I can't ping remote host, but I can connect with Remote Desktop links. I have set up with ASDM.

Hello
Your configuration is correct.
I suspect the host you are trying to ping has a personal firewall that prevents the ping.
Please rate if this helped.
Kind regards

Allowing ICMP and Telnet via a PIX 525
We are trying to build a new block of distribution to our backbone WAN. We are experiencing a problem when establishing ICMP and Telnet via the PIX. The following is known:
1 Ping and telnet to the 6509 and internal network works very well for the PIX.
2 Ping the 7206 for the PIX works just fine.
3 debug normal to see activity track ICMP for connections ICMP for the PIX of the network 6509 and internal; However, the debug shows nothing - no activity - during attempts to ping at a.b.5.18. (see below).
In short, all connections seem to be fine between the three devices, however, we can get ICMP and Telnet work correctly through the PIX.
The layout is:

Recognizing any help on proper routing through a PIX 525, given that all this is for a network internal.
on the 6509, why the int has a 24 subnet mask, when everything has a 28? If you try the 6500 ping.18, he thinks that it is on a local network, and there no need to route through the pix
Your access lists are confusing.
access-list # ip allowed any one should let through, and so everything that follows are redundant statements.
for the test,.
alloweverything ip access list allow a whole
Access-group alloweverything in interface outside
should the pix act as a router - you are effectively disabling all firewall features.

Interpret what is allowed on the VPN tunnel
Hello
I work with Cisco PIX equipment for the first time and I'm trying to understand what is allowed on one of the VPN tunnels which are established on the PIX.
I interpret this PIX did by reading the running configuration. I was able to understand most of it (with the help of the cisco site), so I'm starting to get comfortable with it. I'm looking for more help in the interpretation of what is allowed by a good VPN tunnel. Here are some details:
map Cyril 2 ipsec-isakmp crypto
Cyril 2 crypto card matches the acl-vpntalk address
access list acl-vpntalk allowed ip object-group my_inside_network 172.17.144.0 255.255.255.0
So, if I interpret it correctly, then the traffic matching ACL acl-vpntalk will go on the VPN tunnel.
As far as the lists others access dedicated, my inner interface I have:
Access-group acl-Interior interface inside
With ACL-Interior:
access list acl-Interior ip allow a whole
So nothing complicated there.
Now, just because of all this I conclude I encouraged all remote network traffic in my site. If all traffic 172.17.144.0/24 is allowed to join my network.
However, I don't know if this conclusion is correct.
This ACL is also applied:
Access-group acl-outside in external interface
And it looks like:
deny access list acl-outside ip a
I'm not sure if this ACL applies to vehicles coming from the IPSEC peer. It's for sure inbound on the external interface, but if it is valid for the IPSEC traffic I don't know.
If it is valid, then am I had reason to conclude that only connections initiated from my inside network to the remote control can come back?
Thanks in advance for your ideas.
With sincere friendships.
Kevin
Hey Kevin,
Here are my comments, hope you find them useful:
1. the ACL called "acl-vpntalk" sets traffic who will visit the IPSec tunnel, so you got that right. All traffic from the group called "my_inside_network" will 172.17.144.0/24 will pass through the tunnel, and there should be a similar to the other VPN end opposite ACL.
2. the 'acl-inside' applied to the inside interface allows any ip traffic coming out of the isnide to any destination.
3. the 'acl-outside' rejects all traffic from entering your home network, but the IPSec traffic is free and will cross because you will find a "sysopt connection permit-ipsec' configured on your PIX command that tells the operating system to allow all traffic destined for VPN tunnels without explicitly enabling it through the inbound ACL. If you have stopped the "sysopt" should stop your traffic and you will have more control on your tunnel traffic.
Personally, I usually disable the "sysopt" and control the VPN traffic in my incoming ACL.
Just a quick note, if you look more deeply into the ACL on the PIX functionality, you will find that no traffic moves inside, if she is not allowed on the external interface. For example, you can allow traffic between "inside" and "dmz" interfaces by adding an entry 'allow' on one of the ACLS applied to one of these interfaces. But when you want to allow traffic from the external interface (security level 0), you will need to allow in the inbound ACL applied on the external interface.
I could have written something vague, but I hope you get my point.
Thank you.
Salem.

