AMD overdrive

What will be, if any, problems when overclocking my computer with AMD Overdrive? I will win any performance in video editing?

Look at the requirements here...

http://sites.AMD.com/us/game/downloads/AMD-Overdrive/pages/system-requirements.aspx

Is your OS, chipset and memory listed? If it is not, do not overclock.

Overclocking is not suitable for all machines and can make them unstable.

  • G505s Underclocking with ordinary time

My processor G505s A10 - 5750 m is underclocking and locked to 2.05 ghz. I tried to change settings in Lenovo Energy Management, Catylist control is updated, Bios is 3.0, Amd Overdrive does not alter beside GPU for me, whenever I try to set the processor parameters, it just goes back to what it was before. Times are 57 c, but 100 to HWmonitor which according to her, for all the world to view.

It is a piece of black tape on the back on the Panel of mantince as you can see from the photos, simply remove it and your laptop should stay cool enough to not underclock itself. It worked for me, so I hope it works for you.

  • G505S overheating during the game

I had the G505S for 2 days and have been using it to play Football Manager 2014. However twice during this period, he stopped because it has overheated. When I turn back the fan kicks in and a little heat serious out and dissipates after about 5 minutes.

I downloaded HWMonitor indicating approximately 90 c at idle, however the AMD Overdrive program reports about 42 c idling.

I just installed the latest updated BIOS and made the changes to this link (http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-prevent-your-laptop-from-overheating-windows-7/) recommended to reduce the CPU power to 98% to stop overclocking, but is there anything else I should do? Is the faulty laptop fan is not kicking in and out to try to cool down during the game?

    Hi Phil,

This is normal because the game is running and full GPU is used, if the temperature rises more than normal. I suggest to contact one of our authorized Service Center nearest you and make sure you use the laptop by placing it on a flat surface for proper ventilation.

    Hello

Yes, it's my point of view. I think HP has a few machines of 'games' and customers can access the BIOS to increase the RAM, CPU... speed. Other providers can do the same thing as Asus for its gaming machines.

Sorry, I don't play games (well, I'm lying, I play Sudoku and Candy Crush Saga) so I do not have any gaming machine.

  • TouchSmart 310 continues to close

My computer Touchsmart 310 guard to shut down every time I watch a film/video or play a game. I noticed that on the back of the monitor (where the cpu is) becomes very hot when I watch videos or play games, and then will follow the closing.

    Help, please.

I had a similair problem and cleaning had no effect. The PC itself could be too hot and closed after a certain time. When I downloaded CPUID HWMonitor I found CPU temperatures up to 75 degrees Celsius and above. I read undervolting CPUs, but none would work for me since the AMD units wouldn't let me undervolt. The solution was easier than I expected, I did not have right to Google. I downloaded the free tool of AMD Overdrive. http://sites.AMD.com/us/game/downloads/AMD-Overdrive/pages/overview.aspx my PC HP Touchsmart 310 now is on 24/7. I lowered the CPU to 1,2000 VID and the NB VID to 1.0000. CPU temperatures decreased even though they are still too high in my opinion, it works. CPU temperatures won't now over 65. AMD Overdrive is a great tool and if someone found even better settings, please let me know. And no, undervolting does not compromise performance at all, because these PCs are not suitable for intensive play and during synchronization.

  • Turn on permanently Turbo Core

    Hey guys!

Got this laptop is the HP Envy M6 1205dx and so far I'm loving. I just want to know if there is a way to permanently activate Turbo Core with the A10 AMD processor that is installed on the system.

I was in the BIOS, but the only information I can change there is the date and time. If I change in there, is there a way to "opening" of the BIOS to be more receptive to change, I want to do?

    Thank you!

Also, suggestions intended to name everything should that my changes to the system, and the only thing I did, add memory. Updated from 4 concerts that are installed to 8 gigs in the form of adding another 4 Gig stick.

Good point about the difference between Intel and AMD CPU turbo offferings. Point taken.

I said nothing about all your "kill your machine faster. It was the opinion of the other guy. I believe in overclocking and don't see how it does.

Download from AMD Overdrive utility to enable\disable Turbo Core manually. The downside is that the chipset must also be AMD.

There is some discussion about this on the web. Just the Google Notebook utility and AMD Overdrive.

It seems that it overclocking with the overdrive utility works. It's the same laptop you have and the owner says he it overclocked. You can see the video on the link in the previous sentence.

  • 8.1 Windows reset loop crash

    Hello

I have a laptop Aspire V5-572P-6454 who suddenly started bluescreening immediately after the "Acer" screen at startup.

I produced a recovery USB and tried a refresh (due to a 'locked hard drive') and then I ran a "reset". Everything seemed fine until windows install profile. I select a name for my computer, a wifi network, and every time when he asks me to choose a name of user and password for the computer, it crashes with error:

"Restart your PC on a problem and needs. We are only collecting the error information and then we'll restart for you. If you want to learn more, you can search online for later for error: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (AODdriver2.sys"

and it restarts and the cycle starts again.

My research has suggested starting in safe mode (cannot do it on a windows installation). Uninstall the drivers of AMD overdrive (cannot dispense with windows).

