DeskJet 1050A: HP Deskjet 1050 has won't print black

I've tried everything I can think of, but it still refuses to print in black.

I have the official HP (301 XL) ink cartridges that are only a few months, purchased in August 2015 and used only once or twice since their.  Still almost full.

I tried to clean the heads via the HP Support Assistant at least 5 times.

I tried to let the printer 'stand' as suggested FAQ, but a week later he managed only a few words scratched before giving up completely new.

I tried to remove and reinstall the cartridges as shown on http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/Deskjet-1050-J410-will-not-print-black-ink/td-p/4397932 , but that has no effect.

My color cartridges are still working fine but its always black that falls down.  I had this problem last year too, but assumed it was due to the old ink and bought the new cartridge but its happening already after 5 months.

Any other suggestiongs?

In the paper here troubleshooting steps can help solve the black does not print on your printer Deskjet 1050 a.

It soulds like you have done most of them already.  It is possible that the capping system (which protects the print head while this isn't printing) does not work, which allows the print cartridge to dry.  In this case, it can help soak printing cartrdige in hot water.  Take a cup of coffee and put about 1 "of hot (but not boiling) water in it.  Drop the black cartrdige nozzles in the water and let stand for 10 minutes.  After letting it soak the printhead remove and pat dry gently the electrical contacts with a wipe free of fluff dry.  A clean coffee filter works well for this.

    what you did may limit the possible cause. at least we know that this problem is caused by excel, below is a workaround solution that you can try:

    Looking at the 'Print Preview', confirms is the black appear or not.

    More top issue will be useful for further refinement.

    Copy / paste from the old file by excellent:

    1. create a new excel file

    2 paste special

    3 'text' only

    4 repeat the format will help.

    I have a HP's Photosmart b109n who suddenly stopped printing black ink. All other colors are printing very well.

    I tried all of the suggestions that I can find in various forums, including cleaning & advanced cleaning, switching off & replacing ink, realign the printer etc..

    Someone at - it any other suggestions. I am currently working at home, so my printer is important to me.

    Happy to say that my problem has been resolved. I repeated the same steps several times that I had already made (including an update of the HP software) and my printer has suddenly started printing black. I don't know what was the real problem!

    Let's try this steps;

    If there is static interference, or fittings loose with the product, this can result in the bands or lines in the copy by fax or scan. To resolve this issue, check the connections of the product, and then reset the product.
  • HP Deskjet 1050 suddenly won't let me not crop the borders

    I got this Deskjet 1050 for a long time and it has always worked without problem. Suddenly, it won't let me adjust the borders on the pictures. I try to crop and save some pictures of my high school Yearbook. I did several times in the past with no problems whatsoever. Of course, with a directory, you should never close the lid down, but it remains always cropped photos directory in the past, so why suddenly prohibited?

    Instead of the usual line right with arrows at both ends, when you move the border, I am a smaller image "squareish" who will not let me enter the border and drag. BUT, if I just put a single photo or a junk mail envelope in and the scanner, I can crop very well. The only difference is that the lid is closed completely.

    If this quirk would be normal by its design, I would say very well, but why all of a sudden after all these years?

    I would appreciate it so any ideas you useful people.

    Hi dwarf, please provide the screenshots.

    I had tried the scan on a printer of laboratory with a single document, and the other with the lid open and was able to crop the picture in both directions. So I do not know why your software is not allowing the harvest. It shouldn't make a difference if you scan a single page or a brochure for the scanning software allows you to crop the image. It might be software related. Try the different settings of the software to see if that makes a difference.

    When you scan the document, you are by clicking on the icon of the culture and appropriate on the right of small black squares, to crop the image?

    Try changing the size of scanning and scan an entire Document to see if it makes a are of different size, a difference.

    You can always scan the photo, save it and then open it in Paint under all programs, crop and save the image there as a work-around.

    My printer (HP Deskjet 1050 A) does not connect to my computer samsung laptop.

    IM using windows 7.

    I open the HP Printer Wizard and go to the tab at the top saying 'Print & Scan '.

    I then clicked on "Scan a document or photo" and my laptop comes with the message "The HP Deskjet 1050 J410 series was not found"

    The printer is connected to the electric network and is connected to my lapop via USB. I tried to print a document to check the connection and it prints well, I also scanned and printed using the printer functions and which also works fine.

    I understand that you are unable to scan from your Deskjet 1050a however, you can print successfully. If the full version of the software is not installed, the scan function will not work.

    First of all, please running the full installation: software HP Deskjet full functionality and drivers

    You can also try to run the HP print and Scan Doctor to see if it will fix the problem of scanning. If there is a problem more serious that the tool cannot fix, it will warn you. Please let me know the results!

