very well. Thanks for the video.

Printer cannot print black ink. I ran the cycle of cleaning several times. The cartridge is new. Gets moderate use with periods where it is not used. The printer is out of warranty. • HP 5510 e won't print black

First, it started with a small black cartridge. I replaced it with a new one. The test page will not print black. I followed all the instructions on how to correct this problem (including the replacement of ALL the cartrdiges) and I can't always print in black. I got to the last step that says product service. It is not under warranty. There must be other things to try.

You can try to clean the contacts inside the printhead manually to ensure that the accumulation is not a problem that prevents the printer works properly. Pages 33 and 34 of the Manual shows a way to make cleaning and lists, which provide for use in this procedure. After that, if it is the document that you used to solve the problem of the printer, the next step would be replacement of the product.

If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call. Technical Support case HP formula call: https://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/phoneInput?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5061082

If it is not in warranty as you mentioned in the post above. You can watch in the HP upgrade program. This is where you can look for in buying a printer refurbished at a reduced price, which will be accompanied by a full factory warranty. The number for USA and Canada customers to call is 1-800-474-6836. Other clients can find the details here on this site.