I really want to do is to reformat and reinstall windows, but obviously I can't do without a 8.1 windows product key, which you guys do not provide that I understand.

    Any suggestions?

the image link does not work.

as a last resort, you can try stock 8.1 windows installation media and check if the error.

  • HP ENVY Sleekbook 6 B5Q40UA: Overclocking HP Envy 6 with A6-4455 processor

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my post.

    I have HP Envy 6, 8 gb, 500 gb, 2.1/2.6ghz.

I have been surfing on YouTube and found videos showing how to use AMD Overdrive.  I minimum it and followed the video instructions.  Now, I COULD raise the multiplier, BUT soon as I hit him save it back to original settings.  I also tried the Turbo in the Overdrive cmdlet.  Ditto Ditto... Really, I GUESS that since the app was AMD it would work.

So, does anyone know how I can make this thing work?  I was in the bios and it is VERY limited.  I couldn't find something that could help with this at all.

Thank you so much to help you could give me.

I guess I'm looking for a way to unlock the bios so that I can actually made a change or two.

  • "The speed of the CPU 0 in group 0 is restricted by the system firmware."

    Hello!

My computer has recently been very slow. I tried to format and reinstall, but it did not help. When I checked the system event log, I saw this warning message repeatedly:

    Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power
    37
    Warning!
The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for X seconds since the last report.

My CPU time are OK, and I've updated the drivers and BIOS. All power saving settings are set for maximum performance. Does anyone know what causes this problem and how it is fixed?

    Model: Pavilion DV7 6010so

CPU: AMD Turion Dual-Core processor P560

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

EDIT: According to the performance test PassMark, my CPU performance is one-third of the exception. There is definitely something wrong.

I do not have the main function of parking in any case, it's Intel only, I guess.

With the help of AMD Overdrive didn't completely solve the problem, as something of force multiplier to 4 a few minutes after changing. I thought it had to be a kind of BIOS-side power save "feature", but the official BIOS of HP sucks and it is not all the options related to it. I installed the modded BIOS (it's risky, I know), disabled AMD Cool ' silent mode and now sticks to 12.5 x multiplier.

Pretty weird, huh? Cool ' Quiet is supposed to increase multiplier when necessary and lower it when the computer is idle, but for some reason it has stopped working properly a few months ago and stuck the multiplier to 4 x.

  • DV6-6125sl: turn off turbocore

I own a HP Pavilion dv6 6125sl bought the year last with processor AMD A6 3410mx

I want to disable Turbocore so it does not work beyond 1.6 GHz (currently, it reaches 2, 3 GHz as they perform intensive tasks) to reduce heat output. I don't need the extra speed so I trade it for lower intensity and a quieter fan.

Is there a way to turn it off permanently? In the BIOS of my computer I saw an opportunity to do.

    Hello

If you want to disable the turbocore you must install application AOD (if it is not already installed).

This can be downloaded from the site Web of AMD.

    http://sites.AMD.com/us/game/downloads/AMD-Overdrive/pages/overview.aspx

ONEC you have installed follow the steps below and which should help you.

First go to AOD, preferences and switch to advanced mode.

Next is to disable the Cool calm & who controls is being the green dot in the corner. When the point has a red outline C & Q is off and also hit apply after this step. Then go to the tab control performance and you should see the box in the lower left green test that says Turbo Core control. Until it clicks. Then, you can see the check mark next to Turbo core near the top of the window that pops up just make sure the cheque is not there then press ok and press window main OD applies and you should be good.

    It will be useful.

  • P7 1154 Desktop

I currently 1154 p7 equipped APU of 3600 A6 Office. The apu was clocked at 2.1 GHZ and 2.4 GHZ turbo stock. My win7 experience index showed side 6.9 for cpu. I installed AMD OVERDRIVE and oc the cpu at 4.0 GHZ and 4.7 GHZ turbo which was the oc maximum allowed by the software. On the stock cooler that oc'ed cpu is idle 33 c and 55 c load and now my win7 experience index shows 7.1 as cpu score. I do not use the IGP in the apu, since I was an external. My question is, if this cpu multiplier is not locked? Why is it if I change the multiplier I get more performance? I really want the A8 3870 k for this pc, but I still need to confirm if my pc support. I saw messages saying it does.

    Hello

The CPU supported by HP is indicated on the page of the HP product, which means that you can install one of the listed and they sohuld work. About the K processor, we do not recommend it because it might not work on your system because of BIOS support. Basically, if you install this CPU, you will have an error at startup, saying that the CPU is not supported.

If you upgrade it will be at your own risk, as this CPU is not supported.

    Thank you

When you install the ATI Catalyst 10.6, use the custom installation and exclude the HDMI Audio by unchecking the box next to the HDMI Audio. Pilots still end upward in the ATI Catalyst install directory if you can note the ATI installation path. The problem is that ATI will add an HDMI high definition audio device, DOES not replace the Windows device already loaded. Or may not charge a second device. ===========================================

    The material is highly suspect!

Since you reformatted and reloaded Windows this indicates that the problem is either material or a
very basic pilot who has been reloaded - video/display, network/WiFi, sound, possibly 3rd party
mouse or keyboard, BIOS, chipset and other low level drivers.