How to configure bandwidth allowed on the VPN IPSec ASA tunnels?
ASA 5505 8.2.1
ASA 5520 8.4
We currently have a tunnel set up between 2 ASAs
is 1 - possible to assign 1.5 Mbps of Bandwidth (BW) to this tunnel? Then if Tunnel number 2 is set up I could assign 2 Mbit to this one for example?
I'm not talking to prioritize certain type of traffic on the IPsec tunnel, I'm talking about Tunnel 1 to 1.5 Mbps of BW guaranteed for all traffic that passes through it. Same for tunnel 2
Then
2-How do to control the quantity of biological weapons in an IPsec tunnel?

Allowing ports through a VPN tunnel question
I have a VPN tunnel established and I can ping above but my application fails and I think its because I encouraged not 2 ports (ports TCP 19813 and 19814) through. I'm not clear how should I do for allowing these ports through. I need to add a statement to permit to access my list 'sheep' or what I need to add a statement of license to my list of access interface "external"?
Remote users have an IP address of 172.16.5.x 24 and they're trying to connect to users on the 192.168.200.x 24 192.168.201.x 24. I can't do a ping of the 24 192.168.200.x to the 172.16.5.0/24.
The commands below are what I currently have in my PIX.
My current sheep-access list:
IP 192.168.201.0 allow Access-list sheep 255.255.255.0 172.16.5.0 255.255.255.0
IP 192.168.200.0 allow Access-list sheep 255.255.255.0 172.16.5.0 255.255.255.0
My current outside of the access-list interface:
acl_inbound list access permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq smtp
acl_inbound list access permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq - ica citrix
acl_inbound list access permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq www
acl_inbound list access permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq www
acl_inbound list access permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq www
acl_inbound list access permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq 500
acl_inbound esp allowed access list any host xx.xx.xx.xx
acl_inbound list access permit icmp any any echo response
access-list acl_inbound allow icmp all once exceed
acl_inbound list all permitted access all unreachable icmp
acl_inbound list access permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq www
acl_inbound list access permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq https
first of all, you disable the commnad "sysopt connection permit-ipsec" on the pix? with this enabled command, which is enabled by default, the pix will ignore any ACLs for encrypted traffic. so if you have Hell no this command, then the acl that you applied on the outside int won't make a difference.
However, if "sysopt connection permit-ipsec" is always on, and then all the port/protocol should be allowed.
you said you could do a ping of 192.168.200.0 to 172.16.5.0. How about you 172.16.5.0 to 192.168.200.0 and 192.168.201.0?
also, just wondering if the vpn lan-to-lan or access remote vpn (i.e. using the cisco vpn client).

Allow Cisco VPN Client through the firewall?
Hello
How can I allow a cisco VPN client work from the inside of our network to an external IP address?
We have customers who wish to make use of their Cisco VPN Client companies but our ASA blocks I think?
Also (sorry to ask) a friend in South America is having the same problem but I am not hink they use Cisco, is there a default port used by the client to Cisco? then I can send this info?
Thank you
Generally, the ASA will allow the IPSEC from the inside to outside traffic. This is when you want it came outside and connect to you - this is where it gets creative. You restrict outgoing traffic at all? You deny all ip/tcp/udp outgoing?
But may depend on if the remote end is compaitable NAT - T, and if they have configured. Another question would be how they allow VPN traffic go?

This allows the customer Cisco VPN through PIX
Hello. I seeks to allow the client VPN Cisco of LAN of the company to remote resources.
It's put PAT in place on the PIX and I'll add the following lines to the ACL in the inside interface to allow access to the customer:
permit tcp x.x.x.x y.y.y.y eq 50
permit tcp x.x.x.x y.y.y.y eq 51
permit udp x.x.x.x y.y.y.y eq 500
permit udp x.x.x.x y.y.y.y eq 4500
I have not done something like this before so I don't know if that will be enough to allow the connection of the client to remote resources.
I have to do something else to make it work?
That should be good for the local pix, but make sure that nat-traversal is enabled on the remote device.
ESP and ah protocols, not ports. 50 and 51.
esp x.x.x.x y.y.y.y permit
allowed ah x.x.x.x y.y.y.y
permit udp x.x.x.x y.y.y.y eq 500

Hello
You cannot configure the DAP via CLI Protocol because the configuration is saved in a file dap.xml and is stored in flash of the SAA.
You can configure the DAP protocol using the following link:
http://www.ciscosystems.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_white_paper09186a00809fcf38.shtml#T4
Also note that the link mentions the following:
Note:
The dap.xml file that contains the attributes of selection policies DAP, is stored in flash of the SAA. Although you can export the file dap.xml out, the edit box (if you know about the xml syntax), and re - import again, be very careful, because you might ASDM stop treatment of DAP files if you have misconfigured something. There is no CLI to handle this part of the configuration.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards
Anisha

Hello
I got a pix 501 (6.3 - 4) on a local network and try to use Cisco VPN Client (4.0.2-D) on a remote pc.
I can open a vpn session.
I can't ping from the remote pc to the LAN
I can ping from any station on the LAN to the remote pc
After that I did a ping of a station on the LAN to the remote pc, I ping the remote computer to the local network.
I am so newb, trying for 2 days changing ACLs, no way.
I must say that I am in dynamic ip wan on the local network and the remote pc.
Any idea about this problem?