    After buying a printer cheap printer hp deskjet 1050a (resembling chewing itself to bits by the way), I had so much headache to install!

    instructions that not many of them just from the pictures! then try to find a product code to go with my serial number on the hp site has been a bloody nightmare! Why hp? Why do you make things so difficult?

    which is wrong with just a serial number?

    in any case, I was looking on the hp site because books I've had with this printer were so small I couldn't read the blighters and theres almost nothing in them anyway. I want to know if the color came out it prints black only?

    also does support the wifi printer? probably not I think that considering its price (you get what you pay for I suppose that Chew plastic noisy)

    also how much ink is in a standard black cartridge and an xl one?

    also how much of each color in the color cartridge?

    and finally, I installed the firmware (did not really want to do, but I couldn't be bothered by separates them) and its got as his own dashboard and a menu including the half I do not understand. I can't find the printer settings and from what ican find there are very few of them or is that how its supposed to be considering it is a cheapy printer?

    I bought what was cheap as a buffer because my epson decided to die on me... until now I'm not really convinced I'll buy another hp (who is half decent when I can afford it and not too expensive) unless someone can convince me otherwise

    I have been using this printer with my Mac running the Mavericks without problem.  Then suddenly, I get a message saying that the printer is offline and print queue is paused.  I try ignition and extinction of the printer, but its status does not change.  I search online and try to reset all settings to print on my Mac, no help.  I then uninstall the software and download the latest version of the driver for HP but the problem is now that the Mac does not even recognize that the printer is connected, so I'm not able to fully complete to the top of the new driver or add a printer through system preferences.

    I understand that your Deskjet 1050 A is not recognized on your computer. I will do my best to help you! I would recommend to fix permissions of the drive on your computer by following this document here. Make sure that your Apple updates are made by following this document Apple here.

    Please follow this entire document of HP print jobs are stuck in the print queue. The reason why I suggest this step is because you said in your post that the print queue is paused and now your USB is detected. Have you tried another USB cord to see if that makes a difference?

    Also, follow this document Apple on USB: Troubleshooting Error Messages. You can try to reset the print on your computer system by following this document Apple here.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are running into some problems of printing and scanning to your HP Deskjet 3050 has, when you try to scan, you get an error message 'not found computer '.

    If you have recently lost the connection between the printer and your network wireless, you have to reconnect using the USB key to the wireless configuration.

    We are unable to print to this printer if we can scan documents. When I click on the document to print it says Hpeprint and "enter your ip address printers or hostname" I don't know how to get rid of this and print my document.     As you can see you have a different tail of the HP ePrint driver, a cloud based pilot for other printers that support the ePrint feature... This is not applicable to the Deskjet 1050 anyway.

    From the change in the Windows Photo Viewer that gout printer is the printer model and not the ePrint wrongly selected one, then is dhould allow printing, I refer to the drop-down list next option, you should change for HP Deskjet 1050 to place:

  • DeskJet 3510 won't print black

    After a year of no problems printing, my 3510 abruptly stopped Deskjet, print black without any warning.  Put in the new HP ink cartridge.  A ran pages realignment many times.  Do you have a hard reboot.  Ran the clean printheads several times.  Still will not print in black a Word document or a copy.  A lot of noise as the print head moves back, but the page comes out completely empty.  Color printing and copy works fine.  Help!

Please complete all of the steps described in the following document, even if you already have some of them. The print head sometimes requires several cleanings to solve such a problem; The streaks of ink, fixing faded prints and other common print quality problems.

    I have a deskjet printer 3522 who don't print black ink.  It becomes more low - where will the ink? I changed the cartridges which were all new HP ink. I cleaned the pinhead of many times.     As it is a 3522, I would advise to call the HP support by phone immediately. Even if it is out of warranty, you can require a replacement of the printer. Can you please let us know how you get on?

    Help! I have a new cartridge 301xl black and my printer is just not printing correctly. I have cleaned the print heads and aligned again even if it is not printing as the plate correctly. If anyone can offer some advice that would be great!

  • HP3520 won't print black

    I love this printer. He has been a reliable workhorse, but today, it would not print black. I bought a new cartridge, but still no go. When something like this happened in the old days, I would use a little alcohol on a cotton ball to clean the cartridge, but these 564 cartridges are not this way.

    I took the cartridge and looked at the container of ink in the printer. Of course, it's a piece of lattice and it was clogged up. I used a baby medicine syringe to deposit some drops of alcohol on the mesh and absorb the alcohol with a q. total quantity of alcohol was maybe 1/2 teaspoon.

    The glow of the mesh, the flow of ink and I still love my HP printer. I won't be responsible by someone of another printer, but mine is very well after this treatment.