This error is usually a driver problem and display adapter (video) driver is the most suspicious if she
may be others. Antivirus/antispyware/security programs, equipment (heat) and major software problems
can also cause the error. When you get to the section of the driver to use the Troubleshoot utility my generic
methods in the next message and then return to the if necessary troubleshooting tool.

Have you recently added hardware or drivers updated? Don't forget to look in Control Panel - Windows
Updates to see if all drivers have been updated it. Other donor opportunities include the antivirus/anti-
    spyware/security programs.

When you get to the pilot and sections of the memory of the troubleshooter check the following message to
update drivers and memory test and then return to the troubleshooter if necessary.

    Cause

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug control is a very common bug control. To interpret it, you must identify which exception has been generated.

    Common exception codes are:

    • 0xc0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates a memory access violation has occurred.

For a complete list of exception codes, see the Ntstatus.h file located in the directoryInc. of the Microsoft Windows Driver Kit (WDK).

    Solve the problem

If you do not have to debug this problem, you must use certain basic troubleshooting techniques.

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates.
    • Try changing video cards.
    • Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS.
    • Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.

If you plan to debug this problem, you may find it difficult to get a stack trace. Parameter 2 (the address of the exception) should identify the driver or function that caused the problem.

If exception code 0 x 80000003 occurs, a hard-coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but the system was launched with the/nodebug. switch. This problem should occur infrequently. If it occurs repeatedly, make sure that a kernel debugger is connected and the system is booted with theSwitch/DEBUG .

In case of exception code 0 x 80000002, the trap frame provides additional information.

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following questions:

    • Hardware incompatibility. Ensure that any new hardware that is installed is listed in the list of the products tested Microsoft Windows market.
    • Service driver or defective peripheral system. A chauffeur service or defective peripheral system could be responsible for this error. The hardware problems, such as BIOS incompatibilities, conflicts of memory and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.

If a driver is listed by name in the bug check message, disable or remove that driver. Disable or remove drivers or services that have been recently added. If the error occurs during the startup sequence and the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use Safe Mode to rename or to delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the start-up procedure of the system Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.

If the problem is associated with Win32k.sys, the source of the error may be a third-party remote control program. If this software is installed, you can remove the service by starting the computer by using the recovery and then Console by removing the offending system service file.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device or driver responsible for control of bug 0x7E.

You can also disable memory cache BIOS may try to resolve the error. You must also run the diagnostics of material, especially the scanner memory, which provides the manufacturer of the system. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

The error that generates this message may occur after the first reboot during Windows Setup, or after installation is complete. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and the system BIOS incompatibilities. For any problems during the installation of Windows that are associated with lack of disk space, reduce the number of files on the hard disk drive target. Search and delete temporary files that you do not have to have, files hidden Internet, application backup files and files saved.chk, which contain fragments of files on disk scans. You can also use an another hard disk drive with more free space for the installation. You can solve the problems of BIOS by upgrading the version of the system BIOS.

    1. A driver has deliberately or inadvertently modified kernel of criticism or data code. Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and later versions of Windows for computers x 64 do not allow the kernel to be debugged, except through authorized hot patches from Microsoft. For more information, see policy patch for x 64 systems.

    2. A developer tried to set a normal kernel breakpoint using a kernel debugger which was not attached when the system is started. Normal breakpoints (bp) can be defined only if the debugger is attached to the start time. Processor breakpoints (ba) can be defined at any time.

    3. A physical corruption has occurred. For example, the kernel code or data could are stored in memory has failed.

Here are a few ways to possibly fix the blue screen issue. If you could give the blue screen
info that would help. Such as ITC and 4 others entered at the bottom left. And all others
error information such as codes of STOP and info like IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and similar messages.

    As examples:

    BCP1: 87BC9510
    BCP2: 8C013D80
    BCP3: 00000000
    BCP4: 00000002

    or in this format:

Stop: 0 x 00000000 (oxoooooooo oxoooooooo oxoooooooo oxooooooooo)
    Tcpip.sys - address blocking 0 x 0 00000000 000000000 DateStamp 0 x 000000000

Often drivers up-to-date will help, usually video, sound, network card (NIC), WiFi, part 3
keyboard and mouse, as well as of other major device drivers.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Windows crashes after and during games

Update: recently replaced the question at the very end (stopped get BSOD and just a hard frost) ends up being a problem for RAM and have since had to replace it.

    Original message:

I had recently this problem pop up (in the last month) and I did my best to understand what is the cause but I'm not able to devote the time to investigate more dump files and I would be very grateful for your help.

Usually after games, but sometimes from the desktop, the computer will completely stopped without a BSOD. Event Viewer attributes most of these errors to Kernel-Power error.

Here is the link to the folder that contains some files .dmp with 27 recorded events from the event viewer. I'd be more than happy to help with any other necessary information.

    Thanks again for your time!

SWTOR. EXE (Star Wars the old republic) was referenced as the offending process in a couple of accidents, so I did some checking and it seems that there are a lot of people have reported this problem. I've linked below, a thread that seems to have a solution or workaround.
