  First time poster, long drive date. I have an Asus laptop that I bought new in December of 2015 with Windows 7 Premium. In early March, after a particularly interesting day, I received an error that UpdateChecker.exe had crashed and closed. Not thinking about it, I thought it would open to the top next time I restarted. As much as I know, which never happened.   The problem seems to be the C:\windows\system32\cmdlineext.dll:

  C:\windows\system32\cmdlineext.dll is 'Context to explore menu SecuROM' component of the SecuROM software which is installed with various games.

  To stop the accidents you could try, as in this thread, disable the context menu of SecuROM for Explorer using ShellExView.

  There might be other ways to solve the problem, for example when trying to get a fix of SecuROM:
