Antenna wire disconnected

I own a hp Pavilion elite quad core with phenom processor 2. At least I think. The name of model written on the bottom, RT3090. This morning, I accidentally unplugged a very thin wire when a fan is replaced. The wire connects to an antenna, which I think to connect to wireless internet or amplifies my signal strength. (Honestly I don't know what made the tiny thread) The fact is that I can is more to connect to internet or detect wireless networks. Y at - it a fix for this or is anyome knows how to reconnect to the antenna?

You ask about this map?  Place the cursor on the top left corner. That "nipple" is the connection of the antenna.

I guess that the cable came off the end of the cable antenna.

The cable can be replaced, but you probably won't be able to do wth the naked eye that the cable is extermely thin (about 2mm). If yo will need a kind of magnifying glass (or extended) to allow to do this, you will also need to very fine soldering iron. Your iron classic is just great.

With a razor blade to remove about 5mm from the outer layer to expose the shielding braid, then reduce the 2mm from the end to expose the wire of the centre. This will give you a long 2mm Center braid and a 5mm long shielding braid.

With much care to fix the centre tinned in the middle of the connector of the antenna connector and braud to the outer shield.

Note: When you use the razor blade be extremely careful that you go cut just through the cable. It takes a very delicate touch.

  • How to remove wire of antenna hole ZD7000?

UPDATE: Maintenance and Service Guide mentions that drivers of antenna are attached to a card; This is why I can just get through the hole. There may be enough slack so that, in my case, I have to disconnect the wires.

I found some issues with the instructions that I've referenced below.

    BB

    ______________________________________________________

    Hello

I disassemble my ZD7000 laptop to replace the power connector. I started to follow the steps at http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing+HP+Pavilion+ZD7000+Motherboard/2878/1.

Everything was going well until I got to step 14, where I am responsible for "Disconnect the 2 cables from the monitor to the rest of the laptop." In the photo, the antenna wire is one of the two wires that are highlighted with a red box. (Even if the image is somewhat confusing, because it shows a hand touching a third wire is not highlighted.)

The manual of maintenance repair & HP says: "Remove the cables of 2 antenna of the hole and chute in the top cover." Since they are wire antennas, I assumed that I could just make out through the hole. However, I let fall after pressure pull as I dared, that was a lot.

Am I missing something? I guess I could cut wire antennas and resolder them during the rests.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bill

  • Pavilion P7-1414: Cable 11 disconnected my p7-1414, where does go?

Hello, my problem, as indicated in the title, is a wire labeled "Cable 11" disconnected from inside my PC I installed an SSD, the other day. I just need to know where he'll be back because I can not find it. The wire comes out of the front (but still inside the case), under the USB ports and comes with the cables connecting the USB ports.

Since the wire disconnected, my PC has SERIOUS difficulties to find wifi or modem routers, even the one in my house, and the intensity of the signal is catastrophic. It cuts all the time. To put it in perspective, my internet speed is so slow on the PC that I can't even run a speed test. I hope that this thread is the cause of the problems, and there isn't anything I don't know. Thanks for any help.

It seems that the antenna to the wireless adapter cable is loose.  On THIS PAGE, it displays the image of the wireless network card.  Click on the title "wireless 802.11 b/g/n.

the antenna cable connects to one of the card on the picture.

  • Is there an internal WLan antenna in Satellite L10-119 PSL10E

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L10 - 119 older (model No. PSL10E-00L01MED).
I would add a mPCI-wireless card for which there is an empty slot.

However, there don't seem to be available antenna wires.
Is it possible these threads have slipped under the casing in which case I'll have to take the computer apart to find, or this computer did not come with built in antennas, although there amPCI slot?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    > Is it possible these threads have slipped under the casing in which case I'll have to take the computer apart to find, or this computer did not come with built in antennas, although there amPCI slot?

If there is a Wlan antenna you would see then two sons near the minPCI Wlan slot. Usually the two wires are black and white.
If you didn t find these threads then there is no WLan antenna inside the laptop.

I understand that you're a need help to get reconnected to your desktop HP ENVY h8 PC - WiFi antennas 1520t. Well, I have included a few pictures below to help out you. Seems to me why you had problems because WiFi antennas do not put in the card mother Formosa, but the WiFi card on the Board.

You can see where the WiFi card connects on this image.

Now if you look at, you will see the card WiFi and Attennas which are illustrated in this image.

Antennas simply screw on the screw that comes and the other on the left.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satsifaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a wonderful day!

  • Black wire in the case p7-1154.

Probably a very simple solution out there.

recently upgraded the video card and power supply in my p7-1154. Updates work correctly. But while fixing the cables, I hit a single thread that connects the back of the computer to the motherboard to the front of the case. Not sure where it is supposed to connect to the motherboard or even what he does.

No known functional issues with the computer itself right now. Just need to know where this thread should go.

    Hello

The single black wire looks like an antenna wire.  See the image below.

If your PC is equipped with a NETWORK card wireless mini card, the wire must be attached to the card in the slot location.

  • Is my wlan antenna broke, I can fix it?

    Hello

I have an acer Apire V5-572PG. I wake up this morning and my wifi wasn't working. Normally, this isn't a big problem as its usually the fault of routers and I just restart. I did this and the problem was not resolved.

I realized that if I hooked Ethernet it worked normally, then I realized that my other devices were log in normally.

Finally, I realized that if I had my cell phone in the same room as the router, I could connect fine, but as I took in my room, it would be DC but not really inform me. The browser would just stop connect and then finally the wifi icon would return to the icon "available networks".

I can connect via my hotspot staff iphones and when in the same room as my router.

Now, I plugged in a USB wireless adapter and its functioning and connecting very well around the House.

I tried uninstalling and updating drivers and install the older drivers.

I also disassembled the laptop and tighten screws on the wlan USB2VGA and made sure nothing is broken or frayed. Everything seems to be connected. But I do not know how to identify if it's one of the 2 antenna wires ranging from the adapter to the top next to the screen.

Any help at all would be MUCH appreciated.

I solved. I had to invert the wires on the map and main. One of them must have been faulty or burnt out I guess. Back to connectivity full.
Thanks for all your help though! I could not solve other wise.

  • Best choice of antenna

I'm near the top of the Creek, the content here filter won't let me talk.

I have an Aironet AIR-AP1252AG-A-K9 and a three-story building condo building, Unit 9, quite small wood frame:

The wired network works fine, but I want to provide 802.11 g and n to all. The switch made POE, I have a power injector and have configured the 1252 without problem.  The two radios in the 1252 will support six antennas - three 2.4 ghz and 3 5 ghz)- but I'm helpless about what to buy or what to locate. The roof is easy, as is the ceiling of the basement garage: both are already wired with Cat 5E.  Locate the WAP anywhere else, it will take an additional wire that I would like to avoid, but I am not opposed to suspended upside down from my feet to antenna wire, if only I know what antennas to put where.

Of course, since the work is measured in hundreds instead of hundreds of thousands of dollars, my local Cisco partner in Seattle does not return my calls.

Antenna tips would be much appreciated.  I spent a week to familiarize themselves with the issues, but am still not convinced.  It seems that shake was involved and I could make a false start or two equipment wise, but I would at least increase the chances of making things as soon as possible.

    Thank you

    Bryan

Let say I go with your #1 suggestion:  two WAPs with one AIR-ANT2451NV-R each, one in the center of the roof, and the other in the center of the garage ceiling.  That means half the roof unit's signal is being broadcast into space, and half the garage unit's into the ground, right?  The remaining two halves should still penetrate the building?

Don't forget that if mount you the AP correctly (logo Cisco pointed down toward the ground) signal goes DOWN on the ground and up to the floor above it.  If you mount on the ceiling, then I would ask if you have anyone working above the building (nice view!)

Wouldn't some directional solution provide more usable signal?

With such a confined space?  I use directional unless you plan to shoot the signals on 2 kms.

Also, your #1 idea leaves potential capacity for four additional antennas - a 2.4 and a 5 on the roof, and another pair in the garage.  Is there anything I do with that to increase the likelihood of good coverage and high bandwidth?

Ahhhhh... Here is the beauty.  The 2451NV is recommended for 1250, 1260 and 3,500th because he has SIX cards (RP - TNC) pigtail: three for 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz 3.  If a unit of antennas can be pluged in every radio antennas.  Nothing more.

  • HP m9402f lan card wire road

Where the antenna wire from the road to LAN card in the desktop HP m9402f?

    Bobby111 wrote:

There is a gray color wire clear attached to the card to two solder joints separate. The wire is broken in two.  I remember that it was screwed into the top of the case inside. When the top-case (rubber like material) slipped back to remove it, the wire was taken somewhere, and he broke. So I need to know where he son inside the upper part of the case, which is also the case of the antenna.

If you broke up the thread on the disassembly, then you need to replace the antenna (HP p/n 466811-001). This is because it is not just 'any' is a coaxial cable.

Another solution is to buy a PCI Express x 1 wireless network card to replace the one you have. They are supplied with a corresponding antenna.

  • How to tell if neighbors wifi interfere with mine?

I have a HP Pavilion p6610f Desktop 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium SP2 with more than half of my memory of 4 GB left. (not sure what is important here) I called my (Qwest) IP on wifi problems and asked them why the icon in my taskbar shows only 2 out of possible 5 bars of reception "WIFI"?

We did a thorough check and they said that he has no problem on their end and that it was probably a software program interfere.  I ran troubleshooting software and malware in Windows and Windows 'Fix - it' I ran HP virus and spyware scans.  I checked my programs and features for all unwanted or unauthorized programs may have slipped with another download. I erased all the browser caches.  I ran cleaning software.

I don't understand data on "performance data logs" there is a certain 'scream', but the overall number is the same as it was before = 4.5.    I have Windows Microsoft Security Essentials.

My computer is also buffering constantly on facebook, now, when he had not done so before.

My router is in the same place, as it has been for the last 3 years, about 3 1/2 feet of my computer.

It is actually the constant buffering that bothers me more than the absence of bars on my wifi icon, but the icon is the only thing that I have to go over there makes me think of something blocking the signal, (and what IP technology).

I contacted HP community forum and they gave me some possible things to do which did not help.

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and if they knew how to fix it?

And, a new neighbor moved in, (which I couldn't talk to him) all the time I have the time I began to experience all buffers.  I address secure wifi with my own password and nobody knows, because he is a little new.

Thank you in advance for your time and trouble.

Back this small black antenna important enough for me to hunt for him and put it up on my desktop?

    Yes.

You have two antennas on your router... but this small black antenna, this is what allows to connect your computer to the router.  Think of it this way: in front of the cable TV, a TV station could have an antenna on top of a very large building (e.g., the Empire State Building in New York City), or at least on a tower that was several hundred feet high.  This corresponds to two antennas on your router.  Your necessary home TV antenna on the roof, or worse, a pair of "rabbit ears" on top of the TV (maybe you're not old enough to Remember these).  This corresponds to the small antenna connected to your computer.  If the antenna on the roof fell, you wouldn't get very good reception.

If when the antenna came down the wire has become disconnected from your computer, it's almost certainly the cause of your problem.  If the cable is connected, the location of the antenna can still be the cause of your problem.

Go to the back of your computer, if the antenna wire is still connected, gently pull on it.  If you're lucky, the antenna would not taken what anyone and you can retrieve it as a fish transport.  When you get it, put it somewhere near the router, or at least where there is no metal object between the antennas on the router and the small black antenna.

If the antenna wire is is dislocated and fell behind your office as well as the antenna, you will have to do some excavation work.

The answer to your question is a bit complicated.

Your Ethernet connection is a connection of 100 Mbps.  It is approximately 12.5 megabytes per second.

The part of your ZyXEL Q1000z wireless is a 'wireless-n' device, theoretically capable of 300 Mbit/s data rate.  The wireless adapter on your computer is 802.11 b/g/n, so, theoretically, you can use the full capacity of your router.  In practice, however, wireless n will give you probably a flow around 160 Mbps or which translates into 20 megabytes per second.  Thus, if you receive a good wireless connection, your wifi would be faster than your Ethernet.

As the radio connection between the router and your wireless adapter becomes poorer, either because of distance or because the antenna is disconnected or blocked by an object that is not transparent to radio signals, the wireless connection speed will decrease significantly.

It is important to remember that these speeds (data transfer rate) are transferred between the router and your computer data.  Unless you are dealing with other computers on your local network, your data transfer rate will probably be limited by the speed of your connection to the Internet.  Except if you pay a cable connection high speed, your Internet connection is likely to be much slower than the 100 Mbps which are at the nominal speed of the Ethernet connection.

  • Poor wireless reception

Hi, I moved my p6740f Pavilion AT & T 2wire router and now either get reception (2 bars) low or sometimes a message that there is no network to connect to.  It works fine when the computer is right beside the router.  It is now across the room, maybe 14 ft of the rounter.  Other computers at any point in the House are connected wireless very well.  Support HP told me that it was a software problem they could solve in that I bought the maintenance program.  AT & T support told me to buy a wireless adapter.  Comments on other forums suggest a relay or a booster placed somewhere between the rounter and the computer.  I wonder if someone might have some suggestions on how to get a stronger wireless reception on my desk.

    Thank you

    Steve

    Hi Steve,.

You pretty much confirmed that the problem is with your PC.  HP documents also reflect the same determination according to your description of the problem.

Your PC has the mini wireless card installed according to specifications.  Open the PC and make sure that the antenna wire (only one) is securely attached to the card.  You could also consider deleting the mini map, then reinsert it making sure that it is inserted completely.  It is possible that the card has weaken with age.

If other devices in the House will be able to operate on a different frequency band and router 2wire ATT can accommodate a change in the band, then you could give that a shot.

  • My p6000 resumes signal from the wireless router. He has worked for months, has left, any help?

    Windows 7

I have a slightly new wireless router and the PC is always connected like this, but in the last days he will not pick up any signal from my router or our hot spots of our my touch 4g cell phone.

It will not work so hard cable...

Occasionally, he'll go get a weak signal, but I think there out crapped on me, anyone else having this problem?

Warranty has expired 3 weeks ago! Pissed! I think they do it on purpose.

If the antenna wire is not damaged or not connected, I would consider looking at an ASUS, Linksys, D-Link or Netgear PCIe x 1 or wireless USB adapter to replace the original one. Here is a selection of Newegg.