HTTPS protocol between the client vpn and host of the internet through tunnel ipsec-parody
Hello
We have a cisco ASA 5505 and try to get the next job:
ip (192.168.75.5) - connected to the Cisco ASA 5505 VPN client
the customer gets a specific route for an internet address (79.143.218.35 255.255.255.255 192.168.75.1 192.168.75.5 100)
When I try to access the url of the client, I get a syn sent with netstat
When I try trace ASA package, I see the following:
1 FLOW-SEARCH ALLOW Not found no corresponding stream, creating a new stream
2 ROUTE SEARCH entry ALLOW in 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 outdoors
3 ACCESS-LIST Journal ALLOW Access-group outside_access_in in interface outside
outside_access_in list extended access permitted tcp everything any https eq
access-list outside_access_in note hyperion outside inside
4 IP-OPTIONS ALLOW 5 CP-PUNT ALLOW 6 VPN IPSec-tunnel-flow ALLOW 7 IP-OPTIONS ALLOW 8 VPN encrypt ALLOW outdoors upward upward outdoors upward upward drop (ipsec-parody) Parody of detected IPSEC When I try the reverse (i.e. from the internet host to vpn client), it seems to work:
1 FLOW-SEARCH ALLOW Not found no corresponding stream, creating a new stream
2 ROUTE SEARCH entry ALLOW in 192.168.75.5 255.255.255.255 outside
3 ACCESS-LIST Journal ALLOW Access-group outside_access_in in interface outside
outside_access_in of access allowed any ip an extended list
4 IP-OPTIONS ALLOW 5 VPN IPSec-tunnel-flow ALLOW 6 VPN encrypt ALLOW My question is why this phenomenon happens and how solve us this problem?
Thanks in advance, Sipke

Where is that host (inethost)? Inside of the ASA, or on the internet (on the outside)?
If it is outside, you must configure the NAT for the pool of vpn as you turn on the SAA.

: endWhen I add a second VPN connection by using the commands below:
object obj-amzn2 network
10.34.0.0 subnet 255.255.0.0
NAT (LAN, WAN) source static obj-SrcNet obj-SrcNet destination static obj-amzn2 obj-amzn2
I see the tunnels going up, however, we immediately begin to see the Voip system lose the SIP traffic with its servers, and even if you can still use internet if you have an open socket you can not create a new session. It looks like a problem of routing for me, but I can't seem to find the place where
Any help greatly appreciated
So, you want to have two virtual private networks from Amazon to blocks of different destinations, 10.32.0.0/16, and 10.34.0.0/16, correct?

Hello
We had the following problem:
One of our customers is connected through the VPN Client software. Our counterpart is a hub. We use IP addresses in the range of 172.28.0.0 to 172.32.255.255.
The client uses IPs 172.16.0.0/13.
When the customer uses the tunnel a connection to a host in our net 172.16.x.x is possible. A connection to a host 172.32.x.x is not possible.
172.16.x.x ping is shown in the log file of my firewall (where all packages should travel through). A ping to 172.32.x.x do not reache the firewall.
Thanks in advance.

S2S VPN - cannot get the tunnel upward
I couldn't lift a VPN site-to site because of a configuration error that I can't fix
The topology is Server1 > Hub > ASA - 1 ASA-2<><>
When I launch a ping server 1 Server 2 to try to get out of the tunnel to the top, I get the following error:
% ASA-6-110002: unable to locate the output for ICMP inside:192.168.100.2/2655 to 192.168.200.2/0 interface
No matter which side I am ping, I get the error on both of the ASA. Here is the config for the two ASA, thanks for any help.

!You won't have a road to 192.168.200.2 so he was not able to locate the next hop for the traffic of the tunnel.
These static routes adding causes all traffic to be sent to the default gateway of the internet, including VPN and VPN traffic not.
So adding a route for 192.168.200.0 pointing to 80.1.1.X gave the same results.Kind regards
